SD card issues - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've recently started having issues with my SD card, for some reason it keeps mounting itself as read only. If I unmount and then mount again, it works for a while and then stops again.
The card is a sandisk 64gb card and has around 33gb left.
Google hasn't thrown up much other than SD card issues on KitKat (I'm now running JB4.3 and not KitKat)
Any help appreciated

Improving SD Card speed

My Razr SD card transfer speed tops out at 2 MB/s whereas my previous phone (Xperia X8) used to get me speeds near 10 to 12 MB/s.
Is there any way I can improve my SD Card speeds?
I have a 16GB class 4 SD card.
Download SD read ahead or ROM toolbox. By default the Razr is at 1024, compared to 256 which the bionic had.

Do you mean the read ahead or the speed of the actual card?
The card speed can't be changed... you buy a faster card
use the app sd booster.. it lets u change the cache so your sd card will run faster.. just gota find your sdcards sweet spot.. i have mines at 2048.. i8 never go any higher than that,,

SD card mounting issues.

My SD card will not read with multiple cards.
Under storage it says insert SD card.
Is this a known issue or is it more likely my SD tray?

I haven't heard of this being a known issue, though that doesn't mean someone else hasn't had the same ting happen. I'll assume you've done a reboot to see if it is a software issue, or even a factory reset. If that doesn't fix it, I'd say it is a hardware fault.

[Q] Single Internal Partition?

Out of curiosity...
So, I came from a Galaxy Nexus to the Evo LTE. On my GNex, it had one 32GB slab of storage, and it all mounted as one device (MTP Style). The Evo obviously does not (USB Mass Storage Style). Is there a way to break this down so that it behaves similar to the Nexus?
Win7 will recognize internal as mtp, is my understanding. Add on tools are necessary to mount ext SD. Hope that helps at all.

A2sd on evo 4g lte?

Does a2sd work on this phone? Is there any need? I'm upgrading to a htc evo 4g lte on Saturday from og evo, just wondering if apps 2 sd is working or needed

I think that there is no I need, but others mighty say otherwise. Since you are coming from the OG Evo, I know that you have a microSD.
On the LTE, it has the internal memory (just like the OG), and it has the internal storage, which is the equivalent of the SD card on the OG. And THEN you have the external SD. Apps aren't saved to the ext SD card, and you have plenty internal storage for the apps. The data from the apps are automatically saved to the internal SD (like 1gb+ for real racing 3).
