[Q] Getting rid of Temp Root and go back to normal (Archos 80G9) - Gen8, Gen9, Gen10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everybody,
I tried to be "fabulous" and attempted to root my 80G9 Turbo with 250GB.
And I actually managed to get the Temp Root to work (hence the "#" in adb shell). However, my tablet slowed down immensely from that, I barely can operate it. So I got scared and now I can't go back to normal.
I sucessfully installed the offical update file from the Archos website, but that did not get rid of the Temp Root.
To gain the Temp Root in the first place, I pushed these files "1" and "2" to /data/local and executed them, restarting after each file.
So to revert that, I tried to just remove these files. After restart, still the same thing, still Temp Root.
If I had known this before, I would not have attempted it. I thought, that Temp Root is (hence the name) temporary
but I'm stuck in it and I can't get out of it.
All my data and Apps astonishingly are still there and intact, and I am still able to listen to my music fluently,
Will I be able to go back to normal without losing data? I shouldn't have messed around. I hope someone can help me out.
Thanks

The slowness is due to how the 'root' is working. If you want to install the SDE (special developer edition) of recovery you can keep the root and follow the few remaining steps here in the first grey section on page 1. Might need to download the Enable SDE.zip file that is at the bottom of that section if you have not already.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1871912
After that is done and sde is installed you should be able to update the firmware with official Archos firmware to get rid of the root. Archos firmware does not wipe the tablet so no worries there.
Or you can just update the firmware itself.

Thanks so much, so there is hope!
Would it also be safe to follow the "easier" SDE method that is linked in the thread you gave me?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1653566
Or should I rather use the method in the grey section since i started it like that?
Once again, thanks!
EDIT: I see there are serveral methods to enable SDE (official and unoffical). Can I use any method I like? Or do I have to use unofficial, because I already followed the steps up until Temp Root?
And if I have SDE Menu enabled, is it safe to i.e. install the rooted stock firmware update without losing files and apps? (that includes removing local.prop and Android Kernel and flashing)
Sorry for being paranoid but I don't wanna make any mistakes. Thanks

Once you have SDE installed it should stay installed regardless of the firmware, the only thing that will remove it is choosing to do so in the SDE menu.
You should be able to install whatever firmware you want after that rooted or official.
Like Djirin the Archos firmware dose not wipe the device, but keep in mind that some custom roms mite or,they mite require you to wipe before install.

Thanks guys, I have sucessfully installed SDE and with the next reboot the tablet went back to normal speed, booting into the unrooted system. I still downloaded the Stock Root by surdu_petru, since now that I have SDE active, I can choose to install the rooted FW a a later point but right now I am extremely happy to be able to use my tablet again! You don't understand what I went through! Thanks a lot.

How to go back to stock, run the update, and re-do root and other tweaks

Okay, so I haven't as of yet seen a thread that appears to spell out this process. Most of you are talking about applying developer-modified patches to get to DI01, using Clockwork recovery, and things like that. For various reasons, some of us prefer to remain a bit closer to stock, and not worry about bricking with custom recovery software and whatnot. I'm one of those people, and I've seen questions here and there on how to go back to stock, and if root can be maintained or redone afterward, etc., so I decided to document here what I did to apply the official update to my rooted and lag-fixed Fascinate. Without further ado, here's the process I followed:
Ran the unlagfixme.bat script from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=779597, which automatically reboots the phone
Used Root Explorer to remove the ".old" extension I had added to all system .apk files I considered bloatware (I chose to disable them, not delete them)
Rebooted the phone again for good measure
Downloaded the update, and let it install normally, after which root access was gone as expected (Superuser.apk and other apps that required root access were still present, but they wouldn't function)
Rooted my Fascinate again per the instructions in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=779238, just like I did the first time (only had to do it once, not twice like some here have said); note that I followed all instructions except for the final one, which is installing Superuser.apk, as that application was still installed, and still worked fine after applying the proper permissions to su and busybox
Opened Root Explorer, and once again added .old to all .apk files that I wanted to disable and remove from sight
Rebooted again
Ran the lagfixme.bat from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=779597 to re-apply the lag fix
Rebooted one final time to make sure everything was in still good working order
So there it is. I'm still running stock ROM, stock recovery, etc. I should be able to easily repeat this process any time there's a new OTA update, with minimal risk of bricking.
Helpful thanks, but I think I screwed up.
SO I got the OTA update message this morning. I have root and lagfix installed, and I ran the OTA. Everything works but I no longer have root access. SO I think I screwed up. Newb right. SO do I have to go back to the stock image? What do I need to do to recover while retaining my contacts apps etcetera. Thanks

Just re-root, either through adb or there was a one-click out there.
Yeah, just re-root using the original procedure you used (except no need to reinstall superuser.apk), and you should be good to go.

