Disable messages from turning on the screen? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 5

Is there anyway to disable this feature? I feel like I'm just missing something but I just don't want messages to activate my screen when I get a new message.
Sent from my SM-G900T using XDA Premium HD app

This depends on the notification settings of the messaging app you're using. Personally I use Go SMS because it has the option to enable or disable screen wake for notifications. As far as I know there is no way to do this with the stock Samsung messaging app.

Thanks, I guess I could use a different app, I was just content with stock. I'll look around at some.

Thought I saw it in the messaging app, under notifications. Somehow can't find it now.

Go to settings, then notifications and unchecked lock screen.

All that does is disable the message preview on the lock screen, the screen still wakes.

Exactly, I was hoping for a way to disable the screen wake feature.

Not as good IMHO! I think Sammy has done a bang up job with the software on this phone. Hangouts can't scan text off pics, change theme and bubbles etc...

Install Wanam Xposed, under messaging at the bottom enable hidden screen on feature. Reboot and you should see it.

Data Service dropping off with Trigger 3.3 Rom

Ok, so lately my vibrant has been dropping data service off and on. Using Trigger 3.3 with Overstock Kernel. When I try to download a app it drops the data service and says no service error and shows a x next the service bar and no 3g/edge icon. Also happens when going online with the web or YouTube or even the Android Market. Tried reflashing but problem still shows up after awhile. I also notice the gps fails most of the time. Starting to get pissed off. Any help would be great thanks.
Ps- using the KB5 Modem too

Those methods did not work for me. I would either not be able to find the apps i am looking for or i would still get that error message. But thanks anyways.

Have you tried clearing Play Store data, cache, and Google Framework data and then reboot. Not sure if it'll help though.

Ok but once you root definitely use market enabler. These apps are simple not available in our country (through Google play) and market enabler will trick the market into thinking you are in a different country or carrier

@NikosGREECE
You can just install the Play Store .apk file like any other application. There is no need to delete the old playstore and all that.Just browse to the .apk file with some File Managers and install it like we do normally.
Only the UI of the Play Store will change with these updates and you will still have all other apps and games that are compatible with your device.
@All others
I think the new Play Store 4.0 version is a lot more faster than the old 3.10. The new one conserves a lot of mobile data too when compared with the old one.
A lot of mobile data means new apps and games?

Do you have Lucky Patcher installed?
As Pinyin is a Google app I would hazard a guess it's trying to install to your system partition which is around 2gb and separate from internal and sd. It's where the rom is hosted.
As above poster mentions, there are various apps you can use to move system apps to internal storage, or foldermount to fool the system into thinking a directory on your sd card is actually your system partition etc.

Uncompressed mms

Is there a way to use Google hangouts SMS and have the pics sent not be compressed. So if I take a 2 meg. Pic it will send the 2 meg pic Instead of compressing it?

Yup, the app does enable you to send uncompressed mms, amongst a host of other features.
Some use it as their daily driver for mms instead of the stock app.

Hangouts does not compress mms. The default and only setting is to send mms as-is, uncompressed further by the app. On your end, it's going out in whatever compression was originally in the file (jpg, &c).
