[Q] Black update heating the phone and draining the battery - Nokia Lumia 920

I was quite happy with my Lumia 920 and eagerly installed the Black update the other day.
But soon I started to notice serious heating problems from time to time at the upper part where the GSM chip is located, accompanied by quick battery drain (from 90%+ to 15% in a few hours, without doing anything but a few calls and some email checking).
I changed max speed from 4G to 3G and stopped all background tasks, disabled tap&send, but nothing made any noticable difference.
Then I noticed on my Femto Cell (a mini in-hous GSM transceiver) the 'connected' light was on while my phone had a working WiFi connection at the same time. This indicated that the GSM was on while I had a WiFi connection. Only rebooting the phone would disconnect the 3G and use just WiFi. But after some time and using the phone, the 3G connection would come back on (light on the Femto Cell turns on) and the heating and draining would start again.
This looks to me like a serious bug in my (hardware revision 6.5.0.2) Lumia 920!
Anyone else experiencing this with the Black update?

lumia 820 high battery drain after black update
After upgrading from Amber to black I have high battery drain and heating up near the camera lens on the lumia 820, my wife has the same phone and the same problem after the update.
It seems as if Nokia aren't listening as several people have posted same issue on the Nokia community and no-one from Nokia has replied, I don't know where to go from here as many people have said a hard reset does not fix the issue and I don't want to have to re-setup my phone and lose all data!!!

Yes, looks like we're not alone with this issue. I can assure you, none of the usual tricks will fix this. No hard reset, no background tasks disable, no 3G or 2G max speed setting, etc.

not on my phone... working much better and battery last longer... but i make hard reset before upgrade to Black... not after....
also not use any battery status apps... this c**ps of software was drain batery on my lumia 920...

I know, certainly not every 920 has this issue but there are too many people reporting similar issues to ignore. Some of my colleagues having a 920 have no problem, others have similar issues.
BTW: What is the hardware revision of your Lumia 920? Mine is 6.5.0.2.

Small difference, but could be something...
Others having 6.5.0.2 without battery drain issues?

same here in France after switching from SFR to BOUYGUE TELECOM. more than 2 days before the switch and less than one day after the switch)
A matter of provider ?

Same issue, same h/w revision

I also have the 6.5.0.2 hardware revision WITH the battery drain issue
The thing is, I sent my phone back to Nokia for assessment.. they deemed the battery was faulty - charged me $90 for a replacement battery, and now a few weeks later I'm having the same issue again...
Really starting to get annoyed.

I am beginning to suspect a design error in specific hardware models. There are too many people with battery drain issues to ignore. At the same time many people seem to have no problem.
Have you tried to revert back to an older firmware version? That could make a difference... I will try it when I find some spare time.

I agree, there is something not right.
No I haven't tried an older firmware version. Wouldn't that require flashing the phone? Although, my phone has been back to Nokia roughly 3-4 times now, and each time it comes back with a different firmware. I've had the system board replaced, lcd assembly replaced, battery replaced and something else I believe.
You'd think after all these repairs I'd have a phone that actually works correctly...

So... after all this you are still having the same problem???
Must be 'user error' then.... An installed app is causing the drain most probably. I bet you have WhatsApp installed??
Rule number 1... DON'T USE WHATSAPP!!!! It will drain your battery in next to no time.....
My 920 has been perfect from Day 1. I have had none of the problems or battery drain that have been posted here or on other forums. As I said 'user error'....

No, it's not a user error - I have uninstalled all my apps and my battery is still crap. So I put my apps back on because you know, what's the point of having a smartphone if you haven't got any apps...
And no, I actually don't have WhatsApp installed...
By the way, too many users have reported these issues - so it can't just be 'user error'. Some people do get Lumia's that are perfect, others do not, that's just how it is.

Correct. One scenario I've tested is a hard reset and just the default setup (only added WiFi and mobile network). Also did full discharge/charge cycle. Battery drain was about 1% better with no apps and no (non-system) background tasks, but still a lot higher than acceptable.
And of course, until recently my 920 worked flawless with all the apps and background tasks active...

I find that I have more issue with heating when using the Qi charging plates as the phone can be warm when removed from the plate. After several successive uses the phone does not cool entirely and this is when I notice a much faster battery drain during moderate use (excluding gaming which is always warms up the phone and drains the battery). Charging the phone with the USB adapter on occasion seems to calm the phone down and it is cool after completely charging.
Hope this helps.

