[rom]NEMESIS 2.5r2 gogo8008 TW4.3-FASTER THANuKNOWho-NICEBATT-THEMED-SIC-MK2-MDK++ - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

The Nemesis Project for Verizon Safestrap and other S4 carriers/models
An Infamous/Jamison/gogolie Production!
RULES:
Before you start using this rom here are some things you need to know:
1. I am NOT updating every week (I work 6 days a week and have a 2 year old and Pregnant wife)...
2. Don't ask for ETA, this is rude and offensive. When it is done it is done.
3. Custom Roms come without warranty. They are tested before release but something always can go bad. So if you broke your phone or you got fired because the alarm didn't go off - I am not responsible.
4. Support is limited. Sometimes I can answer your questions sometimes I don't have the time. There will be times I don't have an answer so please do no repeat your question or get offended because I haven't answered you.
5. Don't compare ROMs. It is rude and offensive for developers. If the other rom has what you need, use that ROM.
6. Don't Kang my work. You may fool everyone else but I will know! If you want to use something just ask!
7. If you like my work, a five star thread rating and hitting the thanks button motivates me.
8. No flaming! We have all been a NoOb before. We are here to help each other.
9. Read the change log. All relevant important information is there first! i.e. Bugs and fixes if there are any at the time.
* Your warranty is now void.** I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if* you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.*/By using the rom you agree with the above terms! (I've returned warranty void phones before to verizon they have no clue.)

HOW TO INSTALL:
1.Download ROM (and aroma addon if you need it) and place on SD
2.Reboot into recovery
3.Wipe / FORMAT / U MUST Create new rom slot (only if on SafeStrap obviously
4.Install the ROM (this is my personal choice its got all I need and is essentials only much faster!) Reboot if on MK2 / Safestrap - Verizon and not installing aroma addon apps. MJ7 or other SS users flash modules & restart.
5.(THIS IS NO LONGER A SUPPORTED OPTION your free of will to try but know its buggy) Install Aroma Addon's choose NO WIPE and Rom Install or you'll end up wiping the rom.. The make sure to unselect MK2 SS VZW near end of aroma options. SS doesnt like that option so don't pick it unless you like bootloops All apps in aroma are either Samsung, Google or an AOSP / free version of paid program. Nothing illegal or full versions for free... I wasn't aware i'd be packing an aroma so I lost track of where a lot of the ASOP/other apps are from. I did put Shaftie's Onyx Keyboard in place of the google keyboard that kept FC'n (still is even tho its not installed I know an am working on a new version) so stop at Shaftamle's sweet themed S4 keyboard thread and thank or donate to him if you like it!
6. If your not on another carrier or MDK model then restart after aroma...optionally you can flash the contacts fix now too before restarting........
7. If on ATT/Verizon MDK and not on Loki recovery, you need to flash Loki patch! - Loki patch.....Then install your usual or favorite kernel or try the bioshock 4.1 kernel from Jamison. If on a carrier other than Verizon you'll need to flash a compatability zip package a kernel (or SS module if Safestrap is available to you) and your carriers modem/apns. Please do not ask or request these here PM me if you can't find them by yourself but its a simple google search away...
8. Reboot if done installling
9. Wait five minutes for all to settle as this is a highly tweaked ROM check out the optional bootanim in aroma if you smoke nows a good time for one.
Set APNs if it didn't stick
Additional install info:
Driver for Viper4ANDROID = CortexA8 with NEON
Now enjoy the fastest and most customizible ROM for the S4.