Thanks for taking the time to write that up Ivorycruncher!
How would this process differ when the Froyo update is released, also having ClockworkMod Recovery installed instead of stock recovery?
I, like you, would like to have legitimate updates installed while keeping root.
I've never installed Clockwork, so I can't comment on that. When Froyo comes out, I imagine the process will be much the same, though at this point there's no way to know if the original rooting method will still work or not after the upgrade. Also, depending on what they do with Froyo, the lag fix may not be necessary anymore, and might not work without some tweaking even if it is still needed.

[Q] unlock and root tf201 9.4.2.21

Hi all.
Ok, I'm fairly confused as to how to go about rooting my transformer prime 9.4.2.21 tablet.
As I understand it, I should be able to unlock the tablet, then install a 'ROM' that is already rooted, which means..I can boot into the 'ROM' and have root access??
So, I set out and unlocked my tablet (I'm aware of the warranty repercussions). Done. Now I want to root the tablet so I can install Ubuntu or perhaps Debian on it...does anyone know how I go about this?
I'm SURE this has been asked, I just can't seem to find it...I'm also quite new to the mobile 'hacking' world, and I'm a bit confused about all the buzz words (i.e. 'flashing a ROM', etc)..
I appreciate any help!
Cheers
I am pretty sure the next step after unlocking it is installing CWM, then using that to install the ROM of your choice.
Anyone else want to chime in here?
A.) Unlock.
B.) Flash ROM (you may want to pick before unlock0.
C.) Enjoy.
Unless it says otherwise you can assume any ROM that isn't from the manufacture, is rooted. The development section has ROMs, unlock, and Ubuntu crap. I use Debian in a chroot rather than native, and forgo X11. You may have to search for some things.
Can you point out a thread on how to install CWM from an unrooted device? Been searching,, but every thread points to Viperboy's thread, which will not work on .21.

You can't install CWM if you haven't unlocked. Root doesn't have anything to do with unlocking.
I suggest using Viperboy's tool to unlock your device. Be careful to follow ALL the directions and you'll be just fine.

Rooting and unlocking are different. If you are unlocked, research which ROM you'd like to install and follow the directions in that thread. Virtually every ROM thread has the directions listed. There's even a thread if you want to try Ubuntu, though it has limited functionality right now.
Personally, I like Jermaine's AOKP ROM. It is really fast and smooth.
That's all well and good, how do you install CWM after unlocking? All of the posts say to use viperboy's tool, but it is not available at this time, the link is dead.
On version 4.5 that I already have option 5 unlock says "MUST BE ROOTED!!"
Are you saying it works without root? Or will the Fastboot method here work?
ok mcliar, I found in another thread from you this:
EDIT: I fixed it! I was able to pull an .apk of OTA Voodoo Rootkeep from a previous Titanium Backup file. I installed the app, and it restored root for me! Its possible that I was already still rooted, but without the ability to d/l apps I couldn't do anything about it. Anyway, I'm back with a rooted .21!
I have a similar situation, lost wifi, did a factory reset, lost voodoo and now can't reroot. How did you pull the apk and install it on the prime?

I had a backup apk from titanium backup. I'll attach the apk so you can see if it works for you.
Yes, Viperboy's tool will unlock and install CWM without root (EDIT: come to think of it, I was rooted when I ran this. You can follow this if it doesn't work for you--->). Alternatively, you can use the ASUS tool itself, and then follow this thread to install CWM.
seems like everything needs root...
Ok...
So, I need to 'Flash a ROM'...right. I'm looking in the development section, and the ones I'm looking at require CWM to be installed..but that (from what I can find) requires root to install...
There was a mention of ViperMOD. However, from what I can tell that program will install CWM after you root the device, which it can't for me, as I'm running .21.
I've also read several mentions about using Rom Manager. I installed the free version, and tried to install CWM that way, but it failed with 'An error occurred while attempting to run priviledged commands', presumable because I need to root the device first.
Soo...it really looks like I need to root the device before I can do anything. Is this incorrect? It seems like it is, but when I look into the suggestions listed here I seem to run into a brick wall because I need a rooted device...
I appreciate all the suggestions guys, I really want to get stuff working on my TFP. Any help is (as always!) appreciated.
Thanks

