This Rom is Multiboot-Aware

Very Improve. Much Xposed.
App Settings. Themes. Wow
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Introduction
Welcome to Custom Atomic GB
The aim of this thread is to enhance the older ROM of Atomic GB and improve
it with new tweaks, settings and enhancements to provide an ultimate stock
themed experience.
Warning : This is a one off release until I get hold
of my Nexus 5 back from Repair,
but any bugs or somewhat major problems
I will fix if necessary.
For right now this is B2 / Beta 2 or simply pre release, there are still more things I need to
amend add and change.
This is the real thing.
But the next thing will be even more real.
It is highly recommended you use Extreme Kernel :good:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Recommendations
1. If you use Extreme kernel use the Market Fix app provided if you have any play store Issues.
2. After first boot allow the device to be on for about 5 minutes then reboot (this is so init.d scripts can do their jobs).
3. Upon boot go to Settings>Applications>Running Services and Force Stop/Kill everything apart from settings and keyboard,
this is to remove the unnecessary background processes and is safe as the killed processes.
are cached and will resume when necessary i.e This will not kill your lockscreen, neither will it stop its notifications from functioning. (don't do it with an Task Killer)

Yeah I thought that would be the case, because original binaries (from ROM) were in the zip and these had issues :/
I have universal binary for next release, I tested it aswell.
For now I'm reinstalling windows.
Sent from my R800i

Yes, now it is working :good:

I might release B2 today if windows decides to install quicker because I'm reinstalling OS.
Edit: if anyone has issues with short battery life then it is useful to say that this Rom Is constantly seeding to dev/urandom.
To stop this you can remove the init.d script which begins with 08, named AggressiveEntropy.

Actually forget about it, I found a new compression method which maybe could combine with one I'm currently using, I dunno, it will take long to optimize but I might cut another 12-15mb without removing anything again.
Edit : Cancelling it - compression goes well and apps are smaller but RAM usage is quite bad after this.
+ODEXED to save space in /data
Edit 2 : Have to rebuild next update due to many issues I'm having such as no lockscreen and voice recorder FC. (as well as mysterious lag and lack of RAM.)

Test build for Atomic GB 7.1 B2 released (may not have full changes from changelog). Check the folders in downloads.
Market fix is for Extremekernel users (recommended).
Report any abnormalities/bugs please.
Edit : Haven't tested with TWRP yet due that I just fixed an urgent error (had a SU binary error which I posted in Q&A section, fixed by changing updater-binary).
Someone please report with TWRP.
Edit 2 : Seems like no lockscreen - possibly an ODEX issue since I reoptimized apps after ODEXing.
Edit 3 : Fixed all the minor bugs occuring, ROM is probably STABLE now - will upload fixed version soon.

Releasing the next build probably now unless I find any bugs - been lightly tested and should work fine.
Recommended Kernel (Extreme Kernel r3 (480p)
Market fix included if you have problems with Extreme Kernel (it has a small cache size and refuses to download big apps from play store).

Edit : Updated and Dogefied thread.

That's an update-script error.
The thing I did before uploading was changing the update-script, but didn't test it since it was the only thing and the ui-print or simply text you get in recovery was the only difference.
I must've forgot a comma or made a line too long or something of this sort.
I'm gonna check tomorrow after I get back from school but you can just use the old update-script, sorry for that.
I guess I need to wait more, I tend to release before fully testing.
Sent from my R800i

Sorry for the inconvenience. Since I have a version on my phone before I changed the last thing (the updater script) where I changed text I am uploading now.
Mediafire is already uploaded.
Sorry for any problems and Status 6s.
Google drive upload tomorrow

Yeah that's intended until I replace it.
I didn't have time to edit my Settings.apk I ported from my old Gin2JB extended.
The case is that all the icons in settings and the actual app icon itself is much smaller than it should be as I took them from a LDPI device back when editing the settings couple of months ago. The launcher simply tries to resize the icon so it would be the correct size for its grid.
I never intended to fix it as what I originally aimed for was a "Like Jellybean" (this is because I didn't know how to amend sizes of buttons/bars in the main screen) experience but @vokal1992 was making his own settings mod (I didn't know about that) and released it in Gin2JellyBean official which was basically going to do exactly for what I intended so I scrapped this app back in that day I was developing it.
But now I brought it back as I wanted to keep a close to stock experience for AtoMic GB to keep it's purpose still there.
This is one of the things I intend to edit next but for now I'll be very busy this week (school, tests, sport e.t.c) so it's something I will only have time to do at the weekend.
I will aim though to finish this upgraded ROM even if I receive my Nexus back at any point of the week.

