[Q] HTC DNA w/ Viper ROM and Alarms - HTC Droid DNA

Potentially stupid question here.
First off, I think I didn't install the HTC clock. I don't have the flip clock I'm used to. I am wondering if I can install it w/o having to wipe and start over.
Secondly. Without the Clock app, there is no Alarm. I installed Alarm Clock Free by iHandySoft Inc. This is what I was using on my old DNA using the Viper 1.5 ROM. Previously the Alarm would override the phone when it was on Silent and Vibrate so I would wake up. Now it does not. The settings are different than before. I clicked the volume, and went into Settings and set it to NOT use the Ringtone volume for Notifications and Alarms, and set the Alarm volume all the way up. It still didn't work.
The Alarm Clock Free app does not have any volume settings either.
Ideas?
Thanks

If you have the rom.zip still, just find these and push them to their respective locations
Code:
/system/priv-app/WorldClock.apk
/system/app/HtcClockWidget.apk

alarm volume

Hello,
did anyone figure out, how to adjust the volume of the original alarm clock?
It is terrible to get woken up by such a high volume... I can't figure out how to adjust it. There is no menu in the alam clock app as on the default android app, pressing the volume buttons inside the alarm clock only adjust ring volume... no way to set it in settings, notification volume also doesn't affect the alarm volume level.
Any clues?
best,
sunnnny
try with AudioManager. You can find it in the market
I replaced my original alarm clock with "Alarm Klock" - much more customisable and can set the volume to a percentage of the notification volume as well as fading it up. You can also alter your snooze length - which is perfect as I like mine at 7 mins!

AudioManager adjusts the alarm volume of android - but the SE alarm clock ignored it
So - no luck. Apparently I really have to use an alternative alarm clock.
Will try "Alarm Klock" next, thanks!

[Q] can you pick the timer alarm sound for default alarm app?

So I'm using Project Nero beta 2 and the Alarms & Clock application. Is this app a stock android app or was it made by Samsung or something?
Anyways, I notice you can change the sound played for the alarm mode, but you can't pick any options for the timer.
I know this is an old thread, but...
This is something I am working on now. Timer has no sound at all, after flashing a dev ROM. Actually, they put in the AOSP clock, which I removed, then reinstalled the stock one.
Timer will still activate vibrate, but no sound, which means I have to track down where it points to, which means using whatever sound you want.
Anyone get anywhere with this?

[Q] Can you set default settings for alarm clock?

I'm just wondering if there is a way to set a default volume and sound for the stock alarm clock, so when I set a new one those are already done? I'd be happy using it rather than ones from the market if I could do that. Had no probs setting alarms in s voice either, but it's pointless if I then have to change those two things.
I am rooted if that helps with a method?
Ok, it's me, Doofus again. Found a sering in build.prop. Will back it up and then try changing it. With regards to volume I've edited my alarm tune (Dream On, appropriate eh) with audacity sering up a huge fade in so that dude should now be fine. I'll post if the build.prop thing works.

So so far editing the build.prop isn't working. I've also transferred a copy of the music file into the system file where the default used file for alarms is, but still not working. I've rebooted between each change.
Wondering if anyone had any other ideas?

Not yet but if we do, we'll sure to let you know.
Create an alarm and give it a name. In my case I created "work". Set the ringtone and volume that you want for that alarm. Any alarms you want to use can be dropped into the ringtones folder and will be accessible to the alarm program. Save it. In svoice ask for that alarm by name, in my case "work alarm on" it will show that alarm and time, if that time is good say yes and you're rolling with the tones and volume you set. If not say "Change time to "Xam" and it will ask if you want to make the change, say yes.
A work around but it does work.
Thanks for that. I hadn't thought of asking for an alarm by name and then being able to change it's time, all via s voice.
I did get it to do what I wanted, though in a roundabout way.
Firstly, I always use a particular song and with the alarm clock app I generally use have it set as an increasing volume alarm. I only need it fairly soft so I have the volume down pretty low. To do this first part I use Audacity on my laptop and used the Fade In effect twice to create my alarm.
I then renamed the song to the same name as the song/tone that is used as the default in the stock alarm app. Then using root explorer I replaced the original tone with my renamed song. Now any time I set an alarm it is set to my default sound and volume and I am most happy.

No alarm sound

Is anyone having any issues with third party clock and alarm apps? I set my alarm and it does not ring at all despite having all sound and notifications settings correct. The default clock and alarm app work fine but I would really like to wake up to a song/music I choose.
Any possible fix/solutions?

I just got an p9000 and have the same problem .. I´ve tried to add the app (tried a few, used to run Gentle Alarm) to the white list, but it makes no difference ...
I even tried to use the Gentle Alarm "night display" to keep the display on, but still no alarm ...
(would´nt be a problem, unless all the stock alarm sounds are so hideous)
Any ideas?
edit: clicked on the "lamp" button in Gentle Alarm, that says "keep display on", and the night display, that worked! Kind of annoying to have the screen on through the night, but I did wake up to my favorite song!

Question Notifications and Sound Issues

Two questions about this phone to which I haven't yet found any solutions.
I'm unable to see lock screen notifications, or, in fact, anything on the lock screen. I've gone through all the settings for lock screen, notifications, clock, display, , always on display, and app permissions with no change. While I prefer using Nova Launcher, the results are the same using the Samsung default launcher.
My old phone had a setting where alarms only would sound so I didn't mistakenly silence the alarm clock. I've used AlarmDroid for years and want to continue using it but the alarm doesn't sound if ithe phone is set to vibrate only. I don't want or need to hear alny other notifications when I'm supposed to be asleep. I've been through all the sound settings for the app and phone and can't find a way to have only AlarmDroid use sound when nothing else does.
All suggestions or solutions welcome!

It seems like alarm droid is being put to sleep by the battery optimization, have you tried disabling that?
Update: New SIM card fixed the blank lock screen, but even though notification details are supposed to show, lock screen only shows icons and number of notifications per app, up to 4 apps. Tested Samsung's launcher with no different results after new SIM card.

Yeah, I did disable battery optimization on it. Wish I could get the sounds to work just for alarms, but I guess that's not an option..
Lock Screem -> Notifications (touch the the word, not the toggle) -> Details. You can also activate notification on the Always on Display there, but only icons will be visible. If you want more info on the AOD, you'll need an app like "aodnotify" or "Always on Edge". I use "aodnotify because i only want a notification LED thing.

For the alarm issue, just use Google Clock app. Works flawlessly, but just remember to remove it from battery optimization.
