Roocase Origami- http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IB3QL06/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Love this case! Has multiple viewing stands, has a nice rubber feeling to it, auto wake funcionality, and the color is very nice.
Seagate 1tb hard drive- http://www.amazon.com/Seagate-Backup-Portable-External-STDR1000101/dp/B00H4XH5IG/ref=dp_ob_title_ce
With a screen this size, who wouldnt want to watch movies on it? Store tons of movies, music, pictures, and game roms on this
Micro USB otg cable- Stopped working after a month. So the hunt continues for one that won't
iHome Bluetooth keyboard- http://m.walgreens.com/mt/www.walg...sal-bluetooth-keyboard/ID=prod6184879-product
I do not need a keyboard always, the reason i got the tablet in the first place. But when I do, this does the job. Although, it is rather small. That's my ony problem with it.
Incase Macbook Air sleeve- http://www.bestbuy.com/site/incase...lack/1701567.p?id=1218282103906&skuId=1701567
I wanted addition protection for my tablet, but could not find anything that I was happy with. Looking through the sleeves at Best Buy, I found this. With out a case on the tablet, it fits very loosly. With a case, not so bad. Inside of it is very soft as well.
Sony Bluetooth Stereo Headphones- http://www.bestbuy.com/site/blueto...906001&st=sony bluetooth headphones&cp=1&lp=1
Very nice headphones in my opinion. I wanted some that i could connect wirelessly and with a wire. This does both. Fits comfortably on my ears, and the sound is very good. Better sound when connected via 3.5mm cord.
Anker 10,000mah external battery- http://www.amazon.com/10000mAh-Por...F8&qid=1396597041&sr=8-1&keywords=anker+10000
More for my Note 3. But it is always on me, so is my tablet.
Under Armour gym sack- http://www.amazon.com/Under-Armour...6597205&sr=8-3&keywords=under+armour+gym+sack
I have so many things for my electronics and wanted something lightweight to carry them all in. I came across this at a local store, and bought it. Main compartment i can put my tablet, keyboard, headphones, 3ds xl, and a change of clothes. Small pocket carries..... Cleaning cloth, Samsung wall adapter and 3.0 usb cable, hard drive, externel battery, iPod usb cable, iPod, and 3ds charging cable. This is my Nerd bag!

Nice setup. I find it most interesting that the note pro fits an iPad Air sleeve with room to spare. Looking at the differences in the screens, one would not think that to be remotely possible.
From a keyboard standpoint, the Logitech standalone for Android cannot be beat *if* you are looking for keyboards which are not attached to a case. I've used mine on several tablets, all with wonderful success. http://www.logitech.com/en-us/product/tablet-keyboard-android-win8-rt?crid=1242

How did you get the tablet to read ur external hard drive?

Yeah, with a case just length wise there is room. This I don't mind one bit.
That keyboard looks very nice, maybe I will get one. This one is okay, but so very small it is and that makes my hand cramp up when typing. I have been told I have an odd hand positioning when typing on a keyboard.

With the "micro USB otg cable" I posted. But, I would not suggest getting it. After a month, it has stopped working with me hard drive. 5 bucks for a month of usage is fair trade for me lol. No computer, hardly ever use the TV I do own. So always I use this for movies, and TV shows that I have on my hard drive.

Pls help to read external hard drive Note Pro 12.2
Nice Pack.
I tried 2 different portable hard drive fat32 / NTFS (500GB) neither of them worked. I tested the fat32 with note 3 N900 and note 10.1 2014 both worked with no problems but no luck with my new Note pro 12.2 4G :crying:.
Help needed is it hardware or software issue ?

Pretty good mobile set you you got going.:good:

I've been using this for a few months: http://www.amazon.com/Targus-CityGear-Motorola-Samsung-TSM148US/dp/B004H605OY
I usually have the transformer (sometimes docked), wii mote, hdmi cable, charger, cell phone charger, (micro) sd card, flash drives, and a zune hd.
If you live near a BestBuy you can check it out there.

look like that:

I originally got it for my 10" dell ultraportable but my girlfriend has since been using it for the TF+dock and she loves it. Its the predecessor to the ALPHA. They also make one for "ipad" that focuses on the tablet only.

I also have this bag. I like that there are separate padded slots for the dock and the tab if you don't want to keep them together, along with space and pockets for plenty of other accessories. As a Targus product, I expect it to last awhile, as well.

