I9200 root after been rooted and updated firmware??? - Samsung Galaxy Mega

Hi folks,
Ive been having a strange problem with a couple Galaxy Mega I9200. I have rooted both before without any problems using KINGO originally. The i decided to update both of them with version UBUCNA2. When i tried to re root them back, even though the process have run fine a couple times the phone is not rooting. At this point i dont know what else to do to try to root those phones. I have tried every single method around this forum i think not just KINGO this time. And have not been able to reach root the way it should. Titanium backup shows not able to aquire root priviledges, and other root apps also. Can someone please help me on this?? Keep in mind im not a newbie so dont give me the recovery method advice without something new or to use KINGO because ive have done that already. Thanks a lot guys

You upgraded your phones to the latest knox enabled firmware which has the knox bootloader. You cannot go back to an older firmware or flash a custom rom now.
To root, try the directions provided in this thread and use the melius3gxx files instead of meliusltexx.

Ok thanks, the phones already had the knox apk so my guess was that it was going to be the same thing. Thanks for clarifying that one. And thanks for the advice.

Thanks again, turns out the only thing that is failling root access is when i try to unlock the phone via box. For some reason when its checking for SU access it fails. But thanks anyway i managed to solve the Root problem.

root.
I rooted through Phill touch Recovery.

[Q]Downgrade From Failed Root

I recently tried to root my Thunderbolt on 1.03.605.6 firmware. I used the tool found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1005292 and it updated me to 605.10 and didn't root the phone. I dunno what went wrong (this isn't the first time I've rooted a phone but it is my first HTC) but I can't seem to downgrade back to the stock firmware I had to give the root a second try. I tried these instructions:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1009423, but it appears you need to have root in order to downgrade. How do I go about downgrading back to what I started with so I can root this beast? Thanks in advance.
I may be in the same boat here. Are you sure your at .10?

Yep. Went up from .6 to .10. I'm used to rooting SGS so this firmware jump came as a bit of a surprise for me.
Is the phone working and able to boot up? Are you still looking to root or get completely back to stock?

Should have read the whole thing before responding. I don't believe you need to be rooted to use the back to stock method. I used the manual method of rooting and it was fairly easy. I don't have enough posts to post the youtube link but if you search for "how to root htc thunderbolt" you will see 2 videos by nat3mil. 1 is ADB for dummies and the other is the actual root process.
I'm not rooted as well and want to downgrade. Anyone know how? I just want to get back to stock.
I found the solution. Someone posted the same question to the dev. section a few days ago and it got a solution. Download the stock ROM here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=975888&page=2, rename that file to PG05IMG, move it to your phone, boot into hboot, and it does the rest.

[Q] Frustrating Problem With Rooting

Hi guys. I have a Samsung Galaxy s3 GT-i9300 running 4.1.1 Baseband 19300XXDLIB.
I have been trying and trying and trying for the last few days to root my mobile. I take care following all of the steps and I have tried every type of root program and files I think are available but even though they download to the phone and reboot into their custom recovery, then install the files needed to root, none of them have worked!!
It's strange because the phone is just unrootable it seems. I have tried several versions of Odin. I've tried what should be 1 click rooters but nothing works! The most recent files I have used to download to my phone via Odin were CF-Auto-Root-m0-gti9300, CF-Root-SGS3-v6.4, SuperOneClickv2.2-ShortFuse, SuperOneClickv2.3.1-ShortFuse and SuperOneClickv2.3.3-ShortFuse all of which have been recommended to me and I have strictly followed YouTube videos and written guides. I don't think I am doing anything wrong yet I still have no root access. The last root I tried installed a CWM app (I know it stands for Clock Work Mod but not sure what I am supposed to do with it) but not SuperSU which is supposed to come with it.
Please can someone help? I'm tearing my hair out here!
I should probably point out I am not using the stock ROM as I did manage to brick my phone at one point and had to install another firmware, although I would like to go back to my original firmware yet I am not sure what it was...is it possible to figure out what the stock firmware should be? The phone is unbranded from the UK.
Many thanks

No you can only guess .
TO ROOT .
Factory reset the phone and install CF root 6.4 via Odin .
But its really pointless rooting when you don't have a clue as to why or what .

