Nevermind.

VirtueToVice said:
As far as I'm aware, the Sprint Mega, like many Sprint devices, are strictly CDMA. The only exception I can think of is Crapple products which can be GSM unlocked with something called a GEVEY SIM which in my experience isn't exactly reliable. Anyone can correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the SIM card in most Sprint devices only controls the 4G LTE so it's sorta GSM but not really. My suggestion would be to look into getting the phones "flashed", or reprogrammed for another carrier. Here in my locality flashing CDMA devices to nTelos is extremely popular, as they have a $45 unlimited everything plan with no real data cap. They simply do a SLIGHT throttle after around 15GB. There are several other CDMA prepaid companies across the US. The only nationwide ones I can think of are Pageplus, Selectel, and maybe Straight Talk. All offer low cost unlimited plans. Some have data caps and throttling, but pretty good bang for the buck! Should you decide to try and flash for yourself, Wireless Workshop offers a "trial" account, if you can provide any kind of company information. We use them at our store and they can flash pretty much any major handset. All said and done, look into flashing those to a prepaid carrier, as these are AWESOME phones. Good luck!

Dude don't go telling everyone about how Sprint phones are strictly cdma. Im tired of people on these forums spreading misinformation. This is not the year 2008. Back then all Sprint phones were strictly cdma. Not so today and yes the Sprint mega has gsm capability. It's even listed in the settings, but is greyed out. So the Sprint galaxy s4 is strictly cdma too? Lol go do your homework.

"as far as I'm aware"
I was simply offering what I did/did not know for sure, and some information for a way to take it to another carrier that I DO know about. For one, I've never had a fully operational Mega in my hand to see that it offered a greyed out GSM menu in the settings. My bad, dude. :good:
In fact, I'm trying to resurrect one right now. Software is totally borked.
Anyway, good luck figuring out the GSM unlock!

I successfully unlocked the Mega to work on T-Mobile as well as the Sprint Note 3, Sprint Note 2 and Sprint S5
I'm working on making a program to UICC unlock the device without having to call Sprint to get it internationally unlocked, I also have a program that will open the service menu option to reprogram the phone if you cannot reach it through dialer codes.
Quite simple once you get the whole process down.

Galaxy Note ATT on Tmobile 3g?

Hi, I have been reading some posts in the Radio thread reporting that they are using the T-mobile Modem. It was unclear whether they had it working on the T-mobile network or just using the modem on the ATT network.
Is there anyone here using the Galaxy Note on T-mobiles 1700Mhz AWS 3G band and getting internet and sms and everything no problem?
I just want to make sure before I go out and purchase one for a lot of money and not have it working.
I will test it once my Note comes in on Wednesday.
My plan is to unlock it here [ http://www.cellunlocker.net/ ], then Odin a t989 modem and test away.
If anyone already has a Note is willing to try this then go for it.
The Att Note does NOT use the 1700mhz band for AWS. I am on my phone but if you want a link Engadget wrote a whole article on it.

Yes, because out of the box it doesn't work. The skyrocket required a t989 modem, so its safe to say this does also.
Now it very well could still not work even after a modem flash... but its worth a try

I don't believe that one would work.. our best bet for that is to have a developer who is partial to T-Mobile and takes the version from the t989 and adds it to a rom.
I'm sure it could be done, but we would have to convince a dev to help.

(Q) rooted sprint phone on Verizon?

Hello, I'm trying to do some homework for a friend. Before I get him to root his phone, could his rooted note 3 be used on Verizon or any other carrier?
Thank you.
Sent from my XT1058 using XDA Free mobile app
Verizon no. Gsm carrier maybe but not at full speeds. Buying a phone and wanting to get it working in another carrier isn't the wisest thing to do to save money. Phones are NOT 100% interchangeable between carriers. Your friend might have bought an expensive paperweight or 2g phone.

[SOLVED] Unlock SIM Sprint note 3 without Sprint to use worldwide GSM network

HOT NEWS for who own sprint note 3, I finally cracked my sprint note 3 to use it with any gsm network without sprint even if you have a bad ESN. MOD EDIT: There can be no "donations" up front for work...though what you are asking is payment. Please refer to forum rules before posting
That's excellent. Question for you, can you switch between carriers and also use it domestically?
Also, what's so different with yours and all other posts?

yes, you can. others posts talk about domestic unlock after you unlock it by sprint only but me no, I CAN do it without SPRINT
Im willing to donate, but i need proof before and after unlock. At the moment, no one has been successful doing it without sprint unlock.
It's not that I believe is not possible, but the kind of scams these days, money have to be wisely used. Again. If there is proof, you surely receive my money. BTW, with what service provider u test it after unlock? And the internet speed if any?
Thanks in advance, and don't get me wrong. I dont want to be disrespectful to you.

Is this the Version One Click root you were looking for? This is the updated version.
I found it via this article. Chrome detected the Verizon apk as a virus, but that's probably a false positive. The apk does come from XDA.
Blah blah blah, if you install that, I'm not responsible for nuclear war or bricked phones.
I'd try it tonight, but I need to be up for class/work tomorrow.
I don't have much to lose, although I do love this phone. Right now I use it as a server with VIM via Terminal IDE or as a web server with KSWEB. Although I recently converted an old 1.6GHz N270 Atom netbook to do the same thing, it's much louder and hotter, but way more powerful.
I'm just pissed what StraightTalk did to this phone. It's absolutely amazing, but those bastards had to ruin it.

No Custom Roms?

Why after so many months, there are still no custom roms being made for this phone? Is it because of the second screen or because no one cares enough to do one?

Verizon would never activate it on their network anyways, so it doesn't matter. They whitelist IMEIs.

It seems like there is a shortage of devs that purchased this phone.....disappointing to say the least.

I figured being similar to the g4 we wouldn't have issues getting a rom from a dev. I read a post from someone saying they were able to get a g4 rom to flash on the v10.

Is that true? If so I will test that out immediately.

My thoughts exactly
The lack of development for this phone is the main reason I wish I didn't get this phone.
It's interesting that there isn't much development on this phone considering its one that seems to appeal to power users with Microsd support, battery removal and the secondary screen.
Well, I would think someone would have to figure out root first since the tmobile version is the only one with root so far.
People seem to be trying but it's slow going!
Sent from my pretty nifty brand new LG V10