I also stopped using the wireless charging stand as I noticed the phone was getting hot, and also I seem to be getting a somewhat slightly better battery life with a USB connection.

Battery Woes, extremely hot device!

Hi guys, I finally sorted my issues with the disappearing radio, but now it seems I have another issue.
Starting 2 days ago my battery just started draining like crazy, I'm lucky to get an hour or 2 of use out of the thing.
I noticed when I plug it in to charge it it takes forever and the device gets extremely hot. The battery is so hot you can almost burn yourself when you touch it. Maybe its just my imagination, but it seems to swell slightly when it gets very hot as well.
Obviously I have stopped using my device as I am worried about the battery catching fire after all the Lion battery issues lately.
Just wondering if anyone else had experienced this? Is the battery covered by any type of warranty?
I'm sure I need a new battery and I'm hoping that will fix the issue, hopefully its not some internal problem that is causing it to overheat.
Thanks in advance,
-Kai
Have you backed up your device and hard reset to rule out any software issues? I've run into this before, and there was something running on my device that cause the battery to drain VERY quickly. Never figured out what it was, but after a hard reset and reinstall, everything was fine.
I've had similar issues since putting black 3.01 on, draining anyway, not overheating as yet. I have stopped the battery draining by instaling Daniel Herrero's Bandswitch and setting it to gsm during the day, it seems to switch between gprs and hsdpa more frequently now with 3.01 which drains the battery enormously. Havent done a hard reset yet though.
you should feel my battery after tethering for hours, sigh....
Hmmm, mine spends half the day tethered at work, no heat issues thus far (apart from one time I left it under my pillow (too much Jack) and the heat woke me up (Not a great way to ease into a hangover)). I only ever have battery drain issues.
Yeah I dont think its a software issue as I have done several hard resets, and tried it with a couple of different Rom's and radio's, with no other software installed.
As for the 3g draining the battery, I have my phone set to only use Quadband, not UMTS or 3G.
I'm hoping to pick up a new battery tomorrow and maybe that will solve my problem.
I wonder if I might be able to get a new battery for free from HTC? I'm going to send them an email and see what they say.
-Kai
same problem here
Hey invictive,
i have the same problem, and am also thinking about buying a new battery. plz let me know how the new battery work.
thx
I've just had the same problem. It was red hot in my belt clip & bat low warning.
Mines only 3 months old, been fine until now.
There were a lot of apps running incldung camera & wifi.
I'm going to charge again & close all apps, see if its ok.
had the same problem with my first tytn. called htc support (germany) and they told me that this behavior is not normal (obvious)
i recieved a free replacement, allthough i had to send in my tytn and not only the battery.
edit:
it was even worse with wifi turned on...

New firmware: actually worsens battery performance

In my case, after updating to new firmware and software my battery full capacity indicator has become sort of crazy (for the worst).
Before updating I got a solid 1390 mAh always. Now It depends on the day, but It never surpases the 1270 mAh. Barrier.
Today I´m getting a poor 1170 mAh.
Strange thing.
Anyone else experiencing this issue?

From my review, my battery seems to be getting better now, first week after the update, battery was dreadful, it seems to be a whole lot better now. Give it a week, if it continues, email Nokia support, since you hopefully have your warranty, they'll check and replace it if it's faulty, I'm suffering from some horrible notification bug, that's worse, getting your notification when you enter message/whatsapp...-_-
Have same problem. The last update have reduced full charge capacity from 1420 mA to 1303 mA and it's still decreasing every charge. Hope is's soft bug, otherwise nokia should exchange killed batteries phones.
Nokia says not to trust their diagnostics tool when it comes to degrading capacity. The battery should be fine anyway unless it reports less than 1000mAh.
Nokia's biggest mistake was making the Diagnostics available to every user. Now everybody thinks Nokia stole their precious mAh...
Note: It doesn't even matter the update gave us some hours in autonomy.
Yep. Without it most users would actually enjoy their phones.
So the Diagnostics tool gives a bad reading?
Today, when I plugged the charger off, the charge percent inmediately went down from 100% to 98%. Maybe there´s some kind of software bug thay doesn´t give the real battery performance.
P.S.: I actually enjoy my phone. Love it.

