[Q] AT&T Visual Voicemail on ARHD - AT&T HTC One (M8)

Recent HTC phones include a special version of AT&T Visual voicemail. As a result it's no long possible to download and install the standard vvm app from the play store. I've installed ARHD and would like to figure out how to get AT&T visual voicemail on this particular rom.
I've tried extracting the visual voicemail apk from my stock nandroid, but can't get it to work. I've installed it but the app doesn't appear with my other apps.
I would very much appreciate any suggestions concerning a fix or workaround to this problem.

Its not going to work, different frameworks for euro than att...visual voicemail for att build is supposed to be specially built for it...

Would you be willing to share how you were able to do that?

Its not a simple flashable fix....can I ask why you flashed an international rom? Dont like bloatware(notlike anyone does)? Heard about carrieriq? Wanted international icons?....Check your p.m.'s.....

I flashed this rom for 2 reasons, I hate most of the bloatware/carrieriq and I loved mike's work from my m7 so I naturally wanted to continue using arhd on my m8. I'll check my pm's now.

Ok was just curious...this one I fixed is tailored to AT&T ,has signal icons for AT&T, no carrieriq only part thats bloatware imo as I dont use it is visual voicemail...lol..but it does work as it is supposed to.... So you let me know..lol

Uhmm I need this too please

[REQ] - T-Mobile VVM (Visual Voice Mail) APK

So, I flashed Eugene's latest JPM Froyo and while I backed up my "user apps", for whatever reason that didn't include TMO's VVM. Anyone have the T-Mobile Visual Voicemail APK? Usually it's available in the market.
However, on this rom it doesn't seem to be available there. I also didn't see it posted anywhere here on XDA and I'm not aware of any rom which I could pull it from.
Can someone post it?
Thanks in advance!

updated version?
It appears to be the latest. Eugene provided it. Thanks go to him! I'm also not showing an update in the market now like I was after having an earlier version from an old backup.
Yeah, thanks for posting it, it's not in the market after the new official MyTouch 3G 2.2 update, either!
T-Mobile Visual Voicemail seems to be totally taken off from market!
Hi
As it seems, After a sudden update yesterday, T-Mobile (USA) have taken Visual voicemail off of the Market entirely! I kinda became very dependent on it! But thanks to the Gentleman/Lady for posting it here!
Thanks
Man, thanks a lot!!! I was searching for this since my G2 doesn't come with it.

That link does not work on my G2. Is there anyone who had success with that link? I had that voicemail app on my 1st G2 I had sent back. Why would T-Mobile take ths app down???
Latest VVM apk
Here's the latest version of the TMO VVM application. If you have the original version installed, remove it first before installing this one or the install will fail.
Thanks...how do you install this?
I have the Visionary root app installed.
Thanks for any help!
@cbbyers: Thanks..totally new. Is this for G2?
Downloaded the above apk and it did NOT work on my g2.. installed app and started it and started it up and got message unable to authorize purchase.... my marketplace works fine... seems like this app has been DISABLED by tmobile?
Just curious, does this app do something bette than Google Voice?
Thanks looks great..

Not sure if this works on the G2, but it's the official updated version of VVM released by TMO a few weeks back which works with wifi enabled. I have the Mytouch 3g Slide and this version works fine. I was unable to locate it in the market and assumed that was due to running CM 6.1.
For those of us who are on FlexPay, I don't think T-Mobile allows us to change our voicemail provider; at least they didn't the last time I tried.
If it's not working, make sure you have your line provisioned by T-Mobile for Visual Voicemail (it's free). I had it on my myTouch3G 1.2 before and it worked immediately after download, when they updated it though it checked for the provisioning and would return an "unauthorized" error.
I just downloaded this one since the market one is AWOL again and it seems to be working fine on my G2.
Works fine on my G2. I installed tmo-vvm-1-2-19.apk version.

Here is how you install it.
1. Download the apk file (tmo-vvm-1-2-19.apk) and save it on your SD card.
2. From Android market, download and install App Installer
3. Launch App Installer and it will detect the apk file you have in your SD card
4. Select the apk file and it will install tmobile VVM on your G2 phone
Cannot download
(My post applies to the G2, should have probably posted under G2 in thread 819103 but noticed this only after the fact)
As far as I can tell the app is working (just did one quick test so far).
I was also on a support chat w/ TMO and here's the relevant info from that:
^ Karel F: There will be a update sent coming soon I do not have the effective date on this but it will be soon.
^ Karel F: We have to finish the test run to make sure the update works first then it will be pushed out to all of the devices.
Me: so is this an update to phone SW or the VVM app you're talking about?
^ Karel F: For both.
^ Karel F: This is a system update for all of the devices.
^ Karel F: This is to also fix some other problems that the device has as well.
Me: So in the meantime no TMO VVM?
^ Karel F: Yes I do apologize about that I did add it to the account so when the update comes to the device it will download automatically.
Voicemail notifications don't work for me. I need to do a manual sync form the app to get voicemails. Anyone else also having this issue?

