Go into stock recovery and do a wipe (volume up, home and power button at same time) , that might start you back up, if not, just go into dl mode and flash the mj4 tar you should be good

This is the link for KK of that's what you want to do, you need to go stock 4.3 first
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2630514 go here and follow the instructions on page 1. You need to get to the download screen first and then follow the instructions... Pull your battery, put it back in, and then press volume down, home, and power at the same time to get to dl mode.. You'll be ok,.

2 i tried to flash a rom for sm-n900 and it didn't work odin sayd fail. did it not work because mine is sm-n900p or because i did something and now i can't flash thing on it in wich case i won't be able to flash the updates eather?

1. If you stay on mj4 (4.3) then you want to follow this method to root http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2474222 there's videos and super simple, if you go KK then yea, you need to use chain fires auto root for the 9005, make sure you put the tar file and not the md5 file.
2. You don't flash roms in Odin, you need to flash roms using twrp (that's the recovery), might be why you ran into problems in the first place.

You need to get to the download mode, pull your battery, put it back in, press volume down, the home button, and power at the same time, hold it until the phone vibrates and the screen turns on, it will tell you to press over of two options, you want the dl mode option. If you have a case, take it out of the case and try, might be preventing you from hitting all three at the same time.

i am instalink the mj4 now and it seems to be working.
for the updates i noticed that the instructions sayd to copy the files to the external sd. can't it be the internal sd, or does it really have to be the external one because i don't have an external sd right now.
and if it can't be the internal sd, then what file should i use to root whithout the updates, just the mj4?

just realised that was a stupid question. i found a long forgotten 1gb sd. does the CF-Auto-Root-hlte-hltexx-smn9005.tar.md5 file work on nabd or should i only upgrade to nab?

[Q] Help! Constant looping after Odin flash, no recovery mode

I been trying to reflash my Vibrant to stock through this guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=728698
how i kept getting this continuous circle thing instead of rebooting. I searched online and some forums talked about going into CNW recovery and then rewipe. However I can't seem to do that, after Odin (unclick reboot) I will push the 3 buttons (volume up, power, menu) and it would flash a disfigured download mode over and over again.
I am stuck, please help me out! I have attached two photos. I can still get into download mode without any issue.
What bootloader do you have running?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA
Bootloader? Sorry I don't know what that is... I only followed the guide...
I am a Noob, a huge uneducated Noob.
Are you going back to stock from ics? When you odin make sure re-partition is checked auto reboot is checked and use the 512 pit file as well as the stock image...
If you were on Ginger bread bootloaders you would only be pressing volume up and power to get into download mode...
When odin is done do you get a green pass! In the top left corner? It should state 1/pass 0 fail
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA
I am going from Ginger bread back to Froyo. I tried to root it in GB and didn't work, it stopped receiving signal connection ...
Yes I mean up volume + power + menu for recovery.
Yes, all three are clicked and it always gives me that white circle loop in the attached image above.
Not sure what gb rom you could have possibly flashed that wouldn't already be rooted... can u get back to download mode from that circle?

If you can get back into download mode, download this
http://www.mediafire.com/?2qq3muxzj4gw7ib
I have never seen that stock link before, not too sure what that is, but the link I posted is a clean 2.2 rom...use the 512 pit and put that(link) into the PDA
just PIT and PDA and make sure all three are checked...
yup goes to download perfectly
I have attached a screenshot of what I am doing in Odin if that helps.
Your signature is Canada Rogers...do you have a T-Mobile SGH-T959 vibrant?
---------- Post added at 10:58 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:57 PM ----------
you're using odin 3...not sure if this could be an issue or not, but search for Odin 1.7...use that
---------- Post added at 11:03 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:58 PM ----------
Also, from that screen shot, your 512 pit file is in your internet/temp directory...it could be gone after you close your browser....you need these files in a dedicated place like your desktop or something, not in an internet cache folder...when you hit start, did you see a progress bar and see things happening? it takes about 2-5 minutes for the stock firmware to be transferred to your phone
>< I am sorry! When I was searching for help I just saw Vibrant and thought that it would be it. I just noticed there is another thread for it.
I have a Samsung S Vibrant i9000M ... originally from Bell, but it was unlock when i got it... Would I be able to request a move to that forum?
But the procedure would still be the same right? I just flashed it (attached photo). It is saved in my internet temp file but it is physically there, I just named that file for all my internet downloads.
Sorry I am such an idiot. I found this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1102881
I'll try using that first and let you know!