Change log:
3/6/14 .713 Version Final until Original is Updated
No FC's with Phone or Contacts. Changed back to different ASOP Black.
Fixed bootanimation... and shutdown animations i had added for fun didnt work out originally should now...
all with this one until jamison updates it!
02/24/14
Version 2.5r2 gogolie's v8008
newest version of Nemesis for verizon - 3/1/14 - this includes different ASOP themed dialer and contacts matching the 3mint theme of the ROM. be sure to thank/buy a beer for Jamison just google him and Infamous as i can't post the link to original thread ?! there will be 2 inital FC's reguarding the new asop dialer but thats it the only time you'll get them is 1st install. updated setupwizard and a FIXED few other issues. please hold off on using the aroma installer unless you absolutely want to try it. i'm developing an aroma installer that will be generic and port any rom to from any S4 device instantly as well as mods, keyboards, apps and bootanimations. if you have anything you think deserves to make it in the installer post here. I havent seen an FC for a day so i'm considering it good to go. please post in the verizon thread any problems. gapps/user programs are more specific to what you've loaded so if you havent tried a different version or arent using the stock (by stock i mean what came with the rom) it probably isnt compatible. also added some early wip flash packs for major carriers/mdk to use with my ROMs please PM me results, they wont brick your phone as long as you flash the right one... actually no matter what they shouldnt but dont hold me responsible unless it works then donate
Version 2.5.710
gogolie reworked this hard.
Updated nearly everything and added more options to aroma.
Forced to work with Safestrap and any S4 if kernel/modems are flashed after installing!
Removed broken keyboards added a lot of ASOP apps in place of originals probably about 50% ASOP apps too many to list more info on them available in aroma install addon
01/28/14
Version 2.0
- Dark Theme part2. A crap load more apps.
- Fixed APN issue on install for real this time
- More CSC tweaks ( wipe needed to take effect.)
- More language support
- More Aroma fixes
- More framework tweaks // Kitkat stuff
- Samsung keyborad doesnt like theme so FC still. Working on it
- Nemesis 3minit backup so you can open 3minit app and click restore then nemesis_backup to give you the full Nemesis feel!
- More kernel tweaks
- Added Lionheart governor that I personally tweaked
01/25/14
Version 1.5
- BioShock 4.0 tweaks
- added my personal fav governor ConservativeX
- Dark Theme part1
- Fixed APN issue on install
- Option to install Startup sound (it is very loud!)
- CSC tweaks
- Added back Call/message blocking
- Clean up Aroma
- Bookmarks

I'll take this one for updates...
essentially just flash the rom .zip if SS MK2, restart and enjoy

Wait! So if I understand OP directions properly, if we want Aroma options/installer, we actually flash the Aroma .zip first then the actual full ROM afterwards? Any wipes required in between or reboot before going to ROM flash?

Looks good ty for another ss working rom

negative. Both downloads are full installs. The second one just uses aroma to let you pick and choose what you want.
Thanks @gigilie

update/fix/i dont think clearly at 430am ;P

actually i messed up on the OP really shoulda just left aroma out but ppl want options.. flash rom first then aroma in aroma chose no wipe and rom install. then pick apps..... but avoid pickin the auto selected MK2 SS Verizon box apparently SS doesnt like modules flashed twice or something havnt had time to investigate but all SS files including modules would have been flashed when the rom was. also the aroma is a beta I haven't testd all the compatibility packs yet if you have feed back or results(neg or positive on vzw or tryin a pack or a diff carrier) let me know... preferably via PM.
after a few hours on this version my contacts/phone started FC'ing / the phone or at least shortcut to it disapeared dont know if this will happen to anyone else but I whipped up a fix located in OP - downloads.... occasionally getting a google keyboard error still too even tho its not installed... probably going to have a patch or a new version with that fixed.

Thanks for the replies regarding my Aroma installer questions. I'm half understanding, lol.
Might just wait this one out though until you get the update/fix for those couple issues you mentioned.

Cool update. Getting more and more robust. Looking forward to see where this goes.

your welcome guys!
PS new update check OP ignore inital 2 FC's they happen no matter what aren't important but thats it after first 2 in setup you shouldnt see another one! feel free to test these new m.a.r.c. packs PM me feedback but only flash if on carrier/firmware oh and 3 new roms later today after i get some sleep
gogolie's MARC=Make Any ROM Compatible
MARC for Verizon MDK
for AT&T SafeStrap 3.71 - flashes MK2 modules and stock kernel (why kernel? I dont know a safety measure i suppose)
for AT&T non Safestrap *w unlocked BL*
for Sprint
for T-Mobile users w unlocked BL
for other carrier support PM me details with links to or files for carriers you'd like supported
These packs should be immediately flashed over any ROM after 1st installing it to "port" it to your system. i'll post my VZW SS MARC later today... No promises as to how well or compatible they'll b I have not had many other carrier phones in to root / mod lately so i'll need independent testing via users.
Thanks,
gogo
PPS: Anyone beat 29,893 for a score in AnTu's benchmarks? Personal best I know doesnt mean much but compared to 23-27k I'd get with HD thats cool. if you beat it or hit 30k lemme know and what ROM your using. thx

Can I still use the aroma addons package with the latest update? I'm on the mdk bootloader and I'm using a loki'd recovery.
Edit: read the OP! Looking forward to the new aroma installer!

