Seems to be built in, no app. You may want to try six axis from the play store, if you have root then try the compatibility checker and off you go

Hi, anyone trying to play Shadowguneadzone with Sixaxis (PS3 controller, 4.1.2 rooted stock)? I play a lot with this combo on Nexus 7 (works great), but when I tried today (bought HDMI dongle - trying to play on TV), gamepad will disconnect as soon as I start game in deadzone (e.g. select deathmatch).
When I switch back to sixaxis and pair the gamepad again, the game restarts.
EDIT: My bad, got it working (I didn't have Sixaxis IME selected). And I'm too lame to know how to delete the thread.

How did you manage the keys? i've found one map online but that one doesnt work with note 2.

I have looked around these forums and other posts and could not seem to find any answers. Does anyone know how to use an xbox or ps3 controller on the droid dna without root? I do have money in my play store account and can buy other apps but I am not rooted. I have tried to use the usb/bt joystick center app to see if the controller is even being recognized. I have an otg and when I plugged in my ps3 controller (wired), the app was able to find it. however the controller was unable to control anything on my phone. Also, I have a wireless xbox receiver. I have tried that and my phone did not even recognize the connected device. Evrytime I plug in a controller, I get a message saying "unable to charge device." has anyone been able to play their droid dna with a controller yet? please help. Thanks!
Download the six axis compatibility app and see what it says. Last I heard you need to be rooted for any of that to work since we don't have the libraries for it stock in running viper so in not stock so me checking unfortunately won't help you. Six axis is definitely the best app though.

4. download the pair app off website onto pc
5.change bluetooth address of controller to what the mobile app says too
6 based on what game you wanna use it for either get lucky and find a pre made button map or create your own.

I've just spent about 3 days searching the net as well as this site for answers maybe someone can help
Ok here goes I have a Samsung galaxy s3 gt-i9300 with omnirom 4.4.2 kit Kat, an otg cable that works fine, original wired controller that works fine as well, connecting them and nothing happens, the lights on the controller flash but that's it, I've downloaded the USB/BT joy app from play store and the controller responds within the app, switched IME on, but non of my games work with it its frustrating, is there anyway to load drivers within android itself to get it to work without an app? Bypassing root that is. Mc4 asphalt 8 FIFA 14, non work. Please help

Hi friends, I have a problem with the sixaxis controller application.
Since I changed my smartphone (xiaomi mi 8 with miui 10) the application no longer works. the application is not compatible with the miui I think.
can anyone tell me if there is an alternative application to connect the controller of the playstation 3 to the smartphone via bluetooth?
If this is not possible, can you tell me which controller to buy compatible with android and which application to play wireless?