[Q] Verizon note II bricked & bootloader locked

So I rooted my phone with oden, the next day I see my phone is promting me to download an OTA update to "fix vulnerabilities" so i download it. so I tried holding volume up, home and power to get to the bootloader.... and nothing...
what can i do? do I have to wait this out, or am I going to have to get a new phone?

No, hold volume down, home and the power button to enter downloading mode for the purpose of flashing files using ODIN. You'll need the stock PIT file and updated bootloader baseline files to restore your phone, which you can fine here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2107738.
When you get it back download vodoo root keeper and backup your root with it. Then you should be able to install the ota and restore your root

So is your phone fixed? If not you don't need the pit and baseline, that's to unlock. You need to file the thread I linked you to. Droidstyle guide is very easy to follow. Just make sure when you download your file you get the "alternate restore"

Ok you'll need to download two separate files. This one is the stock Verizon rom: http://d-h.st/waO that imnuts posted. DL that and put it in the PDA section in Odin then hit start and let the rom flash. Once that's done download the PIT file here: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?05cj895zu3tls7z and put this file in the top section that says PIT and his start and allow Odin to run. After you flash both you should be back to stock with a working phone. Btw you get to download mode by holding vol down + home and power at the same time and once once you get to the screen warning you about a custom rom press vol up. If you need more help let me know.

Okay well using separately may work but you should do it at the same time. Also you're right the pit isn't for unlocking. I haven't used the new method all I just knew the baseline was used unlocking and linked the pit in.
Now that I've wasted time explaining that it still doesn't change the fact that flashing the dock image will fail at sboot. He still needs to follow the directions I told him in the very beginning.I'm also more done here because he won't listen or had and won't tell anyone and people keep telling him wrong and then giving attitude to me trying to help him. As a matter of fact this entire user base is full of a bunch of trolls and really getting irritating.

Taken straight from that thread just below the picture, please revisit that paragraph......
Here's the bottom line up-front
Samsung has inserted code to blacklist our baseline and mitigate our exploits in the bootloader patch they began pushing out last night. You will need to flash the updated bootloader baseline and stock pit in order to restore your device to operational status. The How-To Unlock your Bootloader thread is invalid at this time.

Help unrooting S4 on MK2

God morning.
I have a Galaxy S4. I installed safestrap and some custom roms (kept my stock rom). I know want to remove all this and go back to stock. I have done a complete unroot in SuperSU and uninstalled (or so I thought), SafeStrap. However, when I restart my phone, safestrap is still booting and I get a lock on the screen with the word Custom underneath. I want to get rid of all of this and just go back to stock. It's Verizon S4 on MK2.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

However, when I restart my phone, safestrap is still booting and I get a lock on the screen with the word Custom underneath. I want to get rid of all of this and just go back to stock. It's Verizon S4 on MK2.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

You can try just uninstalling SafeStrap like any other app you have. Or flash the mk2 stock firmware in Odin.
Going the Odin way would actually be the better and easier way to go most likely. Sometimes the custom screen still lingers even after removing SafeStrap.

The first post in that thread explains what you'll need to do. Its a lot easier than a lot of people think.
- Download the USB drivers to your computer ( I believe they're linked in first post)
- Download the stock firmware zip in 1st post ( either full wipe or no wipe )
-download Odin from 1st post
- extract the .tar file from the firmware zip file
- open up Odin
- make sure you see it shows Device Connect when you plug your phone in
- load that .tar file into the PDA slot in Odin or AP slot depending on the version of Odin .
- make sure Re-Partition is NOT checked.
- hit start and wait for it to finish.
Again that's all said in the op.

There are some great videos on there.
Including how to unbrick an S4 and enter download mode. Your essentially unbricking your phone even though its not technically a brick.

Everything's working. Thanks for the help
Just out of curiosity, why did you want to go back to stock? I'm thinking about rooting but unsure on my new phone....

Help with bricked phone.

Just bricked my phone, new to all this stuff. Trying to repair it with odin, no luck. can anyone hit me up on skype and help me out? skype = wakfuyap
I can get into download mode, but I can't boot the phone normally. Simply want to revert to stock and go from there. Tried numerous different md5 files through odin, they crash when I try to load them, usually while trying to write NAND? I would like some help over skype, I can pay you if you get my phone working and can walk me through it, thanks.
James McCann.
What kind of phone?
Verizon Samsung Galaxy s4
S4 sounds like a locked bootloader stock probably keep trying the cuamdl try nb1 I just flashed on a s4 about five months ago Odin NB1 twrootable
you might as well be speaking in a foreign language. I just want help fixing my phone via skype. $20 via paypal to first person to holler at me on skype and help me fix it. skype = wakfuyap have odin 3.10 already if that will be the method used. hope somebody hits me up soon.