oops sorry, I missed that CWM link...I'll check that out.
I have been researching all day, you will need to use fastboot in order to install cwm for the first time if you don't already have root. It will be what I use if I cannot get this titanium backup apk to work.
Mcliar, I appreciate you getting me the APK. I will let you know how it goes.
Could you post the backed up "su" for "OTA Voodoo Rootkeep" (i am guessing it stores the file in the application folder). I am wondering if it would be able to use this back to root the TF201
thanks

I lost root on my TF201 after flashing Craig Gomez's us-tf201-jro03c-10.4.2.15-stock-deodexed.zip ROM. In addition to losing root access, I still had Superuser installed, and it would not grant superuser permission to anything I was trying to use to fix the problem, such as Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper, GooManager, etc. Also, Superuser did not even have superuser permission, but could not be deleted in the File Manager. Another big problem is that I could not boot into recovery, and I could not downgrade to ICS.
After trying a number of possible solutions that I found on this and other sites, I discovered Urkel's Fresh Start 1.0.zip. Here's the post:
<http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=32677560>
If you are at a dead end, I highly recommend that you give this a try! Your bootloader needs to be unlocked, but I had already done that when I was still using ICS. I'm not sure if the unlock tool available on the Asus site will work with JB. All you have to do is download the Urkel's Fresh Start zip file to your computer, unzip it to the same folder on your computer where you have adb and fastboot, add the JB ROM that you want to use to that folder, and rename the ROM file to system.blob. You'll also need to install the drivers on your computer so that it can send data to your TF201. I used the drivers that are on the Microsoft site, but there is a link to some universal drivers in the post above. Connect the cable from your TF201 to a USB port on your computer, and after deciding which option you want to try, double click Fresh Root.bat or Fresh Start.bat. Fresh Start.bat will first install the TWRP 2.2.2.1 recovery (that's what recovery.blob is). It will then install whatever JB ROM you decided to use. I went with the 10.4.2.15 ROM that's now on the ASUS site. The Urkel batch file may then restore root access, but that didn't work for some reason in my case. I think my problem was not mounting \System. You can do this by booting into TWRP recovery that you now have, select the Mount button, and put an X in the top box. In my case it seems that the box becomes unchecked during reboot. I tried it several times and gave up, but there is another simple way to regain root access if you have made it this far. Download Superuser-3.2-arm-signed.zip and flash that using TWRP, and you will at long last have root access once again. I see that this file has already been mentioned in this thread, and it worked like a charm for me.
So why did I want root access to being with? It's because of that stupid GPS problem. GPS isn't really needed on a pad in my opinion, but things like that bug me (pardon the pun)! When I was still using ICS, I unlocked the bootloader, rooted, and then used GooManager to flash TF201_External_GPS.zip. This file allowed the GPS function in my TF201 to work just as well as the GPS in my Samsung Galaxy S2. Also, I see no change when I attach the GPS dongle. What does that tell you? I think for most people with the GPS problem, it's a FIRMWARE problem, not a hardware problem. I'm not having a wifi problem, but I suspect that this is also a firmware problem. If Asus is smart, they have someone reading these blogs to get some ideas on how to fix their problems. Instead, they've spent money sending people a GPS dongle that, at least in some cases, is just a waste of time and money. So I've reinstalled the GPS zip file, and my GPS works...so now Google Maps can tell me where I am. Thanks, I already know that most of the time. Another thing that seemed to help with the GPS problem...disable the stock browser and use the Dolphin browser instead. I have no idea why that should make a difference.
Since I am a noob (whatever man), I tried to spell this out so that it can be easily understood by other noobs. Good luck, hope this works for you.

[Q] Will the v4.1.2 Minor FW Update remove root?

