[Q] Market Movies on Rooted Device?

I know a while ago when we first found out that we couldnt watch movies from the market on rooted devices someone managed to get it working. Did we ever figure out how?
Anybody know what that one website is called? It's like "let me show you how to google that" or "teach me how to google that" or something?

I have the new market. So, just put this apk on root of SD card and install? This will install over existing Market?

Yes, just throw it on an SD card and install.
It doesn't install over top of the full Market, just the Video portion of the Market.

[Q] Possible to sideload apps?

As expected, the B&N app store is really lacking. Is it possible to sideload apps?
Do we have to wait until root and custom firmwares are out before this is available?
I inserted my card into it - it can't recognize APK files, so maybe not yet.
Perhaps we just need to get a decent browser on it and associate .apk with package installer. Don't know.

hmmmm ok, well i saw that but skipped over it
because on all my other roms/including stock, i dont remember it being an app,it would just auto-connect
and it was always a system apk as well
let me go check it out though
It was excluded because CM10 has absolutely nothing to do with ATT. Or any phone for that matter. So unless somebody kangs CM10 and adds in an app, it's going to always be as bare bones Android as you can get.
Essentially, CM10 isn't ever a bloat removed version of any phones stock ROM, because it's build from aosp source, so the bloat was never there to begin with, and likely wouldn't be added in anyways.

ATT hotspots is a stock rom system app ...
The only way to get it ...is pull the apk from a stock rom ...g

I like that app as well. That wsa the only thing I didn't like about my ROM, so I did a nandroid, restored to stock, pulled that system app, and restored my nandroid.
Lucky for you and anyone else that wants it, I just happen to have placed it in my Dropbox.
Make sure to place it in /system/app (Don't install it like a normal APK) and change permissions to rw-r--r--
You will need to manually connect to attwifi the first time if you haven't already.

I use att smart wifi from the play store, its the same thing

the system app one, like if you're at mcndonalds , will connect to it automatically (mcndonalds is one of the stores on ATnT wifi partnerships)
if you didnt have the app, you can still connect(its free wifi no password) but you would have to first open up a browers, read the agreement, and hit accept blah blah, before you can start using the wifi. again the system app skips all that and just connects you

It also skips all the payment info at some places that still charge for WiFi, so long as it's powered by AT&T. I wouldn't mind having this feature back as well, even though I'd rarely ever use it. Honestly, my cell is faster than the WiFi at any Starbucks or McDonalds around here. But I can see a use for it while traveling. Maybe download one of the stock ROM flashable zips and just extract the necessary apk, put it in /system/app and see if it will work that way. I'd try myself, but I'm a tad busy lately and already in trouble for all my downloading this month.
EDIT: Forgot to mention, the one on Play is too bloated. I don't want that junk handling all my WiFi.
Is this what you guys are looking for

Well, Mr. Useless Retort, I was searching for this very apk and was about to download it until I looked at his stats. You see, the fact that a post is a year old doesn't make a lot of difference if it has information you need. You see, Mr Useless, that's why the forum goes back many years.
Note that my reply wasn't intended for him, it was to warn off anybody else who might think about downloading this.
See how that works??
I think you can get this apk from the market, or what I do is google for apks -- especially older ones when the market updates me and the update sucks. I haven't been burned yet.

Flash Videos App for Windows Phone

I have downloaded and used an App from the Windows App Store called "Flash Videos" quite a while ago, but since then, I have had to Hard Reset My Phone.
As well as you and I know, I no longer have the App and would Love to get it back.
Does Anyone here know Where I can Download it for Free since it has been discontinued in the Windows App Store?
If Anyone also Has it in a file that I can load from the Storage Card then I would be Grateful for the Help with either Locating Where to Download the File for Free or to have Anyone Here Share the File.
Thank You to Anyone and Everyone who Can and Will Help Me with this Issue.

I too had to hard reset my phone and when I went back into the store to redownload my apps, flash video app was not available for me too download anymore. I paid for the full version like 6 dollars since I found it very useful. Now I can't get it back after the hard reset.

