[Q] XT912 Wont flash with rsd lite - Motorola Droid RAZR

I need help with my razr. I ended up just going to safestrap and wipe my phone because i wanted a fresh start thinking that it would only do a factory reset. Well i thought wrong, my whole phone is wiped, no operating system, no anything. I rebooted it and now I am only able to access the fastboot menu. I went to flash it to stock with RSD Lite, everything was working but when it got after the system.img (12/15) it just stopped and said it failed. I thought i had the wrong .xml file so i downloaded another one but it did the same thing. This is what the screen of my phone says:
Code:
[FONT="System"]AP Fastboot Flash Mode (S)
0A.66
Device is LOCKED. Status Code: 0
Battery OK
OK to Program
Transfer Mode:
USB Connected[/FONT]
I thought maybe the "Device is LOCKED. Status Code: 0" had something to do with it but i don't know. I've tried the command "Fastboot oem get_unlock_data" and this shows up:
Code:
[FONT="System"]c:\Android\sdk\platform-tools>fastboot oem get_unlock_data
...
FAILED <remote: unsupported command>
finished. total time: 0.002s[/FONT]
If anyone could help with what .xml i need to flash a whole new system to my phone, if the phone needs to say "Device is UNLOCKED" for it to work, use a different program to flash with, or if i just have one hella expensive brick. It would be highly appreciated and you would be my new best friend if you can help.

What Fastboot file you are trying to flash?
And what rom was on the phone before the brick?

What do you recommend?

fastboot continue don't work for him
He needs to reset the fail status, anyway that should only be possible succeeding a flash.

I have the similar with topicstarter problem.
Every time I rebooting my device it boots in bootloader mode and I have to manualy boot it Normal boot mode.
I thought there is no solution, but you advised this:

maybe you need someone to get it, or you need to remove battery and insert again.

error fastboot flash recovery due to reboot

Hi,
I have an AT&T Atrix 4G and I wanted to imstall CM7.2.
I had the latest Atrix Android version on it. Then I followed the instruction at the cyanogemod wiki for the atrix. So I flashed the sbf (cyanodenmod wiki -> Motorola_Atrix_4G:_Full_Update_Guide).
The rsd lite flashing didn't succeed because the atrix rebooted and the programm couldn't switch into BP passtrougth, or so.
At this point the device said something about 0x1000 no bootloader, but I could choose between rsd, fastboot and the other possibilities.
I booted into the fastboot mode and did an oem unlock. Now it says unlocked.
I booted again into the fastboot mode, and now it should be a simple
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recover.img
.
But:
Windows) it always says:
Code:
sending 'recovery' (4824 KB)... OKAY [ 0.453s]
writing 'recovery'... FAILED (status read failed (Too many links))
after that the device reboots and is in a boot loop
so i tried linux)
The first time i tried the command everythings worked fine, but after reboot i chose
Code:
android recovery mode
, but after a while (secs) the device rebooted.
so went to fastboot again, but now the device reboots after the sending command and then it says writing failed because of no device
Thats my story
I don't know what to do, because I am frightened to make something stupid; maybe I did it already.
I don't know if when I am using rsd lite to flash a complete image the phone reboots again and i have a hard brick.
It would be nice if someone has an idea to solve this problem.
BR,
rommon
You should post this in the Atrix forums.
Posted from my rooted Motorola Atrix.
sorry,
I reposted it in Atrix 4G Q&A.

Search for automatic bootloader unlocker in these forums. The program gives you an option to clear out this error. Don't worry, you are soft bricked.
MB860, CM7.2.0, Faux 026b1 1Ghz
I looked at this site, but it looks like it uses fastboot and/or rsd.
I have thoughts about that, because everytime I use fastboot the device reboots. I am frightened that rsd does this too.
That's one reason I didn't tried it yet. The second ist that I haven't the phone with me.
I also read something about, that you should flash sbf's when you already unlocked your phone. My phone is already unlocked.
Did I read over something?
By the way, I cannot boot into android and I only see shortly the "unlocked" screen.

[Q] trying to unlock motorola razr xt910

I have am using windows 7. got the latest USB drivers from motorola and the Android SDK. And get a result from D:\fastboot devices command
So it is conected OK. However when I put this command in (below) I get an error message. I copied and pasted directly from the motorola website. I am trying to unlock the phone for a friend (I normally only work on HTCs because they are the most nub friendly/forgiving) anyway moving on. What do I need to do now in order to get this done? I want to unlock the device and get the simlock off so that my friend can run this Rogers phone on Virgin. on bootloader screen the info is thus:
AP fastboot flash mode (s)
0A.74
eMMC info: Size 16G
to return to normal mode - first press power key to power down
Device is locked. Staus code: 0
Battery OK
OK to program
Transfer mode:
USB connected
And the error from the fastboot command:
D:\>fastboot oem get_unlock_data
...
FAILED (remote: unsupported command)
finished. total time: 0.007s
Am I missing a step (obviously I have to be or it wouldn't be giving me gyp) what do I need to do now? Thanks

That sucks how come? They have the device listed on the Motorola site for unlocking the device. And is there a way around it? Or do you know of any tools for calculating the simlock code so it can run on any network? Thanks and thank you for the reply
What if you put another stock rom on it?
Just flash it with RSD lite

Moto E7 Stuck In Fastboot And Won't Let Me Flash

So my buddy has a Moto E7 that randomly started crashing and then got stuck in Fastboot mode. I tried LMSA and it won't detect the phone. I have tried manually flashing, RSDlite, followed a video to turn the XML file into a bat file, and it won't let me flash anything. I've spent hours googling different methods and even looking on these forums at other devices and following those steps and have had no luck. The phone is oem locked, when I use the command fastboot getvar all almost every field is blank. The ones that aren't are just the information about the components inside and serial number. Values like imei are blank, but I have the number. When I try a command like fastboot flash logo logo.bin I get:
Sending 'logo_a' (1292 KB) OKAY [ 0.034s]
Writing 'logo_a' (bootloader) Failed to erase partition
as a response. This is the same response I get for every situation of trying to flash something and when I try to erase I get met with:
\fastboot erase userdata
Erasing 'userdata' (bootloader) Failed to erase partition
FAILED (remote: '')
fastboot: error: Command failed
What am I missing? I just get a failed response from everything. I'm guessing the internal storage isn't formatted but I can't find a solution to format it from this state, and like most things I've search it gives me what to do when I can access the phone but not what to do when the phone is stuck here.
if the bootloader is not unlocked you can't flash a rom via fastboot...

Hi, Have you already tried flashing using SP FlashTool?
Check the version of FlashTool and the ROM that LMSA downloads are correct.
In theory you should be able to flash the ROM without unlocking the bootleader. ^^'
FlashTool must be set to "Download Only" or "Firmware-Update"
"Format and flash", or something similar, delete the IMEI, which I would not want.
