[Q] How to install BusyBox and Xposed in HTC Desire X? - HTC Desire X

i have HTC Desire X. i can't install busybox, my phone reboots on installing it.
i want to ask that does this flashing the zip file helps? it wont brick my cellphone right?
i got this " Root_SuperSU.1.44-Busybox.1.21.1_in_xbin-signed" and "busybox" zip file from some XDA thread, i have attached it
do i have to install busybox in my phone before going to recovery and flash the zip file?? or without installing busybox on my phone i should go to recovery and flash this zip file? they haven't mentioned anything about it in that XDA thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=51688913#post51688913)
i have attached two zip files for BusyBox, please someone check it.
i m not able to install Xposed on my HTC Desire X. after reboot app_process disappears (shown in the picture attached).
there are three modes of installation in Xposed
1. Classic (write to /system directly)
2. manually zip flash by recovery
3. automatically zip flash by recovery
what does 2 and 3 do? and how does 2 and 3 work?
i have installed xposed version 2.1.4 via flashing zip file in twrp i got from this some website (i m not allowed to post the outside link for some reason), i have attached the zip file i got from that website.
Now i want to update it to latest version but after installing lastest version (2.5 or 2.4.1), app_process doesnt get install (app_process number shows 34 in red)
is there a solution to this problem?
is there a way to get Xposed zip for latest version?
Please Help. i m noob.
Thank You

To install busybox I think u need custom kernel.

You'll need a custom kernel?
I'm not sure but I'm sure that's the case, you can just download the "busybox" app from the PlayStore and click install.

Hard bricking can happen with installing busybox too, same chance as installing kernel. You can also install busybox from recovery, you only need to find a flashable zip

[Q] No SU binary installed?

When I go into SuperSU it says no SU binary installed, help please.
If you can, can you link me the binaries and tell me how to flash just the binaries?

Which hboot version are you on ? 1.24 (ICS) or 1.25 (JB) ?
If you're using a JB-made recovery on the ICS hboot (or the other way around) it won't work .
To find out your hboot version just reboot into fastboot or to the bootloader and you can check it there .
For ICS hboot use this recovery .
For JB hboot use this recovery .
Both are taken from this thread & full credit goes to neXus PRIME . I just added the direct links just to make it easier .
After you flash the right recovery , just get the latest SuperSU version (1.41) and flash it .
Also , in the future when and if SuperSU updates , don't try updating the su binary from the app - neither Normal nor TWRP/CWM mode will work . Just download the latest SuperSU zip from here .
Good luck!

my HBoot is 1.25, I have installed SuperUser and it installs fine and everything, but I used a root checker and it still says I don't have root
If you've installed it from the Play Store , then it won't work like that . You have to flash the zip I mentioned above from the Hboot-friendly recovery that you need (in your case , the JB one) .
Root needs more than just the application . It needs a file called "su" inside system/xbin . That's the real deal . SuperUser / SuperSU just controls which apps are given SU rights by that file .
If you tried flashing the zip above but still no luck , try changing the rom (or reflashing the same one from scratch) . Full wipe included .
Might also want to check if busybox is installed properly.

Also try to update SU binary in the Superuser app.

Unable to root

Hi guys. I've HTC desire 601 (4.4.2) with unlocked bootloader and TWRP recovery installed. I can't make the root because even after I install the zip file with su binary and supersu.apk (from recovery) and I reboot the phone , the system isn't rooted yet. I tried to make the root manually, putting supersu.apk into system/app and the su binary into system/bin (and /xbin) [from recovery], but the result is the same. Supersu app appears in the home screen and it says that the binary needs to be updated, but the process fails. How can I do? Thanks
try installing a custom kernel.
you are probably on a stock kernel and that blocks writes to the /system partition.
that's the easiest way that i can think of, the other way is to force s-off.

root it with kingo root HERE
download any gapps package for your android version and flash it if you have recovery, but I guess no.
If you doesn't have it, extract zip,and copy file by file to their path, then open updater-script to read permissions.
also you can try to flash zip package with this Download from here but be carefull, this app can cause bootloop (soft brick)