May also be because your computer hasn't been installed with the samsung drivers yet? Kies i think it's called..
Have you tried downloading supersu from the play store? And be sure to not try superuser but supersu.
I had the same thing with cf-autoroot. supersu wasn't there and I didn't have root. Tried several times, never worked. After that I tried rooting with the old cf-root that also installs cwm recovery. Recovery was there but no supersu and the phone didn't get root. Tried that several times too but that didn't help either, although that is how I rooted my phone successfully right after I had bought it. Went back to cf-autoroot, same result, no root. But as soon as I downloaded the app supersu manually and updated the binarys as it tells you to at first start, I had root.

Kies is not required (and its junkie bloatware that doesn't properly clean itself up on uninstall anyway)
Windows can pull the drivers from WU.
You Sir, are a legend! Thank you very much, you have sorted my problem I had SuperUser instead of SuperSU like you stated. Who would've thought it'd be so easy to fix?

You should probably not just imagine that just because someone has a problem that they don't have a clue what they are doing. I have done this numerous amounts of times with several phones, my Samsung was just slightly more difficult since I had made an easy mistake by not taking note of my original firmware and by not realizing that I needed SuperSU and not SuperUser (which I'm sure is a common and easy mistake).
Try next time not to put a fellow site member down.

[Q] Getting my Galaxy S5 back to factory settings

Hey all,
I hope I am posting in the right section. If I am not please feel free to re-direct me. I have searched for the answer to my question and am not quite seeing the answer.
I have a samsung galaxy S5. I tried rooting it using towelroot. As far as I knew it was rooted. My understanding is that if you are rooted that you cannot get the OTA updates. My phone has an error when trying to install those updates. I tried installing SuperSU. It said I did not have the SU binary. I installed a root checker that stated I did not have an active root. My goal is to get my phone back to factory settings in order to turn it in for a new phone. What do I need to do that? Am I really not rooted anymore? Why won't the updates install then? If I back up my phone and do a factory reset will I run into any problems?
I understand that I am an absolute novice at this so any help is totally appreciated!
Try to flash the stock rom.
Try to flash the stock rom of your s5,then you can back to your stock and can update your mobile.

Did you use the apk or the PC version to obtain root?
how did this work
So did you ever find out if the PC or apk was used. Was there any issues, how did it work. Also has anyone figured out a hotspot mod for this device. I have it on the boost unlimited plan. I really need the hotspot.
Kingroot non PC version will work on any device but you ever uninstall king root will not reroot that device
My question is will the PC versipn?
kingroot
So I can just install the kingroot apk and it should root my device. I am kinda new to this. Will it also install SuperSU or will I need to find a way to flash it, if I need it at all. Also. Does anybody know about how to get free hotspot. I read that changing the apk to end in dun will work. Anybody know for sure.
Yes second try but if you ever uninstall you will be looking for a new way king root will not work a second time nomatter how you try but its safe will not brick device and will cover as antivirus phone protection oh if use antivirus get rid myself f it before you try kingroot or your phone will glitch king root is read as threat because it has no limitations on what it can do BTW I use the y538 model
hotspot
Have you found a hotspot hack or mod. I am gonna wait till I know I can get free hotspot before I root it.
I have my y538 rooted but I really want a custom recovery or rom anyone got one or know how
King root didn't work for me I've tried all and PC version, but very new to android and rooting. When I run the app it gets about halfway then stops and wont. Is there anything else I should've done as well, sorry but can't find anything, anywhere else about rooting this phone and version

Use KingRoot APK, does it easily.
I dont like the app myself so im going to remove it with lucky patcher soon. Once king root is installed into the system i cant get him out for fear of loosing root. I just installed SuperSu fromChaindd but now I can not update the binary, Im going to clone superuser from my other phone so hes updated and then may he will stay updated when I install to system app with lucky patcher.
Oh, and by the way, Your bootloader is locked so you wont be able to change the rom. SuperSu couldnt even install himself into the system like he has on every other phone. Dont even try to install a recovery at this point because your phone may never boot again!
Someone is going to have to dump a backup and figure out how to fool the checks into thinking its a real OTA update on the way back in.

Samsung sm-j100vpp, 5.1.1

Running a stock 5.1.1, I need root, and to unlock the carrier. its meant to be a prepaid phone, but i want to put my regular verizon service on it. ***Willing to do what is necessary in the name of android.

Check forums for firmware, i believe if its .tat.md5 odin flashes it regardless of the aboot version. Thus downgrading your bootloader & allowing root. xD
