[Q] Droid Incredible 4G LTE Need Root Help - Verizon HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE

Hello fellow developers,
I am in need of some assistance. I need to root a lot of devices (Incredible 4G LTE Verizon) for my business. I have gone through all of the posts and threads and I am still unable to root this device. I get to the point where I need to go to the HTC dev website but as we all know they no longer support this device. Has anyone succefully rooted there device and if so are they willing to share how they did this. Please help

The answer lies entirely on which build version is in the phone. The only known rootable version is 2.17.605.2 (a.k.a the "First OTA").
If your phone(s) have this build, do NOT allow the latest OTA to install. Root them immediately. Several methods are available, just refer to the resource index for your desired method. I highly recommend s-off, regardless of which method you choose.
If you have the prior build version, 1.43.605.3, then MANUALLY install the 2.17.605.2. RUU, Root immediately thereafter. Make sure you kill the ability for the OTA to be checked/installed.
If you have the latest version, 2.19.605.2, it is unknown at this time how to root...

[Q] Best Way To Go About Rooting

Hello! i am relatively new to the android phone rooting community (more of a linux/server person) and i was wondering if anybody could assist me in choosing the best way to root my htc thunderbolt (verizon)? My android version is 2.3.4, HTC sense is 2.1, and the software number is 2.11.605.5. Also are there any risk's/cons that i should consider that could possibly outweigh rooting at all? thanks! any help is really appreciated
The best thing is to look thru the development section. There is plenty of info readily available. As to rooting search "revolutionary" but make sure you dont update your phone to the new thunderbolt update thats out 2.11605.9, that cant be rooted yet..

ATT one x rooting

i need someone to help me out. im new to android. although im not a newbie in the sense that i have some technical savvy to pull this off with the proper guidance, im just new to android and rooting in general.
i cant seem to find the information i need in one location and without bricking my phone. So if anyone can answer these question for me.
1. i have an att variant One X, can i root it? firmware 2.2
2. can i install Cyanogen10 with jellybean 4.2.
3. can i revert back if i dont like or it ATT gets off their behind and releases JB for my phone.
4. is it fairly easy to root?
5. how? i cant seem to find a definitive guide.
TIA.

[Q] need some guide.

Hello humans, I'm from sgh-i337 and since Everything is so different so I need a complete guide to flash 4.4.2 venom one on pure stock 4.4.2 htc one. I looked around this forum for two days but I still can't understand the steps. The phone is basically pure stock, no s-off or unlocked bootloader. Also, an unbrick method will be very helpful just in case. I respect htc one devs and i am thankful to them for making a better world. So, if someone could help me step by step, it will be very thankful.
Please, the turorial about rooting and custom recovery in 'T-mobile HTC One general' appears to be last edited in 2013 and i don't think it will work on 4.4.2 kitkat. or please at least tell me whether that method works.

Rooting Sonim XP8

Hi, I'm new to this community. I have experience jailbreaking my iphone, but I am unfamiliar with how the different rooting applications work across multiple platforms (e.g. are they universal). I was thinking of buying a Sonim XP8 because it has a bunch of interesting features that I haven't seen on mainstream phones. However, I am not willing to buy one unless I am able to root it. Is my dream possible?
I too would like an XP8 with root. Is there anyone who can help with this request per chance?

I did read somewhere (on XDA) that someone rooted the XP7 with kingoRoot, but....that's all I've found.

I tried kingoroot, and it failed. I haven't been able to find any options either. Hopefully, someone has some ideas. I have come to rely on root to block ads. They are beyond horrible.
any update yet? is there any root yet ive tried about every root apps i cant even find working drivers for this phone
Sonim xp8 dual sim issue
When i put 2 sim cảd to the device but only 1 work
I talked to Sonim about getting root access as there is a problem with my Xp3800 flip and I know its just a xml edit. They told me the phone cannot be rooted as its encrypted and has secure boot which makes sense as these are geared towards public safety
Hello Everyone,
I'm new to the forum and have been reading old posts to get current on the state of the collective effort here. Though I'm looking to contribute overall anyway I can, my current short term goal is to get hotspot working with my current carrier (Mint) with the used XP8 I purchased. The handset was originally an AT&T phone and came with the Android 8 update installed.
At the moment, I'm attempting to get the 10 firmware update hoping that might solve the hotspot issue, but I suspect that it's the carrier specific software baked into the image that's the real cause.
Today I reached out to AT&T and, despite not being a customer, they claimed to have allowed my phone (By IMEI) to get access to the 10 update. We'll see if it actually works as the tech indicated that it would take two hours for the authorization to propagate. If so, I'll attempt to pull off the firmware and share it.

Mid 2019 and no free new method to unlock DNA?

Hi world
Im just a newbie here.
And i recently got a used Droid dna
With the version 4.09.605.8
That's what i can afford for the moment
Stock official rom. No root, no s-off, no unlocked boot
I read a lot of old threads before posting this one
And all the answers were pointing to a payed tool called sunshine or moonshine
In My country we can't even have access to an international payement card and 25$ is a lot lot of money. So you could see THE REAL CAN COME A DREAM not the Dream Come true.
Im wondring if there is a free way or tool could help me to root my phone and install a twrp recovery so i will be able to make backup and a lot of stuff
Please tell if Im in the right thread
And what are the safe steps to root my phone etc
Still no answer
