About:
Welcome to Project Infinity! The first custom built developmental project for the T-Mobile Galaxy S5! This is going to be an ongoing project and hope to release new builds either nightly or bi-weekly.The ROM is based off of T-Mobile base and therefor offers the features that T-Mobile included (such as WIFI Calling) without some of the bugs that plague our phone by using the international Roms. I hope that this will be a community project and will do my best to update it with any requested mods or features. Enjoy!.

Please treat everyone with respect in the thread.
If you would like to contribute, I will implement most mods or tweaks that are offered and proper gratitude will be posted in the op.If you have knowledge of app or theme development and would like to assist in side projects for this rom please send me a pm..

Frequently Asked Questions:
Do I have to update with every release?
No, I am trying to push new releases out with new mods and things that I am playing with every few days. Just keep up with the changelog to see if there is anything worth upgrading for. Some of the time i may just add new things to Aroma that wont matter to you.
Should I do a full wipe with every release?
Not neccessarily. If I make huge changes to the roms framework, I will post in the downloads section that a full wipe is mandatory. For the rest of the releases its up you. If you experience any issues though, please do a full wipe and a fresh install before posting in the forum.
Are the T-mobile features included?
Yes! This rom is based off the T-mobile officially released framework. All of the proprietary T-Mobile features have been left in and untouched. This includes Wifi Calling and Hi def voice.
Why am I having issues installing or running wallpaper or image type apps like 500 firepaper or muzei?
These apps rely on the Live Wallpaper in the rom. This is a user selectable option in the Aroma installer and may have been removed during installation. Just reflash the rom without wiping and select the Live Wallpaper option in the Samsung Apps section.
Why are some of the apps such as Wanam or YouTube Ad-Block not working?
These apps are actually Xposed mods and are compatible with the Xposed framework. In order for these apps to function, you must have also selected the Xposed framework on installation (or download if from here). Before you run the apps make sure to first open the Xposed installer and select install framework and then tap on the modules tab, select the modules and then reboot. After reboot the modules should be running perfectly. Side note: Some functions in the Wanam module are known to not work with Android 4.4. This is a known issue as the app had stopped development.
I get a persistent notification telling me to update the Security Policy but the update always fails.
Go to settings/security and click on Security Policy Updates. Then change the Preferred Networks to Wifi and mobile networks and then on check for updates. It should update properly then. You can also just disable Automatic Updates so it wont notify you anymore.
How do I enable or change custom widgets on the lockscreen?
On the lockscreen, just simply pull down on the clock to enable the full widget view. Then long press on the stock clock and drag it to the trash can to remove it. Once it is removed, it will be replaced by a + sign that you can click on to add any widget that you like. You can also add more widgets by swiping left or right at the top of the page (where the widget is).
Upon first boot I have the CPU information showing up on my statusbar, how do I remove it?
It is a limitation of android that most statusbar modifications will automatically be enabled on a fresh install even if configured to be disabled. To fix, just go to Settings\Display\Show CPU and simply check and un-check both options. It should now be fully disabled.

Awesome, let me know what you think so far. Just an fyi: I already have made a lot more changes and added a lot of tweaks. Expect another update probably tomorrow.

Is wifi calling and hd voice on it ?
it would be nice we can have these two features + room dev
i was going to flash some rom over 900F dev thread, but they don't have these 2 features and i needed for travel over sea.
i will wait for this rom to stable, but good job, i will subscribed this thread

Works great. As Op stated. It looks stock but the louder sound is appreciated. Also it has WiFi calling and stock Lte notification signal. It's also nice to have the t-mobile apn for fast.t-mobile.

If you flash an international rom. You have to add the fast t-mobile apn. And when you add it, you cannot set it to ipv6. You are stuck with ipv4.

I did but the sound was a little to loud for me ... so I went back to Stock ROM ...

I actually like the sound being louder. Usually, the phone is on my side under my shirt. Difficult to hear the stock loudness.

