ok so i have i9100 for about 2 month now....
recently after i updated to 1.5 cognition.. and suddenly my internet stopped working..
so far i have checked the internet settings.. reinstalled to the newest samsung firmware and kernel using odin... .. i know its not my sim or service.. because i put my sim in another phone and it works .its an atrix and i have att btw.

From where did u download the firmware?
Also do on your dialpad *#06# and check that your imei is the same as in phones box.looks like u corrupt efs folder.did you use any. pit file when flashing with Odin or did you check the Efs clear on odin?

i got the firmware from samfirmware
and the imei maches the back of of the phone.. and i did not use any kind of pit file.. and did not check efs clear
Flash a different modem.
csc:i9100oxakh3 is that your correct area have you checked your networks APN settings etc have you Mobile Data switched OFF ??.

been though all of that lol tried a new modem too dint work..
when i did soft ver check.. and under phone it says unknown i think that is the the problem so im installing xxkf2 with 3 files lets soo what happenss

Hi, I've got an i9300 like 8 months ago, it was from a carrier "Claro", from Costa Rica (but not locked), I flashed a Poland 4.1.1 I think it was XXLIB, then I upgraded to 4.1.2, and then I had to flash again to 4.1.2 but with a different rom XXEKC, everything was fine
Two days ago my internet icon was gone, I didn't change anything, today I called my op to check the problem, they sent me an apn config, which I accepted, nothing solved, so I tried to switch to GSM only, and my phone stopped working I can make emergency calls only, my sim works fine on other phones, It's not connecting to 3G neighter. My imei is the same to the one in the sticker, and my SN is not 000000.
Every thread I read was about wrong imei or empty SN, and after a flashing, in my case it stopped working sudenly, I already tried to hard reset and flash another stock rom.
Any ideas?

Go to settings>>wireless and network settings>>mobile network >> network operator >> select automatically...!!

Thanks but that didn't work, it list 3 operators, wont connect, and automatic says connected but still stuck in emergency only, and calls say not registered on network, I get full signal and a quick try to 911 worked fine
Added: Im ariza patched but the problem persist
Try reinstalling the modem you had originally when you got the phone

It's not available in any place, but I am downloading a rom for another operator in my country, actually the operator I am using right now, not the one who sold the phone, could it be an imei block? it's second hand but I've used it for 6 months and the problem started yesterday as I received the apn config after calling my operator
if the imei is blocked then your carrier should know so contact them
U can download the the official stock rom from sammobile. com . And flash it on your phone. Please make sure u select the correct country . This might help u.

The original rom is not available, I flashed a rom for my country but from another operator, the problem persist, it's wierd because it tells me that I have voice mail, but says emergency only, and I cannot make any call, sms or use internet

My SN is not 0000... but I patched anyway, didn't work, should it work if I get another efs somewhere?

Sorry may be I'm wrong but sounds to me like a network lock. Does it ask for network pin after restarting the device?

No, it just says emergency only in the status bar, and says "not registered on network" when trying to make a call
ADDED: I just called the original operator, they say the first owner of the phone doesn't have any pending payments, so it's there is no imei lock due to non-payment, however I have a chinese phone, and I would not explain due to xda rules but the chinese phone would not connect when I make it "look similar" to my s3. It's not reported as stolen nieghter, it just happened as I asked my operator for help with the internet access and received and apn config.

of course, and my sim works in any other phone, It reads my contacts and tells me I have voicemail
EFS folder is unique for each phone. It stores IMEI number and other relevant information about it.
There is no way to duplicate it from another unit, logically i mean, because it will be right it. A duplicate from other phone. And the operator can ban your's from registering in their network anytime.

My idea was to buy a motherboard and transfer the folder and discard the mobo instead of exchanging the entire mobo as I don't want to harm anythinng inside, but it sounds that exchanging the mobo is the only way right? BTW Im not totally sure if this is an efs/imei problem, I am the third owner of this phone and internet stopped working for 2 days and when I changed from "3G only" to "3G/GSM", it stopped working at all
I am facing this issue. Any solutions?