It's just a "one off update" since original AtoMic GB became quite dated. I'll be returning to my N5 soon but will make sure to finish the rom.

Q & A
Q: Where are all the addons?
A: In AppMan check your app drawer for the Superman-droid icon. That's AppMan!
Q: Can I install xLOUD?
A: Yes! But it is proven to damage the speaker, so we have also included DSP manager so you can increase the volume. ALWAYS BE CAREFUL when stressing your hardware's limits! We are not to be held responsible for any damages to the fragile speaker on your phone.
Q: Can I use this or that kernel for unlock or locked bootloader?
ALL kernels built for stock ROMs WILL WORK on this rom. We have tested all of them and we recommend ThKernel 029e, which you can find as an addon in AppMan.
WARNING: If you are using a Bypass Kernel it will be removed when the ROM is installed and you will just need to reflash it after flashing the ROM.
If you are using a Replacement Kernel(Unlocked Bootloader) then there will be no effect.
Q: Can I use this or that theme?
A: Short answer, no. Unless of course it is built of our framework. We have made MASSIVE mods to the framework so most themes will disable most, if not all, options in the Tweaks app.
Q: I am getting a FC on this or that, can you help me!
A: NO. We can't help you. Because what you just said means nothing to us.
We want to help you SO much, but in order to do that you need to report the bug properly.
We took care of that too, see here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1292625
Q:OMG YOU STOLE MY WORK! YOU [email protected]#$!% etc etc etc
A: We kindly ask you that if you have an issue with any of the inclusions in the ROM to either PM me or iridaki so we can sort it out politely There is no need to flame in the thread. Also if we have forgotten credits, please let us know and we will add them immediately.
Q: This rom is stupid, I hope you fail, "that" ROM is better!
A: That's cool, use "that" ROM. There is absolutely no need to report your disgust unless of course you have constructive criticsm. Personal Preference isn't a bug or an issue
We encourage EVERYONE to use the ROM they feel is best for them

- Added more build.prop tweaks
- Cleaned install-recovery.sh for the users that will flash ThJap kernel
NOTE: Install this update ONLY if you run stock SE kernel
(doesn't matter if you run any other kernel for locked bootloaders,
the state of your bootloader (locked/unlocked) also doesn't matter)
or BootManager Stock Kernel.
This update is highly recommended because it will enhance user experience vastly.
However, it is still optional.
Next updates will be kernel-independent so you can skip this.
But we can guarantee that you will regret it!
First boot might take a bit longer than usual, because the cache and dalvik cache will be wiped during flashing.
Also, for the first few minutes after boot, phone might be a little laggy, as caches are being rebuilt.
It should catch up very quickly though!
Undervolt is not included, for the sake of compatibility with all devices.
Each device has unique tolerance in overclock/undervolt, so you have to experiment yourself.
For overclock, use SetCPU or No-frills CPU or CPU Master, etc.
For undervolt, open /system/etc/init.d/13vdd_levels and edit the values as you wish.

First of all, THANKS to everybody for their support in this attempt!
25/8/2011: I am updating this post with the results I got from testing all the custom kernels available, up to today.
It was an amazing ride and our developers have really produced great enhancements for our phones!
Also, let me note one more time, T.E.A.M ROM is stock ROM, so this review applies to any stock and stock based ROM (as long as there are no tweaks conflicting with the boot.img).
First of all, the apps I used to measure the kernels' features performance
are: CPUSpy and NoFrills CPU Control (was a fan of SetcPU, but Nofrills is simpler and somehow I got over my Profiles obsession ).
1. [KERNEL] zKernel | 2.6.29 | for 2.3.3 stock ROM | 19/08/2011
This is an "old-time classic"! U MAD???
Features:
- latest SE sources
- FPS cap removed
- overclocked
- added extra frequencies
- in-call volume increased
- TUN/TAP support (VPN)
- CIFS support
- debugging disabled for improved performance
- enabled ThumbEE CPU extension
Click to collapse
Performance and speed with the >998 frequencies are great,
but in my case the phone got too hot above 998 MHz.
In-call volume is increased and there's no distortion, which is very very nice!
There's no undervolt, so nothing to report there.
Overall, it's very stable, faced no problems while using it,
but wanted to try undervolt, so moved on to other kernels.
Of course, I know my device actually can handle undervolt, so if you
had bad experiences with undervolting before, this is definitely the kernel for you.
2. 2.3 Th_kernel_023.2
The latest kernel from 24/8 seems to pack some neat features,
but unfortunately got stuck at boot logo when I installed it,
so no review here. I am sure ThJap will sort it out soon enough!
3. [KERNEL][X10] DooMKernel - "Power to The People" [Rel:v03d][Dt:26/08][FW3.0.1.G.0.75]
This is my personal favorite. The latest version, 03d, runs very very stable
on my phone.
The VDD controls are a great way to discover and use the best undervolting settings for your device!
I made a startup script and set the voltages to:
128000 Hz - 875 V
192000 Hz - 900 V
245760 Hz - 925 V
384000 Hz - 950 V
460800 Hz - 975 V
576000 Hz - 1000 V
652800 Hz - 1050 V
768000 Hz - 1100 V
844800 Hz - 1150 V
921600 Hz - 1200 V
998400 Hz - 1250 V
I use minmax governor and you can see what I personally feel about other governors here.
With the latest update, ondemand and interactive seem to be fixed and lag has been eliminated,
but I am still testing.
All in all, what's important for you to know is that all the custom kernels work in this ROM!
You just need to flash the zip and then wipe cache and dalvik cache in xRecovery before rebooting.
As simple as that!
Don't be afraid to try, don't forget that you are as good as your last backup
and come here to report your experience with custom kernels!