I agree. The more options for Safestrap users, the better.

I get status 7 errors while installing using Philz latest and doing all wipes needed. Questions though abour installing. I'm scratching my head trying to figure out the OP n even the install instrucyions from within recovery. Ok so i tried the BB amd AB (thats Before Beer and After Beers) and same results both times. Do I need to flash A CZW kernel after install? ie Kronic KT? like i said i cant get it running and its Saturday night n I'm on 4 6% homebrews right now so i might need to do this in the morning. how do i get passed status 7, n no i wont switch to twrp but if needed i will gladly go to CWM

ok im gunna figure this out. i dont myself have philz i know the script from installer should work in twrp fine since thats safestrap but im checking on philz theres not still a "TWRP" mode or something in philz is there maybe that'd work otherwise gimme a day i'll check via a friends phone but I've used my script (fairly generic) on philz for tmobile before so i dont know why there would be a difference... i assume your a verizon mdk? as to the after install question I run it from stock obviously but your free to install any kernel this rom like all of the roms that are safestrap compatible should not flash a kernel. so your able to flash any of them you like I suggest your favorite but completely up to you. was designed to install and work with jamison's bioshock kernel 4 but that was removed of course and since verizon took my mdk when i warrantied it (damn near started on fire in pocket) n gave me an mj7 i havent had many other mdk phones in from customers either a lot of mk2 tho. my roms working for mdk are more based on various users accounts and their praise for the roms. i have 1 mdk tester that i will see if he was able to install this newest version fine or what his results were and if he'd mind running it through philz otherwise i'll hit phil up too quick... either way i'll PM you what to do next. you will have Nemesis promise just toss me a beer when i figure it out?

You got me beat so far. I got 29,654 on Duxter light just now. It seems to be getting a little faster each time so maybe it is getting settled in. 29,465 before that.

Sorry about that I'm a flashaholic as well.
I don't blame you. It is easy enough, The only thing I see on mine is that when I reboot I always get" the Process.com.android.phone has stopped working" message a couple of times. It doesn't seem to affect anything that I can tell.
update: must have been something I deleted. Reinstalled the rom and all is good now. I found a theme from the samsung galaxy s4 international forum and they work with these roms. MAD is a good one. I installed it on Nemesis.

oh yea... the moment some of u might have been waiting for is here... another compatible Safestrap 3.71 rom.
you cant hold anyone but your mom or you responsible for your decision to install this or anything else from here. help dont hurt blame samsung for helping them lock our property.
This one actually works out of the zip for all SS users on VZW its not in the title to fool you into downloading!! AND it works for more carriers too!. Other carriers please note you will have to flash your modules / modems of your provider if you experience any issues at all this should fix them.
ported over one of my favorite quick themed essential only roms. even tho its got some funny sounds its the only gold / silver / blue and green rom I've seen. the lock screen is awesome big thanks to original creator kris_92fr.
In order to simplify installing this to VZW / ATT an TMO phones i removed a lot of the optional mods and aroma. these mods can be enabled thru the mod manager inside the rom if you want. i will port a theme chooser to switch the rom to silver or bak to gold or green later if I get enough thanks for this one.
took me forever to get a working zip if it doesnt install right for you from the zip im sorry I tried. your more than welcome to try the safestrap - backip - restore option (I'm uploading soon) and if you meet requirements (MK2/MJ7 all that I test on.)that method will work for sure.
zzzzz It's late just going to post and add more later. enjoy this one! report success n failures and give me a nice +thanks along with original developer if we helped your phone be not so boring. if this works i've put out others that went unnoticed like Foxhound and Omega try them all pick your favorite and enjoy options rather than just 1 option. oh and i take donations in the other form of green PM me if you want to donate
Peace