As you can see Kies has prompted me an update and the update seems to have already downloaded OTA using WiFi.
It is prompting me to install the update again and again.
My question is, if I do select to install this update,
1.) Will it remove root?
2.) Will it completely wipe my phone? (previous incremental updates haven't wiped my data, but the phone wasn't rooted then.)
3.) Can I root again using CF-Auto-Root?
Thank you.

Device status modified and cannot update
tried using triangle away and did not reset the flash counter
Because triangle away can reset your flash counter only if you're running stock recovery, stock kernel, stock rom etc.
CF-AutoRoot should not make your status "modified" but probably like you see it did. Maybe some other apps did that, maybe not, nobody knows anyway. If you really need these updates then you should flash newest firmware from samsung through odin and then root it + reset flash counter, it should work also for further updates (but I'm not sure).

Thanks a lot.
I know where to get the FW updates to flash via Odin but don't really understand how to reset the flash counter if not by using TriangleAway.
Could you please be kind enough to guide me?
And these are the apps I used after root
SuperSU
Busybox
Root checker
Titanium Backup
Lucky patcher
Market enabler
Greenify
Could any of these apps modify the stock kernel, rom or recovery? Coz I never flashed any custom ones just rooted using CF-Auto-Root and installed the root apps
P.S: I was able to do the FW update via Kies and now the status is back to normal, but I'm afraid to root coz the status might go back to modified.
It's more like, you know. If we're talking about warranty then they'll find that your rooted your phone anyway. If we're talking about updates then probably it's still better to keep an eye on some stock-based custom roms, mostly because of frequent updates (nearly instantly after new baseband), while you still need to wait some time for OTA to arrive. Of course it's much easier to apply OTA than whole custom rom but hey, how often are you doing that?
About your question - busybox is my choice because it modifies /system apps, many of them.
And lastly - in odin you have a checkbox to reset flash counter, so you don't need to worry about anything using this tool. At least in general.
Overall I'd stick with pure stock non-rooted firmware if you don't need it in general or rooted custom rom (f.e. mine ) for much better experience. I couldn't go back to stock after getting used to much better performance, less battery drain etc.
Choice is yours.
Lucky patcher
Warez is totally banned on XDA you are stealing from developers .
As its a warez app who knows what sort of malware it could add to your phone .
I would wipe the phone install original firmware .
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1978840
Then update it and to stick with unrooted stock .

I rooted mainly coz I needed to use market enabler
In Odin are you referring to the option F. Reset time??
I am using the Odin version provided by Chainfire in his S3 rooting thread in which all options are disabled except for Auto reboot.
@JJEgan I don't even know how to use half of the apps I mentioned, I only installed them as my friend suggested it as must have root apps.
As you might see, I am still a N00b at this and am in the learning process.
BTW Thanks for the link to the guide.

Thanks a lot.
If I'm not mistaken, ArchiDroid is a Custom ROM(pre-rooted) which requires a Custom Recovery.
I will be learning a bit more first before I install a Custom ROM.
A question though. Will I have to take a backup of my app data if I decide to install a custom ROM?
Also if I want to install the stock FW via Odin, will I have to take a backup first?
Thanks and I'm really sorry about asking such questions.

Yes it requires custom recovery for installing .zip package.
There is nothing to learn if you ask me, you have complete guide for installing everything you need in step-by-step howto. If you want to keep your data then you need to use some nice app for that f.e. Titanium Backup but for that you need root and... yeah. It's easier to start from scratch on new pre-rooted rom.
I'd suggest flashing custom recovery (tutorial in my topic) and then you can create a backup directly from that, with everything you want to, including actual system, efs folder, recovery, kernel etc. So you can easily get back to original rom whenever you want to. Keep in mind that you still need custom recovery for that.

Ok Now I'm really confused
I still haven't learnt how to use Titanium Backup to backup, or how to do a nandroid backup. I have read it's better to do a backup b4 installing a custom ROM. And if I'm not mistaken, I need ROOT to do a nandroid backup too.
As I said before that I used CF-Auto-Root, I just followed the instructions to the word.
I had tried doing a ADB backup before root, but for some reason it kept exiting(I guess coz I have just about 1GB memory left on my Internal memory SD card)
Thanks for the quick reply. Man ur really fast in answering questions. :good:
EDIT: Just did the CF-Auto_Root again and didn't install any other apps like busybox(uninstalled all root apps) and used triangleaway to reset the flash counter. But the counter still stuck on 1
The device status shows normal though.

