[Q] Needing to unlock again!!? - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I got my phone on ebay.co.uk sometime back then. A small orange logo is branded on the backside. The least I did was to root and sim/network unlock it. Apps piled up over time and it was getting laggy. I had to install an android version. Through many hours of following instructions, waiting, trying a few versions and being frustrated. I finally got to android 4.3.1. However I had to root and sim unlock it again! The 2 popular method - galaxy s2 unlock, and galaxy S unlock with busybox, both failed, and to no avail even after reinstalling the android again. The phone was still sim locked.
So fed up I put it aside for. Today I upgraded to 4.4 and both unlocking apps failed. I restored it to 4.3.1 hoping I can get some help over this mess.

[Q] Bell IMEI Unlock

Quick question out there for anyone who has experience with an IMEI unlock for the Bell Galaxy S2: Which service did you use, and what was the turn around time for the code?
Also, once it is unlocked using this method can you flash, root and even go back to stock rom while keeping the unlock intact?
Thanks
I used the Galaxy S Unlock app from the market and it took about 5 seconds then the phone was unlocked with no code.

Yeah, want to do it without root for now.. Wanna test the phone out before spend a bunch of time modding it and removing the possibility of return.

[Q] Help please, unlock S2 currently on Orange UK

I was given a new S2 on Orange (running ICS) which I didn't want or need, so I sold it. The person who bought it said she wanted an unlocked phone to use on another network and I told her she could get this phone unlocked, either for free, if she googled it (using a couple of apps that root then unlock) or from most phone shops. She bought it on that proviso.
I received a call from her today - she is complaining that she tried the "free" way - which didn't work, then tried a number of phone shops, every one of which said that the phone couldn't be unlocked.
She may have done the "free" way incorrectly therefore making it impossible for the phone to now be unlocked. I feel somewhat responsible but don't want to take back the phone now. I said I would call in to try to help her when I'm next in her area. Is there anything I can do to get the phone unlocked now?
Any help and advice would be very welcome and thank you in advance.
I doubt there is anything that can be done and the assistance you are asking may not be forthcoming from this forum.

Whoever tries to unlock the phone will need some basic knowledge in this area and needs to understand all the risks associated with this process. If you can tick off these two boxes just follow a few simple steps (just done that myself and can confirm it works fine):
1. Root your GS2 (plenty of threads on this forum)
2. Go to Google Play and search for "Galaxy S Unlock", the author is "Helroz".
3. Run the app from step 2. Go to "Unlock SGSII" tab on the top of the screen.
4. Tap on the first item:"Step 1 Backup files...."
5. Tap on the second item:"Step 2 Change lock-bytes", and wait until your phone restarts.
That's it.
No chance. If mobile repair shops can't unlock it, no way anything from Google Play (or anywhere else, Unlock SGSII included) will unlock it. Somebody is paying for an unlock code from a carrier.
u mite wanna chk dese links

This is the way to do it. It works because i did it this way 2 months ago on my orange uk I9100P last week on my draughts new I9100P. You might have to update your bussybox that's all
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
Many thanks to everyone for their inputs, I really appreciate it. I'll be trying today/tomorrow to sort it and will update with result.
Cheers everyone.
All done successfully - many thanks to all who replied to my plea for help.
i am having samsung galaxy s2 I9100 .i brought it second hand.i dont know that it is not factory unlocked.now i flashed my s2 to leaked XXLSJ 4.2.1.now my device is asking for sim card unlock code.what should i do.....plzzzz help
OK first time in this forum, (so please be kind!!)
I'm not a total newbie to android - Google Nexus One - CM7.2 and SGS CM9.
Currently :
S2 GT-i9100P
Android 4.0.4
Baseband - I9100PBVLPB
Kernel - 3.0.15-I9100BULPC-CL332484
Build no. IMM76D.BVLPC
Was originally running 2.3.6 GB but updated via KIES to 4.0.4
Rooted with CF-Root
Yes, I have backed up my efs file
Yes. I have the dodgy emmc chip
NO!! Not bothered with NFC as probably gonna go CM10 when succesfully unlocked.
I've tried all the unlocking routes, free and paid (still waiting for several refunds!!). "Helroz" works, but if phone is restarted, have
to run app again to get unlock.
Does anyone have a permanent fix?
If it were for me, then no problem running Helroz every time, but it's for my daughter so want something permanent.
Going to go to a "phone shop" tomorrow to see what they can do....But much prefer to get it sorterd here with people that know and care!!
Thanks in advance
OK After MORE searching, finally found the thread for "GalaxySim Unlock 1.02" Duly downloaded and works a treat. I have thanked in that thread.