There should be an option to Download the File to the Storage Card especially for Paid Apps that can be reinstalled after a Hard Reset.
That's why I have reached out to the Forum. There are people who pull the Apps and make them available to be put on the Storage Card.

try logging into your Microsoft account/store, select purchase history. Usually all app you ever downloaded and installed will be here and you can still access and re-install.
hope that helps.

Your S5 is Android. And Not for this Windows Phone App that I was asking about.
But as for your S5, go download Dolphin Browser and Look for the Flash Player App that will let you Watch the videos in that web site and Many Many More.
The Both of them can readily be found. Dolphin Browser in the Play Store and Flash Player Here in the Forums under Android.
I found it but the cert is broken.
Same issue with me too. I found the xap, but it won't install either direct or through the app deployment tools I got in the WP8.1 SDK tools. Anyone with help on this?
Any update with this problem?
You need to ask people with JTAG and/or Riff box, ATF box, dolphin clip, lumia jigs hardware. They can install marketplace encrypted XAP and then make installable one with this method or @djamol one (deleted from XDA forum). I don`t know exact procedure (about how to install encrypted xap with all that hardware things), only know it can be achieved. PM me if you can and want to share the details.
Also there is another apps people like to see available again like Metrotalk and some others. As soon as you find a mate who are up to this, tell us. Looks like @GoodDayToDie will not try to mess with that.
I don't think that's possible, not even with JTAG devices. You need someone who already has it installed, and has an interim unlock with file access (Samsung, W1 or JTAG unlocked), they can repack the app. I doubt there's a way to install encrypted apps that aren't available in Store anymore.

Here is the quote from the PM with one experienced and respectful mate from here
Is marketplace XAP decompilation is possible?
It is possible, after a fashion, but not directly. I've decompiled apps before but I'm not just going to post the method on a thread like this one
Unless you have JTAG hardware, it's not possible with a Lumia. I'm still hesitant to tell you the method. It's not that I'm worried that people would discuss it widely - it's not secret in any way, and has been discussed before on the forums - there's just some things I don't want to be associated with.

[Q] Prevent OTA after root 4.4.2

Hi. I had no problem after following various threads finding out how to downgrade from 5.0 to a release prior to june 5th 2014 and towelroot but I do not wish to buy mobileodin and upgrade or ever end up with 5.0 but I can not find the answer to this anywhere...
How do I block OTA updates? I have found most devices you can change the extension of one or more files under system/app and that is how I would like to do it if possible. Thanks
PS I even tried searching Prevent OTA, Block OTA, Stop OTA, so I'm sorry if there is a thread on this already and it looks dreadfully obvious to someone else.
There are a couple of services you can freeze with Titanium Backup but I think you have to have the Pro version (which means you will have to pay) but if you are rooted, the OTA won't install successfully anyway. It will download and warn you that it's going to install, and then try to install and error out.

what services? will titanium tell me which ones? If I know what the services are and their file names, can't i just add ".bak" or anything to the file names? This is the problem, I dont know what they are called. I'm considering getting titanium anyway, so thanks for that info.

Sorry but I don't remember which services they are. But if you do some searching you should be able to find them in these threads. Titanium Backup will not tell you which ones. It's just a backup program. But it does have a lot of features and can freeze programs you don't want to run.

when you say "found many articles" do you mean you got many hits? I have gone through nearly every one of the first couple pages of results I got from that search before comming here. The only one that actually talked about the specific files did not mention the T-Mobile variant, and the files for the other variants were not the same. All the other results refer to different phones entirely, or talk about using an app. (which is not what I'm asking). There was no reason other than to be a jerk to tell me to google it. If you actually found an answer, why didn't you just tell it to me? Right, because you didn't, because it's not that obvious.

Thanks! Do you think adding ".bak" to it or something will be enough, or would it be better to just copy it to PC and remove it entirely? (I just feel more comfortable having it to put back if ever).
If I don't get a reply, I will just remove it to be sure.
