Q: How do you sync Google Contacts to Nokia X? - Nokia Lumia 920

I just got my Nokia X today. I was trying to import my Google Contacts to this phone, but I can't find a way to do it. There's an option to import contacts from SIM or external sources, but there's no option for accounts. Please help.
Update:
I also can't add Gmail to the Accounts in Settings I was able to add my Facebook, Twitter, and Microsoft Live accounts, but not Gmail

Install the GApps using the guide from Kashamalaga, and you should get the Google Account sync functionality

How to Import Google/Gmail Contacts to Nokia X,X+ and XL
Officially there is no way to import contacts from Gmail, But I found this article in which user has share step by step guide to Import Contacts to Nokia X platform using Gmail or Google account. Let’s head over to guide here:
http://www.putques.com/import-gmail-contacts-to-nokia-x-platform/

You'll have to root your phone to do that.
Root your phone by following this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2693813
Then install GApps by following this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2665401
Sign into your Google account from Settings>Add Account.
Your Google Contacts will get synced.
Edit:
You can do that without rooting too. Install Google Services by using Nokia X Toolkit. You can get it here:

How to covert 'phone' contacts to Google contacts...

The majority of my contacts are phone contacts, is there anyway I can convert them to Google contacts so they sync with Google?
I had this dilemma yesterday. I'm hope you have Outlook. what you can do is sync you contacts with the HTC sync with outlook. then save your contacts by exporting them to CSV file. You can then import this phone to your web gmail account. Delete all your phone contacts and then sync your Google contacts by going to settings > data sync > Google > menu > sync now. I hope this helps
Damn, I don't have Outlook, there must be another way surely...
The only other way is to save to SIM and then import it from the SIM card. Only thing bad about that is that any facebook link will be lost mate.
Use ExportContacts, edit (if needed) the *.csv file to fit Google's importing rules (check this topic for reference), import the file to Google Contacts via PC and synchronize.
Or search for ContactSync in the market that will convert your phone contacts to Google ones. but try this if the above method does not work.

I would trully NOT recommend that. I've tried it and as it may have seen, all the contacts have been converted do "Google" type, but non of them actually synced with Google Contacts. At least that's what happened on my Hero.

I got the same results. They tried to sync, but I got a force close-msg. Had to delete all the changed contacts for it to work again
Question: How do you actually know which contacts are Google ones and which are not. In my virtually all my contacts are Google ones but there are the odd ones that are phone contacts and I'm trying to find them so I can convert them.
when you look in people they say what they are to the right of the name......
use 'Export Contacts" (contacts, contacts tab, menu, more, import/export) to send the file to your sd card as a vcf file. then go back to the same place and import them into a google account instead of phone.
What i did is, i exported my contacts on Outlook, and then went my google page > contacts > Import contacts.
I imported the file, and deleted all my contacts on phone.
Now im syncing my google contacts to phone

[Q] How to keep contacts in sync with Google?

We inserted SIM in my wife's new Nokia Lumia 800 and copied the contacts from SIM into the phone memory.
Now how do we set it up so that these contacts gets uploaded to her Google account and stays in (2-way) sync (i.e., between phone memory and Google)?
Your current contacts must be stored under a Live account then since you moved them to your phone with only a Live account added?
I think you will need to add your google account and move the contacts to that account. When you later add a new contact you can choose which account to add it to. In this case Windows live or Google. It will auto sync once setup.
i dont think wp7 lets you sync contacts with google
Add your google/gmail account and contacts should sync over automatically. You can sync gmail, google contacts and google calendar with WP7.
A couple of caveats. WL only supports one mobile number per person and if you have HTC garbage in your Notes field in google contacts you will receive an error and will have to clean up your google address book to remove the rubbish from the notes field, else it should work just fine.
It will sync them to your Live account. What you need to do is export them from your live account, then delete them from your live account.
Import them into your google account and re-sync your google account and Live account on your phone. This will remove the live account contacts from your phone and sync your new google contacts to your phone.
Thats it, now your synced to your google account.

Move contacts from Exchange server to Google

I'm trying to help a friend with a Note and I can't figure out how to do this at all. Basically, he has a ton of contacts that are synced with our exchange server at work but he wants them to be synced through Google instead. How do I get them from his exchange account to his Google account? I've looked through everything on his phone and can't find a place to do this. Is this even possible or am I crazy?
goto https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gappssync and have him install the program on his pc.
Thanks for the info. I gave him the link, not sure if it worked or not. I really thought there would be something on the phone to do this. On my One X there is a way to import my contacts from one account to my Google account but couldn't find anything like that on his Note.
He can import contacts to his Gmail account through settings and they will show up on his phone.

[Q] sync contacts multiple google accounts

I have the phone running Android 2.3.4 (rooted).
I have two Google accounts setup on my phone. I use both of them as there are apps purchased from both accounts.
I would like to sync contacts from my phone to BOTH the accounts. As of now, contacts are being synced to just one Google Account. In the "Accounts and Sync", I see both the Google Accounts listed, with the "Sync Contacts" option enabled for both accounts.
Is it possible to sync contacts to both GOOGLE accounts from the phone? If yes, how?
Any help is appreciated.
Shameless bump... any help please?
So you want to have
Contact X to be on both Google Account A and on Google Account B at the same time? and have it appear two times on your phone?
I want contact X to be shown in both google accounts, A & B. However, I will prefer no duplication in the phone.

I'm also interested in this. In Options/Filter you can choose which accounts will display contacts, so you can avoid seeing duplicated contacts. Basically I'm interested in keeping the contacts in my personal Google account (which is the one synced with Outlook, to which I add new contacts) synced with my school Google apps account and ideally my Live account, for when I have to use the webmail interface of either one of those two. An option that pours (one-way sync) the contacts from one account to the other is also ok, as I don't expect to have anything synced from my school or Live account to my personal one.

Calendar without calendar account?

I'm running custom rom with nano gapps and are having some trouble using calendars. I've tried multiple calender apps but none of them work, they keep saying I have to supply a calendar account. The problem is that I don't want sync my calendar with google, and even if I did want that, I can't seem to add a calendar account. When I select to add a new account, it tells me to login into my google account. I enter my email and it says I can't use that as I'm already logged in...
Is there really no true offline calendar app?
