So this is basically a stock 4.4.2? If we didn't make a backup of a fresh installed 4.4.2, we can use this?

Could this be used as a 'return to stock' before a potential ota?

I think so as long as you used the odexed version. I don't know if it being pre rooted would affect it at all or not.

I don't think you could Ota with root. My Ota failed when I was stock with stock recovery but rooted. I mfastbooted system from stock firmware and lost root but then it would accept ota

I wondered about that. I believe OTA's check the contents of /system before flashing and if it doesn't match exactly then the OTA fails.

This.
Gotta have specific apps installed.. Not frozen..and be on stock recovery. You'll get nagged if an OTA is available but it will fail install unless on stock recovery.
There is a method to be able to flash via TWRP..I can't remember where I saw it..and I can't say it works because I didn't try it.
On a Dev unit ( or those who umm..have the unlocked B/L.. Root isn't an issue to regain.

Soooo if I've already flashed this http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/development/xt1060-164-55-2-unofficial-fxz-unlocked-t2659682 ... i take it there's no difference vs. your odexed version? I mean sure they are flashed differently, but functionally there should be no diff?
Similarly, if I feel like I wanted to reflash, without clearing data, there is no problem, flashing yours?

Thanks guys

Does anyone have the MD5 of either version?

[Q] Need to go back to stock

Is there a Stock 2.605.19 Rom out there? I used titanium backup, and now my BT Headset is connecting to my phone, but the calls are not routing to the phone. I have tried another rom, but that did no good. I have seen in another forum that this is what the person that had the same problem I am currently having. I have not seen any 605.19 roms out there and want to get back to that particular rom.
I do not want to use a custom rom, I may just unroot afterwards. I am not far off from looking at an update.
Can someone hook me up.
straight 2.605.19 71ORD rom. I will remain rooted, but want the ability to unroot without having to find a stock rom/radio
Thank You in Advance

Thanks for the quick reply...I'm guessing I will have to go into recovery and triple wipe then reboot to bootloader before flashing.
I have been going through Google looking for this ROM...with no success...thanks for posting it.
Ruu aren't flashed in recovery. Rename it to PG05IMG and put it on the root of your SD. Then reboot into the boot loader and flash it in fast boot. Make sure you have a good charge on your phone first.

I understand that (still waiting for the download to finish...taking quite a while)...what I was asking was, should I go into recovery and do a full wipe 3x then boot into bootloader and install making sure it's a clean install?
Installing an ruu is the equivalent of doing a factory reset so it isn't necessary.

If you just want a stock 2.11.605.19 rom and wanna stay rooted, you could always flash a stock rooted, deodexed version of the rom.
Then you don't have to reroot.
Just a suggestion, HERE's a LINK.

Thanks HAHA. I know its a rom just was not sure if the same would happen like the 204 update. Thanks for posting this.
Thanks! Was trying to apply the OTA manually and I was having file mismatches even though I used the "stock" 2.04 ROM. Hopefully this one is closer to actual "stock" if we get another OTA at some point.

File wouldn't transfer to my DNA until I named it something other than .zip, and WinRAR is saying the archive is corrupt even though it opens and I can view its contents. Anyone else have this problem? Almost afraid to try to flash this.

Also, I verified the checksum and my download matches what was uploaded.
One more thing.. a repair with WinRAR only recovered 1863 out of the 2085 files. Something is definitely not right.

yeah that was what I tried first, and it told me i wasnt rooted, I had successfully booted to recovery earlier.
something flaky must have happened. I am S-off so I am hoping maybe flash recovery again and then SU and hopefully back to rooted.
Edit ** Adb reboot recovery and i flashed su again now quickboot, root explorer, etc seem ok.
Weird
This ROM uses Superuser. If you use SuperSU like me, it could have caused a conflict. I removed it before flashing, but you can use RootExplorer to remove it, too, as long as your root is currently working.
This can be flashed over previous ota rooted correct? Gosh I hope this stops the constant Verizon update message.

none that I can see other than it's updated, for all we know it could contain security updates, patched exploits, ect... Guys...it takes like a minute to reroot using iorootv11. Just do it after the OTA update. There is no point of trying to use apps to try to preserve root when it is so simple.
Any chance we'll see a TWRP flashable version of stock ZV8? I'd use the LG tool to start over, update to ZV8, root, etc., but then I'd have to apply all the xposed mods, set things how they were etc. I tried flashing stock recovery, then doing the update the normal way, but it led to a bootloop and didn't work.
Edit - Or can someone tell me how they flashed stock recovery, where I can get the recovery, and whether or not it worked? I got my stock recovery zip from a Sprint user in the the TWRP thread, but could only flash it via flashify. Flashing the zip via TWRP would not work.

If you have a stock rom backup you should be able to take the OTA no problem. You just can't have anything modified in the system partition, if you do it will fail.
I just restored my untouched/unmodified stock backup and flash stock recovery and got the OTA from system updates.

I reflashed the stock recovery for the OTA, but my rom backup already had some of the bloat taken out, and other apps updated. For instance, when I tried to run the OTA is said that Kindle was not as expected, since the update was integrated into the system rom. Would I then have to wait for the odexed version of your stock version, and then have the OTA included anyway?

Shoot xposed framework had to be flashed from recovery since i still have write protection on and it needed to be a system app.

The word "firmware" is rather generalized and can apply to any type of program code flashed to a device. Don't feel dumb, because the term "firmware" is sometimes used on XDA interchangeably with the word ROM.
But their are other times when folks talk about "the firmware" (such as in posts 5 and 6 above) to mean "the other modules that are included in the 1.58 OTA aside from the ROM". I haven't looked at this particular firmware zip, but they can typically contain: hboot, kernel, radio, WiFi, media and possibly other modules.
These other modules are typically not needed to run a particular ROM. But it might be argued, if they cared enough to change them, there might be something in there worth installing.
Personally, I'm rarely in the practice up updating the firmware packages, and have only rarely seen it make much difference.