I bought this one: http://gimme.com.au/product/targus-10-dot-2-unofficial-netbook-case-brownlimited-lifetime-tss141us in a store local here in Toronto. It was thier last one and I cant seem to find it on Targus' website so maybe it is last years product.
Either way it is big enough to hold a few things that I carry around including the transformer, it is padded, and it is not too big as to detract from the fact that I bought a tablet.
And as my wife says "The colour even matches! "

+ another 1 for this bag. Plenty of room for accessories (stylus, charging cable & brick). Check around....I picked it up at Office Max on sale for $20.00.
I'm currently using the Vanguard Up-Rise 38. It holds everything for me. My transformer, dock, cables, laptop, anywhere MX mouse, laptop charger. Now when I'm just going around the city my laptop and laptop charger stays home and I can use the extra space to hold a drink, books, camera. Basically, I absolutely love it.

I'm also using this bag as well since I'm always out and about in Atlanta and use my tablet primarily for drawing (Sketchbook Pro) and reading comics! Great bag imo.

love my Targus
I ran across the Targus City Gear bag at Microcenter right after I got my TF. It's great. The padded compartments make me feel safe whether I'm docked or not, and there's lots of room for my portable hdd, mifi hotspot, adapters, and my other tech support tools.
I'm looking to get a bag for my TF. But I need it to be very very water resistant as I live in a place that sometimes gets flash rains. And I prefer sling bags or small bags because, as another poster said, messenger pags are always getting bumped into people and doors. Any suggestions are appeciated.
took a few pics of my swiss bag. Just enough room for an umbrella and TF. You cant really see it in the pics but the bottom kind of "pops out" or expands to allow more room also.
It has been through a few of our DC "random" rains and there was not a drop of water in the bag. Did a fantastic job.

Docking keyboards

With my original samsung 10.1, Newegg sent me a free docking keyboard (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16875998866). Will this work with the galaxy tab 2 10.1? I hope so.
Well took a look at the thickness and it appears that the original tabs were 0.34 and the tab 2 is 0.38. Man that is close

I do not have it yet. While I was waiting for a reply I did find a thread where someone stated they could get it in there but it was really tight. Not sure if I would like putting that much stress on it.
The dock Connector is in the same spot but it is a snug fit and it does need to be forced our it will not fit

Maybe some careful work with a Dremel would do the trick?
Not sure if I would want to do that. I guess when it comes in I will try it and see what happens. If way too tight I will just cry and move on.
Tried the samsung dock. I don't think it's worth it to try to force the tablet into the dock. I went out and bought a Bluetooth keyboard
Sorry to hear it did not work out for you. So which keyboard did you end up getting? I'm considering getting a keyboard also.
I'm going to try sanding an old dock with Dremel, as someone suggested. Will keep you posted.
Sent from my GT-P5100 using xda premium
I was on the road this week and used the OTG USB adapter and a small USB keyboard along with either a stand or my portfolio case. Here's the trick. Put the tablet upside down so the connector is on the top. The screen rotates so you don't care. You have to be careful not to put the device such that the volume buttons get mashed down, but otherwise that's not a problem. The USB port is now on top and you can plug the keyboard in and type.
Not perfect because you can't charge and type at the same time, but not bad for a "field expedient!"
Dremel did the trick
I did some light sanding, grinding and brushing with a Dremel tool, that worked perfectly. I needed about .9mm in thickness and .1mm in width. After about 30 mins work, I was able to fit my P5100 into a dock belonging to a P7500. It now slips in and out perfectly, and will not damage the finish on the tablet.
If you're not confident with a Dremel, you could also use some low gauge sandpaper, which will also work, since there's very little to be adjusted. Be sure to concentrate on the parts protruding from the surface for the corners of the tablet.
Ah, no pics?
I'll post some better ones tomorrow. As you might be able to see, the finish isn't all that great, but it is pretty smooth so it won't scratch the Tab. The tab fits completely clean, shaking the dock does not affect connectivity, all keys work. I'll work on that some more with a rubber attachment or a polisher and post some updates. Here's what I've done so far.

Makes me wanna get one of these instead of waiting on Samsung to release one.
Very nice!!! I bought the dock with my P5113 thinking that they were direct plug and play and didn't realize that the Tab didn't fit in the dock connector.
I've removed the piece that holds the tab in the dock for now and am typing on the keyboard successfully. I'll probably have to do the same thing you did to modify the dock for a proper fit as I'm intending to use the Tab/keyboard combo as a laptop replacement in college this year.

This isn't a docking keyboard, but this is what I finally decided I am getting. What sold me is the size (this is a portable tablet, why do I want a non-portable keyboard?), the fact that is has a mouse nub, and the nice case it comes with which doubles as a tablet stand.

