[Q] Root for newest firmware (w/o unlocking the bootloader) - Xperia Tablet Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everybody,
I have the wifi version of the Xperia Tablet Z (SGP312) with firmware 10.4.B.0.577.
The tablet is rooted but the bootloader is not unlocked so there is no recovery installed either.
My issue is: I would love to update my tablet to the latest firmware (is it 10.4.1.B.0.101?) and keeping root but I can't find a way of how to do this w/o unlocking the bootloader (which I'd prefer not to do).
I'd be so gracious if someone could help me with this. I have to admit that I can't even quite remember the way how I got my root for this firmware. I just remember it was a hard way to finally get there.

[Q] Root / Unroot device

Hi all, coming from IOS I find all this rooting / bootloader unlocking etc quite confusing as apparently there are some restrictions when wanting to go back to the stock (non-rooted) rom.
So here is my question:
I know relocking the bootloader is quite a specific job, I won't touch that.
As far as I know, if you only want to root the stock rom, you don't need to unlock that bootloader. Is that right?
As I'm on .62 with my mini pro, I need to downgrade to an older version, root it and then do an OTA upgrade to .62 again. I will keep my root then.
My question is: can I revert to a non-rooted version easily?
I still want to be able to test the upcoming ICS version.
I don't want to loose DRM etc, but as I understood this has nothing to do with rooting your device, only with unlocking the bootloader. Right?
Can this be confirmed?

No, you dont need to unlock yout bootloader yo get root. Rooting your device will have to affect with the bootloader and DRM is only removed from unlocking the bootloader. You can easily un-root your phone if you use Doom Lord's root method as he gives a file to unroot.
Thx for the info!
Or you can flash .58 firmware again and root will be gone,
Hello, I want to know how I can unroot my cell phone but I don´t understand when you say something about "Doom Lord's root method". I couldn´t find this in the forum. Can you tell me something about this method? Or can you explain me about how to unroot my Xperia Mini Pro.
PD: I am from Argentina and I have a SK17a.

Question about the Z2 tablet from Bell

I just wanted to get some info. I currently have this tablet from Bell. I know the bootloader is locked and I can't unlock it, so does that mean even with dualrecovery, I can't use any custom roms at all?

Can I install CyanogenMod?

Just recently purchased the Xperia Z2 Tablet and I'm very disappointed to find that I can't unlock my bootloader. I read a post on here that mentioned it was still possible to install CM on a locked bootloader. Could anyone explain to me how I could do this or link me to a thread that will help? Here's my device info:
Model SPG561
Android v4.4.4
Build 23.0.1E.0.208
Currently unrooted.
I actually got this today after returning a tablet just because I couldn't install CM or unlock the bootloader. I'm very close to just returning this and getting a different one. If I'm **** out of luck with the Z2, could anyone recommend a Verizon LTE tablet, with good specs, that will allow me to unlock the bootloader? I'm getting desperate.
Thanks for any help.

I can't see how you could flash CM on a locked boot loader as it requires a custom kernel.
I don't know anything about the Samsung tablets on vzw but I suspect they are locked down. The LG tablet can be "unlocked" with bump but its a piece of garbage. If the Nexus 9 is available for vzw its probably your only chance at getting an unlocked boot loader. Some of kindle fire tablets can be unlocked as well but they need to be on older firmware AFAIK
Unlocl boot loader
Yes you can unlock bootloader by going the sony site and follow the instructions. I ask you for the emei number ad other things. but follow the instructions carefully.
2nd option. Use Sony mobile flasher by androxyde it works perfectly well on mine. But if youneed to update or upgrade through Sony Compagnon, you will need to relock bootloader, install update and the (re) unlock bootloader. It works for me...

[Q] Root E2303 with latest update?

Hi guys,
I wanted to root my Xperia M4 Aqua (E2303) which is on MM 6.0.1, compilation 26.3.A.1.33 and I haven't found any method to do it without having to unlock the bootloader (I really want to keep it locked, for warranty reasons). I've tried several methods (using .bat files) made for previous compilations and it didn't work, giving me the error that my device wasn't supported. Does anyone know how to do it? Thanks.

On MM unlocked bootloader is required. Try Lollipop.
If you want keep warranty- just unroot then relock bootloader.
Back to 5.0, make TA backup, and go to 6.0.1, unlock bootloader and root, if you phone get broken, back to 5.0, and Block bootloader by restoring TA, and flash newest rom by xperia companion
And what about the camera? If bootloader is unlocked pictures will have worst quality?
Thanlks
No problem with quality of camera after unlocking of bootloader.