In the T.E.A.M spirit, I will be updating this post with additions for the ROM from members!

- Smaller in size ZIPs for download (as suggested by riginal)
*Most probably the upcoming releases will be updates and not Full ROMs anyway,
but keeping the download sizes at minimum will be a priority
- Colored Icons in the Statusbar for When-Connected-To-Google (as suggested by slashfoo) DONE
- Battery Percentage Mod with working Reboot options (as suggested by Slothagus)
- AppWidgetPicker implementation (as suggested by slashfoo)
- Host the files for this rom on github
pvyParts: Sorry guys i will get on it. as i have to decompile everything and organise it a bit beter
- Add a 6th Icon on notification toggles for data on/off
pvyParts: working on the data enable/disable taking more time than i like
- Be able to configure notification toggles
pvyParts: not sure if thsi is "easy to implement" but will look into it soon.
- Change the "POWER" key to "ENDCALL"
Done!
- Add "Take screenshot" to power menu (instead of xrecovery which would be a LOT less used).
pvyParts: hehe more framework mods, gotta love it. i will see if i can get it to work.

Features/Highlights:
MIUI4 v2.8.10 (ported from MIUI UK's Arc S ROM) based on CM9-FXP133
Stable, Fast, Clean and Light with no bundled nonsense - design goal of a fast and lite ROM
Volume+ Mod (Hold volume to skip music tracks while screen is off)
New Adreno Drivers, KSM-enabled and many other reliable performance enhancements
Everything works (nearly, important stuff works). See the "Status" section below.
See the changelog for extended details on changes compared to stock MIUI.
When the ROM gets to a mature state, I will be releasing my kitchen just like I did for CosmicUI (MIUI on CM7 for X10) in the spirit of open-development

Status:
Fully working (bug reports accepted if you find issues):
Wifi and Wifi Hotspot
Data and Calls
SMS and MMS
MIUI Browser
Camera (from CM9)
Gamepad/Touchpads (Partial - working in most good games and emu's - same as CM9)
Rotation (Auto and on gamepad slide)
LBE Guard
All other MIUI apps (including Gallery and Music)
YouTube HD Playback
USB Storage
Location, Compass and GPS
Google Maps (but buggy Positioning/Compass, OK in other Map software)
Everything else? Report it if something is missing here.
Partially working or not yet working, currently in progress:
CDMA Network/Patch (R800x)
Broken (bug reports NOT accepted; but patches, help and dev. discussion on possible leads/fixes WELCOME):
Proximity sensor (CM9 issue)
Automatic Brightness (CM9 issue) (Disable it manually)
MTP (Media-mode USB) (MIUI issue)
Google Maps compass/orientation (Unknown issue :crying
Other/minor issues (low priority) already known are in post #2. Check there too before reporting any issues.
Download and Installation:
(1) Flash any CM9-based kernel with fastboot.
(2) Download Turbo UI v0.61 flashable ZIP and copy to sdCard
(3) Boot into CWM-Recovery 6; Format Data, Format Cache, install the update ZIP, reboot.
(4) Let the ROM settle for a bit, it will be laggy and the Media scanning will take a while to "kick in" - this seems to be an MIUI bug. Wait a few minutes, keep checking Gallery and Music for it to start filling up. Then reboot again. Keyboard does not work until you reboot once.
(5) If you want to set custom tones from SDCard, I suggest ES File Explorer for browsing to the Ogg/Mp3 manually (I've tested it and it works, many other File Explorers don't).
If you have issues such as bootloops, frozen kernel logo, wifi issues, anything not reported here - please try to flash latest stock firmware in flashtool and start from step (1) again! This will fully wipe the phone and start off with a clean slate, it CAN and DOES fix random issues after flashing a lot of ROM's and kernels! For R800i, R800a, R800at (GSM) - Flash Firmware 4.0.2.A.0.62 with latest Flashtool.
CDMA TESTING
(1) Ensure you have the CDMA baseband for CM9 - R800x_4.0.2.E.57_Verizon.ftf
(2) Install the ROM as normal (steps above), then install the Turbo UI CDMA Patch Alpha 1
(3) It is currently in testing stages, please logcat any FC's or if something doesn't work (full logcats please). Do not use it yet if you are unwilling to deal with it not working and can't send logcats!
CDMA Work in progress I have enough logcats until next patch. R800x users - do not use this ROM yet.