I flashed WanamLite v6.8. After flashing I lost calling facility.
later I realized my IMEI was changed. I was kinda of hopeless. Tried whatever I could have tried for. At last I gave up. I unrooted and made binary number back to 0 and flashed stock firmware. Still I didn't find anything working. I gave my i9300 at service centre. Got it repaired. Thanks for asking.
I've updated my i9300 international to 4.3 mj9 and mk6
and I get no sim installed on s4 revolution custom rom, and both original roms, i tried downgrading to 4.2.2 too.
I tried Ariza patch on all of it. but to no avail
The patch downloading stucked at 0/100.
I tried different modems such as "Modem DDEMG2" "modem_XXDME4__"
And still I got stucked with the "no sim detected"
Can i have any help here. Cheers.

Yeah I've tried different SIMs that hold different carriers too. Tried almost everything I searched on Google. :/
It was once working on 4.3 with Ariza's patch, until I re flashed the Stock Firmware yesterday.
But as I read the forums Ariza's patch isn't working anymore It just gives me "0/100 Patch Downloading. Please Wait."

I did that too. I flashed each and every modem/kernel everybody said that was 100% working from a google doc page.
I think it's your baseband issue. Can you see your baseband version?

If you know the basics and failed you need a service centre repair all the information is posted .
Basics like modem CSC efs1 OR EFS 2 apn SETTINGS ARE ALL WORTH CHECKING BEFORE PAYING FOR A REPAIR .

If your, Imei, Serial No, Baseband is working but it shows no sim card, im afraid it's not software issue. Get it check with a technician.

The last thing that detected my SIM was after flashing mk6 modem again. It detected it for awhile, and suddenly it just pop as no sim inserted.
I guess it might be a sudden hardware problem?

My Mega6.3 GT-I9200 [XXUAMED] XSG BOUGHT IT FROM UAE...
In March 18 OTA Update it got in to some Problem.[Boot loop]
I was not rooted. No EFS backup..
Then I tried to Flash My Stock ROM..with Odin3.09 it flashed well..
but showing BASEBAND UNKNOWN with NULL ...IMEI Number...
I tried all updates of [XSG-region] but same thing Happened....
Then I approched service Centre....[Private]
They have done it with BASEBAND Version : I9200XXUCML1 with 4.2.2
KERNEL VERSION : 3.4.0

Now I am getting only EDGE/GPRS....

I am having one BSNL SIM and AIRCEL sim
While selecting Network Opertors it is not showing any of the service provider.
Then I will do search networks
it will start searching nothing will comeout.
sometimes willl show Cellone,IDEa,airtel
If I am putting BSNL Sim ...sometimes it will not registering on the network.
sometimes it will register...then I can make outgoing call...but Incoming I am not getting....its getting forwarded...
aircel is not at all showing for selecting...
Help me.....

I think now you can install TeamWin Projects (TWRP). Because it is your own scared about IMEI..

One day night full I got 3g...the very next day it starts with searching network problem...
If I m changing SIM to other phone it works well but slight coverge prob is there...
I want to do a try with my stock modem ...I dont know it will work or not...

BASEBAND unknown....
Before flashing I made backup with TWRP with EFS,without EFS
and EFS but no one is restoring my EFS.
You may have provided the wrong modem. Flash the one I sent you earlier.

Thank u silesh....both came back.
The network problem is still there.
Is there any other way to rectify this.
Actually in my other phone while searching networks
almost all service providers r showing. But in mega
Only 3 r listing. Bsnl,airtel,spice....earlier before the problem starts mega
also was able to show all providers.
Also I want to ask some doubts abt slimkat.
1. While making calls screen goes off. In stock ROM some
option was there to change.
2. While setting wallpaper it will show properly. After some
time the wallpaper will zoom somewhat.
Anything to correct...

Friends I'm in a trouble.
I was using Cynogenmod 11 and that time my Network was fine ... as soon as I restored my stock Rom (4.1.2) , I lost my network ... when I make calls ... a pop-up message appears "Not Registered on Network" . Manually Selecting the network also doesn't work. In Phone status ... it show NO SERVICE
My Previous IMEI Number was 353**************** and now it has changed to 0049*****************
I'm not able to make calls or recieve it ... PLEASE HELP
