If u rly just wan speed and performance. Go for stock android. Features, go for sammy roms. For ur case, i recommend u to flash a custom rom.

Kernel is the powerhouse of your phone.. You cab improve speed and sound quality with battery saving..Just go to particular thread.. see that it supports your phone and android version.. Download zip for
your particular version.. Copy it to your SD card and flash through recovery that's it...

The below image explains in simple terms what the kernel does:

Constant freezing and battery loss

I have looked everywhere for an answer but have found nothing. I can use my phone just fine until it completely freezes. I am left with no option but to take the battery out and restart and come back to a low battery that went from roughly 80% to 10%. I have no clue what to do. I'm not sure if i need to wipe and format. Can anyone give me some advice? If it's a case of having to wipe, can I have details on how to do this without losing information?
Thanks

i think you have the original firmware, try to install the newest firmware LSJ you can get this at sammobile.com or you can choose a custom rom which you can find here

Yeah, you're on an official rom, and since you don't know what it means, I assume you don't underclock (UC) and/or undervolt (UV)
Ever considered rooting and flashing a custom rom? Or, like stated above me, flash some other official firmware through Odin to see if the problems still excist (except someone else has another sollution).

[Q] Jelly Bean Rom And BackUp Texts

Hi there, i just have 2 simple questions witch are:
Q 1.Whats the latest rom out there that is tweaked better and that looks most like the original Jelly Bean?
Q 2.Whats the name of an app or any other way i can save all my Texts before i format my Phone, something simple to use.
Thank you
1) This one
2) Ti Backup allows you to back up your txts & call logs up to an XML file & to restore same.
If you noticed i did not post what is the best Rom out there please read the question before you give me a link that i already am aware of.
the answer to your first question is very subjective....my best may not necessarily be ur best.....,
2) titanium backup
i dont want what u guys think is best i want to know a rom that looks more like the original Jelly bean but just tweaked thats all.

You've been given a lot of suggestions which you could've looked up by yourself, so it seems to me that it isn't that hard to just have a look in the threads yourself.
If you read the title of the Neatrom thread, I think you might have your answer...

Are there any good AOSP/AOKP roms that have a good camera?

I've used both CM10 and CM10.1 and the camera is awful. Takes forever to switch. Also the rear camera has problems focusing.
The stock rom works so much better, but I don't like much else of the stock rom.
you can use custom sammy - based ROMs
Maybe UltimaROM by Kryten2k35 is for you, then.
A custom Sammy rom. I've had heaps of luck with the new slim bean, the camera does crash on occasion but just requires you to press okay and then go back to the camera app, instead of having to restart the phone every time

UltimaRom might be what you are looking for
CodecRom is the Daddy - IMO of course.
DSA is still updating via his website, and help (not that you need much as everything always works!) is available in the Q&A thread.
please don't turn this thread into a best ROM one. all of these ROMs have the same camera performance
Could give ReVolt a try ... Tbh I was in same predicament as you and I've tried the 4.2 camera and I didn't like it as first.. Just change a few settings on that .. I know it may not perform perfect but fiddle with settings you may even fall in love with it

[Q] Fastest rom for Galaxy s2

Hey.
I am looking for a fast rom for my samsung galaxy s II i9100. I want it to be fast but it's also important that it's stable. I've tried out a couple of custom roms but no one was what I was looking for. Cyanogenmod was very clean and also fast, but the battery was just sucked out of the phone...
So... what whould you prefer??
Thanks in advance!

Try the ROMs for yourself and find out, no one is going to give you any advice since you decide what ROM is best for you
A red one (because red is the fastest colour)
for stability sammy roms, aosp (cm, etc...) is fast but not 100% stable (open source drivers). just choose

My Advice: Dorimanx Kernel 9.39 + SlimBean Build 8
It's an AOSP ROM, battery life with shipped kernel is okay, not extraordinary but not as devastating as XENON HD.
And very stable and fast, probably because it really deserves its name: Its just 81MB
Try it!
Guys, why are 'What is the best/fastest/greatest rom?' questions suddenly allowed? It's subjective, no one can tell you.
So stop asking and please stop answering with subjective suggestions.

Slow write speeds

I have been getting very slow write speeds on my revive averaging at about 6mb/s
I have seen other users post speeds of 20mb/s+
I can figure out why I am getting low speeds.

depends on rom your using and especially the kernel configs on I/O governors.
try using custom roms like MIUI smoke or CM 11.
I have used all the roms available for mi pad.
I have used cm11, miui smoke 7&8, BDITA and currently am using cm 12.1
The results are still the same in all roms

where storage are you writing? internal or SD card?
if on sd card, make sure you got at least class 10 or ufs 1, 2 or 3 if you want a faster speed
if on internal, try using kernel audiutor (download it from playstore), make sure your rooted, open it and go to I/O section.
try increasing the read ahead about 512-2048 of your internal and sd card. also try changing some governors, i suggest you use MIUI smoke rom or the original CM 11 made by faust, cause BDITA rom got only one governor, the modder remove the others so don't use it.
Maybe sd too old or class too low