First of all you need custom recovery to perform nandroid backups. So you can stick with my first 10 steps in my howto. After that enter recovery, enter backup section and make a custom backup (or default, doesn't matter) of everything you have, especially /efs folder as it's really important. When you finish doing backup then boot to your normal system and copy these backups to your PC. Now you're sure that they won't disappear and if you want to backup your phone from that then simply put them back on your phone and restore them from the recovery.
But overall I'd suggest clean start without these backups. Of course it's always recommended and I recommend it as well but as long as you won't want to go back to original rom, there is no real point for backing it up. You can always download latest official firmware and flash it through odin.

[Q] Lost root, help downgrading to 4.1.2

Hi all,
I'm a bit of a n00b at this, so please forgive me.
I started with Android 4.1.2, Kernel 3.4.0-g298631f-02047-gec59411, build 10.1.C.0.370.
I rooted it using Doomlord's easy-root and then when attempting to flash custom recovery, I accidentally flashed some other .img and the tablet wouldn't even turn on. I cried. Like, a few good tears.
Went online, found out I wasn't screwed, and figured out how to flash SGP312_10.4.B.0.577_VMo DE_1273-3719_WIFI312G.
But, as I said, I lost root, and am confused about how to downgrade back to 4.1.2 properly without bricking.
Here is my current info:
Version 4.3, Kernel 3.4.0-g1b44cd5, build 10.4.b.0.577
In this thread, under "Downgrade your rom" and "back to 4.1.2 and rooting" it says "if you're in 4.3, Flash this SGP 351 4.1.2 FTF using Flash Tool and it will be booted in 4.1.2. if you have different Variant downgrade to your Variant FTF file"
What is a variant FTF file? Can I just use any SGP 312 4.1.2 FTF? Does anyone know a safe one to use?
Thanks!
Just wipe EVERYTHING on flashtools. Make sure that you have al wipe checked, and press start flashing.
But be careful, sometimes, bootloader is messed up with updates, not sure if it is your case because i don't have a SGP312. Instead i have the LTE variant, wich turned itself into an stubborn piece of technology LOL

Just not sure what you mean by "wipe everything". What am I flashing it with? Which firmware? And what's "al wipe"?
I tried posting a screenshot of the flash tools but as a new user I can't do it. Sorry for being a n00b.

I believe by "wipe everything" and "al wipe", they mean select to wipe APPSLOG, CACHE, and DATA during the flashing process. The flash tool you need can be downloaded from HERE. You can download a US version of the firmware from my post HERE.

THANK YOU, SIR.
I really appreciate it!
Back onto 4.1 and just rooted again. Now I just need to manage not screwing up installing CWM like I did last time!
Grrr...so I'm having trouble again.
When I try flashing CWM it keeps soft-bricking or whatever my tablet. It won't boot and I need to put it into fastboot mode and reflash the firmware.
I'm using the command fastboot flash boot TabZ_DooMLoRD_AdvStkKernel_FW-253-v01.img
Is there a better or another way to get CWM installed?

TabZ_DooMLoRD_AdvStkKernel_FW-253-v01.img is for the SGP321 running firmware 10.1.1.A.1.253.
You have a SGP312.
TabZ_DooMLoRD_AdvStkKernel_FW-344-v01.img is for the SGP312 running firmware 10.1.C.0.344.
You are running firmware 10.1.C.0.370.
You would probably have better luck trying to install Nut's XZDualRecovery.

Jeez, dude, you're totally rocking my world. Thanks a ton for all your help.
I've successfully installed the XZ DualRecovery.
But now something weird is happening: when I try installing various roms (cm-10.2.0-pollux_windy or cm-11-20140418-nightly-pollux_windy) I get the error that it's for the wrong device. It tells me that I have a Pollux, but according to google, Pollux is the LTE version - I most definitely have the SG312 32GB WiFi version).
Did I go wrong somewhere here?

I do not install custom ROMs. No ROM has ever impressed me enough to cause me to want to install it. However, I have read posts regarding your problem in the Xperia Tablet Z Original Android Development forum. Look there and perhaps you will find the answer you need.