This happened to me also this morning. Took my phone off charge, unlocked it and then was at 98% but going to keep an eye on it throughout the day. I got roughly 15 hours use yesterday and 5 hours of that was when i was at work.
I am getting terrible battery life after the update. 100 % at last mid night. By the morning it is at 85%. It seems the battery life got worsen by a 40 % decrease before the update.
Should I restore my Lumia 800?
I get weird battery issue on my latest 800. About every second charge the battery drains very fast doing nothing. The next charge it is fine. Next after that it can drain. And so it goes. Something fishy with software indeed. It was preloaded with 11501 from factory so I have not updated myself.
Nokia need to take a detailed look at this. As it is now they fully think the issue is fixed when in face it is not. As the topic implies it actually made things worse compared to old firmware. Those 15% charge that were lost in old firmware it lasted longer anyway because it had no drain.

I have made a factory reset just for the heck of it. Also I have recently started rebooting my phone with the charger plugged after every charge and then unplug when it is booted again. So far no drain after doing so but too early to make any conclusions.
I reseted the phone on a charge cycle with drain and after the reset the drain stopped. So something weird is going on. Hadn't really installed apps etc... syncing/location etc off...

Unfortunately I do not even have the good days result. After I updated my Lumia to .11500 my battery drains really quick with doing nothing. Before going to sleep I had about 60%, waking up it was empty, in 6 hours! Before I could last about 1.5 days with my phone. Hardly 10 hours with normal use. 3G on but wifi and bt off.
Does anyone know how to change this or to change it back to the earlier version of software?
I love this phone and its OS, but the battery consumption is just wrong!
Thanks.

Same issue with battery drain. Not that frequent though. Two times in two weeks. It´s random I think. Thing is that I´ve noticed that it has occurred when the phone shows maximum than my average battery capacity.
Normally phone shows 1170 mAh when fully charged. Strangely enough I get a very decent battery life. More than 24 hours with normal to heavy use.
But today it showed 1370 mAh fully charged and it´s not passed 12 hour barrier.

Since I made that factory reset the drain has not come back so far. Now I get good battery life and it's usually at 70% when I go to sleep at nights with moderate use throughout the day.
Is this what everyone is doing for best battery or is it just me?
Used to get heavy drain when I get the mobile:
I had to do below:
1) Location services off - i use very low though.
2) Removing people tile
3) Display brightness - LOW
4) Settings->Applications->Games->Connect to Xbox LIVE-> OFF
(with ON, used to drain battery alot atleast for me)
5) Settings->Background tasks->Weather->Off
(not sure of this, but I don't use it so I switched off)
6) Removing XBox Live Tile (In fact all live tiles like App Highlights etc...)
7) Date+time -> Set automatically -> OFFFF (I don't think we need it unless we go to other country)
8) Phone Update -> Turn off notifications
By the way,
I use push email outlook on always

What to do. Now a days all smart phones come with great features and poor battery life.
By the way, anybody knows how to turn off fast dormancy in our lumia 800? I used to get much better battery life by turning off fast dormancy in android phones ( obviously my network is not supporting the feature though)

So you're limiting the phones key features for a battery problem? Why not contact Nokia? I must be honest, if Nokia were to tell me to switch off so many features of my phone, I would tell them to kindly p*** off, as I've had many phones before it that didn't pose a problem like this, if it's a fault, they should act to it, not make you rectify their mistakes. At the end of the day, if you broke your phone accidently, would they fix it for you? So why should you?

[Q] Lumia 800 Battery life

Hi Guys,
My lumia 800 on 100% charging shows the remnaing battery 1240 mAh and full capacity at 1470 mAh.
If I keep the power source even after 100% of charge, the remaining batter capacity is getting increated from 1240 mAh.
I am confused whether I should keep on charging it even after 100% charge or not?
if you put your lumia in bed while being charged, you'll found something amazing
Please explain.
I think they're trying to say 'charge your phone while you sleep'.
If not, then they might need a therapist.
Getting the new firmware this weekend at nokia care. Will see the performance after that. Currently i am getting 12-15 hours with edge is always on.

Hi,
I always see people using the diagnostic tool "battery status". I've a "Detailed Battery Info" - section in the diagnostic tools too, and there are much more informations including a (as far as I know) never discussed "StateOfHealth".(see attached picture 1) I myself have no problems with my battery at all, and my value of StateofHealth is at 858. Interesting to know, what values people have, that claim problem with battery.

