Hey guys, few days ago i started with modding my device. I've ended up on this.

I'm going to give you a detailed guide on how to make your HTC Desire X look like this.
Programs required:
1. Nova Launcher: (This is a free version of program. However, to make everything exactly as i did you will have to update it into prime version. It costs 1.99$ in store.
2. Tesla Unread:
3. MNML White icon pack:
4. Media Utilities:
5. Zooper widget:
6. Minarch for Zooper widget
Your device must be rooted in order to completely make your device like mine.
1. Install all the applications that are required for this process.
2. Go to nova settings, and make Desktop Grid 4x4
3. In Drawer section, grid size should be set to 4x5, Background Transparency to full and choose your own Drawer Style. In this section there is also a "Hide Apps" tab which i am using to hide apps that i don't want to find in the menu.
4. In Dock section you should have Enable Dock thicked and Show Divider unthicked. In dock style tab make dock fully transparent.
5. In folders tab only thing you need to do is make them fully transparent.
6. In look and feel tab make Color Theme white. Select Icon theme to be 3K03 MNML White. I wasn't changeing the icon size, but if you feel that icons are too big or perhaps too small you can do it. I've disabled the notification bar and made it fully transparent. If you have Nova Launcher prime accessing to your notification bar won't be hard since you can go to Gesture and Buttons tab and select some of them to expand notifications. I, for example, selected swipe down with two fingers to show up the extended notification bar.
7. Unread Counts should be always on. I've made numbers medium sized, light with corner radius "8"
8. Set your Nova launcher as a defult home.
Okay, we've finished the first part of the tutorial. Second part is making the widgets. It's a bit harder but no need to panic
-Long tap on homescreen and select widgets section. Go to zooper widget pro and select 4x2 widget. It will appear on a homescreen like a semi transparent widget and it says resize or tap to start. Tap on it and seelct "MinArch". There are 4 models of MinArch theme, select the one that suits you the most. Go to Widget OnTap Action and select for example HTC Alarms or whatever you like. Change the globar preferences into celcious or fahrenheit, refresh interval. That's about it for the first widget that shows us time and wheather.
-Again, Long tap on homescreen and select widgets action on another homescreen to make a calendar. Select Zooper Widget pro, and make it 2x4. Go to built in section and find a calendar that looks like mine on the homescreen. When you find it tap on it and go to layout. There will be 2 options (Series and Text). Firstly tap on series and choose the size of the month that is displayed. Secondly go to text and choose the size of the text that you wan't.
-Now make 2 widgets that are 2x1. Tap on each of them and make the barcode and the stats of the memory, battery etc. If you want to, you can change the size of them but i haven't touched anything of that.
-Now the music widget. It's not that hard really.You've downloaded the Media Utilities, long tap on free space on home screen, go to widget section and find Media Utilities. Select Media Utilities 2x2. Now click on the white square where it says Sample background and make it fully transparent. You will se on the lift side, small gray and white brick, you will have to pull the pointer all the way down and then tap to "New color". Scroll a bit down until you find "Background Color", again make it fully transparent. Now scroll all the way to the bottom and select a button skin. I've selected 2nd from bottom but it is up to you.
There are few backgrounds that i am using, you can select one of them, or make your own choise.

[Q] Where is the best place to find ICONS? + 1 more question

I use the Seraphim First Flight by the Collective (best ROM ever, reprezent!) and it uses Apex launcher.
I noticed that you can replace the dock icons so I just need to find the best place to find icon images. What resolution should I pick and what extension? (jpg, png?)
+ 1 question
I use the dedicated search button all the time (which launches the google search, I believe) but unfortunately, you have to remember the exact name of the app in order to do a search for it to show on the list.
Example: Let us say I will search for "Tapatalk"
When I hit the search button and type Tapa .. it will already show up Tapatalk on the result list.
However, when I typed "talk" it will not show it. So it means that you have to know/remember the first letters of the word in order to have good list result.
Is there a plugin or setting in search that would make searching smarter?
Thanks!