On the lockscreen, double-tap the padlock icon to toggle the music controls on or off
By default, MIUI will group all app notifications together. If you want the classic behavior back, check the option in Settings > Status bar Settings > Customize status bar notification > disable "Hide notification"
Known Issues / Bugs
General
Settings > About Phone has some strange graphical glitches and is missing baseband info Fixed in v0.2 Hotfix 1
Settings > About Phone > Status causes FC Fixed in v0.2 Hotfix 1
Some minor color issues with the new dark theme. Nothing too serious. Work-in-progress.
Phone/Contacts
Pressing "Set up my profile" in Contacts results in an FC. Don't click it Fixed in v0.60
Browser (Web)
Searching from the address bar doesn't work (must visit google.com manually) Fixed in v0.31 (MIUI Browser working yay)
Some UI strings are wrong, such as 'Remember Username/Password' when logging in (I think that's what it is). Just press back twice to get away from that if it scares you. I use Dolphin HD browser myself so I couldn't be bothered trying to fix it.
Media (Audio/Video)
Default SMS tone is "silent" - MIUI bug. Remember to change it manually on a fresh install. Fixed since v0.60
Some strange pops and glitches when AudioFocus is dropped (sound stops playing), not sure how to fix that one. Fixed in v0.31.
Can't set custom tones from SDCard - known MIUI issue. Set with ES File Explorer (select "Others" when choosing the tone > ES File Explorer > browse to the file). Alternatively, push the ogg/mp3 file to /system/media/audio/whatever/
Ringtone/Notification Packs
All non-default MIUI tones were ripped in order to get the maximum free space for /system to give to /data. In order to use these, you must extract to your SDCard. MIUI still has a bug that doesn't show custom tones on SDCard, the way I do it is to install ES File Explorer then when changing sounds select "Other > ES File Explorer" and manually browse for the audio file you want. I have only tested this method as working, other File Explorer apps might not assign the file properly (and it goes quiet).
- Missing MIUI ringtones/notifications - Mediafire
Default ringtones have been restored in v0.50. Remember - if you want to set custom tones from SDCard, use ES File Explorer!
First Comment wuhoooo going to be using this as my Daily Driver Now
bravo man
thanks for dis rom
No problem, I missed MIUI based on CM so I could mod it with more CM features, so I spent many days straight getting it going....
But I still need people to test if phone call works! As soon as it does I can work on CDMA patch so more users can test.
Testing now
UPDATE 1: Just installed, (Used the FXP RC 2 kernel, figured it should work like the one provided by you) it booted fine and is sooo smooth, but one problem, I couldn't get signal and settings.apk crashed when trying to opening mobile networks, trying with your kernel now...
UPDATE 2: Exactly the same with your kernel, no signal and crashing when opening settings.apk

Damn it, I knew it was too good to be true to work straight away lol.... OK I'm working on it non-stop (apart from sleep) there'll be a patch soon.
EDIT: OK I found it, my hack to fix the crash due to disabled proxy sensor in CM9 kernel is what is causing phone app to crash. I need to find a better way to do this hack. Hotfix soon.

Hotfix for v0.2 is up, tested it by calling my phone and it works Just install over the top of v0.2. You know it sucks, dunno if it's an MIUI thing but when I call it, the phone I ring from rings for a second and a half before the screen even appears on the Play. It also happened on the X10, maybe it's an MIUI thing or this ROM just needs more work.
FYI, I had to update my kitchen. APKTool 1.4.3 is broken for apps from this ROM so I compile Phone.apk with baksmali 1.3.3, but baksmali 1.3.3 is broken for framework jar's so I have to use APKTool 1.4.3.