Hmm, I see. I was excited to install Cyanogenmod because I have it on my Samsung Galaxy S3 and enjoy the customization and ability to remove all the bloatware.
According to your signature, I see that you're on 4.2... A few questions:
Did you do this through an official update?
Can I somehow flash 4.2 through recovery mode (so if I decide I don't like it, I can just load a system backup and go back to 4.1.2)?
If I were to update through the automatic system update, I'm assuming I'll lose my root access and won't be able to get back into recovery mode (in case I figure out a way to install a custom rom in the future)?
Is there a way to remove all the sony bloatware without root access (if I were to install an official system update)?
Sorry for all the questions. I'm just trying to get this all figured out before I start downloading all my apps and getting comfortable with the interface.
Thanks again so very much.

When I first received my XTZ, it was running 4.1.2. I gained root access using DooMLoRD's Easy Rooting Toolkit. I also installed SuperSU Pro and enabled its Survival mode and Install SuperSU into /system settings. Doing that allowed me to update firmware builds via OTA twice without losing root access. I have chosen not to update to 4.3 for various reasons; however, I did attempt updating to 4.3 via OTA like I have in the past, but the update failed to install. And from what I have seen of 4.4.2 on my son's Nexus 7, I may chose not to update to 4.4.2 also. My 4.2.2 install is working flawlessly and my XTZ does everything I need it to do, so I see no reason for updating yet. I live by the aphorism "If it's not broken, don't fix it."
If you install 4.2.2 (via flashing, you can no longer do it via OTA), you can use Vroot - English version to gain root access. Be aware that in the past, Vroot had a bad reputation regarding its loading unwanted apps during the root process, but I believe xda-developers and Mgyun-team (Vroot developers) had a talk and Mgyun-team has since changed their ways. In my opinion, Vroot is now safe to use. Many people have posted saying they have used it and have not experienced any problems.
I do not know of any way to remove bloatware without having root access.

Damn, maybe I was a bit too hasty in rooting my tablet; why is it that I can no longer to OTA updates? If I were to buy SuperSU PRO (for survival mode) is there any benefit to me? I see that it allows for OTA updates.
I am currently rooted via Superuser (by clockworkmod).
When you say I'll need to install 4.2.2 by flashing, you mean through Flashtool, right? Which build should I get (and where, one of the development forums)?
Is the reason why one is advised to install custom roms via recovery mode in order to maintain root access (which I'm assuming doesn't happen if you flash through Flashtool)?
Something I forgot to mention earlier is that I did unlock the bootloader. I'm not sure if that helps or hinders me at this point.
Thanks again for taking the time to answer all my questions. I really love this new toy, and I'm so terrified of bricking it.

If I were to say flash this version: http://android.sc/official-android-4-2-2-on-xperia-tablet-z/ I should still be able to install Vroot, right?
Also, do you just manually remove the bloatware yourself, or is there a particular script/app that goes in and cleans up all the unnecessary stuff?

Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean 10.3.1.A.0.244 is for the SGP321. You have a SGP312, so you need firmware 10.3.1.C.0.136 (same as mine), which you should be able to download from HERE (upload credit goes to user named spectre51). Flash it then gain root access using Vroot.
Regarding SuperSU Pro versus Superuser, I use Chainfire's SuperSU Pro because it has superior functionality and more options compared to ChainsDD's Superuser. And I use SuperSU Pro because it is more likely to retain root access rights after an OTA update than the free version of SuperSU; e.g., SuperSU Pro provides OTA survival mode, the free version does not.
Regarding uninstalling bloatware, that is something you need to be careful with. Some apps you want to keep have dependencies on apps you consider bloatware and want to uninstall, especially when it concerns system apps. So, investigate the app before you uninstall it. Most times, I use Titanium Backup Pro or ROM Toolbox Pro to uninstall apps that cannot be uninstalled via the Apps list found in the tablet's Settings. At other times, I have had to use a file explorer and text editor to uninstall an app.

Thank you again my friend.
Is there a list of apps that are safe to uninstall, or, rather, a list of apps that I shouldn't tinker with (for fear of uninstalling an app that has a dependency on something critical)?
Also, I'm on the Google Play store and I see both Titanium Backup Pro and Rom Toolbox Pro. Should I buy both? If you had to buy just one, which would it be?
My main goal is to just make the smoothest experience possible. I want to take maximum advantage of the hardware in the tablet and have as few unnecessary programs running as possible.