If you like free, minimalist icons that you can customize to any color, try the MetroStation icon pack in the market. The icons look like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",

"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Until I started using those, I was using icon packs from Sonny Sekhon, just search his name in the market. they cost a buck I think for each theme you want, but they look really nice and include like 560 or so icons with each theme, do most common apps are all included. Here is a screen shot with a few examples of the three packs of his that I have bought:
I don't know of anything to solve your second problem though.
Edit: forgot to say how to use MetroStation icons. You have to open their app, select the icon you want to use, them out will bring up a color picker. Select the color you want, them save it. Then go about switching the icon of the app you want by long pressing, then releasing, then hit edit, then click on the icon in the popup, then select gallery, then find the folder with the icons in them. Drag the size out fully and hit save. Every time you open metrostation again it will save your previous color, which makes it easy to make all of your icons the same color.
Edit 2: Bored, so I made a picture guide. Haha:
In metro station, find your icon
Pick the color, after selecting the color it will save and exit out of metro station
Then long press on the icon you want to change to bring up this menu
After selecting gallery and finding and selecting the icon you saved, drag out the resizing box fully
There you go!
Any more questions, feel free to ask

Hints n Tips

Just thought a little hints and tips thread may help new users,so please share any you may think will help new users,or even old users who may not be aware.I will update this post as more are added.Here's a couple from me you may or not know.
although you cannot directly edit an icons default size there is a workaround.When creating your theme,instead of adding an apps icon from your apps list,click on the plus sign at the bottom and select add image,select an icon you wish to use and click add.You can then resize this via style/scale.Remember though to assign the new icon to an app by using hotspot.
made a theme and none of your icons work,or it simply reverts back to the edit screen when selected ? remember to switch on hotspot after adding,this will prevent this.
working on a theme and not sure what colours work ? try here http://www.pictaculous.com/
Using photoshop to create wallpapers ? here's a tip to help get seamless multiple screen.This is just an example but will work with all images used for wallpapers.On my phone the resolution is 480X800 so for a three screen theme I want to create an image three times the size ie 1920X800,the height should always be the same.Once you have image you want,go into your toolbox and click on the slice tool.Then right click on the image and select divide slice.In the box that appears the bottom section select divide vertically and enter a number,in this case it's 1920 divided by three which will give three screens of 480X800.Click on save for web and away you go three seamless screens.
Some tips and hints from me
Here goes
1. When ever creating a new theme do a full export not just save the widgets as many users are finding after a re-boot all the work they have done has gone. And there is a big difference between save widget and export and they are save widget will allow you to save a widget so for ex you could make a clock once then have the same clock on 2 or more screens.
Where's export will save the whole theme. So even if you are left with a black screen after a reboot all that is needed is to reapply the theme.
2. For each everything widget added make sure no to have more then 18 hot spots as when you go back to your screen after edit items will disappear.
The work around is to add 2 everything widgets to each page 1 for the top half and one for the bottom half
3. To add extra fonts to themer place the .ttf file in MyColorScreen-themer-everythingwidget-customfonts
4. To add extra weather icon set place the weather icon folder in MyColorScreen-themer-evrythingwidget-weathericons
I will soon do a tutorial on how to make your own weather icon folders.
5. To add theme that are not downloaded from themer.
Place the theme.zip file to MyColorScreen-themer-expoted-zip
6. To get a preview of you theme in browse theme exported my themes. Just take a screen shot of your home screen and place it in MyColorScreen-themer-exported-thumbs
REMEMBER to rename the screen shot to the same name as the theme
All the best

Hi,
There's a space after the Dark Orange .zip file ("Dark Orange .zip"), that might be giving you the issue. Hope this helps!

Weather Station screen with Customisable Looks
Hi all, here's a Zooper weather station screen I've been working on for the last couple of months, I've made it for my Tab S with 2560x1600 screen but it might also work/scale on other tablets. The weather screen is one big widget and is intended for landscape use and looks best with a launcher like Nova or Apex.
This widget works and can be installed alone with Zooper, but in combination with ZW Utilities you will get an extra graph tab and a menu tab to change different settings and colors.
View attachment 3342179
Some of the available info and options
Fully works with C/F (and kph/mph) settings in Zooper.
Date works with AM/PM system settings (time stays in 24H)
Background of current weather changes with current weather type.
Feels like temperature for current weather.
Dewpoint for current weather and six day forecast.
24h barometer prediction (below pressure dial)
Sun and moon rise/set with arc and moon phases.
Current location and coordinates shown on world map.
Two weather forecast graph tabs for dewpoint/low temp/high temp/ and humidity/pressure/windspeed.
Change the weather prediction language, colors of sixteen different elements of the widget and map color.
Keep the weather condition prediction text in English, fitting and the same for the different providers or choose your local language (if provided)
Different screens and appearance examples