Does the same thing on sony based roms when I tried to mess with them. Def want to test this when I can.
I tried flashing it but I'm just hanging up on the kernel splash screen. Could it be since I'm on an r800at? CM9 RC2 works fine on my phone. I wiped data/cache, not sure what's going on.

It might be. I think the R800at is the same as the R800a, and I run an R800a (was Telstra Australia branded, their 3G bands are different). All I can suggest is to move the Phone.apk from the hotfix into the original v0.2 ZIP and start from scratch.... but maybe it is an R800at issue in which case I'll need a logcat. EDIT: If you can't even get to logcat then it's a kernel issue.
Fixing compass (orientation) is really annoying me, it seems to work fine in MIUI Compass and GPS Status but does all retarded crap in Google Maps.

I am not sure, but I would like to. Is there a patch or way to get ICS (not CM9) on R800x? Like, can you get the ICS Beta on the R800x working? If so, please link me to the information!
thanks man!!
this is going to be my daily driver too.
problem though, kernel 720 shows as blocked by mediafire.

About the 720p kernel... Probably is blocked for the name... if you put something like 720p, then the auto filter can get it thinking it's a movie or something

Nope. Doom did make an ICS kernel for CDMA devices, but with the ICS beta, CDMA users weren't able to get a data connection.

Yes, MIUI has gapps already Flashing gapps would actually destroy the ROM since MIUI uses their own special modified ones to mesh with the framework. Also, my mini gapps is for JB/CM10 - this is ICS

Yeah I just did a search Bummer.
Well this ROM was easy to make and will be very easy to update, so I will continue to work on CM10 version. Still, CM10 MIUI is much slower though, and from what I know CDMA isn't working on CM10 yet Sad that pax is retired.
EDIT: If I get really bored, I could try getting CM9 CDMA RIL drivers working on it. But don't get your hopes up, that is something very very far fetched.

All I've got on my R800x is some hodgepodge of AOKP with an FXP CM9 kernel.

Not really cm9 is working fine if I flash the conversion script from atarii+ keiranftw here's a mirror I made. someone posted this to fix cdma on markpython's rom but IMO it just seems like a partial fix as you either have internet and no sms or vice versa. I tried sending a text to myself and it wouldn't send until a reboot. I was going to try and modify the semcphone.apk and include cdma smali I found in an older rom from sony made to work with cdma from here. But that may be too old to be using for a fix, that and smali is really f**king annoying.

You are right, I logged-out of MF and it says blocked. Asses. I renamed the file as per farenheith's suggestion, it seems to work now. Link updated. Yes, strange that 480p is not blocked... guess they only want to block high-quality movie pirates

Interesting, thanks for the info. From what I know though with MIUI, modifying the phone app is not required - only replacing the RIL libs and RIL smali files in telephony framework. But that might only have been because I/they were working on Galaxy Nexus MIUI port at the time, which has both GSM and CDMA versions (the Phone.apk might have been ambiguous).
See my last reply in Turbo MIUI thread. I'll research all of this.

Completely froze? Did it reboot or did you have to pull battery?
Do you have a license for Chainfire 3D? Maybe try reduce texture resolution. I also read that there is apparently a configuration file you can edit, maybe in /data/data/com.rockstar.gta3 (or whatever) to lower detail.
EDIT: Screw it, I'll just buy GTA3. Lol.
Don't do that xD
It's a know problem . GTA is crap on ICS.
Also, I have a big problem to deal with. I need a token bank app, that is "unbackupable". The only method I found is restoring the full data partition... I did a minimal data to try to port between ROMs, but I can't restore this data on this one .
I just don't know what this app is checking
Edit: and yes, completely frozen. I pulled out the battery xD
Yea aokp is the same as cm9 performance wise. I like the power saver turning off my data for me, didn't think it would work but I haven't had issues with it yet. I hope the framework doesn't fight cdma I like the through themeing and xloud. Espiscally xloud as it seems I either have to pick a rom with working data or xloud.

Also - The camera app can sometimes not connect to the camera. This is because the SystemUI (Notification Bar) has taken control of it for use with the 'Flashlight' function. If you load the Camera a few times it will eventually work.