[ROM][2.3.6] UnNamed v2.2.1 - (2/23/2012) - Working download link - Final Release

Graphic by k4zyn
Features:
-Based on UCKK6, Android 2.3.6
-Entropy's Daily Driver kernel (12082011) (governor set to on demand via init.d script)
-Rooted (latest versions of su, Superuser, and Busybox)
-Fully deodexed and zipaligned
-Removed bloatware:
Deep breath... Amazon Kindle, AP Mobile, AT&T Code Scanner, AT&T Live TV, AT&T FamilyMap, AT&T Featured Apps, AT&T Hot Spots, AT&T Movies, AT&T Navigator, Books, City ID, Days, Device Management, Dual Clock, Facebook, Genie Widget, Kobo, Mini Diary, myAT&T, Press Reader, Protips, Social Hub and sns accounts, Qik Lite, Terminal Emulator, Voice Commands and Voice Talk (the Market version of Vlingo is better), Words With Friends, Yahoo Finance, YPmobile, Zinio, and several other useless test applications
-App mods:
Browser: option to set text size
Browser: option to set user agent (Unlike the about:useragent trick, this setting actually sticks, even after a reboot)
Browser: set the default home page to Google and removed AT&T bookmarks
Camera: improved camcorder audio recording quality (Now 192kbps 48KHz)
Camera: modded to allow the volume up (or down) button to act as a shutter key (The camera will autofocus and snap a picture with a normal press, or you can hold down to lock in focus and exposure and then release to snap a picture)
Camera: works with less than 15% battery and during calls
Clock widgets: open the Clock app when tapped
Contacts: removed AT&T contacts
Logs Provider: modded to prevent text messages from being displayed in the phone log
Messaging: themed conversation view
Settings: additional screen timeout options (30 minutes and never)
Settings: screen color temperature settings (go to System > Display > Screen mode to choose between dynamic, standard, and movie modes)
TouchWiz Launcher: customized default layout and no text on empty home screens
Wallpaper Chooser: additional wallpapers from Ice Cream Sandwich and the international Galaxy S II
-Framework mods:
5 additional notification pulldown toggles (brightness, data, flashlight, sound, and sync), for a total of 10, with long press functionality to take you directly to the corresponding settings pages or, in the case of the flashlight toggle, to the camera app
Accurate battery mod
Charging complete notifications completely disabled
CRT screen off animation (available as an addon because I don't really like it)
Extended power menu with reboot, recovery, and download options
Home button lag fix (disables home button double tap feature)
No redundant vibration icon in the status bar (the mute or vibration icon will show (depending on your settings) only when the ringer is silenced)
Skip songs in any music app while the screen is off by holding down the volume keys
Themed several status bar icons (the stock alarm, flight mode, silent, and vibrate icons were fat and ugly)
-Other mods and features:
Additional alarms, notifications, and ringtones from Ice Cream Sandwich and CM7
Additional analog clock and calendar widget styles
Automatic zipalign at boot (init.d script)
BLN support
Galaxy Nexus boot animation
Ice Cream Sandwich animations
NFC support (Google Wallet is not currently supported, but some NFC tag reader apps in the Market should work) (Thank Entropy512 for this one!)
Rotation animations from Ice Cream Sandwich
Unrestricted USB tethering and Wi-Fi hotspot functionality
Updated version of Swype with a sexier theme and more options
Updated system apps

-Updated build fingerprint to KK6 since it's official now
-Updated Maps and Market (full package only)
v2.2.1 Changelog:

-Improved autofocus performance by reverting to KK6 camera libs (my testing has shown no adverse impact on video recording framerate)
-Fixed missing app issue in Market by reverting to KH7 build fingerprint (Google's Market servers still haven't been updated to recognize the KK6 build fingerprint)
Installation Instructions:
Prerequisite: You must be running a kernel with CWM.
1) Download update-unnamed-v2.X.X-full.zip and place it on your SD card.
2) Power off your phone.
3) With the phone powered off, hold both volume buttons and the power button for about 10 seconds and then release all three when you see the Galaxy S II logo disappear and reappear. This should boot you into CWM.
4) Select "wipe data/factory reset".
5) Select "install zip from sdcard" and navigate to and select update-unnamed-v2.X.X-full.zip.
6) When it finishes flashing, go back and select "reboot system now". The first boot will take a couple minutes.
Warning: Do NOT restore system data with Titanium Backup. Do NOT restore ALL apps with data. If you absolutely must restore something with Titanium Backup, only restore MISSING apps with data.

