[Q] Flappybird apk wont install - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Ok, when i try to install flappybird apk it says: app not installed. i have never installed this yet i just got my brand new nexus 7 today. Help Please.

I've had an issue with this in the past from a different app. If you've tried different apk files and are still getting the same issue. Then push the apk to your device change it to the correct permission then restart your device.

New rom? Bad rom flash ? Try install using emulator or ADB
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA Premium App
Have you tried installing through adb ? And what apps are you trying to install ?
Another thing to try is putting the app on your sdcard and moving it to /data/app with a file manager.
I've tried multiple roms same issue and I haven't tried adb can you explain how to do it through adb? First it's set cpu and the second is HTC calibration app

Maybe try fixing permissions and clearing cache In recovery, then try and install the apk
****'ll Buff Out
If a apk wasn't signed it won't install... You will have issue with things It won't show up on your phone.. You can try throwing it in the rom somewhere like the app section and you might get it to pop up and work. You can flash and turn of check for sig and it should install fine..

It's a security thing I think. I forgot the exact solution but I remember having the same problem and I searched and found a solution somewhere on the internet. I do remember deleting an app and the issue was fixed. I'll look and see if I can find the solution.
EDIT: FOUND IT!! You must diable screen filter and you'll be good to go.

[Q] Stock Apps on Custon ROM

Hi Guys, This is my first thread here. I'm new to Android and flashing custom ROM's. I've recently bought Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-i9300 (International version). I used Siyah kernel for Dual-Booting FoxHound along with Stock ROM. I really liked FoxHound because of improved performance, beats audio etc. I've decided to flash FoxHound as only ROM on my device but I fear that it will also remove the stock samsung apps which I really find useful.
S Memo
S Suggest
S Planner
Is there any way to get these apps on FoxHound? Sorry I couldn't find any similar post here that's why I'm asking
You could use root explorer, copy them to your sdcard and install on your new rom. Should work fine if they don't have any other dependancies.
Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
you need to copy them to /system/app
as long as it's a Sammy ROM, it should work
I tried that but when I copy SMemo files to system/apps using root explorer it says that the files are copied successfully but they don't... Any solution for this I guess it has something to do with the permissions

Still Not Working...
The SMemo.apk's permissions are (rw-rw-r) and to move it to system/apps the permissions should be (rw-r-r). When I change the permissions they still look unchanged...
Are you sure you've given root access to root explorer...try changing the permissions with chmod command.

I've edited their permission to rw--r--r (0644) but the apps says 'Changing Permissions was not successful. Please note that some file systems do not allow permission changes.'
Update: Thank you guys, I've figured it out and now its working. Can you please tell me After moving S Memo files to System/apps should i install them manually?

I was saying that launching the apk manually won't install it.
Try clearing its data and make sure it's from the same firmware version

I downloaded S Memo apk for 4.1.2 JellyBean from this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1969991 and that worked like charm. Thanks
I'm also looking for Stock Music Player, I downloaded apk from same link but it is not working. Again it gives a pop up saying 'Unfortunately Music player has stopped'. I tried clearing data several times but no luck. Any solution?

Did you install the Safestrap .apk after you did the ROM then run the "install recovery" from within Safestrap after you did your ROM?

I believe I just ran the ROMwwithout flashing anything else.
I should have stuck with hyperdrive.
I can use my phone and internet but the play store is out of commission for me.
I've wiped and deleted and force closed about everything related to downloading an apk.

It sounds like it'd be best if you ODIN'd back to stock and started over.
If nothing else works try the dreaded Odin route
Sent from my Beastly powered S4 using Tapatalk
Any links you could put me on for the Galaxy S4 ?
Also why is Odin dreaded?
Don't need to odin. Just simply download the apk, copy it from your SD card and paste it in your system/app folder. Once pasted, change permission to -rw -r -r. Now you'll see it in your app drawer.
Off-topic: There's something wrong with the default containers services on that rom. Everyone thinks it's a Google Play store error, nobody even bothered checking the logcat to see why...lol...I haven't gotten around to trying to fix it yet.

You're not trying to install it automatically. You're installing it manually by playing it into your app folder and changing permissions. Read my post and follow it and you will be golden, the concept is the same for all android devices
Eclipse comes with a file manager included.

I had such error on my SGY. I updated su binary, then I installed busybox 1.21.1 from Stericson's busybox installer (get it on Play Store).
Then problem was solved.
I'm trying to install the Framework, when I go into the app and then press install/update, I get a window that says:
Copying Xposed-Disabler-Recovery.zip...
Could not extract Xposed-Disabler-Recovery.zip
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, restarted the phone and still getting the same issue. never had this problem before, can anyone help?

If you are trying to install Xposed on a newer Samsung device, Knox and SELInux will fight you. I'm guessing you are running what is in your in your sig, so probably not Knox. Install this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mrbimc.selinux Grant SU, change to Permissive, reboot (may not be necessary, but doesn't hurt), and try again.

What version of Xposed are you trying to install? Do you have a custom recovery? If so, Xposed 2.5+ will give you an option to install normal via system or you can pick the option to install via recovery. I'd go that route. It's at the top of the framework install part of Xposed - there is a drop down box to choose install methods.
Edit: Looked at the picture you posted and you definitely have the newer version.

It very well could be something in it that isn't being friendly to the normal framework install method, but lemme know if it works the other installation way. If it does, then not a big deal either way.

I tried the other way and I still had the issue. So I did a clean installation of the rom again and it works now.
I guess something went wring when installing the rom which may have caused the issue.

What you want to do also after installing the rom freshly. Install the xposed v 2.5 rather than 2.5.1 because 2.5 works perfectly and there's no real need in updating it

I am having the same issue with the could not extract the zip file. I have tried what was suggested on this thread as well as reinstalled the rom 3 times. I have used this rom before with no problems. The only two other things I can think of trying are full wipe and format of the sd card or full unroot and revert to stock then reroot and try the rom again. Any thoughts?

You're using 2.5 (not 2.5.1) and still having issues? What phone, rom, etc? Might try rolling back to 2.4.1.
I have a Galaxy Note 3 and running wicked rom. I was having the problem just on 2.5.1 but on 2.5 everything would load but none of the modules were working after rebooting. Everything checked out (installed and unzipped) with no errors on 2.5.

Weird...What modules were you trying to use? When you go into the Framework part, does it show the app_process and XposedBridge.jar as green / active?
It did for the 2.5 version even tho nothing was working. I reverted back to 2.4.1 and things seem to be working at the moment. I was running Wanam and the kbs network module. I'm going to try and play around tonight with some other modules and see if the problem persists.

Camera issue.

So I downloaded 4.4.2 and flashed it to my Verizon G2, messed with the camera app and deleted it.. Someone gave me a download file but when I install it it says it cannot be installed. Any help? I moved the apk to system/app and changed then permissions to match the same as the other apps in that folder.
