[req]kk rom aokp based - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there to all devs, i seen that one of xda member , @victorator, has managed to build AOKP based kk rom. Im using his rom for more then a week, and its good, no problems with music like with CM based roms. the rom is pretty clean with not too much customising options. Plus it seems that the builder has left the project, or at least it is unknown if he gonna continue with this project
Can anyone that knows to build want to ask @victorator for permission and pls try and make something with this rom? Its a good base but can be made a lt better.
Thanks for listening
Sol

Cyanogenmod 9 questions

Hi all just upgraded from a galaxy nexus so I've gone fond of cm9 and stock(vanilla), android and was wondering when cm9 comes available to gs3 will it not be porting over a few features that makes gs3 stand out from all the rest like tracking eye movement or other such features
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
Don't expect it in the beginning. CM9 will be just like it is on all other devices. The eye tracking and other features will be ROM specific to the Samsung ROM. I imagine that some savvy developers will come up with an add on for these features or even the CM9 team themselves to build it into their code but that will take time.
Should read this http://opendesign.bbqdroid.org/features
Ok thanks but would you stay with stock roms till the intergration of such features and implemented

If yo want those features, yes.
It's only a matter of time when CM9 would be released. They won't be making it but porting it and resizing it to fit in with dimenssions of the phone. exceptional features like the eye detection would be there if not right on the release. Though CM aims to get rid poitless stock apps and features, the main and usefull ones are not only kept, but improvised and implented in different ways. So ye keep your eyes out for it to come soon
Im surprised. Theres only one rom out lol

Please help!

hey guys... ok here is the situation... I have been through the following Roms...
[ROM] OnlyOne Goldie B5 - UCLE2 *SGS III TW* *SVoice* - Stock, Rooted, Deodexed- 6/12
[ROM-CM10HYBRID]PARANOIDANDROID [1.9.7a]: *Peanut Butter Jelly Time!* -[AUG09]
{ROM}{UCLF6}ICS Black ★ STAR V ,
[ROM][OFFICIAL] CyanogenMod 9 Nightly Builds for SGH-I717
[ROM]4.1.1[Android Open Kang Project] JB PReview august 9 build
now... all these roms are good and THANK you so much to all of the developers that have put so much time and effort into creating these.. I am not *****ing or complaining... all I am asking is if there is a rom out there that is STABLE... I have looked through quite a few of the threads...(I will admit not EVERY post in EVERY thread) but each rom has something different that is just a deal breaker for me... the closest I came to the perfect rom... or one that I liked the most rather was {ROM]4.1.1[Android Open Kang Project] JB PReview august 9 build
but even with that one.. cam video did not work... as well as tether... those are just the two that were deal breakers for me...
My question is what roms are you guys using as daily drivers... NO force restarts... cam works tether works... you know all the daily driver stuff?
please help me... thanks guys..
DaGr8 ICS aokp with hotkernel. Its good stuff.

2 words - Gubment Cheese. Everything works on this ROM as far as my particular testing goes. Throw in FJ Tools to complete the package and this one now is now my DD. I flashed in Google Now last night and have been test driving it all day. So far, this ROM fits me best. Since everyone has different needs, u should just try them all and see what works best for your situation.
As a side note: what did u find as your deal breaker in the BlackStar V .
Rom? I found that one to be very stable myself.

There is good news coming regarding the video issue. Someone fixed it. So now its just a matter of waiting for the devs to incorporate it into their roms. It's just a matter of a day or two if you can hold off. Almost all Jellybean roms didnt have video working because their source didnt have it working. (Cyanogenmod) So there was nothing they could do about it you just kinda have to take em how they were. My faves so far are ParanoidAndroid and Open Kang Project
if the cm9 nightlies arn't stable enough for you then good luck buddy. this thread is dildos.
My best ....
For nostalgia reasons .....stock rooted ICS 4.0.4 from bigfau...(the better stock )
And a great rom all around : flappjaxxx UCLF6 build #4 (discontinued)
And honestly ...my best battery /camera etc ...is the stock UCLA1 rooted and stripped of the bloat ...(people hate this rom )...LOL
That's my .02 today ....g
wow. guys thanks for all the replies this is why I love this community even with a "dildo" ish thread post I still get replies that help me out... thanks
as far as the Blackstar rom just did not like it really.. (no offence at all to the devs)
@joel .. i was looking into Gubment Cheeze there was something in the OP that made me not want to flash... i cannot remember what it was now and when i went to look it up i did not see anything so maybe the bug was fixed... thanks for the suggestion that is the one I will flash... thanks guys really appreciate it... and to all the devs YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING and allow us to do AMAZING things with our devices THANK YOU!!!!
Cool let me know what u think.

