Bluetooth range on M8 - AT&T HTC One (M8)

My unit has less than 10 feet. My M7 was about 30 feet.
Can you please post your bluetooth range. I am trying to
see if my unit is defective.
Thanks in advance
CC

I am getting 30 feet of range easy. Tried 2 different bt devices, both got same distance.

Got about 30 feet to my Bluetooth speaker.

Portable speakers

I would like to know if anyone had a suggestion for a mini portable speaker. I drive 8 hours a day for work and the phone speaker doesn't always cut it for playing music. Something that is self powered or rechargeable and can plug into the headphone jack. No batteries!
Thanks.

Ever consider a Bluetooth speaker? They make some that plugs into ac and clip onto the visor

Considering that you're in the car - you might want to get one of the bluetooth speakers that also has an FM transmitter. I don't know if Motorola still makes the T505 but that is the one I use. It had the capability to scan for other frequencies in case the one you were using had to compete with a local station.
As for a straight bluetooth speaker, I'm using the a Logitech Mini Boombox which is a compact (<5" cubed) 2 x 3W setup that is quite good for small area listening and has a microphone on it. There are a lot that are coming out now though, Bose airplay and Sonos comes to mind for better quality, higher price.
I use my Jawbone Jambox in the car via bluetooth; it has an available car charger or can be charged via usb/110v wall wart. I use it anywhere I want to listen to music, not just in the car. I've tried other less expensive pop-up speakers but they just don't cut it for me.
Just bought the Jambox Jawbone... Worth it!!!!

JBL
I have a "JBL Micro II" rechargeable speaker, and it sounds great. The battery lasts a long time too.
So far I have tried out X-mini MAX II which has superior sound for the best listening pleasure it can offer...
I use a FM transmitter I pick up from overstock . com
I think I paid around 8 bucks at the time. Been running it for about 4 years. Haven't busted it yet.
Looks like they run about 12.99 now! Still worth it.
I did take it apart and rotated the holder as a hanger instead of going up. Works way better so its not sticking above my dash in my pickup.

Has anyone tried a desktop speakerphone?

I go to board meeting four times a year where we wind up renting a polycom speakerphone from the hotel or convention center for around $600. I see there are a couple bluetooth desktop speakerphones (Plantronics Calisto 520 and Jabra Speak 510) that seem to be a much more economical alternative for six or eight people sitting around a table. Has anyone tried one of these or something similar? Are there any wired solutions for the RAZR?
Ive tried 2-3 different speaker setups and they all worked just fine.
In case if no sound, just reboot phone

Jawbone jam box currently on sale for $129, pretty loud and very small, includes headphone to speaker cord, also connects over Bluetooth. Recommended.

plantronics legend

So after doing a lot of research on line I see a ton of people are having the same problem as me. The legend disconnect from the phone when a call is made or revived. That makes this very "high end" Bluetooth worthless! I tried the headset on a G3 and a Note 2 and it works fine. After weeks of playing with it, updating and researching online I found out that it only disconnected when the Bluetooth and WiFi are on at the same time. If a call comes in and i turn off WIFI the headsets works like it should.
So why is this? What about the evo 4g lte's WiFi screws with the Bluetooth?
Is it a Bluetooth version compatible completely with the phone? I believe I read awhile back that the phone does not have true Bluetooth 4.0

I'm not sure? What would I look for?

See if your headset uses Bluetooth 4.0. Even though our phones say we have BT 4.0, I believe the HTC site said we only have 3.0+

I listen to music through bluetooth and it's really frustrating how horrible the bluetooth on this phone is. If I walk out of wifi range it gets really choppy and just has a poor range. My phone is on my hip and if I turn my head a certain way it cuts out. I hope my new s4 is nothing like this.

I use Bluetooth a lot via my speakers and it works across the house. The problem or suffering from turning ur head a certain way is because signals can't pass through water and our body consists of a lot of water and other liquids

Maybe you're right but I have never had a problem turning my head and having it cut out with any other phone. But as long as wifi is off the bluetooth works ok.. It's ridiculous I can't have wifi and bluetooth on at the same time. .