[Q] need help with LL to MM upgrade with root

Hey guys after my initial failure at trying to upgrade to 575 at the weekend, I didn't realize 575 was a MM upgrade so that was partly the problem the rest was the wrong SU and recovery in my PRF flash file.
Problem I have now is i've read that many forum posts im not 100% sure what files and steps I need to take , every 575 flash instructions Ive read seem to have slightly different ways of doing it.
Im coming from 23.4.A.1.264 (LL) What i need help is to clarify exactly what i need to make a successful prf upgrade.
Im assuming Recroot is one in the recovery section of PRF?
So called dummy file in SU section of PRF?
What about bootloop.zip and RIC.zip I hear about , are they required as well?
I know xposed needs to be uninstalled as well.
LOCKED bootloader
Thx for any help/links or clarification on steps you can provide.
edit:- Sorry mods this is in wrong section, wasnt paying attention , Sorry could someone move to QA section ? thx

...went through this two days ago:
(from this post, that helped me):
prerequisities: 5.1.1 stock, rooted, with NUT Dual recovery
put all ZIPs to your MicroSD card and flash in this order.
0: do you currently have xposed? If yes, get the xposed uninstaller (google it, easy to find) and flash uninstaller first.
0. Factory reset from within current recovery (Dalvik, data, cache...)
1. flashablemm.zip
2. byeselinux.zip
3. ricdefeat.zip
4. bootloopfix.zip (FOR .575, important to get this version)
5. xposed installer.zip
6. reboot
7. INSTALL BUSYBOX (get app in PlayStore and use it to install it)
8. enable unknown sources and usb debugging
9. then connect your phone to the PC and run the install.bat from the Z2_MM_Recovery folder (Accept any prompt popping up on your phone)
5. Phone will reboot into recovery when successfull, then you're done
ZIP files from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z2/general/z2-pre-rooted-twrp-3-0-0-2-xposed-t3390498
RECOVERY INSTALL: from here https://mega.nz/#!UlxGBQaD!HObJIHr9vq4VDRNI97Ni1cIiAn6iVxwE4qlPa89CGbY - Remember: only install the recovery from this file, everything else from the thread above.
NOTE: I had big problems when flashing TWRP 3.0.x IMG file from this thread. Instead get the recovery downloaded in this ZIP and install it form your PC, as described in the steps above.
One more note: I've waited for about 15minutes after finishing the flashing proces (step6). I had the startup animation going on, normally it should take maybe 5-10minutes. I got fed up after nothing was happening and restarted the phone - press the red button beside SIM flap and than power on the phone. After that it started normally.
thx i'll look into this
Do you have a link for 575 bootloop fix file?
what version of z2 do you have? if you have D6503, you can use my prerooted MM (.575). Here's the link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z2/general/prerooted-23-5-0-575-customized-t3387571
no need for bootloop fix
if other version, you can use these files in your prf:

Has anyone managed to successully install Xposed on this device?

Hello, I own a rooted HTC Desire 630 and I attempted to install Xposed Framework two times now, but both of my attempts failed miserably ( I got stuck at HTC boot screen, although I could access the recovery ) . So miserably that I had to relock the BL and flash the stock ROM. This is getting annoying, because I followed all the steps really carefully ( FROM HERE: bit(DOT)ly(SLASH)2oS8H1u ) and I used the correct ARM .zip file. Is there a software problem that doesn't allow this file to be flashed? Or do I have to use special Xposed files just like it's needed for Samsung?
I have to mention that I had unlocked BL, Superuser access and the latest TWRP beta made by @Captain_Throwback when doing the prcedure.
ANY HELP/FEEDBACK WOULD BE APPRECIATED
1. Root your phone
2. Install Magisk manager apk
3. Flash Magisk from recovery
4. Flash systemless Xposed framework
5. Install Xposed manager apk (modified for systemless xposed framework)
6. Install modules you want/ need.
7. Done!

That seems pretty convincing. I'll try it myself and confirm if it works for me.
Oh, and one more thing: Substratum. It's practically unusable for this device. Once you enter and finish the initial setup, you are prompted to grant it multiple app permissions, aswell as Superuser permissions. As soon as I hit GRANT on the Superuser pop-up, the phone reboots itself and the whole app data is cleared. Is it just my device that's operating like this or is Substratum unsupported?
Wondering if I should create a new thread on this if the problem persists.

Doesn't seem to work for me, Magisk just wouldn't install. Flashed the .zip in TWRP (v12.0) but after the reboot Magisk is still not installed.
So, in conclusion, the question still remains and the thread still awaits valid replies on how to do it.
