Kit Kat 4.4. appears to stop Adobe Flash Player - T-Mobile HTC One (M7)

It looks like flash player ceases to work with Firefox and Dolphin which were my goto browsers until this point. Doing other searches it looks like other people were already saying it kills it officially in 4.4.
The good news is that it appears that UC Browser appears to download a plugin for Flash Player and actually does appear to work just fine. There is an app called Photon Flash Player which does appear to work somewhat but I got rid of it just to be on the safe side and will use UC Browser going forward.

I thought that you could sideload Adobe Flash Player to regain that function.

Some critical APIs have been removed from Android 4.4 that flash uses.
A great tutorial on installing flash in KitKat.

Well... That's good to know.
What a shame. I wonder how this will effect my porn browsing after I update. =\

Shouldn't have too much impact, Flash and Dolphin seem to work well.

This is why I'm not updating to 4.4 lol

That's funny. My eyes glazed right over the link you posted. I'll give it a try later.

Seems that modified flash apk is gone. Google removed it.
What do they have against Flash?

Flash Player?

Is it not possible to properly install flash player on the aria?
Ive googled around trying to find answers and everything seems to say you can just download it from the market and it will work. But it's not in the market for me, and installing it from an amp doesn't work. (Main reason I want it is to go to the full youtube instead of the crappy youtube mobile)
Ive got CM7 running on my Aria.

You can run flash lite on stock ROMs...not on CM7 (AOSP)...also, there's a youtube app, no need to use the browser...

You can install a specific version of Adobe Flash Player 10.1 on the Aria, but I doubt you will be able to use all its features to their full extent.
Adobe flashlite is the only flash that works on the aria and that requires a Sense based rom to be used. Other than that no variant of flash works on the liberty platform

You always can download the apk and install it. But my experience says that it got with every update poorer. Currently unusable.

opera mobile now has flash......BUT...

Just like the title says, but everytime I load a flash site, it crashes and goes right to my home screen. Can someone else try it out to verify its not just me??
Confirmed, same here.

Agreed, ics browser does work great, I guess I just got used to opera on cm7 and was looking forward to trying it again. I've noticed on some sites that opera does a better job of formatting the page. Guess I'll have wait til opera comes with another fix......

That's why I have Dolphin, Opera and ics browser + installed. I find that each one does something best.
What version are you on, they just put out an update to version 12 and one of the fixes in the changelog is "Added Flash support on Android 4.0.3", or are you already talking about version 12?
Yes, already talking about V12.
But it seems not to be a Touchpad specific issue. I just tested on my HTC Desire and had the same behavior there. When activating the Flash video, Opera immediately crashes.

Tried it and was able to see a flash applet but then it crashed.

Same here.. Back to 11.5.3... Even though flash does not work, it is way faster than 12 (or any other browser I've used).
The new Dolphin HD is a lot faster than the stock browser and closer to Opera Mobile 11.5.3, but Flash won't go full screen for me (it just shows a white screen) but otherwise Flash seems to work.
That's weird. I've been using Opera on my Touchpad (CM7 & CM9), my old Droid Incredible (Froyo & GB), my Transformer (HC & ICS), and my fiance's Triumph. Never had a single issue with flash.

I stand corrected. I hadn't tried it since I last flashed. Works fine on both my Transformer and Rezound (both on ICS). Touchpad resulted in instant closure of the browser. Odd. It's clearly not an ICS issue, it must be either a CM9 issue or a Touchpad driver issue.
Out of curiosity, what ROM/Kernel is everyone running? This was on CherryKang with Bricked Kernel (not the new version, my Frankenstein version lol)

That's the mobile YouTube site on opera in the first screenshot, and the youtube app on the other 2 screenshots. The mobile version doesn't use the adobe flash plugin, which appears t be the issue. Can you change your UA agent in opera settings to desktop and see if the desktop version of YouTube works? I'm sure it'll crash like the rest of us.....

Holy no-search, Batman. Go here:

Video tutorial there as well. You don't need to use the older version of Dolphin if you don't want to as Boat Browser (which is a lil faster than Dolphin) also works just fine with Flash.

There are some places that I can't watch a (flash) video using boat ...only stock.
Chrome as main browser and std stock Internet Browser when I need to watch Flash vids or stream football game, works solid esp since both can be used on multi window feature (you need to get the re-created Chrome from this thread)

Flash support?

I have tried the latest Flash apk for my device but it flickers. I'm using Firefox beta Explorer. Any suggestions or fixes for this issue?
I require flash content for certain websites so hopefully I can sort out this problem.
Thanks in advance fellow xda developer users.
I downloaded this http://download.macromedia.com/pub/...roid/11.1.115.81/install_flash_player_ics.apk
And then just installed it, works fine on Dolphin, FireFox, Chrome.

I use that ICS flash player combined with firefox beta, and it works a treat. some intensive sites take a while to load, but it works.
What ROM are you using? Its highly unlikey that you are running it.. , however Android 4.4 doesn't work with flash (has been reported)

Update. Just tried Dolphin browser and flash images don't even appear at all. They are blank/white.

I have no problems with flash, works good for me.
Try UCBrowser from google play. I have it for tablet HD it plays flash and it looks good try it
did you try opening the browser as desktop version instead of mobile? some stuff doesn't work for me but when I open it in desktop, it works. *shrugs*