Unlocked Bootloaders
Perform a Nandroid backup of your current ROM
Install firmware 4.0.2.A.0.58 Enhanced from the downloads section below. (Only required if you don't already have it installed - This is used to get the right baseband and 420mb DATA partition.)
Install DoomLord's V14 DoomKernel (See download section below) - the LuPuS GB Kernel is also compatible, and in some cases better than the DoomKernel.
Perform factory reset (wipe Data/Cache) - If you had a GB ROM installed previous, you MIGHT not have to do this. However if the ROM isn't working right after install, it is recommended you perform a reinstall & factory reset.
Format System (Mounts & Storage in ClockWorkMod)
Flash ROM from the downloads section below
Install DoomKernel's V14 Wifi Modules (Link in downloads section)
After initial boot, perform an additional reboot to ensure everything is settled

Sorry, forgot to mention - It's 2.3.7
It's original base is the NXT LE ROM which is also 2.3.7
This was chosen as Gingerbread is still the best ROM in terms of performance when it comes to gaming.
With an OC of 1.6Ghz I am able to run Vice City on almost full graphics with only a slight bit of slowdown in specific places.
FPSE runs perfectly, not tested many games using the OpenGL plugin however Klona and one or two others do work at 55 - 60fps. Using the normal plugin however, all games run fully at 60fps.
Antutu benchmark is 6130 @ 1.6Ghz. (Haven't tested this in a while)
Unfortunately ICS and JB scores are usually higher, specifically in the graphics department. It's a shame that GB hasn't received an update recently in terms of graphics libs. - I tried quite a few different ones to get more performance, inclusive of those from other phones... Most of them either slowed it right down or simply stopped it from booting! I'll keep looking though...

that s why i moved from GB to ICS or JB..you see big difference in graphics..watching videos in hi resolution its almost perfect..most of it with 2000/2500 kb in video..smooth and clean..and the roms are faster with many tweaks..anyway good work man.:good:
The problem is however, that the tweaks and improvements only look good on paper in terms of gaming...
For some reason, even if ICS and JB do score higher, GB ends up performing better in the real world.
...If only we could port the drivers.... But that's just not possible
Oh wow! Nice. Going to download and install when I get home from work!

Also would you recommend using DoomKernel instead of Lupus? I notice you've linked Doom's one, but would there be any difference at all?

It's a GB ROM, so you're gonna need a GB Kernel.
As far as i knew, Lupus doesn't have a GB one does he?
If there is one though, I can't imagine there would be any problems with using it... By all means give it a shot and let us know how it goes.
I chose DoomKernel as he has set a GPU Overclock as part of the Kernel towards the end of its development... So to make up for the old drivers, it tends to fill the gap between ICS and GB in terms of Graphics.

1. There is a Lupus kernel for GB (Lupus-GB V6)
2. So you're using DoomKernel v13? v14 has disabled GPU Overclock.
Anyway I am not asking a question I'm answering an answer.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Hmm... I should've looked into that a bit more then... Thanks for clearing that up!
I'll try out different Kernels at some point and find out which is best.
I was considering upping the clock to 1.3Ghz in a v0.2 (It is currently clocked by default to 1.2Ghz) But that could cause problems for some users, especially if I start recommending the use of DoomKernel v13 instead of v14... That is, assuming the GPU clock wasn't removed for stability issues or something.
Something to add to my to-do list.
Edit: Looks like 1.3Ghz is where the default voltages within the DoomKernel increase to ensure stability... 1.2Ghz stays at the default voltage of 1200mv whereas at 1.3Ghz this increases to 1250mv. It wouldn't be fair to have to have voltages set by default so I think I'll give the clock increase a miss. - It's not like users can't easily set their own clock speeds anyway.
I've had installed for a few hours now, and i've been playing around with it. After the first boot up, the keyboard didn't want to come up, but after second boot, everything was peachy. Everything that needs to work, works just great. Lots of space, so that's a win. Very fast too. Haven't overclocked it yet, but the settings you have as default run everything just great.
All in all so far, you've done a great job buddy. I've installed DoomKernal V.14. I will test with Lupus later on tonight. Keep up the great work bro. This is in my opinion the best GB rom i've used so far.