UnNamed v1
v1.0.1 Changelog:
-Disabled sf_slowBlur for a slight improvement in menu and pop-up animation smoothness (the difference is extremely subtle so don't be alarmed if you don't notice a difference)
v1.0.2 Changelog:
-Entropy's latest Daily Driver kernel (10132011)
-Galaxy Nexus boot animation
-Added 5 additional toggles to the notification pulldown (brightness, data, flashlight, sound, and sync)
-Completely disabled charging complete notifications (before only the sound was disabled)
-Reluctantly making the full package non-wipe. Previously it was wiping data and cache for you. Now it will only wipe system. Unless you're just updating, don't forget to wipe data / factory reset in CWM when installing!
v1.0.3 Changelog:
-Added the ability to set your preferred app install location
-Added additional screen timeout options (30 minutes and never)
v1.0.4 Changelog:
-Entropy's latest Daily Driver kernel (10202011)
-Enabled screen color temperature settings (go to System > Display > Screen mode to choose between dynamic, standard, and movie modes)
-Disabled the redundant vibration icon in the status bar (I coded it to show either the mute or vibration icon (depending on your settings) only when the ringer is silenced)
-Redesigned my original brightness, flight mode, sync, and flashlight toggle icons to look a bit more professional
-Removed the preferred install location option (it didn't seem to be doing anything)
-Removed Voice Command and Voice Talk (only removed from the full package) (I removed these because I found the version of Vlingo offered in the Market to be superior, but for those who think otherwise, I made an addon to get them back)
-Updated Google Maps (full package only)
v1.1.0 Changelog:
-Added the ability to skip songs in any music app while the screen is off by holding down the volume keys
-Added an option to set text size within the browser (Browser > Menu > Settings > Text size)
-Modded the camera app to work with less than 15% battery and during calls
-Added lpy's init.d script for increased smoothness in certain scenarios (increases the priority of core apps and services)
-Added an option to keep the screen awake while charging (Settings > Applications > Development > Stay awake)
-Set the default browser home page to Google
-Changed the flight mode and sync toggle icons (I think I'm finally satisfied with them)
-Updated Superuser and the su binary (full package only)
-Updated the home button double tap addon with the latest changes
v1.2.0 Changelog:
-Entropy's latest Daily Driver kernel (11032011) (Improved network performance)
-Added experimental NFC support (Settings > Wireless and network > NFC) (Google Wallet is not currently supported, but some NFC tag reader apps in the Market should work) (Thank Entropy512 for figuring this one out!)
-Added an option to set the user agent in the browser (Browser > Menu > Settings > Select user agent) (Unlike the about:useragent trick, this setting actually sticks, even after a reboot)
-Modded the camera app to allow the volume up (or down) button to act as a shutter key (The camera will autofocus and snap a picture with a normal press, or you can hold down to lock in focus and exposure and then release to snap a picture)
-Updated Swype to a newer, sexier version with more options
-Cleaned up and optimized the Loopy Smoothness Tweak init.d script
-Added the KH7 modem to both packages to ensure the correct modem is being used
v1.2.1 Changelog:
-Added long press functionality to the notification pulldown toggles to take you directly to their corresponding settings pages or, in the case of the flashlight toggle, to the camera app
-Fixed a typo in the build prop
-Updated Market and Maps (full package only)
-New addon to allow the true connection status to be shown in the status bar (instead of showing H+ for 3G, H, and H+)
v1.3.0 Changelog:
-Kernel:
-Entropy's latest Daily Driver kernel (11132011)
-ROM:
-Ice Cream Sandwich animations
-Improved camcorder audio recording quality (192kbps instead of 96kbps)
-Removed the AP Mobile widget/app (AP Mobile has been known to increase battery drain and data usage significantly and it runs in the background even if you don't use it)
-Removed all components of Social Hub, including sns accounts (Social Hub and its various services have been known to increase battery drain significantly and it runs in the background even if you don't use it)
-Removed the Device Management service (This service runs in the background and checks for and manages OTA updates. We don't want OTA updates from AT&T while running a custom ROM.)
-Removed several other useless apps: lcdtest, SamsungAppsUNA3, WlanTest, and wipereceiver
-Possible fix for random Wi-Fi hotspot disconnects (To enable the fix after updating, go to Settings > Wireless > Mobile networks > APNs, select Menu > Reset to default, and then select ATT PHONE)
-Updated YouTube (full package only)
-Addons:
-New addon to disable ICS animations
-New addon to undo all addon mods
-New addon to install AP Mobile
-New addon to install News and Weather
-New addon to install Social Hub and sns accounts
v1.3.1 Changelog:
-Fixed the infamous unlock pattern/pin security flaw (http://www.bgr.com/2011/09/30/major...ypass-att-samsung-galaxy-s-ii-security-video/)
v1.3.2 Changelog:
-This is the final update to the KH7 base. The next release will move to a new base.
-Minor optimization and cleanup
-Updated Maps, Media Hub, Street, and Superuser (full package only)