That was the first step of the M3A1’s story.
After that the V2 project arrived, based on the 4.3 MKF with a completed theming.
The rom will be in Gold, and to have a reasonably size, Silver, Blue & Stock theme will be available to download and flashable via Aroma with your favorite recovery.
The code was rewritten, corrected and refine by Ichipper
The icons modified and redesigned by Kris

I have downloaded the zip and have it installed in my 2nd ROM slot. Installed the Mj7 kernel module and so far everything appears to be working as I get this set up.
OP rocks! We've finally got some decent SS/MJ7 options. I'll be giving this one a shot as well.
Can this be flashed with loki and TWRP?
pretty much all set up with this ROM and no issues to report so far. The big thing will be battery life.
I'm having a certain amount if fcs with camera and gallery. Blue tooth not pairing with my headset. Battery life definitely not on par with hyper drive.

Very nice so far. Very sharp gold theme. Was able to flash the zip w/o problem to rom slot1. Unzipped the SS restore versions to my twrp backup folder but could not restore it. It failed. I have had the same problem with the other SS restore versions (diamond, omega). Can't figure out what I might be screwing up.
Edit: fixed by using Andro Zip instead of Root Explorer to unzip and it restored fine!!!

decaturbob, never said its better than hyper nor would i compare apples to oranges but I have not heard of a problem with camera or gallery my guess is its your stock. probably HD12? ya that will mess up every rom u try to install Just an FYI if you cant figure it out he is your culprit. of course you could obviously just upgrade or downgrade your gapps or specifically gallery via ti or whatever. but there are not FCs that have been discovered and you seem to have a lot of problems (your posts negative 100%? ) i would do the logical thing and odin a fresh mk2 on restore a copy of any SS restoreable roms to STOCK (Foxhound, Omega, m1, there will be a cpl more ive got in route soon) and not HD12 that goes on slot 1. then put this or whatever come back and complain then if theres FCs. not being a **** just stating thats on your end once again bro.
Very nice work my friend.

I flashed this to a TMO one with unlocked bootloader one with locked both worked flawlessly after entering a couple apn settings for data. so yes you can flash through TWRP and I dont know why it wouldnt work to loki it unfortunately dont have a phone like mdk or similar with a friendly boot to test this theory so I cannot promise 100% but around 98.5% sure it will be fine. TWRP will flawlessly restore my backup installers that has been tested and works great.

not sure what you mean especially when you say my posts are 100% negative when I have set up user guides and informational posts. I do not have HD on my stock rom, its loaded in rom slot 1 and I loaded your rom in rom slot 2. After a half a day, I was getting continuous fc with camera and gallery and never was able to pair with my headset.
I was reporting issues and you can take them any way you want. friend...
OK, so I just flashed this to a VZW S4 with MDK and unlocked bootloader and it booted up. I dont have the phone activated, and cannot get the WIFI to turn on. I found the OP's wififix.zip and flashed it, but no luck. Any other ideas?

Here's something that has worked on other roms. Wipe, Reflash the rom but do not reboot until you flash the wifi module fix. If that doesn't work it sounds like a different modem or kernel might. Also look into APP to be sure. Good luck. I'm staying with Hyperdrive a while longer before trying this. Thank you for being so intrepid as to try out new stuff.

what wtherrell said you should try wiping restoring again this time immediately flash the wifi fix and if that doesnt work try flashing just the modem try the mk2 first if that doesnt stick try the mj7 and maybe even the safestrap mk2 modules flashed on top of that finally the wifi fix that your able to dig up (nice work on being resourceful seriously if only more users were as proactive as you bro) hope fully this helps Ive had a couple pms from users saying they got it working fine on mdk. good luck thanks for your support

installation instructions
Please note this rom is based on NC5 however should run on any build given that either one of two dependencies are met.
1. If on MK2/MJ7 install make sure you have used a method to get Safestrap working on 3.72. Google it.
2. If on a loki or dev edition device then install a custom kernel after installing the rom.
3. If one a NC2/NC5 non rooted device you will need to do a partial downgrade to 4.3 MK2 then update to a prerooted NC5 or other KK rom w/ Safestrap verision 3.72 installed.
If you're not sure what you have, look. To determine your bootloader version, go to terminal emulator or adb shell and type "getprop ro.bootloader" (without quotes)