Lumia 800 Battery Life
With regard to the above comments, when i got the phone the battery life was so so. After downloading the latest firmware update it seemed to get a lot worse. One day it didn't make it all the way through & that was after just a handful of phone calls and a handful of texts. So I did the hard reset & suddenly the battery was great. I was using the battery saver admittedly (owing to the loss of confidence) but last night it reported I still had one and a half days charge left and had used about 30%. I would therefore very strongly recommend doing a hard reset once you have the latest update. I know it's a bind but if like me you have all your contacts and calendar synced to Outlook via the Outlook connector it's not so bad. The contacts & calendar just reappeared on the phone as if by magic once I put my Hotmail password in. I'll obviously be monitoring the battery for a while because it let me down at work before I reset it, but I'm pleased to say that I love it again now & would recommend it to anyone. It's a gorgeous phone.
Okey. Here are some numbers. We like numbers, as they don't lie or making things up.
Before factory reset my Current (Discharging) was around 180.
After factory reset it finds itself around 140.
I've tried with and without wifi, with and without data connection, both before and after the factory reset.
I guess it's like someone mentioned. Some application got stuck and caused the battery drain.
I'm going to reinstall my apps I had before and after each installation check the battery drain to see wich application is causing it.
A good OS shouldn't encounter problems like this. Nokia and Microsoft needs to work on the stability. The Lumia 800 AND the OS has a great potential but still lacks on several functions and stability.
I don´t have this problems.
I charged my phone yesterday evening (22 hours ago)
and still have 75% and 1d 5h left.
I phoned a little bit an was a few times online (Wlan)
Browser and Marketplace
The Phone is new and I hope the battery will get better.
I updated it, before testing batterylife on old version.
But it isn´t as good as my last phone:
my htc Trophy made about 5 Days if i used it like my lumia now
I don´t installed the app you all use to test your battery
(sometimes i think this is the app, that drains your battery,
because it is not wp7 that needs a lot of battery, my last wp7 phone had a small battery an very long live)
and...
.. i have no problem with loose buttons.
Factiry reset
Well I finaly took the plunge and did the reset. I now have a normal working battery (at least for now). Wish I had done this earlier.
I strongly recommend that anyone with battery problems does the same.

I have got a massive increase in battery life and am not quite sure how.
I uninstalled the diagnostics app and it seemed to go downhill from there (sure it's a coincidence though). At this point battery life was a joke, couldn't get through the day with light use. The other change at the same time that could have had an effect was switching to use the Nokia charger rather than the one from my Galaxy S.
I reinstalled the diagnostics app and also turned 3G off (work and home both have wifi). However, I have now turned it back on, and since then battery life is much better and the phone now easily gets through the day.
Maybe try toggling 3G off for a day and an overnight charge and turn it back on and see if it makes a difference.
There is something wrong at the driver level with this phone I'm sure.
My phone has been fine ever since the battery life jumped up, it's not a fluke.
I made 27 hours with heavy usage (wifi+3g+games+constant fb)
Mine has made 3 days and 14 hours (Not that heavy usage. Mostly texting and some calls) and it's got 18% left.
OK,
I read too much different views...
Tomorrow my new Lumia is coming
I am able to check it before do the payment.
So, what I have to do? To look in the menu for diagnostic tool or to dial ##634#?
Is it that the right combination?
Or just to pay it and to let it die without battery, then hoping to turn itself on with good battery life?
Please give me some advise..!

Have you noticed what app was causing it? Before my restore i had 14-17h left according to the phone. After the reset i had 36h left according to the phone...now 3 days later i´m back at 16h. It lasted for 2 days the good battery life...

Shuts off randomly. Is this a swollen battery?

Hi,
I have a GT-I9100, running CM10. This has been working great for weeks (since first CM10 experimental). Some time back I started experiencing problems while charging, and I thought it was a faulty charge port. This problem magically "solved" itself, but now I am experiencing random shutt off, freezes, part of the screen going black before it turns off completely. Some times I get to the boot animation, some times it turns off and works for a while, before shutting off again. Tried a complete wipe/factory reset, to no avail. The battery stats also seems pretty random, going from ~70% to ~10% after turning off and on again.
I was reading here (http://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-3152 (I don't own a T-mobile)), and it said this could be caused by a faulty battery. I have taken some photos of the battery here: http://imgur.com/a/FVyK0 ... To me it seems that it could be some visible swelling to the battery, but I don't have anything to compare it with. Any opinions??
And could a "faulty" battery be the cause to these problems (which to me seems to be software related)?
Which kernel are you running?