Hey man, the texts look amazing! I like the rom, but I specially love the text theme. Any way you can tell me how to get that separately?
Also, what's the widget showing the time?
Overall, the entire rom looks very clean and professionally made. I'll check it out this weekend, have no time to mess with my phone during weekdays.

Yeah! I tried de-compiling the mms.apk and tweaking some of the xml thinking they were responsible for that but itwould constantly force close... After 4 hours yesterday I gave up.

Yaa, someone finally addressed some of the issues in their ROM. The logging issue was a biggie for me as I use the phone button to look up recently called numbers. Very annoying to see the texts in there too.
Are you the GTG that made the 5 dock TW? I'd love to see one for TW4.

LOL, no it's not MIUI. It's one of the most popular ROMs (ICS of course) on the Galaxy Nexus. If it can be successfully ported to the SGS2, it would be the biggest thing to happen to this phone in a while.
SOrry for the noobish question but what are the differences between ur rom and cm9 ? Cuz it's based on cm9 ^^ ( include the same bugs )
Thank's anyway

Looks like you download the base ROM from the bottom of the giant quoted section with the change logs and the first link with MARC in the name...the file name has Verizon in it.

Must say this Rom is bad ass! If you like ASOP Roms you will love this, even 3minit works! Battery life so far is great as well.
This looks nice.

What do you need to download for ss3.71 mk2? I only see Marc for mdk???

The only trouble I had was it didn't like my google account. I setup a new one and all was fine. Did you select "no recovery" and "no kernel" on install?

Wow from flashing the rom? Got to be more to it.
Sent from my Beastly powered S4 using Tapatalk
Negative. I flashed the rom and my modules, all looked good. Hit restart and it turned off, never to turn on again. Im going to have to replace my phone because of this ****. Its not a soft brick whee i can just flash a new image and start over. All that requires the phone be able to at least turn on.
Did you use the aroma installer
Sent from my GT-I9505 using xda app-developers app
Wow. I had something similar happen to me. One of the AOSP roms screwed my phone up had to replace my MDK with mk2

I am stuck at the initial setup, at the turn on wifi screen. every time i try to switch on wifi it just shuts off immediately what do?
I installed through SS on a side partition. what modules do I need to install? and what is the aroma installer?

Same thing happened to me, just use the other full patch(the older one).

You shouldn't really be stuck. You can always skip the wifi setup and do it later (after you reboot and flash your modules). Your 4G should work.

What it does is it won't let u connect to wifi and then it will soft reboot over and over. By using the older SS full patch the problem was gone.

For those options you get during installation the only way to change those is to reflash the rom and choose the new option you'd like

Nice Rom, I like the look of the inverted apps. I have one request. I would love to see the highlighting disappear. For example, the check boxes, and radio buttons have highlights of whichever theme color you have chosen. Also settings app does the same thing. Its very ugly to have the highlights included. Is there a way to make a stock, black/transparent theme, with no highlighting/overlay colors?

So if I want to use custom icons, checkboxes, and radio buttons, I don't have the ugly green highlighting over the top off them. So transparent would be best.