frequently asked questions
can i flash this over without wiping?
You can do whatever you like. Whether it will work or not is another story. Net is that if you would like any manner of support, you need to follow the directions here.
how can i apply to my rom?
Many mods are available for download within the rom itself. Download them to your phone, use file manager to transfer anything you want onto the external SD card, then boot into safestrap. Choose the install button, and select your zip. Once you're done, press restart. Depending on what you've done, the phone may reboot itself a second time after it configures all of your applications. This is normal and is not a bootloop
is there any fee for using bajarom?
There is absolutely no charge for using, or support of this project. If you have the means and appreciate the hard work that has been done to make this the single best ROM available for the Note 3, there are donate buttons available
is there risk involved in flashing this rom?
Yes. Flashing roms of any kind, BajaRom or others, has some degree of risk. Generally speaking, most any situation can be overcome at this point by using Odin and reinstalling factory-fresh files. However, the device is yours, the responsibility is yours. If you find yourself in a situation, we will do our best to assist, but we cannot and will not be responsible for what you choose to do to your phone.
why are there two editions of the same build?
A special edition of BajaRom was released with build 8. This special "Combat Edition" is intended as a small tribute to all of our men and women in the US Military. Your work is appreciated, and we thank you for your service. Because of the extent of the modifications required, each build will include a link to the normal version, as well as the Combat Edition ROMs. At this point there is no build 9 combat edition; this may become a theme for subsequent versions.
i like what i see but i'm not sure this is for me?
Because @Hashcode was able to get SafeStrap working on the VZW Note III, you can simply create a ROM slot, install the ROM, and boot to it, without affecting your existing ROM. The majority of BajaRom users end up using it is their Daily Driver, and can be installed in the stock ROM slot. Using this configuration allows the entirety of the available storage to be accessible.
what launchers are available?
Out of the box, there are two launchers available. A tweaked version of the TouchWiz launcher, and Themer. Themer is a unique concept for launchers, and is a different way of thinking of things. If you're not sure, use the TouchWiz rom to start and you can always change as you go forward.
how can I use the cool n5 google experience launcher?
Also available in this ROM for download is the Google Experience launcher, which is what is currently being deployed to KitKat Nexus 5 phones. To use this launcher simply download it from the BajaRom settings, and flash using SafeStrap (see above FAQ for more detail). Once installed, you will get a choice of which to use. Note, you MUST update Google Search in order for this to work properly.
what if i need to return my phone for warranty exchange, or how to back out

Thanks man, yeah it was a pain it took all three of us (@bajasur @reggie cheeks and yours truly) and luckily we're all experts in different areas, kernel/bootloader/partitioning scripting for me, bajasur is the original rom dev so he knows how to build roms (smali, java, apktool, dex2jar etc) and reggie is the best themer there is (seriously). It took the three of us a lot of tests and time working together to get this done. Ill write a guide soon and im glad we were finally able to get it to work. If I was still renaming BajaROM zips by their testing number we'd probably be on "BajaROM-S4-test28.zip" by now lol
Looks like I've got some cleaning still. Stock revert downloads ob3_Skin.
so far so great though.

Yep, I don't know if other rom devs also give these directions but since you tend to answer a lot of peoples questions and your the OP of the most important sticky I thought id let you know the following (not to say that you didnt know, just saying in general)
One thing I know for sure Safestrap people should know is that in order to install you MUST do the following:
1. In Safestrap, go to the "mount" menu and make sure that "cache", "system" and "data" are all unchecked before installing.
2. If installing on the stock slot or if this is installing over anything thats stock, you MUST do a full-wipe. This is because of how SELinux and knox work in the ramdisk. If you don't do a full-wipe then the knox root prevention/removal policies will not be removed when installing, this results in the user losing root. The only exception to this is if after doing a dirty install, uncheck the "reboot" option on the last screen of the aroma installer and flash the newest SuperSu zip in Safestrap prior to rebooting, if you do that then you will still have root.
Learn something new everyday. That little bit of info there will save a lot of people... If they follow through with it ( hopefully )
Great work Surge and I agree Reggie is the best damn themer lol

Honestly that's a good question (so far I have not had issues skipping this step on rom slots) ill have to look into this more, but id imagine itd be ok to skip this step on rom slots since Hash made it so Safestrap tries to remove/doesnt allow those SELinux and knox policies to be made on rom slots
I do see a exception to this though, say you were to flash a rom where the developer forgot to remove a few of these knox and SELinux policies from their rom. You would have to delete this rom slot instead of write over it in order for the install to work (did we just figure out why its sometimes necessary to delete then recreate rom slots before an install will take? I think so! ) so as of now id say:
Skip unmounting those if you had just deleted then recreated the rom slot and/or if its a new rom slot.

