[Q] Rezound will not boot, stuck on htc white screen

I know this is not a new problem and I have tried to glean information from other threads and have been trying for 2 days straight to solve this issue to no avail. The problem occurred when installing the android 4.0 ICS update. I left the phone to install and when i came back to it it was stuck on the white htc screen. i have attempted flashing a new RUU but this has done nothing, possibly because i have no idea what im doing and have only tried my best to do what i have found on forums. How can i solve this???
by the way, unrooted, s-on, the phone and OS are factory in all aspects as far as i know
Make sure that your bootloader is locked to flash an RUU

Hey there!
Welcome to this forum!
Don't worry, I wouldn't think you brick your phone..
First of all, download the toolkit from haason2000 here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1994961
Thanks to haason2000 at this point!
1. Okay, now boot into bootloader and connect via Fastboot-USB!
2. Unzip, and run the .exe in that folder.
3. Select install HTC Drivers, this is important!
4. Register at HTCDev
5. Click on Get tokenID
6. Run thru the step by step guide at HTCDev Website
7. Copy the tokenID and paste it onto HTCDev
8. Click on Unlock bootloader, and see what happens.
After you unlocked your bootloader, you're able to flash a proper recovery.
I prefer http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2074244, THANKS TO Lloir!
Install it by using haason's toolkit.
Last but not least flash your ROM.
I recommend using ViperX+ (Thanks to Team Venom!), by using the Elite-Kernel! (Thanks to nik3r!) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2012320
Now your device should be unlocked and rootet, by having a awesome ROM,Kernel and Recovery!
You saved my phone
THANK YOU!

Where does it say that relocking bootloader will erase recovery partition? It just relocks the bootloader. Just flash a stock RUU. It will write stock recovery during install.

I need to re-lock my bootloader on my bricked HOX+

I accidentally missed a step when flashing a custom ROM onto my HOX+, and now it hangs at the "HTC quietly brilliant" screen every time I turn it on (I can still get to recovery and bootloader though). I know that all I need to do is re-lock the bootloader and use the most recent RUU, but I cannot get my computer to detect my phone to re-lock the bootloader via the Hasoon2000 all-in-one kit. Is there another way to re-lock the bootloader without connecting to a computer? If not, what should I do?
AW: I need to re-lock my bootloader on my bricked HOX+
...
computer is needed
install latest Android sdk and relock it
Thanks, I managed to unbrick it and root without missing the same step. Thanks to your help I am now running Viper XL+ perfectly.

Can you boot into a rom as normal, or are you stuck at the bootloader screen?
If you're stuck at the bootloader screen, then I would find a way to unlock your bootloader (try HTCdev, hopefully it will still work) and then flash a recovery, a rom and then finally a kernel. You might need to run a stock RUU before you can re-unlock your bootloader.

I'm stuck at the boatloader screen and where can I get the stock RUU. I tried to unlock my bootloader at HTCdev and it failed.
Have a look here for RUUs: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2112275&highlight=ruu
Can you give some more info about why you couldn't unlock with HTCdev? What errors do you get? What steps (exactly) did you take and where did it fail?
This happened to me and I was able to unlock with htcdev.

The step I failed at was when I tried to submit the token I'D and it wouldn't work. I did all the other steps leading towards submitting the token ID.

Man I tried that today and it said it failed.
You must first flash the stock recovery and then run the ruu.

So I flash the recovery first, then run the rug and that's it or there is more steps. I want to be able to have a recovery
Your bootloader needs to be unlocked to be able to flash a recovery; it must be locked to run a RUU. If you don't have the stock recovery on there then the only way I can see forward is unlocking with HTCdev.
If it's failing, you need to post some output as to why. Copy and paste the error text, or better yet, take a screenshot and post it here and people will be able to help you more.

My hboot is 1.32. I am mad, that I can't make the security warning, go away and I can't download roms. Sometimes I just want to break my phone and get another one.
When you originally in locked the boot loaded you got an e mail use hysoons tool kit and make a new folder in your c drive rite click and rename it to the unlock .bat paste that into your folder run the unlock boot loaded ommand and boom warning all nandroid back ups will be lost the last Rom you were on will be what pops up as a clean slate

Can you just give me some simple steps to follow by please, I'm confused about trying to relock my bootloader.
Step one flash the stock ROM/kernel step 2 use the root kit to re lock the boot loader reboot it will only reboot as normal with the stock ROM/kernel if you want to unroot and revert everything to stock find the updated ruu run it and then do a factory data reset and presto its out of the box condition

Why are you wasting your time when you don't even understand the basics? This is another example of people that jump straight in without reading. Then expecting the community to clean there mess up......
For your bootloader to read "relocked" you must of unlocked and locked the bootloader atleast once. Why can't you remember how you did it?
Your best bet it to search your email for the unlock code HTC sent you the first time you unlocked the bootloader, download and flash it, then flash a custom rom.
Good luck

Going to 4.4.4 CM11 to lollipop ATT M7

I've got hboot 1.57, 4.4.4., and the latest CM11 nightly. Unlocked bootloader, S-ON. I'm trying to flash the RUU_M7_UL_L50_SENSE60_MR_Cingular_US_7.23.502.1_Radio_4M.32.3218.06_10.46.1718.01L_release_424933_signed_2 rom update from the HTC website. I keep getting an error 155 that it isn't the right rom image for my phone. I'm assuming I need to relock my bootloader for the update to take? Do I need to go back to full stock? I've googled a ton and cannot find an easy way to relock my bootloader. I'm not sure if it matters, but I no longer have the stock HTC usb cable so i'm using one that came with a dell windows tablet. Thanks for any help.

Thanks, i got the bootloader locked. I tried to flash the rom and it got stuck at step 1/6 Sending for over an hour. I'm going to retry after uninstalling htc sync and running in xp compatibility mode. If that doesn't work I'll try extracting the rom.zip and manually flashing it with fastboot.
