[4.4.2] Rec. and ADB Screen recording very laggy - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

CyanogenMod 11 M5 is great, no doubt about that, performance is better, it's way cleaner and streamlined, less bloated and the latter...
It's been a few days probably, almost a week since I've been using CM11, it's somewhat stable, but after digging across the new features and whatnot, I came across one small hiccup.
Screen recording is VERY LAGGY.
For a phone that sports the following specs:
1.4GHz Quad Core Exynos 4412 Processor
1GB RAM
Mali-400MP4 GPU
and the rest which I'm too lazy to type...
I find it difficult to believe that the phone would be so laggy, close to an unusable state in screen-recording mode, I've tried other apps like screencast (am I right?) and REC. (one of the most popular kitkat recording apps) but all seems to have the same very laggy results.
I've used the ADB method (which I believe is the one also used by REC.) in kitkat which is really laggy as well.
Tried workarounds:
- Rebooting
- Setting minimum clock to 1.4GHz
Video showing how laggy the device is in screen recording mode:
I also saw another guy using an S3, but a different version (SH-i747)
The only main difference between the int'l version and his version is that the SH-i747 has 2GB of RAM, a (lower) dual core processor, and (not sure if better or not) Adreno 225 GPU
I really really really hope you guys could help with this prob, I don't really see why screen recording is so slow with a phone at this arsenal. Please do help, much appreciated
Device Info:
Device: Galaxy S3 int'l [GT-i9300]
ROM: CM11 M5
Kernel: Stock CM
Android Version: Kitkat 4.4.2

Hey,
Have you found solution ?

I think its laggy because the Galaxy S3 doesn't have this feature enable by default. Plus we're talking about an experimental feature here. Hopefully this mod can be updated to perform better.

1.) It looks like 100% Korean.
2.) I don't think it mentions having 1GB of RAM , so I'd doubt it.
3.) I'm pretty sure they wouldn't work, the developers would have to adapt the current ROMs to it.
Bottom line : Don't buy it. It still has a low screen resolution, barely changed camera (3.2mp -> 5mp). Who knows about the RAM, it's Korean so it's OVERPRICED. A dual-core processor isn't worth buying a whole new device plus paying a premium.
Save your money and wait for a US/International version. Preferably a US since it'll probably sit around the current Galaxy 5 prices of $230/$270 (changes a lot) and may have better specs, hard to tell for now.
According to a guy in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1593190
It does have 1GB of RAM but it isn't worth the price tag. Samsung said there wouldn't be a us version. (probably would have been announced with the 3.6 & 4.2 if it was coming state side)
I am sorry that ur wrong. GALAXY PLAYER 70 PLUS is not 1GB RAM. It is 512MB RAM.

They changed the camera to full hd.
I have sgp 5.0 and the device is slow i dont have enough free ram (max 140 free ram after closing some apps that return automatically run again later)
I use tegrak oc so i have 1.3 ghz to make the device work faster but it still slow.
Games like pib got a lot of little stops and it sometimes even temple run.
And its little embarrassing that you give the device to a friend and it start to stuck in the games and then i need to taje the device and start kill the apps and hope it won't stuck again. Sometimes it stucks reallt hard so i need to restart the device.
This is why i want to buy the new galaxy player because it much much better.
The problem is that there are not a lot of devs to the galaxy player so it doesn't have a lot of roms :-\

I have got one GB70D and it does have 1GB RAM. But I am not sure which cpu it has. The gpu is PowerVR SGX 540, and the frequency is 300~1008MHz. It seems to be omap 4430, but i run Antutu benchmark and compare its score with LG P920. The 2D and 3D scores are much lower than P920.
I just got a used GP70+ (YP-GB70D) and it has 1 GB RAM.
I am quite disappointed with it - the major problem is the Adobe Flash performance of videos played in the web browser.
The GP70+ has flash 10.3 installed. Since Flash player is no longer available in Google Play, I use backup copies from my other phones and tablets and .apks from apktop. Flash 11 does NOT work - either causes force closes, or start playing and freezes. I installed the last version of Flash 10 before 11 (10.3.186.7), and it can only play up to 480p video - NO HD Flash, that completely freezes.
This is really unacceptable for a dual core OMAP4430 device. My GP5.0 and the Galaxy S phone has a single core Hummingbird CPU. It has Flash 11.1 and can play up to 720p Flash video in the browser.
The device also feels a little sluggish for a dual core tablet, even when using GO Launcher. It has a 800 x 480 screen, which is lower resolution than eg. Kindle Fire (which also has OMAP4430), the GPU drives fewer pixels and everything should be faster.
One big plus is that 1080p STORED videos (MP4, DIVX) play flawlessly with MX player - MX player shows that hardware decoding is enabled. HW acceleration is NOT supported in the single core GP5.0, and it can only play up to 720p (some not all, depending on bitrate).
P.S. By the way, if any GP70+ owners want a copy of the rooted firmware of this player (GB70KRLD2), please post your request here or PM me (I don't want the upload link to be killed quickly). I searched high and low and finally found it in a Chinese forum (Google Translate saves the day!). Thank goodness it was still good for download.