Hey all, here's SlimRom built from source for our i605. Umm, it flies! Obviously in not responsible for anything that happens to you, your, device, or anything else that may go wrong in your life.
I am also not responsible for the work done on this ROM, and so I do not want to take credit. I'm not a part of Slim Team, and am providing this because all I had to do was build a slim device tree (and keep it up to date) for i605...and because I like the ROM!

Quick FAQ: (wip)
Q- This ROM won't give root access to my apps?
A- Yes it will, you need to enable it in developer settings for apps/adb.
Q- I click on the download link but there aren't any files for me to download?!
A- Turn off ad-blocker or try a different browser.
Q- Everything is smaller on this ROM than what I'm used to?
A- DPI is set at 245. You can change it in build.prop in your system folder. Make sure you set permissions back once you have messed with the file! 320 should get it back to how you see it on most ROMs with no tweaking. You can also use an app such as ROM toolbox to change it.
Q- What has changed since the last version?
A- Versions are clearly marked, please check slimroms.net for updated changelogs.
Q- GPS issues??
Here you go, GPS fixes that worked for me...<br />
<br />
GPS edits:<br />
Edit the file at /system/etc/gps.conf (I use root explorer). Uncomment these lines by removing the leading #:<br />
NTP_SERVER=north-america.pool.ntp.org<br />
SUPL_HOST=supl.host.com or IP<br />
SUPL_PORT=1234<br />
<br />
Save, and reboot. If you still don't have gps, download a Verizon based touchwiz Rom (I had alliance and used that), reboot into recovery and back up slim kat. Then, wipe and flash the touch wiz Rom. You should notice that your GPS is off even though it's a clean flash and it should be on. Turn on GPS, and get a lock - I used GPS status app so that I could verify the number of satellites that locked. Once you get a solid lock, reboot to recovery immediately while it's locked in. Now restore slim kat, then boot into it and now get a lock<br />
<br />
<br/>
Thanks so much to @gchild320 for all of his help getting me setup to keep this going!!

Awesome! You have your own thread for this now! I will flash and report back my results here in a little bit. Thank you for adopting this project by the way, one of the best ROMs out there, and I appreciate the fact that you're keeping my (almost) two year old device up to date!
Also, side note, update the link to the Slim GApps... It seems to be broken. (Just update it with this one here.)

Thanks again so much for keeping this project alive for us note2 users. This is by far my favorite ROM for this phone so it means a lot to me to be able to keep running it and getting updates.

One suggestion for the op: maybe include a link to the differences between gapps versions? Slims site does not do a good job at all listing the differences between the three gapps packages so this could help us here. I know that's not device specific, but more just general helpful info.

added this link to the op: http://forum.xda-developers.com/slimroms/general/gapps-official-slim-gapps-trds-slimkat-t2792842
Straight from Slim so they should be keeping it updated with future releases.
I've been running the ROM for a couple of hours now and everything seems stable and fast (as we all have come to expect from this ROM). Thanks again for all the hard work!
Also, brilliant idea posting the explanation of the GApps... I know someone had previously asked what all three packages included.
It's very rarely I create a post unless it's justified or paying compliment, however: I was running the SkyNote Rom for a few months and when I wiped (several times) and installed your Rom and Gapps I could not access data or even phone service, even after re-installing several times.
I mean NO data or service at all.
I even restored Skynote and another ROM from a TWRP backup and still no service.
To be aware Skynote is a 4.3 ROM.
Could it possibly be the 4.4 Gapps I installed causing the issue?
I'm (for once) bewildered.
ANY help would be MASSIVELY appreciated.