1. Power off Samsung Galaxy S4.
2. Press and hold down Volume Up + Home + Power buttons at the same time.
3. Go and select factory and data reset.
4. Then press and hold Volume Down + Home + Power button at the same time.
5. Press Volume Up button when warning prompt.
6. Odin download mode will be loaded.
5. Connect USB cable to your phone.
7. At PC, extract firmware .tar (or .tar.md5) file that you downloaded to Firmware folder.
8. Then bring up Odin as administrator
9. Click on PDA. Select the .tar (or .tar.md5) at Firmware folder.
10. Click Start then.
11. Remove USB cable from your phone when you see green PASS!
That’s it. You have successfully installed stock official firmware on your Samsung Galaxy S4.

You need NK1
---------- Post added at 02:19 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:18 AM ----------
I don't Skype but that's how to do it hope it helps
first steps aren't available to me, there are no options, it goes straight to the screen asking me if I want to do download mode by pressing volume up. I can get to download mode, when I try to load the md5 file via odin it fails every time, I have tried many different md5 files. some times it is an AUTH problem, sometimes NAND problem. Why is this so complicated? Why can't somebody just give me clear instructions that work? I can get to download mode, I can launch odin. I need a file that works and to know which boxes need to be checked.
I have done it did you download the Verizon nk1 file from the link in the post? That's where I got my files ......... Shizz its probably the version of Odin you are using try 1.85 I never have problems with that one but the others are sometimes hit and miss if you have the right files and its recognized by Odin then it has to be the Odin version you are using I have about seven different versions but I only use 1.85
---------- Post added at 03:44 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:44 AM ----------
Boxes just leave the same don't check flash lock that's for sure
---------- Post added at 03:47 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:44 AM ----------
If its in a tar.Md5 then it does not need to be extracted also
I have tried the older version of ODIN you recommended, 1.85 and the md5 file you gave me the link to. It doesn't work either, it will fail at some stage that says AUTH, which is what happens on the others, sometimes at the NAND part. fails very quickly, 3-4 seconds into it after I hit start. Anyone else have any advice? Is there another method besides ODIN because that seems like a bunch of nonsense to me, since I have tried about every version of ODIN and md5 file listed on these forums.
I have the same issue on my SCH-I545 that was running 5.1 Lollipop OF1. I flashed it back to OC1 and rooted the phone. I then flashed back to OF1 and everything was working perfect. My ultimate goal though was learn and to install custom roms but with the boot loader being locked on Lollipop you are limited to what you can install. So reading through forums I saw that there are a lot of people running @stang5litre custom rom. I found and followed the instructions after reading through almost the entire 300+ page thread. I did it exactly how it was posted but after the rom flashed and rebooted the phone would just hang on the custom boot screen. I waited like @stang5litre has said (for up to 15 min.) when it still didn't reload I pulled the battery and rebooted again. It still just hangs on the custom boot screen. I have re-flashed OF1 and OC1 with the same results.
Can I flash back to 4.4.2 like @Joker1716 is saying above? I thought once you have upgraded to Lollipop you can't revert back.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I bet FF moved wipe to at the end. Which is why your not booting. You have to set it twice with FF or it moves wipe to the end. This is a known bug with FF. Before you hit the bolt make sure the order is correct and you will boot up fine. Happy to help you

Thanks for the quick reply @stang5litre....I did move wipe back to the front as I read to do so in your thread. But now the phone will not get past the custom boot screen even after I've re-flashed the OF1 & OC1 files. Do I have any other options on fixing this phone? I don't have a problem buying a new one as I've had this for a while but I really hate to give up on this if there is away to get it back up and running.

Rooted then tried to flash newest TWRP via the app. Wont reboot or go into recovery. Can get it to reboot unless I odin a OC1 or OF1 kernel.
Best way to ODIN back to OF1 or an earlier firmware?

What were you originally on(base)? If your not mdk then you cantt use TWRP.
You would need to Odin back to what you came from re root and then go through the the process. But I need to know what base you were on when you rooted.
Thanks
