[Q] cant install any ROM and not even CWM - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi all i m really looking for help as i am loosing my hope ,first my phone detail
GT-I9100,
2.3.5,
baseband-I9100XXKF1
kernal-2.6.35.7-I9100XXKI3-CL577579
gingerbread.jpkj2..
.now the problem is very wired,i have rooted my phone becoz i see superuser and i have CWM version 3.15 installed, have Rom manager installed but there is no way i can install JB or kitkat ..i tried almost all steps but the one place i always fail is when i try to install clockwork recovery for gt-i9100 via Odin my phone doesn't boot and shows the main screen and exclamation mark then i used a kernel flash as mention in one of the forum to reboot again..
I am amazed to see that when i go into the recovery mode i don't see all the option just 4 general option and that gives me an idea that i dont have CWM installed but then why in my icons i have CWM?? i am confused...i have tried so many times to flash it but but my phone gets soft-brick and again i flash kernel to boot into my device.i am really worried to do any more steps as i feel i will brick my phone now
..my only question is can i install JB,kitkat or any update on this device...if yes then can any one who got my issue can help me one first and last time to get it done...please help:crying:

issues with CWM

hey guys, searched the forum, found some stuff matching my post but figured i would put out an update. just rooted tonight, ive done these before and i used to be a member awhile ago but forgot what email used. anyway, galaxy s2 sch-r760. recovery problem. CWM doesnt seem to offer a proper recovery and im new to using odin so im not sure where to go from here. how can i go about making a backup if i cant get into recovery? i would like to do a new rom and back this thing up asap. need a new recovery or ideas for one. any help would be appreciated guys!
You need to expand on this. What did you do to root,do you have stock or cwm recovery?
Followed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1928566 to root. Its a generic CDMA. Root went fine. It tells me that it has root access. I am trying to flash CWM recovery and it won't boot into recovery from the CWM option. It shows the unpacking screen for a few seconds then reboots. As of now I am assuming its stock recovery because I can't get it to boot into recovery from CWM like I was saying
Tried doing a manual boot into recovery and it turned on, said galaxy s2, turned off then rebooted. Its acting like there is no recovery at all....
No help on this guys? Anybody mod generic s2 before?

[Q] Screwed my phone - only have "download custom rom" screen

I'm new here and im only here because i destroyd my S3 software.
i was using cmd 10.1 on my rooted phone but i thought i would try to downgrade it to cmd 9.1
without further thinking (stupid me) i downloaded the 9.1 update from the setting - about phone - etc.
when i then restarted my phone was stuck at bootlogo screen. when i then tried restart to clockworkmod i came right to "dowload custom rom" screen.
i have tried to install a stock rom with odin without any luck and also, by using odin, installed a pit. file. when i now have installed a stock rom i get the normal stock rom boot loader screen but are stuck at that point.
i have also tried to install clockworkmod with odin. just came to the "download custom rom" screen.
Can anyone help me or is my phone totaly broken? :'(

[Q] Failed rooting of phone, No longer working

Hello,
I recently made some mistakes with my Galaxy S2 GT-i9100 while following this a tutorial on Galaxys2root.com (Can't link to the precise article because this is my first post) I flashed the CWM recovery tool linked by this website to my device through the latest version of Odin and afterwards my phone would not turn on. I was able to get into the Clockwork recovery mode however but couldnt install anything because I had forgotten to place any ROMS on my device beforehand. To try and resolve the problem I did a factory reset in the recovery mode but this did not effect anything. I am now unsure what to do next. I would still like to root my phone so that I cant get rid of all the bloatware put on it by Orange mobile as well as update my phone to Kitkat(Currently running Android 2.2) Can someone tell me what I have done wrong and what is the next step for me to take?
Thank you for any help that you can offer
the kernel you flashed it is the problem

is this site you are talking about:
http://galaxys2root.com/cwmtwrp-recovery
im guessing that is the problem(Installing CWM/TWRP recovery will most likely break the ROM you are running currently as it overwrites the ROM’s KERNEL).
If iam right, that means you have to flash another kernel,i suggest Siyah kernel 2.6.14 its for gingerbread version(it has CWM recovery and auto-root):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1263838
after that you can flash the KK rom you want through CWM .

Don't let it auto reboot after the recovery flashes. Either uncheck auto reboot or just hit the combo for recovery when the phone reboots. Many newer Samsung phones have a script that reinstalls the original recovery if it realizes that you have changed it. You have to install another rom or root it and remove the script and reflash the recovery and it'll stick if you just want stock rooted.

didn't worked...... after i flash the recovery (i'm in download mode) i boot directly into recovery.... the same problem

what should i do now ?
http://galaxyyoungs6312.blogspot.com/2014/01/clockworkmod-recovery-for-galaxy-young.html
6310 + 6312 use the same recovery.
yeah....but i tried that rooting method and it didn't work....
maybe i can flash a new rom from ADB but i can't pass the signature verification
any ideas ?
Well I can tell from your pictures that you didn't follow the suggestion of trying SuperSU, but that might not help anyway. That Framaroot version is an older one. Get the updated version from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/framaroot/root-framaroot-one-click-apk-to-root-t2130276 and use SuperSU instead of Superuser. Sometimes you have to run it a couple times before it'll go through. Reboot in between tries. Here are better instructions for the rest of the process:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2460029
man ...didn;t work... ... tried at least 5 times .....
or....i can flash a rom from ADB but i can't pass the signature verification....
a have an ideea ....maybe i can flash via odin a rom whit a custom recovery ...from there i can flash an old backup of mine .....it's good to proceed right that ?

[Q] Installed CWM Recovery on Galaxy Note N7000 and got in a bootloop straight away

Hello dear community
This is my very first thread I am making on this website, so please pardon me if I am on the wrong page of this website.
Anyways, I'm more or less desperate. I saw a youtube tutorial on how to install Android 4.4 Kit Kat on a Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 and I heard I'd need root AND a custom recovery.
Because I'm a total newbie to this kind of stuff, I tried the very first thing I saw that had something to do with custom recovery, because I already had my phone rooted. So, I looked up a tutorial on youtube on how to install CWM custom recovery and ended up with installing it successfully, but now my phone is stuck in a bootloop. As I already mentioned, I am a newbie and therefore I am very desperate at the moment, you know.
The only thing I can do is go to Recovery Mode, but if I try to turn the phone on it gets stuck in a bootloop (It actually doesn't loop at all, it just freezes at the moment when the Samsung Galaxy Note logo appears and doesnt do anything after that.).
I think my problem is that I actually threw a new Kernel on my phone, because the video title says "How to install Kernel with CWM [...]"
I would be very very very very very grateful if anyone was kind enough to help me get out of this!
I really need help!
Thanks!
PS.
If this helps you help me:
This happened when I had Android 4.1.2 installed.
There's going to be 2 ways to get out of this:
1) Reinstall the stock firmware via Odin.
2) Install a custom rom via recovery.
Personally, I'd go with number 2 because a) you wanted to update anyway and b) if you have the right recovery and rom, it'll be easier as you can just put the files you need on an external SD card and install via the custom recovery. Now, not all recoveries are able to flash any file. Many times you need specific ones to install the newer android versions. So, if you are wanting to install something 4.4 based, then using a recovery that was made, say, last year, probably will not work well if at all.
Another thing to try first, is to wipe the cache and dalvik cache in recovery since you said you tried to install a kernel. It is always recommended to wipe these when installing (assuming you did pick a compatible kernel with what you were trying to install).
