how to pair BT headphones - Ornate TrueSmart

This may be a stupid question. I tried searching but didnt find this. How do I pair my BT headphones to the TS? I can get to the BT menu, but cant "scan", or dont see the button to do so.

Sorry, NA 1900 on AT&T, 1gb/8gb, stock firmware.

Swipe from left to right in the TrueSmart Bluetooth menu to see additional options, but to pair BT headphones that was necessary on mine.
The TrueSmarts all run Android 4.2.2

Thanks. Any idea how to create a folder in the launcher? not the OUI2.0, I figured that one out.

really i didn't know that, i don't really like MIUI ROM but if other devs could somehow implement this into their ROM that would be great,i run Cognition ROM (for Galaxy S2)
try adding this to your build.prop
net.bt.timeout=never
or
net.bt.timeout=
leave after the = sign blank to the second one to leave it nulled e.g never time out
hopefully they work

Hi,
Sorry for "hacking" this thread, I was wondering whether it is possible to hack a Bluetooth so as to be able to connect two external Bluetooth speakers of different brands (JBL & Ultimate Ears).
Thank you.

PS3 Bt headset/wireless keypad works on rooted Honeycomb View tablet

I have successfully paired my ps3 bluetooth headset and wireless keypad to my view running honeycomb (gingerbread with the headset) and they both work flawlessly.
The wireless keypad has a touch mode which enables the keypad to double as a mouse.
It takes some time to get used to using the keypad for full navigation but it's a nice option to have along with bluetooth keyboards.
It's a nice alternative to the $50+ bt keyboards and so much more smaller. Give it a try sometime if any of you have access to these items.
Interesting. Did both work wih Gingerbread?
What did you do to get them paired? I guess there is a special USB cable to hook them to the tablet for pairing?
Are you rooted? Have you modified the build.prop? Is your mic on the headset working or is it just media. I tried to connect my motorola finiti and all I got was media.

I only tried the headset on gingerbread, not the keypad. Pairing is the same for any bt accessory; put the accessory in pairing mode, turn on bluetooth on the tablet then enter the passcode when instructed.

Yes I am rooted. On gingerbread I modified the bt profiles number and set service.brcm.bt.ag_supported to 1. After that I rebooted and made some calls with the headset and the mic worked flawlessly. On honeycomb the bt profiles number is already correct for the same devices so all you need to do is set ag_supported and pair the accessories.

Both work great on honeycomb. On gingerbread I only tested the headset, not the keypad.
I just got one over the weekend, ill try it on the GB view, the pads were on sale for $25 at BB.
So the pad u r using its like a key board and trackball? In other words u can control the tablet completely from the pad ?

Just about. The only downside is you have to switch between touchmode/trackball mode and typing, you can't do both at the same time. It isn't hard though to switch between the two as it has it's own dedicated button to go between the modes.
I haven't tested it with games but honestly that's the only time I prefer to actually touch the screen. Other than that, it's nice to be able to let my tablet sit on my night stand and just control it with the keypad.
And at less than $30 (average) you can't beat the portability factor.
All I can say is between the keypad and the headset I don't always have to be near the tablet to touch it for simple tasks.

You are able to use the mic on the BT headset to make calls on Honeycomb? How?
Skype, grooveip. On the headset you also have to press the phone button.

What I mean is that the HFP profile is disabled in Honeycomb. Even if the build.prop is edited it will show, but devices won't actually connect to it. I'm wondering how you got around that issue.
I'm wondering the same exact thing. Can someone shed light on this. My headset won't actually connect either and it's driving me nuts because the build.prop method seemed like a sure fix. Someone please help!
The build prop is not a fix. LEEDroid is working ona a fix, but no solution yet. Check his thread / ROM
I am only interested in the keypad.
Will the PS3 one work on an unrooted/stock evo view?

Things to know about 4.2.1

Now that a version (or two, or three) of 4.2.1 has hit the i717, I'd thought that I'd share at least one finding that, whilst known amongst those already in possession of devices running 4.2+ ROMs, might have gone un-noticed by those only just receiving the update.
For me, the almost deal-breaker is that Google has removed access to Airplane Mode to third-party apps, effectively neutering scheduling apps for me.
Fortunately, Tasker can communicate with Secure Settings (both link to Play Store), to access the now restricted features, (You will need to install the helper from within Secure Settings also)
Are there any other features that Google have removed or otherwise altered which we should be aware of before installing a 4.2.1 ROM?

Car Home and Dock apps no longer can take the Home button intent, so even if you sideload Car Home (or other similar apps in the market) when they're running and you hit Home, you get your launcher, not Car Home.

This thread isn't about ROM-specific bugs, it's about Android functionality.
I'm running one of the CM10.1 ROMs and I love it, but is there an easy way (maybe a setting I missed) to get the dual panel Email? I had it in Gubment Cheeze and I loved it. Thanks in advance.
Anyone use a Bluetooth mouse? Mine was working in 4.1.2 but now has trouble connecting in 4.2.1. Is this possibly related to the Bluetooth fixes in 4.2.2?

I think so my bluetooth freezes at times and gets stuck turning on but never does and I have to reboot to get it to work
LED Flash light
I added a LED flash light widget to the lockscreen the first time and device reboots.
I test the flash light from widget on the lockscreen: it doesn't work for any options (bright light or strobe).
Light toggle in the notification drawer does work.

That was around in 4.1.2. IMO it's annoying to have two taps to go to open a file in one app for one instance only.
JB 4.2.x is a step BACK from 4.1.2 in my humble opinion. After reading a ton of problems with 4.2.x on the Nexus 7 forum, I am staying from updating.
There is a school of thought that basically calls out google for releasing a half-baked Jelly Bean updates with the 4.2.x series.

I think there's a problem with bluetooth HID. I'm running Jamie's CM10.1 preview and I get a bunch of uhid not found errors in logcat when trying to associate with my Motorola Bluetooth Keyboard. It won't stay paired so it seems that HID is broken in 4.2.x (This keyboard did work in 4.1.2 AOKP)

[Q] How to keep the screen on while charging?

Hello guys,
A happy and lucky Z2 owner here. I just wonder if there is any chance to keep the screen on while charging it (on the dock)?
I tried to find that option in Settings but couldn't find it. Any help would be appreciated.
Doesn't sony have an app called Smart Connect for this type of stuff? If I remember correctly, you can open Smart Connect and set a condition (attaching to dock) and an action change screen time.
I can't test and give you specifics as I'm on AOSP right now.

Tap on your build number 7 times to activate developer mode. Once in there, there is a setting to keep screen awake while charging.
