1. Get a Terminal app from the PlayStore
2. Type: SU
3. Type: mount -o rw,remount /system
4. Type: chattr -R -i /system
5. DONE
/system/xxx has no more write protection
EDIT: After a reboot - the /system/ is again protected

hello,
i would like to buy the device,
can you check if the device does support wifi display (miracast),
e.g if it can mirror its screen wirelessly to the tv (like as it was connected via hdmi cable)
i have an LG smart tv that is miracast certified, so i wonder if it can work with the mediapad x1
i know that on the mediapad there is the multi screen option, but i dont know if it is like wireless display (miracast)
let me know!
thank you!

Best thing that worked for me was I rooted with vroot then installed supersu and busy box after that just used rootexplorer and after rebooting it still retains permissions. No need for terminal.

The answer
Hello
Instead of "RootGenius" you can simply use "Kingo Android ROOT" software for rooting 4.2.2 Jellybean ROM And "Vroot" for Kitkat 4.4.2 ROM.
It works on MediaPad X1.
By the way you can unroot it using Kingo android ROOT software.

HELP! I am not sure how to root my MStar Android TV.

So I bought a television thinking it was a Samsung Smart TV, but it turned out to be an MStar Android TV. Long story short, I am stuck with this television. I feel like if I was able to root it I could do more with it; like access USB drive remotely and delete/move files via wireless, remove pre-installed apps, so on and forth.
But I don't have any idea what to do to root it. Which rooting method will work and I can't find help regarding this television. Would someone mind taking a look at this hardware info and direct to me a direction?

UPDATE FROM MY SIDE:
I foolishly uninstalled apps without a backup. Broke Google Apps and Play Services some how.
Then for some reason I thought installing BusyBox was a good idea. -_-
After BusyBox my wifi has stopped working.
Tried factory reset but that just erases the apps and settings. Wifi still not working.
So kinda stuck with getting it online via LAN.
How is your experience?
I too have mstar tv from vise vijya sales. I have rooted it is there way to use custom recovery on mstar smart tv

I have also successfully rooted my Mstar Android TV by seeing this thread. And removed unwanted apps like WhatsApp, Facebook, Skype, Twitter etc.
Please help how to boot into recovery mode manually in this Mstar Android TV.
And we can be in safe zone if we have custom recovery in it. Think on it guys

Android 5 Write Access

Hi,
i have this simple configuration.
Philips Andoird TV PUS6501 (Android 5) + External HDD
PC (Windows 10)
What i want is to copy files from my PC to the HDD wich is connected to the TV.
I heard this was possible with Android KitKat but since Android Lollipop the function is gone.
I heard what i want is possible if i get root and set up a Samba Server (wtf never done something like that before)
I heard root is possible but only temporary (with the dirty cow script) but i didnt find any tutorial for my TV nor did i recive any help in the Philips Android TV Thead.
So what can I do to get write access when the HDD is still connected to the TV?

Share the files on your PC and use X-plore or ES file manager to copy the files from one to the other. Another possibility is using something like Cetus Play on the TV side. It can set up a simple web server that will accept uploaded files.

Doesn't Multilaser M7 3g plus deserve a way to root?

Sorry if I'm uninformed, but I spent a few days looking for a method to root the infamous multilaser m7. A tablet with a very bad performance to install a virtual machine and at the same time super complicated in terms of compatible tools to improve its android 9. Has anyone experienced this problem, have any tips besides advising me to burn it or play In the trash?
My final objective is get remote access in this tablet without confirmation... none of most usable tools (Airdroid, Anydesk, teamviewer) work in this tablet without confirmation ou USB temporary confirmation every time the devise turn off or the tool updated. In respect of this last thing, I know that here isn't the best place to ask, but all help is welcomed.

AFAIK the 3 mentioned apps make use of a Wi-Fi connection and not of a USB connection. Once you are going to establish a remote connection this must be confirmed, will say the appropriate connection ID must get input.

I agree ... they use wi-fi connection, thanks to God for that ... what I said is that I need to connect to the tablet without confirmation, I need to leave the tablet in my store and just upload and configure it remotely. For this, even installing the Teamviewer and AnyDesk plugins, and activating the direct connection option of Airdroid using USB without root, it is still not possible to maintain a connection with that tablet (mind cracker multilaser m7). Better options for example using Airdroid would be possible if it were possible to root this infamous.
@criph
Because tablet is powered by Mediatek chipset you can try to flash a pre-rooted Android ( Custom ROM ) by means of SP Flash Tool or do it the hard way by flashing a Custom Recovery ( e.g. TWRP ), then flashing Magisk framework via TWRP and finally root Andoid by means of Magisk Manager.

Don't know if you're still interested.
Using App Ops you may grant Anydesk or whatever the ability to always accept external connections.
To enable App Ops on a device without root, you will also need Shizuku. Follow the instructions on the screen.

Definitely want to be using scrcpy. It uses adb as it's connection method. So if you can wifi adb to your devices you can remote control it.
If you need sound, it gets slightly more cumbersome. But sndcpy works well in tangent.

Some phones have an option in Developer settings. It normally explicitly says wifi adb. If you don't have the option, you'll need a root app or elevated terminal to activate it.
The app is faster to use if in a normal context.
Find on on the playstore. Just search wifi adb.
Then on your computers terminal, which has adb installed properly, type "adb connect {your phone's ip address}"
Once it successfully prompts and you accept the connection on your phone you are ready to use scrcpy.
You can find tutorials on how to install both adb and scrcpy.
But the most user friendly, if on widows, is to first install a repository called Choco. Again, look up how to do so.
Then, simply type these commends in an administrative PowerShell:
choco install adb -y
choco install scrcpy -y
If all of this seems overly complicated. It is a one time setup. And all of these tools are excellent to have in the future if you are into Android and software.
After these steps are completed, rember you first have to establish an adb connection and then type scrcpy into your terminal.
Ok, Thanks a lot!!!!

Oeps, the previous scrcpy.zip contains convctctytdl.exe ... you won't need this:
This is used to convert all youtube files (movie, list, etc...) to mp3
You can delete this file
This is the windows x64 version
You don't need internet as your phone is connected with a cable
Thank you everyone for your help!!!
Scrcpy is successfully installed and is working fine!!!