1. the battery is a little swollen at the middle
2. use a thin a paper to support the battery to ensure proper contact with the gold pins. this might resolve the random shutdown issue
Did you undervolt and/or underclock CPU and/or GPU? If yes, less aggressive values may help.
The crazy battery percentage can be solved by charging your phone to 100%, then clear battery stats and reset your fuel-gauge chip.
Tell me if this helped or not.

I installed the latest CM10 build today, 10-20120821-EXPERIMENTAL-i9100-CODEWORKX, kernel 3.0.15-CM-gea1d0d7, baseband I9100XXLQ6. I have however experienced these problems on other CM10 builds, but before I started experience them, I was running CM10 without any problems.. I could downgrade to CM9 and check I guess...

I don't think it's in any danger, it happens in old Nokia phones. I personally experienced this in my old n95.
It looks like as a result of too much heating, maybe

I have been checking out calibration, but there seems to be some diverging information. Should I charge it 100% while using it, or while off? Should I first drain the battery? And what do you mean by "reset fuel-gauge chip"?
As you can see, these battery stats don't seem right: http://imgur.com/Xnv6W.png

Wow that's the exact same thing happen to me.
The phone would shuts off by itself at random battery percentage. then I try to turn it back on, sometimes it just shuts right off.
At other time it would continue running with the battery slowly increasing. The graph of battery usage is really similar to yours. It would have those "valley of death" and then comes back alive as a short lived battery.
I am trying the battery reset by draining the battery until the phone really cannot be turned on (even the monitors), take off the battery for 2 minutes, charge it while it's off, unplug as soon as it reaches 100%, charge it till 100% again. I have read other thread saying that the taking out the battery part is at the end of the charging (100%), not at the beginning (0%). So I don't know which one is correct way to reset the battery.
Before update, I did not experience this prob, but only really hot cellphone while charging and fast draining battery even with 2x battery apps. Well, I had like 100+ apps, so it's understandable, but now, I have a very few apps (10+) but it's doing this magic trick to me.
Oh, and I noticed my battery is swollen and bulged at the middle too.
Anyone has an answer if it is a battery problem or just my mind going crazy?
I'm having exactly the same problem while running CM9. However i've noicted that the same thing happens while running stock as well. No overclocking or undervolting here.
My battery is swollen as yours is as well. Could it be a faulty battery?
Looks like it was the battery after all.
The service centre lady told me that my battery was FUBAR. Bought a new one and the problem seems to have disappeared.
She said it happens because of overcharging. Is that true? Thank god the battery was cheap.
It was the battery for sure. Ive been getting amazing battery life ever since I bought the new one. No more unexpected shut downs or any of the problems i was having.

Glad to hear that's what the problem was

I have a Sprint Galaxy SII (Epic 4G Touch) and have been having the same issues. My battery is also swollen and I have been trying software fixes for a couple of weeks. I ordered a new battery and am glad to find that your very similar problem was solved that way.
Thanks for posting about this!

[Troubleshoot]My Galaxy S2 is draining battery very fast!

Hello XDA,i bought my Samsung Galaxy S2,two months back, around end of november.Since then,i had a 1650 mAh battery and the XXLSJ JB leak.I thought it was normal to do that for a leaked firmware,so i switched to 4.0.4 (stock firmware, from england aka XEU).That didn't solve the problem either.I struggled for about 2 months, installing custom ROM's,Kernel's,verifying wakelocks on BBS,rooting,SetCPU,everything that i found out on google. My friends said it was the battery's fault.3 Days ago,i bought the 2000 mAh battery kit (wich comes with the 2000 mAh battery, and the expanded case).I've upgraded to 4.1.2 since it was released 7 days ago for Nordic Countries (NEE) and it still didn't fix it.A week ago,i've tried a market app called "Battery Calibration".It somewhat worked. Now,i'm on the 3rd reformat of the battery and it's still draining as before. What is happenning?May it be a hardware problem? It also gets hot on top, near the camera...
Maybe you have too many services running, maybe the reception in your area is poor, maybe you have wifi-bluetooth-gps constantly running, maybe your brighness is set the max and you play all day, maybe it's a hardware fault....
Post your battery screenshots will help alot. Post both screens plus display running time. BBS info will also help.