Quote:
This mod will turn ON data_writeback for all 3 partitions - system, data and cache. This will drastically improve I/O performance (mostly on write operations) at the expense of file system integrity in certain situations, like unexpected system shutdown. The risk is not extreme, but still bigger then regular. Use this to improve your system performance, but you flash it at your own risk!

Hmm
@stang5litre
Thanks for this thread. Now I can post bugs where more people can see them, and let your PM inbox have a break :good:
Has anyone had problems with the built in email client. Mine would sync my gmail account once, then when I went back to it, it would ask me to set-up the account again, as if I had never done so.
I installed K9Mail and have not had that same type of problem.

No, only MDK & SS due to aroma installer mentioned in OP. Only way for this to be FF friendly you would have to take the aroma installer and options out AMD change the updater script.

This is absolutely crazy cool!! I've never tried a rom with so many options/mods ! Good work my friend @stang5litre
And this was perfect timing too, I just finished all my classes for thanksgiving break lol gonna mess around with this quite a bit. (And if you still need a v3 tester for SS or FF let me know I'm just straight free through the weekend ;D )
Nice port stanglitre, thanks for your work to get this to our Verizon phones.
I have found something a little strange, when I click contact icon on home screen and in app drawer, it go to dialer as does the phone icon, is there a way to change contact icon to go to contact and not the dialer.
In appreciation there will be another donation coming your way.
I more question, is there a hotspot tether app that will work with this rom, I do not see one in the app drawer.

Thanks a lot[emoji39] . Let me look into this. Is this happening to everyone ? Just trying to see if its an isolated problem or not.

I have that same problem as well... I surprised I didn't notice that... Although I barely go into contacts...

Ya i just tried and can confirm that both Phone and Contacts go to the dialer. Honestly though I'm just jaw dropped at all these other features lol been meaning to try LMT launcher for a while and it's just all here
So it sounds like the vast majority of people can't get Aroma installers to work on Flashfire, but I read a couple that said on certain phones if the Aroma-based rom is placed on the root of internal SD they had luck. Did you try messing around with it much? If there are still chances then I could try but would need guidance in a direction to go lol
My apologies if this is a stupid question, but this seems to good to be true so I want to make sure that I'm reading this correctly.
So does this mean that I can flash a few zips from safestrap while i'm on 4.4.2 NK1, and start enjoying a debloated lollipop ROM and still retain safestrap??!?!

Ya I like LMT also. Its in v3 [emoji48] [emoji39] . I'll lnto the contacts thing sounds like the two codings for those apks are pointed to the same spot. As far as FF goes I had a few of my testers test with FF and keep getting black screens . That being said I have no idea if they all used ext SD or internal.

But of course. Isn't that how it should be?[emoji48] [emoji48]
You do have to flash in primary slot for lollipop though just a FYI.

I have to keep saying that I just can't get over how cool this rom is !! There are just so many unique and customizable features!
Good call choosing this and great job porting it @stang5litre!
While setting it up just the way I like it, I found a couple small bugs. Just want to share in case you're not aware.
-when opening quick connect it says update needed then force closes
-Go to: Phoenix rom settings -> Notification panel -> header preferences -> date view style = 1 behind the selection (if you select the first option, it does the second, etc)
- when enabling extra toggles -> (1)(side key panel -- recent apps button actually just functions as the menu button, I think this is a bug), (2)(smart network + network restriction panel don't display in the tiles, so they can never be selected. not sure if it's cause I rearranged them)
-I accidentally enabled, then disabled, then re-enabled the boot sounds (it was confusing because even though they worked, the preference said they were set to off), but instead of the awesome phoenix custom boot sound it went back to VZW. How can I get the phoenix custom boot sound back? (I still have the phoenix shutdown sound)
-Phoenix rom settings -> general mods --> power menu extended --> (*some are shown but none are selected, if you select then deselect any then they will no longer be shown. I was too afraid to test with reboot because I didn't want to lose that reboot menu*) (maybe these can be set to enabled because the 4/5 way boot is enabled out of the box)
Let me know if any of these need more elaboration, lol I just jotted them down over the long while I sifted through the rom.
Great rom, really appreciate your hard work man!!
