hot spot option - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Just received my note 3 from sprint with mj4, i then updated to NAB and on to NC5, but what i noticed is I dont have a hot spot option toggle in settings- connections, is this something new ?

Sprint has disabled it until you pay for the service. The flashable hot spot mod is deff the way to go. I don't even get LAN errors through Xbox live with 4G. Someone more helpful will chime in with a link soon.

ya knox is a jokethis is what you were looking for.http://kitkatkiller.eu/Files/SPRINT... FILES/MODS/NABD/NABD Deodexed HotspotMod.zip
but if your out the box you have a short road but a lot of reading to do . i suggest updating to latest stock if you havent tripped knox yet. .. then you can odin flash a recovery and install compatible rom. the nab hotspot mod is known to work with nc5 and d. good luck any questions please ask away.

yes yes i am. and you dont need to use cf auto root if you already tripped knox...
what i did was after updating to nc5D. i odined recovery...then flashed latest super user zip via recovery. upon booting it will say supersu detected knox do you wish to disable. hit yes it should reboot and upon rebooting your good to go. im running lean kernel with my setupof stock rooted nc5D. everything works. froze what i didnt want in titanium backup.

really depends on if you care about knox being flagged. if you do i dont think there is any option to root as of yet. i believe cf auto root trips knox. of you dont care you hae a world of options. keep in mind any recovery cwm philz or twrp will trip knox....as well as any custom kernels. so let me know what way you wanna go.
p.s. am i the only one noticing something wrong here with the quotation system?

Haha, fair enough. I figure it's always best to start with the easy questions, don't want to replace a motor when all you needed was an oil change, you know?
What recovery are you using? TWRP, or CWM, and have you tried flashing with another recovery other than the one your currently using?
I know it seems dumb, but sometimes some ROMs don't like to play nice with certain recoveries.

Want to remove SS recovery and root

Hey guys, I am trying to get recovery and root off of my phone so I can get the phone back into un-voided warrenty state. I know the safestrap apk. does not fully remove it itself, and that there is an alternative way by using adb. Which I have never used but have it downloaded. I am just asking for some guidance here so I can do this properly, thanks in advance!

[Q] Randomly lost root

I've had a new custom ROM for a few week and everything is working fine, but out of no where I seem to have lost my root access. Nothing else is wrong with the phone and the custom ROM is all I have changed on the phone. I've tried to reroot it with various methods to no success. Does anyone have any solutions?

If you have MDK build, you're one of the very lucky people who can run arbitrary custom ROMs and don't need to use Safestrap. Please avoid upgrading beyond that as it will limit what you can do.

It's not impossible but I do remember ChainFire saying its not going to be likely anytime soon nor does he care for making one.Which I can agree with his reasons. You can read more information on his international S5 Root thread. ina nut shell i wouldn't be surprised if there isn't a Knox reset as it has hardware related connections now i believe.
Who really cares about KNOX!!! If you do care, why not just leave your device alone. It would be nice if people who cared about tripping KNOX had a thread of their own. I'm just saying......

I really don't care myself about tripping knox.... I do think someone should make a thread with sticky just for it though. Personally, I use Tmo as this is the thread for it and pay the dumb extra money for insurance in case i blow up my phone.... I will just if @#$% hits the fan send it in for repair making up some stupid reason...
At least from what I am hearing we are not having a locked BL that I hear ATT users are getting.

Chainfire states on his thread the bootloader was locked we wouldn't have been able to gain root via Cf-Root. I have two T-Mobile S5 and both are rooted. So let's hope that is correct.
With root access I am still able to access my Private Mode as well, which some maybe having troubles with.
Enjoy and get this phone if you haven't got it, it is worth it!

Selective Focus
I was having a problem getting Selecting focus to work on the S5 I purchsed thru "pre-order". It just never recognized what I was trying to take a picture of - and so the feature never worked. Last night I decided to flash the Tar you posted of the stock rom to see if it would help.
I odined the taf - then rooted with ChainFires CF Autoroot - then added Phils CWS custom Recovery - then when I went to the camera and tried ot do some photos using "selective focus" it worked for the first time since I bought the phone. I don't know why selective focus didnt work when I first tried to use it - but I am grateful that I was able to get it working.
Thanks for getting the Stock Tar for us - It also gives me a little security in case i screw somethign up and need to return to stock - lol -
I'm going to go ahead and downlod the stock and rooted TAR tonight and see what happens..
Got your PM Mr. Impossible.
Anyone flashed this yet to test?? I'm about to flash the rooted test TAR... Worst case I still have my S4 to fall back on until something is revised but I'd like to not have to lol..

Aha. So if i'm rooted on NH5, with custom recovery, i can flash this stock tar to get back to unrooted NH5 with stock recovery ? The other stock tars would fail in Odin because they do not have the NH5 firmware, and Samsung made it so Odin will not flash previous firmwares if i've already flashed a newer firmware? Is that correct ?