I assume you referring the student edition that released that includes , keyboard and usb adapter.Judging from the pictures of the keyboard I would guess it will not properly due to that part where tablet docks. It sticks up a bit which seems like it would not allow the tablet case to close as the dock connector would be in the screen. That's only my assumption from the pictures I've seen.

Thank you for your speedy reply. Please forgive my ignorance, I don't know what you mean by "student edition". I am probably wrong but I thought the user would unplug the usb and tuck it in the spine area of the cover before closing it. Of course that comes from not remembering where the usb is on the SGT2 but thinking it would be a good habit in general. As I had said I haven't gotten this tablet yet, the check is in the mail as they say. I do have a Nook Tablet that I rooted back the end of December that will be going to my mother as I want to "move up" in my choice of tablets. I would prefer the Samsung Galaxy Note S. I am short on part of the money so that is another determining factor if I should forget the SGT2 and a keyboard and save for the Note and basically not have to worry to match about needing a keyboard. Again Thank You! for your speedy reply. I will continue to look over those pictures to see what I can understand from them.

Ordered one as well. This looks promising!
I ordered one of these things from a different site too.
Only after I ordered did I realise that it probably won't play nice with a case, unlike the DK30 which has the removable insert.
I think the other port could be a pass through. It looks like it takes a micro USB input and has a USB output port.

Cool will be interesting to find out what the usb port is for
one thing is it takes some effort for the phone to be plugged in right, doesnt seem to fit tight into the charger , out of 10 tries i got it to charge once
Yeah.. I was disappointed when the dock arrived today. The problem is that the magnetic connector isn't secured. It keeps moving around. I broke 1 of the 2 clips holding the magnetic connector while I was playing around with it. However I found a solution.... I just super glued the entire fitting under the insert together so it doesn't move around. Then put the insert back. Now it doesn't move and I get a secure connection each time.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
bummer - was hoping it was going to be better. I guess for the price and after the superglue fix its ok. Can't really justify paying $50 for the official DX30.
btw did you work out what the USB port on the back does?
I agree I cannot justify $50 either. But it's not bad after the fix. I have not played around with the USB port yet.

my wife was able to get it to stick by keeping a paper sheet behind the phone while sticking it in the dock
Just thought I'd share a bit in case anyone's wondering what's inside here.
I tore mine apart cause I was curious why I was only reading 0.5V on the terminals (Phone wouldn't connect after trying numerous times) So I decided to see what was inside.
The four screws on the back are under the rubber feet, and it appears all of them were stripped out at the factory due to metal shavings all over the adhesive on the backs of the pads, and the lack of a proper slot on the head.
After removing those, it appears that the connector sits on a hinge piece inside to allow it to move up and down while accommodating the phone in the slot. Unfortunately, the connector attaches with a slot and couple clips, which are fairly weak. On the plus side, there is a rounded holder on the back itself which keeps the plug from being forced too far down inside (hopefully)
The circuit board is very simple, and comes out with 3 screws, one hidden under the rubber square on the board.
There really isn't much there, it appears that the USB port is simply to power a second device. I tested it and power is indeed coming out of that port. I tested it with my laptop and it does not appear that it passes data through that port to the microUSB, so it is a power-only connector. There is also a small fuse on the board.
I reassembled my unit and it has the proper voltage on the terminals, perhaps a loose connection somewhere inside the connector was to blame. It works but does require accurate alignment, no throwing the phone on the dock and expecting it to charge, which is fairly inconvenient. The idea of the mag connector is to be faster and easier than popping a door open and plugging USB in, but here it takes me just as long. Maybe removing the surrounds on the power pins would help, but that would expose it to shorts, so not sure how good of an idea that is.
Anyway, for $14, it works, and seems to charge. If you need a dock, and you don't have the money for the Sony official, this one gets the job done, mostly.

I already knew about that one, but it costs more, and it's a little bigger.

I like the look of this thing and seems capable enough, but I hate the idea of anything like that connected directly to the phone that way. I have looked for micro usb 3.0 and micro usb 2.0 extension cables but i'm not finding much. And what I am finding is kinda pricey. Amazon has two, but reviews on one are iffy and there are none on the other. I did find this site http://www.usbfirewire.com/uextendmicrob.html , but i'm not sure these would work with the desktop dock kit.
Might someone have hands on experience with a < 6" extension cable (either male to male or male to female) that would work with this? Thanks.
I also found a coupon code for 30% off brando products, but I can't see where to apply it on their site or the worldpay site when you check out. Anyone have any idea how to apply a code for them?