[Q] Unsmooth scrolling

So I have a Chinese MTK6589 phone called Tronsmart TS7 Glacier. It is quad core 1.2GHz with 1GB of RAM.
My brother has a different MTK6589 phone with the exact same specs, though I noticed everything runs much smoother on his device.
Scrolling through stuff and going through all the apps looks liquid smooth on his device, whereas on mine it's not very smooth.
Would there be something causing this, or is the phone I bought just bad?
If it's just a crap phone, then why is it slower, with the same specs as the smoother phone?
No 2 boards are made the same in android's case. try checking out the new nexus7.2's fora, and there you'll see how many software related issues are there, and not. some have wifi issues, some have storage issues, some have touch issue, some others have what-not.
chinese boards aren't that productive when compared to other oems'. for instance, I had better UI performance on my ol' HTC Desire, running my own ROM and few other tweaks besides overclocking. though benchmarks were certainly lower than my cousin's chinese-board-based QMobile phone, with a quadcore 1.2ghz proc, I had better performance on my Desire, which seems like a quite low-end phone now, with just 1ghz proc.

Weird stuttering on Galaxy Ace 3 LTE, tried everything to fix it...

Keep in mind that english is not my first language, and I'm posting here because of the visibility and because my device hasn't got a section.
I own a galaxy ace 3 LTE, Qualcomm MSM8930 Snapdragon 400, dual core 1.2 ghz with adreno 305 and 1GB ram, android 4.2.2. Sounds quite good, but something really bothers me... The stutters.
This phone stutters noticeably when scrolling (anywhere: stock browser, third-party browsers, on sms list...) and in VERY BASIC 2D GAMES, like Line Runner, Doodle Jump, Impossible Game. On this game, I found that it stutters a lot more right after I touch the screen to jump.
My previous device was an LG L7 II, with 768MB of ram, a dual core cortex a5 1 ghz processor and an adreno 203, and it was WAY better in this regard. Those 2d games worked like a charm on my LG phone.
Other than that, the phone is fast and can run even heavy 3d games with little to no problems. And I only have some basic background processes running, such as phone processes or gcm service.
Already tried developer options (all of them), different governors, I/O schedulers, greenify, frozing samsung junk, seeder, factory reset, flashing the whole firmware again... Nothing worked.
Samsung pulled out some updates for this phone, but the problem is still here. Please, tell me if there's something else I can try, or at least if this is a problem that Samsung can fix with an update or is an hardware fault. The phone is perfectly usable but this is REALLY annoying.
I forgot to add a thing: depending on the app, stuttering while scrolling occurs more or less frequently. But it's always there.
Stuttering in 2d games makes them more difficult and look like sh...

[Q][Samsung] Porting similar phone's ROM

Excuse me,
I'm currently own a Samsung Galaxy Trend Plus (GT-S7580.
It has a dualcore 1,2GHz chip, 768MB RAM, Adreno 200 GPU with a 4inch screen, which is 480x800. The phone is loaded with Samsung's 4.2.2 official ROM (there is no custom ROM for the phone yet, anywhere)
I saw news about the Samsung Galaxy Ace Style, the one just got to the store 1 month ago. Its spec is the same as Trend Plus, same dualcore, same GPU, same screen size, except for the RAM. Ace Style's RAM is only 512MB. But, surprisingly, it runs on Samsung's 4.4 Android.
So, the question is, is it able to port that 4.4 from Ace Style to Trend Plus by any simple means?
+1
I'm and others also waiting for custom roms and the Cyanogenmod version of this Device.

please help me .. i need to overclock this phone

I have huawei mediapad m1 s8-301uv
Android jelly bean and there is no any update to kitkat
And it lags and crashes alot
It is a quad core phone but only one core is online
I rooted the phone and installed many programs to overclock like kernel adiutor and set cpu and others sometimes only two cores are online and the other two are offline
I need at least three cores online all the time even if it drains the battery
PLEASE HELP ME
Android 4.1 and 4.4 handle stuff similar and you won't see a big difference. These kernel auditor(and similar) only provide a placebo effect and are useless unless you a´have a custom rom installed, at least for me.
No matter how many cores you have the processor itself can be trash, dual core should be fine for regular usage if it's good enough.