View attachment 3342183View attachment 3342184View attachment 3342185
Installation
The widget looks best with a launcher like Nova or Apex on a seperate home screen page without a dock, height/width margins set to none and the notification bar hidden.
The widget is quite easy to set up and only requires two programs:
Zooper Widget Pro
ZW Utilities - XDA
ZW Utilities - Play
If this is a fresh installation of Zooper Widget Pro or ZW Utilities, open the programs one time so they can make their file folders.
Unzip Weather_Station_Mokum020.zip
Copy Weather_Station_Mokum020.zw to /sdcard/ZooperWidget/Tempates/
Copy Weather_Station_Colors.zuw to /sdcard/ZWUtilities/ColorExports/
Open ZW Utilities, in Menu/Import tick: Replace current variables with imported ones, tap: Weather_Stations_Colors.zuw and exit the program.
Create a new Zooper widget (size doesn't matter) tap and hold it untill you can resize it to the whole screen.
Tap the new "empty" widget and load the Weather_Screen_Mokum020 template from the SD Card option (it will take a couple of seconds to load)
Set Widget OnTap Action to Disabled (Locked) and exit the program.
The widget should now be set up, enjoy!
Tips/Issues
When installed together with ZW Utilities, the first time it will show all tabs at once, tapping the tab buttons will switch them off.
Not all weather providers provide all the data shown on the widget exept yr.no.
Some colors can't be changed (arrows, lines, most icons)
The widget should work with automatic location but if it doesn't you can add your location manually in Zooper/Location.
You can close the menu tab while using the color picker stand out window to better see the color changes.
If you use the sliders to change the color, you have to tap (just tap, no movement necessary) the ring color selector.
It is also possible to set the exact hex values for each color in the ZW Utilities app itself.

Update: Changed Lollipop screenshot, updated status bar layout and background
Hello, I have created a home screen that looks like Android 5.0 for Android 2.3 Gingerbread using only Google Play applications that don't require root
Applications I used:
Next Launcher 3D Shell Lite, this is pretty much the only launcher for 2.3 that is customizable and supports icon packs, the lite version works in this case https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gtp.nextlauncher.trial&hl=en
Super Status Bar (This is available on Google Play too but the version there doesn't work on the Galaxy Y), the "iLlusory background" feature in this app makes your status bar transparent without root, it's like magic, it also replaces your notification center with a more modern looking one
http://gallery.mobile9.com/f/3008525
LolliPop Theme, only Lollipop theme that's available for 2.3
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.szp.akai&hl=en
Digital Clock Widget Xperia, the clock font makes the home screen look much more modern and refreshed
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sonyericsson.digitalclockwidget2&hl=en
For wallpaper I took a screenshot of a live wallpaper on my other device running ICS (the live wallpaper doesn't support Gingerbread): http://oi60.tinypic.com/2saxyf4.jpg
Guide
1. Install Next Launcher 3D Shell, I made this guide using the full version but lite will work too, all download links are above
2. Install Super Status Bar
3. Install LolliPop Theme
4. Install Digital Clock Widget Xperia widget
5. Download the wallpaper
6. Apply Lollipop theme, press the options button (left of home button) in the Next Launcher home screen and select "Theme", from there go to "Installed" and click "Apply" over "LolliPop Colored"
7. Enable Super Status Bar, go to "General" while in the app and enable "iLlusory background"
8. Change Super Status Bar theme to Honeycomb, go to "Themes" in the app and apply "Honeycomb"
9. Change your background to the one linked in this thread, download it to your phone, press the options button in the Next Launcher home screen and select "Wallpaper", swipe to the next page in the options that pop up and you will see "Gallery". Click on it and find the background you downloaded, make sure the option on the left is Potrait and drag the glowing rectangle so it fills the whole screen and press Crop. After this and going to the home screen you should see no difference in background where the status bar starts / transparent status bar illusion
10. Arrange your home screen how you want, place the widget in the top and icons below