This is just what I've been looking for. So at $32 it's a bargain so I took a chance and ordered it.
I'll let you know if it works.

Any reviews? It's nearly a month since your post.
I would also like a review on this hub. Looking to pick it up so I can take my phone around and play my emulators hooked up to a TV.
Desktop Dock Connection Kit
Hi everyone. I just recived my dock.
Unfortunately is MHL 1.1, so all you will have is 1280x720px on the screen. Also it lacks 5.1 sound support (al these features from MHL 2.0).
Works well, but you will see more detailed graphics on the Note III 5,7 inches screen rather than on an 46 inches TV Screen.
OTG Works nice (surprisingly, when you connect a keyboard thru USB, the note screen atomatically tunrs off to save battery and prevent overheating, very nice "hidden" feature from Samsung).
The construction looks cheap, the plastic hasn't nice finishing, but nothing too remarkable. The usb female plugs are tight as ****, so be careful when extracting dongles (specially the cheap ones) because you will left the half of the male conector inside the dock.
Feel free to ask any question or test to make.
Regards

Bluetooth Keyboard

Hi there,
Does anyone have any hands on experience with any Bluetooth keyboards? I'm looking at getting one as i use a lot of office apps on my Note 3.
Can anyone recommend a certain model or brand?
Thanks!

Hi my friend,
Take the Apple bluetooth wireless keyboard ! So far, it is a well built keyboard. When paired with your note 3 all special keys are automatically recognized : Brigthness, volume, multimedia and even exposé button works like a charm. ALT-TAB is working as well to switch from one application to another one.
Cheers
Motorola had one on sale awhile back for $20. Has worked great the few times I've used it.

This is the one I have used for my Android phones and tablets for about a year and a half.
http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-920-...697&sr=8-1&keywords=logitech+android+keyboard
Works great and has Android specific keys that let you do some things right from the keyboard.
I like the Logitech K-810 because it can be paired with three devices at once and hot-key switch between them. Also like the light-up feature when you put your hands near it. Tested and works great with the N3.
Have a pair of Microsoft bluetooth mobile keyboard and mouse 5000. Got them from Officemax or Office Depot in 2010 for $100 pair. They both have auto off just in case you forget to switch them off. Battery last for months. The keyboard had a soft texture mixed with a gloss finish and the keys make no sound when pushed. Worked with my S3 and Note 2 and now my Note 3.

Eww @ your headphones. Lol. Need to upgrade the moga to a moga hero when you catch a sale. Much better ergonomically and the d-pad is a big plus.

I think thats off topic.
Logitech K810, it's perfect. I use it for my desktop, for note 3 and also for my Nexus 10, since it has three easy switch buttons.

stupid question:
are you able to pair a bluetooth keyboard (K810) and a bluetooth mouse with the GalNote3 and use both at the same time?
Well I use Apple bluetooth keyboard for my N3 and I like it.....earlier I have also used it with my ipad and I did not find any problem in using that...so I would say its a very reliable one to use....

You can pair three devices as I do all the time with the Galaxy Note 3. Keyboard and mouse and bluetooth headphones. I mostly do that when its connected wireless via miracast to my tv. Its a beast:thumbup:
What about folding / small portable keyboards?
I happened to see a folding BT keyboard in Brookstone this weekend.
They had a display model and I tested it with my Note 3.
It seemed decent, but I have not yet looked at alternatives yet.
While the Logitech K810 is nice (I have a similar solar flat USB leyboard from Logitech), I am looking for a small, portable keyboard that I can take on the road (vacations etc.).
The Brookstone one is nice for those looking for a smalll portable keyboard (runs about $59.99 so there may be a more affordable alternative).
They also have this one that is a little bigger but still portable in my opinion, perhaps a good balance between form and function.
It is no cheap though! executive-bluetooth-keyboard-set-with-sleeve
They also have a virtual keyboard that uses a projection of a keyboard onto your desk.
Probably an acquired taste.
I just saw a Verbatim BT folding keyboard that is larger, however.
I like the idea of a foldable keyboard, but those I've encountered are very plastic and break easily, are there any high quality keyboards that you can fold up and have in the pocket?

I have a friend that was using something similar for a laptop hooked up to a PC. He said it was alright. I haven't heard any major complaints. I myself am looking for something similar for portable use so I dont have to carry my motorola Bluetooth keyboard and Bluetooth mouse.

It is not very good for typing, but it might be ok for gaming. The keys are small and sit clutch to each other so it is very easy to make typos.
Highly recommend iGo Stowaway Slim Bluetooth Keyboard.