This is really weird... I've had radio issues when I tried to install a KitKat ROM, but if i reverted back to a backup I made (4.3 JellyBean for book keeping), it always fixed the problem. My best guess, and I'm no expert, is that some important files got damaged during flashing - maybe files that pertain to the radio? If there are files floating around on here that have JUST the radio, I would try flashing one of those, preferably, the baseband version you had if you knew what it was. Though I have not seen any that have been readily available.
Fortunately/unfortunately, with that said, the only option that I know will fix the issue is doing a full restore to stock via ODIN. I reverted all the way back to the VRALJB stock ODIN image, rooted and ROMed and have had no issues since. This fixed the radio issues that I was having when installing an Android 4.4 ROM... So I'm confident that it will fix your issues. Of course, this is time consuming, and will take a couple of hours.
You can see how to revert back to stock using the files and instructions found in this thread. Someone else may have a [better] solution, but this is what worked for me when I had radio issues.
I will flash the new build tomorrow thanks for taking over this ROM is really great for the past week I been running it

Firstly, SonOfUncleSam, thank you for your speedy reply and assistance :good:.
I was really trying to avoid restoring to stock (which I had to do) as I REALLY liked the look and feel of the SlimKat.
I Googled SlimKat and I discovered that I'm not alone in regards to SOME people who installed the ROM also faced the problem of having no data or any form of network connection, even though APN's where installed and edited.
If this issue could be fixed I will most definitely be ready to install it again (Actually I'm waiting for you to resolve it :silly
Looking forward to seeing the couple of minor fixes,
Pikeypete.
Commenting on the radio issue: I had a similar thing happen to me on a different KitKat rom (PA), when I flashed it and my baseband said "unknown" and nothing I did could fix it. I tried via recovery flashing new base bands and nothing.
What I eventually wound up doing that did fix it was like sonofunclesam said, restoring to stock, reroot, flash alliance 4.3, Odin mj9 baseband, wipe, flash slimkat.... And then everything was fine. Took forever but it did work.
I don't think this issue has anything to do with slimkat itself, more like its a general note2/KitKat issue.
I resolved the issue, somewhat.
I had to change the preferred network type from LTE to 3G.
I'm on AT&T. 3G isn't anywhere near as fast, however at this point I have the network connected.
I'm sure a few tweaks will get me back up to the maximum speed bracket.
Thank you both for your input :good:
Pikeypete
I agree with Jarm3r... It seems like when everyone WAS making the transition to KK ROMs, it was hit or miss as to who had radio issues. My phone had issues with the radio when my father's phone didn't when I decided to test his. After that, the only logical action (in my mind) was to try and restore everything to stock, using the baseband version he had on his phone. After that, I've had no issues and its been a couple months since I've done that.
And like Jarm3r said, once everything is restored, re-rooted and re-ROMed, you should be good to go. Sometimes it seems like when you re-flash so many times, files can get messed up, and you'll eventually have to do this. (I even had to revert back to stock on my Note 10.1 because it was acting wonky too...)

I love this ROM. The camera works unlike cm11 and pac. And super smooth!
Is there a way to make the volume pop-up always expanded? I can't find a slim setting and the few xposed modules I tried didn't work.
I'd also love a way to have have something like CMs profile feature. Is there a zip or flash or module that would add that?

Is that like where you set it to "home" ... "Work" etc... And it changes a bunch of settings like volume and WiFi and stuff like the old blackberries used to do? I would love to have that as well if it is! I currently use tasker to kinda emulate that but its clunky.

NitroX Sparks edition
Huge Aroma Installer
5 launchers including Magazine (probably buggy but work) , Apex, Nova, stock and stock fast

Instalation
To install place the zip file in your external SD reboot in Recovery mod.
Flash zip file and follow aroma installer, use the touchscreen gently as it is very sensible and you can install something you don't want.
You can dirty flash if you want but I suggest backing up before and try.
I don't recommend that of course, better Factory reset and wipe caches.
Let the rom settle for a while.
Rom do not affect wifi recovery.
Don't tell me hand writing recognition don't work, Install languages first.
In the first Aroma page if you install Gmail Exchange as only mail don't install Gmail on the Aroma Google apps applications.
To put more apps in Multi-windows use Wanam Xposed.
To enable Nitro:
Open Terminal

This Rom made me think at something; I really didn't have a lot of knowledge how to build from stock so I really learned a lot, so I maybe write a tutorial before I forget for those interested. Not hard but you have to follow the steps. Decompiling framework and recompiling to change the title is not like eating a piece of cake. That was challenging.