This is the Verizon version, I'm looking for the Google version, is there one?
Thanks for posting the link. It's in the market but if you have a Verizon phone that comes with HTC sense you can't download the Verizon Visual Voicemail from the market because they assume you kept sense and have it integrated with your messages.
On that note, it would be rather nice for stock android to use that idea of integrating voicemails with messages. Although I guess this would have to be implemented differently between carriers so it's probably not a good idea.
I have been trying to figure out what I was doing wrong for weeks. I just got an Incredible 2 and had no clue I could not find Verizons Visual Voicemail cause its an HTC issue. I put CM7 on here and for the life of me could not find out what I was doing wrong. Thanks for the post.

AT&T Visual Voicemail for the i717 Note (GB and ICS)

For some reason, it looks like AT&T didn't include their official AT&T Visual Voicemail app with the Note's current build. I'm not sure why they've left it off our LTE device -- since the VVM is supposedly free on all AT&T LTE devices -- but they did... so, now what?
Gingerbread builds:
GSLEON3 posted the VVM .apk in the HTC Vivid forums -- be sure to give him some thanks!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1452330
ICS builds:
After searching high and low in the Skyrocket forums (Thank you edgex!!!), we also figured out a way to make VVM work on our ICS builds as well. Info posted by jjc5891 here:

Questions:
1) I upgraded from an iPhone 3GS which had built-in (iOS) VVM; so, I don't remember ever setting up any sort of "normal" voicemail -- which I understand is one of the steps in setting up the VVM apk. What steps will I need to take to get the VVM to work properly on my rooted Note after I install it through ES Explorer?
2) Can anyone verify that this APK actually works on the AT&T Note?
Thanks ahead of time!

It works fine. Using it now...
okay here is my newb question, how do i install an individual app like this?
Is there a way to have a popup alert for voicemail? I am using Da_G's kernel 0.1 and TPC Note v1 ROM. The Visual Voicemail works, but there is no widget for it. I like the red circle popups with the numbers inside notifying you. On my Sprint Epic Touch the visual voicemail had that.
If you want visual voicemail, just use Google Voice. You get a nice discrete phone number, a better audio voicemail system, visual voicemail system, and multiple type of notifications.
The link posted above (first post) works for me. I now have visual voice mail icon but if I go to phone, click on the voice mail button, it still dials voice mail box.

Ok, I just did all this and it works great as long as you didnt use AT&T Messages program first (if you did they will need to remove your VM and or data pack and re-add). So here are the steps.
1. Download and install ES File Explorer if you dont already have it.
2. Download the file they posted for the Visual Voicemail and install it under the downloads with your ES File Explorer. It should work right away unless as I said that you started using the AT&T Messages app. They will have to remove that because it uses the old school voicemail to work. Good Luck!
Turned off my wifi and installed no problem. Went through the quick setup with AT&T VM and it's up and running. I can see this as a very useful app.
Google voice is definitely the way to go. Plus it has a slew of other wonderful features

I have this issue, too. Actually I think vvm has to be on mobile data to update, an I suspect juice defender disabling mobile data on wifi may be my issue.

Yes I have this from above installed and it works awesome.
It does NOT come with GNOTE. Couldn't tell you why?
and yes...it is quite an awesome app. prob one of the best bone apps AT&T has thrown us..
well back in the day should say. delivers voicemail with full id and wav file playback instantly...
one touch. one touch. nice gui...etc....
fyi - dont confuse this with Visuals Messages.
They are two completely seperate apps. Visual Messages is not very good.
as mentioned above. it does suck.
Visual Voice Mail is what you want!
check it out if you have not yet done so.
its worth looking at.
The one that comes preloaded is Messages...uninstall prior to installing the above.
Same here... works fine for me on my stock AT&T Note. Really nice actually to have.
Tried on my international note but could not get beyond the password screen.
@Taptalk-GalaxyNote
I think it might be because AT&T has only provisioned LTE phones with the vvm sock? Just a guess...