Thanks, I really appreciate it!
I experienced the keyboard issue too, the first time I installed the ROM. So I added the 'Reboot' bit to the installation instructions in case it was an ongoing issue.
That being said, with my current v0.2 build, it appears to be working right off the bat. However I've no idea as to how/why as I haven't done anything specific to the keyboard to make it do so!
I'll hopefully be releasing the v0.2 update before the end of the week - This will be a full ZIP instead of a patch, however you'll be able to simply flash it on top of v0.1 without having to format/factory reset.
OH sweet! Already an update coming. Looking forward to it, though really, I don't know what else you can really tweak? It's running really damn good as is right now. The only thing I do miss about the ICS ROMS from Gingerbread is the notification panel settings when you do the swipe down. The swipe down panel from Xpress ROM is just sweet. I'm guessing though that the GingerBread framework wouldn't be able to do that. It's sad that ICS doesn't really want to play well with the Xplay. But as long as we got guys like you that bring awesome GB ROMS this little device isn't going to die off any time soon.
Edit: Just a quick question. I want to put this on my other Xperia Play that has a locked bootloader? Is this possible? Or is this for only unlocked bootloaders? And yes... I have two plays, with a 3rd on it's way... >_> I really like this device, even if I use my S3 as my daily driver. >__<

You can add similar Notification panels to the one you're suggesting in GingerBread, but the problem is their excessive RAM usage... I'll see what I can find though, and if something does crop up that is good as doesn't take up too much RAM I'll replace it.
In regards to updates, there's quite a few things that can still be done to get things a little faster... I'm currently looking into the Linaro toolchain, I had originally thought it was ICS and JB only but it looks like the Linaro optimisations can be applied to GB ROMs as well. This is something that would take a while to sort out though, so I wouldn't expect it anytime soon. Especially not in the v0.2.
I've emailed Quallcomm/looked into trying to get updated versions of the GB libs for the Adreno 205... As the ICS/JB ones are much more optimised than the ones we have. Doubt I'll get anywhere with that though, but there's no harm in trying.
Other than that I intend to add a few more standard apps to /System such as the Gmail app and so on so save more space for /Data, and also the Play Launcher.
My task for this evening however is to compare the performance between the V14/V13 and LuPuS kernels, to see which is best on the ROM. At the end of the day it will all come down to personal preference, however if Quallcomm decide to do nothing in regards to the GB libs then I guess I'll go for the V13 Kernel, as it'll be the last resort for getting improved graphics performance from the Play.
Edit: In regards to the Locked Bootloader... I've only got the one Play which is unlocked - so I am unable to test. As far as I know though, it should work on a Locked Bootloader - I can't see why not!
Re: [ROM][GB] AuroraPlay v0.1 [ICS Themed/Low RAM Usage]
Can I just say, wedgess' LuPuS kernel is so much better than DooMLoRD's in my opinion, it has google's new snappy compression

I wouldnt mind emailing Qualcomm and inquiring about this as well. I mean the Adreno 205 is 2 years olf (if not older) and I dont see a reason why they would at least be willing to release the sources for it......... because truthfully it would be one of the best news for our phone... updated graphics libs for your PLAYs.
What email address did you use? I am thinking what if we got as many Xperia PLAY users to email Qualcomm and request either updated libs or sources to let the devs look into it.
Edit - Made a thread in General section.... would so love to see this happen... I gave all credit to the idea to you Spizzy01, your idea, your credit. Hope you dont mind I made a thread - request for users to band together and assist in getting Qualcomms attention... hopefully.

My initial email to them was simply done using the 'Contact Us' at the bottom of their development site.
Since then I've opened a topic on their Graphics forums too, but I'm yet to get a reply. See here
And nope, that's no problem at all. I agree that we should try any available method in order to get an update. I guess we can only wait and see. For now, I'm going to see if I can try some different combinations of new/old drivers to see if it makes a positive impact on performance.

Just a tip, I have looked into this before, and I dont remember which phone it was that was on GB but it got updated GPU libs... and it was running the Adreno 205 processor. I'll see if I can find the thread for it here on XDA and post it below.