Yes. So you are not interested in trying to remove any bloat?
Rom is uploading in Google drive now.
Maybe further this week I debloat. What nivel are you looking at for the removal extreme or medium?
I'm interested in it. I'll debloat, myself. Thanks!

Yes I think we would all like a new Rom based on the new firmware. Thank you for your work.
I think the more you can leave the ROM full of bloat by default and provide options to debloat maybe in aroma?
I only say this because often users like a particular bloat app and it is easier to remove them after an install than it is to add them in usually.
Just my opinion. Thanks for the new ROM, when I get a moment I'll flash it on my tablet.
Thanks for your work. the more support we can get the better. best to take it slow and keep it stable. i agree on the debloat. there is actually a lot that i need for work. an aroma installer debloat might be best. but its your work so do what you want.

Download fine here but I will upload with Mega in few hours
Next step is check out some "battery saver" and "performance" tweaks from Hyperdrive rom and see if you could incorporate them into this NI1 base rom. Xluco kernel is the best. This probably the kernel for reference.

The other thing I am always concerned about with tablets etc is that they are not always supported into the future. Having a rock solid stock ROM with all the original features intact means that long after Samsung abandons this device (sorry for being pessimistic haha) we will still have a really nice stock ROM. Some of my legacy devices are running ROMs that haven't been updated for years, but work perfectly because some nice dev made a stable and thoughtfully tweaked stock ROM.
I'm running this ROM on my tablet now, absolutely no dramas.
To those of you who are using this ROM after trying other custom ROMs, have you noticed any changes in battery life? Can you post details regarding which apps/games and/or kernel you're using?
Thanks!

Honestly there arent too many mods that i actually use even with everything offered in Hyperdrive. i think the biggest ones are being able to add more apps to pen window and multiwindow. being able to split them into 4 apps is nice but its not a 12.2 screen so i am really only using 2 at a time anyway. also have the 4 way reboot menu is always nice. other than that with speed and stability that is all i need in a rom for this tablet. of course totally my opinion. i agree with what you said about keeping it stable for when this is eol with samsung is important. it will happen sooner or later however i am sure we will get L at some point. hasnt even been a year. that would be outrageous.
C to F
How can I change the temp reading in the weather widget to read in F instead of C?
Nice Job
The Rom works well nicely done thank you for a current stock rooted Rom that we can flash to

You do know that you don't need Hyperdrive for 4way multi window? All you need is the app multi window plus and wanam xposed tool to add more apps to it.
As for the tweaks, I found some build prop tweaks and init d tweaks from Hyperdrive that I took and they work fine with this rom :good:
@enotar
Thanks for the rom, the only suggestion I have is for the Tab S UI to be made for this NI1 rom, currently it is only available for cnd3 roms if you look in the themes and apps section but if you could make that work with this it would be great :good:

1. Watch Video (if downloaded old rom before V5)
1A. If downloaded V5 install as any other ROM use XAS or SPR CSC in aroma, reboot into recovery, clean kernel with cleaner, then install kernel of choice, reboot to system, wait 15 min. Profit.
2. Activate VM [email protected]
3. Give thanks or donate thanks for any donations

Note. Regular Message app wont work fully please use Textra or another alternate to the base one as it can send text and receive but cannot send Multimedia text. I recommend Textra Its beautiful and it automatically picks up Sprint APN Settings

Does SMS/MMS and data work with this? Are there any quirks like some of the other ROMs, like if the other person hangs up first you lose data? Or is this like a Sprint based port similar to Sac's, where all native things work including updating PRL/Profile etc? If so that would be AWESOME.
Thank you. I've been waiting for something new for my note 3. Will try when off work

Please read the original post. This is not like sacs. I dont have that kind of time to have that correctly fixed but its in there I just dont know how to activate those feature (PRL, Profile Update). SMS works but again not fully for Multimedia. Use alternate app for text like Textra if you want full capabilities. I did reach out to Sac23 for advice but he stated and i quote "Its not as simple as copy and paste" "Plus i no longer have a note 3 with Sprint to be able to test" Yet if any other developer has the time to help me fix it id gladly welcome it. It does not have FC on hangup