im on that gubment cheese as well. 2nd rom flashed, i had the black star 1 too which was cool. gubment cheese has the option of o/c and going into tablet mode (fj tools). its pretty stable to me.
All roms can be overclocked and put in tablet mode through a kernel flash and changing dpi respectfully.

[Request] PACman rom

this is pacman rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1892040
paranoid android+ AOPK +Cyanogen mod
is it possible to port or make something like that for our device?
thanx
i agree it would be very nice to run this on my phone
it will be great to have this rom in our phone, but, you really think this rom can work on our little phone???
Great rom, but need dev's to port :/
come on, that rom is for device with more "power" than or x10 mimmi, don't think that something like that would run smoothly in our phones...
From ARMv7 to ARMv6? Probably it's very difficult, rather too difficult to one of developers take this work.
You can yes or not

[Q] Developers and Android 4.3.0

Hello.
1. Are there some devs here that that already have JB roms like 4.1.2 and 4.2.2 and are now working on building a 4.3.0 rom?
I do know that CM 10.2 it out in early stage.
Don´t know if dews want to keep unreleased work a secret, but it would be nice to know if some recognized devs are at least planning on a rom based on 4.3.0 for our SGS2
2. What advantages and features/new things can we expect with 4.3.0?
Thanks for answers

features such as restricted user profiles (only on tablets), Bluetooth Low Energy profile, virtual surround sound, autocomplete for dialpad, improved keyboard, OpenGL ES 3.0 support and a handful of other things

Think about it this way...You're a developer; the SGS2 was released >2 yrs ago & has been superceded twice (and will likely be superceded again within 12 mths), why would you bother putting yourself through the kind of grief you go through (as a result of Samsung's stupidity with sources) everytime a new Android version is released yet again for a phone 3x superceded ?
Answer - very few devs would bother. If I were one, I would have moved on from the SGS2 12 mths ago.

Why close it? At least give me a reason thank you.
@MistahBungle
I get your point.
But the other roms live on. It´s still has a large amount of users in the world.
Why not do it just for fun? That it can be done? The dev still use a SGS2?
I can think of many reasons to do a rom based on 4.3.0.
Custom 4.3 ? Yes there's a few sorting this as we speak. Some are in testing now. Read threads mate.

Sweet. Will do.
Anny thread you can recommend?
I was hoping some devs would read this thread and say something about what they are doing.

[Q] Possible to port PA over? I'd love to try!

Hey guys, I have no experience in porting ROMs so bear with me here. Firstly, would it be possible for me to port PA from the Nexus 5 over to the Xperia Z2? I am running stock at the moment (rooted/LB but will be open to unlocking) on the Z2. If so, should I just follow this guide? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1908008 . If it is not possible, could someone please briefly explain in layman terms as to why it isn't? If it isn't possible it was worth a shot asking anyway!
I don't have the patience to wait for a port sometime in the summer when Sony finally decides to release the phone in America and if I can make a contribution by porting over an awesome ROM and learning something then that would be great! I'm not looking to change PA or add features etc. Just a port built directly from their source.
Thanks in advance for any help! :highfive:
I heard that someone is waiting for stable releases of official CM11 to port
I also heard that we may posibly get official as soon as CM11 becomes stable
Id say wait a tiny bit

Thanks for replying! After I posted this thread, I looked at some of the CM threads and they all have camera/touchscreen problems so you're probably right, I'll wait it out a little while longer. Although that itch to flash the new PA release is becoming unbearable!

I may actually try to just do a PA port with one of the CM11 nightlies for personal use to see if I can even do it for a start :fingers-crossed: if things work out and there isn't a port when CM is a little more stable, I will see if I can port it over. It'll be the first time I'll be doing anything like this and I'd love to contribute to the Z2 in some way so it'll be great practice for me!
