Make sure you rename the cwm recovery to "recovery.img" without the quotes. Put the recovery.img into the android SDK platform tools folder.
Use command prompt and type -
cd \Android\android-sdk\platform-tools
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
If recovery is successfully installed you'll receive a notification that say's -

You have to install the fastboot drivers twice to get it to work right.
Put the recovery.img on the sdcard of the phone and try the Flashify (root) App from the play store and it should install the recovery just fine.

Just root it easily with Cydia Impactor...
Download the Cydia Impactor tool to your pc from the Cydia Impactor website. Extract the zip to a new folder on your desktop. Connect your L9 to your PC with USB debugging enabled and open the extracted cydia folder and click on and run the Impactor.exe, when the Impactor tool opens just click on the start button. Cydia will root your phone in like 5 to 10 seconds.
Download SuperSU from the play store, install and done.

I just want to make sure that you successfully unlocked the bootloader... When you issued the "adb reboot oem unlock" command you were taken to a confirmation screen to unlock the bootloader and you had to use the volume key to confirm unlock?
Just want to be sure so you don't have any security errors or a brick.

Hi could somebody help me? Thanks!

Awesome... I'm glad I was able to help you.
Before you do anything else, make sure you perform a nandroid backup of your device through cwm now and make the backup to the SD card and not on the device so it doesn't take up unnecessary space on the internal memory.
Before you flash a custom ROM make sure you read through the OP's ROM flashing instructions and prerequisite to make sure it's compatible with your device and cwm version.
Enjoy the new possibilities of your phone and happy ROM flashing!

OR install TWRP custom recovery from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1994662
[At the moment CWM seems to be more stable] [DO NOT INSTALL BOTH! ONE OR THE OTHER!]
2) download rom on your phone and put in SDCARD. [it should already be there, most likely in the "download" folder. OR download the rom to your computer and transfer it to your phone
3. Download the Boot.img Onto your computer
4. Make a folder in C: called android. put he boot.img in it
5. Connect your phone to your computer, and make sure your htc drivers are installed and usb debugging is on. [Setting>Developer options>Then Check USB DEBUGGING]
6. Open Command Prompt (To get there you click start> Type in CMD on search > and then click command Prompt.)
7. In command prompt Type in "Adb Reboot bootloader"
8. That should put your phone into boot loader.
9. Then in CMD type "Fastboot flash boot <C:\android\boot.img>"
10. Once that is done you can close CMD
11.) Reboot your phone, and hold down on the volume rocker at the same time to get into bootloader.
12.) Now go to recovery and press power to click. (In recovery you use volume rockers to go up and down and power to click)
13) *make a backup in case anything goes wrong*
14) Then full wipe (cache, davlik, factory, etc)
15) go to install and find the .zip file of the rom and flash it, be patient it may take a while

By using adb and the fastboot program, found in the sdk-tools, you don't necessarily need S-off for anything. Most of the stuff you need s-off for is avoided using the sdk-tools.

Ehmm no. After you unlocked your bootloader you have to download a custom recovery (CWM or TWRP - ICS/JB version, depends of your bootloader), then download android sdk or only adb tools and open cmd on adb folder and type "fastboot flash recovery recovery_downloaded.img" then you can root your stock rom or install a custom one.
To root just download Desire X Multi Tool by hasoon2000 and flash Superuser.zip in recovery or just open the tool and press Root.