I'm having the same random disconnect issues while in the middle of a call. I've noticed that this only occurs when I have WiFi enabled. If I disable WiFi, I don't experience the disconnects. I'm on a Nexus 4 running AOKP.
Does anyone know if this is related to the Bluetooth stack on the phone or is it a hardware issue with the chip powering Bluetooth and WiFi simultaneously?

Stock ROM Bluetooth problem!

I know there is a known Bluetooth problem with HOX+ but mine has only just started - looking for help...
I've been using a 2nd gen Jawbone ear piece since I got my HOX+ in November. Over the last few months midd call it'll effectively loose the connection by switching sound in and out as if I had it in my hand up to my ear. The problem is that the device remains connection (bluetooth icon shows connection) so I have to power off then on again my ear piece to reconnect.
This can happen all over again, and again....
The same happens when I use different Bluetooth eat pieces which is what leads me to think it's the handset rather than the earpiece.
Amy thoughts or suggestions??

Amazing Sony SBH52 Smart Bluetooth Handset

Just received the Sony SBH52 Smart Bluetooth handset and it's perfect for the Note 3
Not only can you use it as a standard wireless headset for audio playback, the device itself has a phone speaker and mic to allow you to make and receive calls just like a mini mobile phone! This is great for being more discreet in public. I don't necessarily want dodgy people to know I am using an expensive phone in public. You can of course also use the earphones to make/receive calls.
You can also receive notifications on it from Twitter, Facebook, Gmail, SMS and Calendar. The text from these apps will scroll on the super clear screen. It will also read the text aloud if you wish. It also has an FM radio. The sound through the supplied earphones is also very impressive.
Finally you pair the device instantly with NFC, which is really convenient.
Working flawlessly on my Note 3 and callers say they can hear me perfectly when using it as a handset.

Looks great hope it works out. Wonder if it will be available in USA. Post back in a few weeks and let us know if it works out.
I had the Sony HBH DS980
It was the finest quality I've ever seen lasted almost 3 years of daily wear and abuse.

I have also the sbh52 1 week now and I say it's great also worth only I wish to last a bit longer if you use a2dp to hear songs or anything, at least it charged extremely fast so it compensates that.
A 2nd problem is the inability to save radio stations, it saves only one and I try in Sony support site to make them to fix that. If you can reply in that thread, if many yell then they might fixed it, after all in their site they was saying that you can save your radio stations which was false advertisement.

Guys please connect to the thread in Sony support I posted earlier and say something to fix that it only saves 1 station, it's totally stupid really what they did
Don't laugh but without the earphones the sbh52 plays the sounds from its speaker witch is good really so I have this in a distance from my 6 month son and I play a list with baby songs and this is great

It was promoted as a Z Ultra accessory but it is also an accessory designed to work with any BT enabled device.
I have been using it for some time with the Note 3 and it works flawlessly. Very impressed with the sound, signal range, stability and usability. Worth every penny. I just don't like the fact it attracts fingerprints!

Bottom Line Telecommunications is taking US preorders for the SBH52 also. At $71.79 looks like its a little over $25 less than Negri. I've ordered some rather odd stuff from shopblt.com before. Despite their horrible looking website they have pretty good customer service. I put an order in for one, it says they're forecast to get 50 on Nov 1st and will ship after that. They're also saying it has US warranty support in the cryptic description.
As always, purchase with a credit card so you have charge-back protection against the merchant.

really was hoping it would, I guess nothing is perfect

I really like the look of this, but have one question. Can I fully control my music on this? I mean navigate through albums, artists, etc to find new songs / albums to listen to?
Would be grateful if anyone knows the answer.
Thanks.
I think it's only serial, it shows the songs one by one no matter in which folder they are but I'm not really certain

Man, I hope Sony release an update with Apt-X, will be an instabuy for me in that case.