[Q] Phone's network lock returns after update

Hi all,
I've been a happy CM user for over a year now - rooted and flashed ROM's in the first week that I got my GS2. I also used Chainfire's SIM unlock in the process.
For the last 2 months I have been updating to the latest nightly of CM10 without any problems, just this last week I did my usual update and upon reboot I was greeted with a "Network SIM Unlock" screen. I thought it might just be a bug in the nightly, pressed dismiss and rolled back to the previous nightly but the problem persisted. I went as far as to flash CM7 but the problem has followed me there too.
I've tried using chainfire's SIM unlock again, but it couldn't find the code. I've also tried an app called GS_II repair with no luck. Tried factory reset's, cache clearing and different kernels, all to no avail.
Anybody have any ideas what the problem is / how to fix it?
Any help would be highly appreciated!
search on google play GalaxSIM Unlock from Spocky,it's free, but when you will push the unlock button you have to pay like 2 euro.I buy my phone with 4.0.3 and when i upgraded to 4.1.2 i lost the unlock...with this app i unlock my device and since then i flash a lot of roms,it's great an cheap :good:
Thanks for the pointer - not sure if I want to spend money on an app that doesn't guarantee a fix...
"highly appreciated".......bollocks-you didnt even hit the thanks button when that guy helped you.Dont want to spend money-then keep the lock on......lol.
And if you bothered to search, you will find out that if you read Spockys thread on xda, you can download his app and use it for free.
Also there is an option to donate to him as a thanks for his work, in helping out ungrateful cheap skate nerks that didnt buy a ....in unbranded phone to begin with.

[Q] Samsung GT-I9100P Sim Unlocking (a ton of issues)

Hello,
so I've trying to unlock my galaxy S2 GT-I9100P (Orange) for 2 days and maybe 20 hours without any results. I am really get pis*ed about this and I know about all threads here and I was reading a ton of them and was trying everything I read, but my phone is still unlocked and I started to hate it (my phone)...
I've tryed rooting with S2 GT-I9100P insecure, secure kernels, other kernel and even unrooting and then rooting and etc.. And after every root tried using Galaxy S2 SIM unlock (tryed GalaxSim Unlock from Play Store also but it doesn't run, just shows black screen) and nothing! No unlock code found and still it's asking for unlock code when other SIM card is inserted.
I did a lot of read here and it looks this forum have a nice community so I thought should really get help here even my post would be like a hundred other ones and annoying. So I would really appreciate your help guys!
hey guys
please someone..
Have you tried any of the online unlocking sites? I found they can work quite well. Run you model phone as well as provider and unlock sim through google and see what comes up.
If all else fails try contacting Orange for the unlock code.
For as start try sim-unlock.net

Man it's paid. The only thing why I tried to root it and to unlock because it doesn't cost. There's like 1000 sites like simunlock to get unlock code for like 50$.
And orange still doesnt want to give me the code

[Q] Reooting and flashing

Hi there.
Total newbie when it comes to this and abit confused as there are so many different instructions on how to root, flash and unlock phones - to the point it got me growling at the laptop...
Anyhow I have a Samsung Galaxy 2 GT9100 that is/was locked "Three". I think I have managed to root it as I am able to run Galaxy 2 SIM Unlock - but alas it doesn't seemed to find a SIM unlock code.
I'm hoping someone can give me clear guidance on unlocking the handset (so I can use my giffgaff (o2) SIM in it), install a stock Samsung Galaxy 2 ROM (Not fussed about customisation) and finally suggest a Kernel that is secure and will get rid of the yellow triangle.
As you can appreciate after a whole day at "trying" yesterday I would appreciate some clear help instead of trawling 1001 youtube videos

I've managed to get I9100XXLPQ_I9100OXALPQ_I9100XXLPQ_HOME.tar on - I'm not sure if that's the right one for the UK but its the only Generic one I can find and all seems fine, however the GPS is shockingly bad. Any ideas?
Thanks