Bugs
NFC not working in the A.1.100 FW Update [Somebody please help me solve the bug. Not able to fix it]
FAQ's
How do I flash this ROM?
Reccommended that you flash stock ICS
Flash Munjeni's JB. Let it boot
Download and paste the rom on your SD card
Boot into CWM
Factory reset
Flash the ROM
Reboot your device.
------------------------------------------------------------
Do I have to fastboot the boot.img inside the flash package?
No need. Just make sure youve Flashed Munjeni's JB. And then directly flash the XV-R flash package. It will automatically install the kernel via cwm. Makes it hassle free
------------------------------------------------------------
The ROM is in 6 parts! How do I get the flashable zip file?
Download all the 6 parts from the mediafire folder and put them under one folder. Use WinZip, WinRAR or 7-zip to extract only the part01 and it'll automatically extract all others and making up the flashable zip file. WARNING: Do not rename the downloaded parts.
------------------------------------------------------------
FC regarding Play Store?
Try deleting Google Settings and let Play Store download it again.
------------------------------------------------------------
What works and what doesnt?
See for yourself. Don't ask please
------------------------------------------------------------
Do I need an Unlocked Bootloader?
Yes, of course you do
------------------------------------------------------------
Is overclock supported?
Yes, but the kernel included doesnt
------------------------------------------------------------
Camera FC's on v1.2.2
Settings>Apps>All Apps> Camera>Force Stop >Clear Data
------------------------------------------------------------
Why can't I find TimeScape, facebook, Walkman FB Integration, widgets etc?
The rom is de-bloated that is those features are removed so as to improve battery life, performance and ram availability
------------------------------------------------------------
Which kernel does this rom use?
Experimental Kernel by @etch04 and updates are automatically released as and when the dev releases a newer version
------------------------------------------------------------
Why does my phone randomly reboots?
Its a kernel bug and the kernel dev is working on it. Not a rom related bug
------------------------------------------------------------
Auto-Correct doesnt work with Xperia Z Ultra keyboard on v2.1.1?
Go to Settings>Language and Input>Keyboard and Input Method>Settings for Xperia Keyboard>Writing Languages>Download any of the Language Pack you wish
And Your auto-correct will work
------------------------------------------------------------
Home Launcher is only 4x4 instead of 5x4?
Settings>Apps>All Apps>Xperia Home>Clear data
Tips and Tricks
Set Background Process to 3
Upgrade the rom to the latest version always
v1.2.2 has some new kernel tweaks and newer kernel with best battery life
---------------------------------------------------------------
For Battery Life (v1.2.2+)
Set Max Frequency to 600Mhz
Lowest to 200Mhz
Set governor and I/O combinations as
Ondemand + deadline or Hotplug+cfq
If you find a better combination let me know
Use WhiteMagic ALS for brightness control
Set it to Powersave mode
---------------------------------------------------------------
For Performance (v1.2.2+)
Set Max frequency to 1GHz
Lowest to 400/600MHz
Set governor and I/O combinations as
Performance+cfq or hyper+sio or dyninteractive+sio/vr

Review and Feedback
for v2.1.1
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=43170457&postcount=947
by @cuartas
Ok here is my feedback after 10h testing.
1)Followed all steps, everything works fine during flashing, flashed Munjeni's ROM coming from experience 1.1.
2)ROM is smooth, it's like entering in a new world, animations, transitions, opening apps, everything if fast, even after installing all my apps
3)No home redraws, with whatsapp, gmail, etc, but with games (in my case angry birds) noticed redraws, but was too fast to put everything back to normal
4)No fc's by the moment
5)I love smallapps
6)Still testing battery, but currently I have 38%, coming from 95% since I begin to install the new ROM
7)Multitasking fine
8)Only one restart, configuring xperia keyboard, looks like was random restart, the rest of time never restarted again
9)Just installed the ROM got 160-150MB free, now with all apps I have between 80-50MB
10)Really don't like the app list, whats the utility of that band on the right?
Components working:
-FM radio: Yes
-NFC: No, no NFS settings and Xperia smartags are not compatible
-Camera: Yes, including video recording
-Illumination bar: No
-Notifications Led: Yes, tried with whatsapp, but led only works when device is with screen of or in lockscreen
-Bluetooth: Yes
-Floating touch: Yes, not glove mode, only to increase brightness when you put the finger over the screen and to select components in browsers (firefox for example)
-Talking on phone: Everything is fine
-Headphones and accesories: Yes
-Wifi: Yes
Problems:
-When I close Walkman from multitask, the app crashes, and when I open the app again don't play from the track where I stopped to listen
-This probably is not a problem but, what the... with sounds?
-Xperia keyboard, when I select english language package, app usually fc, and can't be oppened again untill I erase data
Problems that some people have that I don't:
-No problems with systemUI
Questions:
-Some way to use tab'n grid v3 mod?
-Whats the better config in CPU settings? currently I'm using ondemand + sio and get deep sleep
-Where can I find launcher settings
Conclusions:
Your ROM is almost perfect, talking about smoothness and stability I can say that you made a great job, this ROM is great for daily use

Feedback: The boot animation is amazing. I felt my xperia sola transformed into Iron Man. Haha. The 2 themes is also great. I'm using the red one now. The rom is smooth. Had random reboots, I think it happened twice. Battery life is also good. A really great rom indeed. Oh, the OTA is also working.