First of all.Everything i do,it's draining battery,wi-fi is always on when i'm at home.I chat very often when i'm at home on WhatsApp.Bluetooth and GPS is always off.Brightness is always set on Automatic and i don't play that often.I categorize my phone at about medium usage.
About BBS screenshots and Battery ones, look.
EDIT:
Right now,i'm using NeatROM Lite 4.3 with PhilZ Kernel.
That's your 2000 mAh battery?
Make it outta the box and claim warranty, go with the excuse that gets hot near the camera (which is scary) and tell them that you need a device that can hold at least 12 hours.

You don't get it.It always has been like that. The hot near the camera issue was present since 1650 mAh battery.Must say i bought the phone Second-Hand,no warranty,no nothing.
I think that ur battery is fake. Or you should restore our phone.

You need to nuke script so you can clean all previous ROMs leftovers.
60% chance it'll work.

It was on 2.3.5 when i bought it..I don't know if it had the same problem or not..My girlfriend has a Samsung SII and she gets a 1d life outta 1650 mAh battery.I don't get it why i get less since she has no Auto-Brightness and she constantly talks with me on Whatsapp and listens to music sometimes. She also plays games, and she still gets atleast 1d battery life.
I've heard this happening to phones after water damage
If both stock and extended batteries don't do it, plus the warm spot near the camera - I suspect it to be hardware fault.
Edit: try to sell it for parts (or...) and get another phone. This probably will require to chang the main PCB.

Never trust previous owners, they all been here at xda.
You GF gets a day out of it because she's a girl, girls always get a day.
Nuke it up, you should be looking at 2 days with 7 hours of screen.
Hell, I get 4,5 in a day and a 1/2.

Same problem, bro :/
Gosh, I have had this problem too as long as I have had my phone and I'm so tired of this constant charging
I haven't nuked my phone like Gastonw was suggesting but now that I know there's such a thing I probably will. I'll post my battery stats too if anyone knows what to do if the nuke doesn't work. I hope I and everybody else that has this problem finally gets the answer.
Edit: Also I'm running the samsung 4.1 update, rooted and as you can see I almost haven't used the phone today and still only got 11-12 hours of battery lifetime.

Well, I have been thinking of buying a new battery (either the stock 1650mAh or the 2000mAh) but when I was running the stock samsung 4.0.4 firmware the most battery draining process was ''google services'' or something like that so I thought there was a problem with the software and so I didn't buy a new battery. I checked was anyone else having the same problem and it seemed to be a common bug. Some people where experiencing it on 2.3 and some on 4.0 but i didn't found an answer. When I heard that the 4.1 update was out I wished that it would fix the battery draining and kinda it did because no more the ''google services'' was draining all the battery but now it's the screen (which I know it should be) but even know that the software seems to be all good, battery still drains just as fast so just buying a new battery might fix my problem... and it hopefully does.

Battery life comes with good settings.
I got lucky there, 5.4 hours is a good number. Today I'm at 33% looking at 3.5 hours screen time. If I keep my screen on from now on i'll get to 4.4 hrs for sure. Now...good screen time right? Well...I AM gonna have to CHARGE it TODAY!
The thing is to catch the drainer "in the act" with betterbatterystats and once you've done that, you're off the hook.
This is the "where's the charger era", we all need to embrace that, so when we suddenly get 2 days outta 'em we can brag & giggle.
The day will come...where we will be able to charge our devices in 15 minutes and battery will last a week.....

Please perform a factor reset. I was also having the same issue, a factory reset made everything normal.
tip - backup imp data like contacts, messages and everything from your internal memory.

heavy usage
as i see it, you are a heavy user.
also the 4.1.2 official roms have a media scanner issue. you can search xda for the fix, but it willl just shorten the wakeup time.
best to avoid heat from the battery/phone. if it's heating up, it's probably working hard.
also check your network signal, sometimes when the signal is weak, the phone does extra work to search for a signal.
follow the previous post.. try to install a new fresh rom. make sure to wipe everything.
turn off all animations for 4.1.2
check your widgets so that they won't refresh. set it to manual refresh.
good luck!