AT&T Visual Voicemail Apk

Here is the AT&T visual voicemail app.. When searching th play store, it says this is not compatible. It said that with the original HOX also, but works absolutley perfect. No need for that horrible ATT Messages app. This works much much better. Make sure "unknown sources" in security is checked. Copy to SD card and browse with file explorer and install. Of course you can use ADB to push it also. My favorite must have program on my PC for working with files and apps from the phone is android commander. If you dont have it, get it. . www.androidcommander.com Again If you dont have it, it is a 100% must have, get it. Here is the voicemail app, or just click below.
Edit: For some people you must have Visual Voice Mail provisions on your account. If this doesn't work, you have to call ATT and tell them to activate visual voicemail. Say you just installed it and its not working. No need to say anything about how you got it, that doesnt matter. Just say play store. They have no way of knowing that it shows not compatible in play store. It took me a couple of calls to get it added but they did eventually get it. if anyone has any problems, Here is another thread talking about this app but for the OG HOX.
Worked great, thank you!

I installed the AT&T visual voicemail app on my stock ROM and it worked fine.
I then installed the Elegancia ROM and now can't seem to get visual voicemail to work at all. It just hangs at the password screen. I've tried resetting my password, re-installing the app, re-installing the AT&T address book app and syncml apks (the AT&T website says visual VM app won't work without this) and I also called AT&T to make sure visual voicemail was active on my account.
Any ideas how I can get this working again?
Thanks in advance.

No, I am still having issues. I was on the phone with AT&T and they tried a bunch of stuff. It was working fine until I installed the ROM. I think it may be due to the APN changes that were made to enable native WiFi tethering but I'm not sure.
Either way, I decided to just switch my voicemail to google voice instead. I think it'll be better in the long run. Apparently with AOSP/CM ROMs, voicemails from google voice can be integrated into the stock dialer - like on an iPhone.
Thanks for providing the apk. Is it still required to manually install it? I was able to install it from the Market and I'm currently on the Elegancia ROM, so not even stock ROM. AT&T also claims it's supported on our devices:
http://www.att.com/esupport/article.jsp?sid=KB414957#fbid=17ybI57IF1g
However, I had to call to have them activate VVM on my account.
Any way to make this work on Straight Talk? I know the iPhone's get vvm to work on ST. I installed it but the app would not setup or get the details it needs after I dialed the voicemail number.

[Q] Sprint visual voicemail for JB?

Anybody got Sprint Visual Voicemail working on a JB ROM for the EVO 3D? I'm running dastin's CM10 GANGNAM and that's the one thing I haven't been able to get working. I've tried a bunch of different APK's, different flashable zips, and none of them pull my new voicemails.
I never could, so I switched my voicemail to Google Voice Lite. It works on any rom and comes with visual voicemail free. I just restore my Google Voice backup when I flash a Rom and I'm good to go.

I use Google Voice, but there's a link to one posted in the FAQ for mazda's AOKP that presumably works with that ROM. You could try that.

I'm having the same problem, and I've scoured the internet for a possible solution to no avail.
I'm currently using the Jan 13th release of CM10 Gangnam Style, and this version of VVM, on Sprint.
When I launch VVM for the first time, I get "Error V30: Voice message will be delivered when data service becomes available." and something about voicemail-to-text (error T30 I believe). I will get texts from 9016 indicating I have voicemail messages, but none of the messages download to the phone or show up in VVM.
I've tried sending a voicemail to [email protected], after which the phone tells me "There are 2 messages pending delivery". It never delivers any incoming voicemails, such as the test ones I sent myself on another phone.
I have Handcent installed, which has been reported to cause problems, but it is not set as the default SMS app ("disable" under Application Settings)
I've been trying to figure this out for a few days now, and I can't. This ROM is great, I love it... lack of working Visual Voicemail is not a huge deal, but I miss it and would like to see it working.
Some links I've been through trying to figure this out:

http://forums.miui.us/showthread.php?16368-Who-still-uses-sprint-visual-voicemail (I'm not sure what MIUI is, but another thread about VVM)
Nothing I've found has fixed the issue. Anyone have any ideas? The more I think about this the more it bugs me.
I've been trying to get vvm working on the 01232013 VM version of CM10.1 "WILD FOR THE NIGHT" ROM. None of the above "fixes" seem to help. Any ideas?
Dang! Been wanting to try CM 10, I field a lot of calls and Sprint vvm is a must for me and didn't like G voice. Oh well....

I found this and seems to be working pretty good so far. I'm running Mazda's slim Bean 4.1.2. I flashed it and it even provisioned it self. I just had to send myself a voicemail from my phone and it synced up all my voice mails. Only thing is that it still shows the text message from android.
