Did you try Kingo Root? I just got an S4 zoom last week and I rooted it fine with Kingo Root. I just had to let it run for a few minutes and allow it to restart quite a few times until it asked me to accept to root. I used Kingo Root on an S4 I previously owned and it also worked fine. I even un-rooted a few times and re-rooted and it worked fine on the S4 normal =).

i dont trust this root method.
some say its a virus.

Some old news about it did say it was a virus or that it contained some Chinese spy software (vRoot or something) but I believe they removed it or never had it, I forget which one. I just know that I never had a problem with it so far.

Think i used safe root & disable knox

I see thanks I have the AT&T SM-C105A and am trying to find a way to root

I'd be careful with the C105A AT&T version. Nobody outside of AT&T has the firmware and you cannot flash any other C105A firmware to it. On top of that is the stupid AT&T check that essentially soft bricks the phone if the check fails.

just use kingoroot and everything will be done. There is no virus in the software. they do not store your info. They just root your phone and away you go. get it from http://www.kingoapp.com/android-root/download.htm

actually you can flash the mexico Telcel firmware found at Sammobile as the mexico version is still the same model and still uses AT&T LTE service
Do some more research you will find it
Edit:
Here is the Link:
C105AUBUAND1 Sammobile link Here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/3/?download=28254 Know that Sammobile is having problems with their servers so download will be slow.
My guess would be that only the ASPN's may be different. So right dow your ASPN's from your existing firmware then if different change them back after flash.

That is the same firmware I tried to undo the soft brick (ATT unauthorized software lock), it would not flash.

i want to buy China Mobile version(G8508S) here in Shanghai and i am afraid the bootloader will be locked and this method above won't work.
mine is g850f, don't really know if I have locked or unlocked bootloader.
For information obviously it tripped the knox warranty void, but I don't care

Cool that's it's rooted already, but there's not a lot of support for the phone, no ROMs, etc.

Ditto for me... on the fence with this one. It has the perfect weight and size, I just don't want it to be an oddball version of a phone that no devs wind up supporting. I've been waiting and waiting for the Nexus 6/X but either way based on the two rumors it seems like it is going up in size which is the opposite direction I'm willing to go.
Guys wait a little, the phone was just released!

I'm interested in this device (to replace a Galaxy Note 3 Neo), however I need it fully HMP-enabled. Is it so? For app support, you can try 3C CPU Manager or 3C Toolbox, it should support your CPU 8 cores already, and show if it's HMP enabled.

Change rom will trip knox?

Hello there.
I have a SM-925I from Brazil, but I realized that this variant exists in other countries... My question is, if I change the original rom for a rom from another country, but from the same model (SM-g925I) will it trip my knox? Will i miss my warranty?
I want to install lollipop 5.1.1
Thank You
If you're going to venture into ROM changing, forget about warranty

Just root and be careful. I've rooted every device I've owned and don't care about warranty. If you're careful then you are good. Checkout ping pong root. It roots without warranty.

The only 5.1.1 version for the 925I are from the Indian version and it seems that Samsung has since held back a little with releasing it for other CSCs.
There have been a few reports of people flashing the 5.1.1 version on their 925I phones on Australia and no longer getting good 4g speeds. I'm going to wait until the Australian version of the update is released.
Having said that, if the firmware you want to flash is stock firmware produced by Samsung and is compatible with your phone variant (I.e a 925I stock firmware) regardless of CSC then flashing it via Odin should not trip Knox and should not interfere with your warranty. A couple of people here or there have stated that they've tried Knox this way but the majority (including me) have been fine.
You'll need to factory reset following changing to a different CSC if you want to receive over the air updates.
My suggestion? Wait for the Brazilian update. As for rooting, apart from blocking ads I've not missed having root at all.

Has anyone been able to get WiFi calling or VOLTE to work on the U firmware? I haven't been on it in a while.
Edit: not sure why i quoted you for this question. Lol sorry.
I have been trying to get it working as well. I wish that att would support wifi calling like T-Mobile does I only get 1-2 bars and sometimes no signal when I'm at a certain spot in my workplace and when I had the original att software on my phone I loved wifi calling, I don't particularly miss VOLTE though
Thank you so much for doing this. I was using the wrong Odin to flash.
Quick question on this. Now that I am running the U firmware, will I get OTA updates? I'm using a Cricket sim card.
I hated the AT&T firmware so much. I'm so much happier with this.

Need to flash T-Mobile firmware in order for at least wifi calling to work.
after flashing this firmware.. I noticed a huge gain in performance.
and mobile hotspot works, I run cricket unlimited, and will come in handy.
I like the clean appearance and the smooth responsiveness, I used the AT&T firmware and I used PDP to disable a ****load of bloat, but nothing like this smooth.
not to mention I'm getting updates, which I'm more happy about.
this is really nice to have.
Had anyone tried this and used on rogers?

To begin make sure you have samsung usb drivers installed. Next put your phone in download mode and open odin make sure all firmware files are in the right spot and click start wait until your phone boots into recovery mode and restarts, after that to clean up old temp files factory reset in recovery when your phone boots to the welcome screen, after that you are finished. THIS is For att and tmobile phones only unless your verizon phone is using one of the two carriers sprint won't work due to proprietary activation processes. As long as you had att unlock the phone you are fine
I bought it "factory unlocked" so I'm not sure who did it. What would happen if att didn't unlock it?
Please help me understand
I see some forums on this site that says, " G930UUEU2APEH flashes to g930a" then you have this post that says G930U firmware on SM-G930A. It seems as if one is saying to take the G930U and go to G930A and the other saying G930A and go to G930U. I thought the advantage is to go to the U and get off the A. Please confirm if this is the case. Granted then if this is the case... then, what are the advantages of going to the U? From what I understand it gets rid of the bloatware, and makes it so you can tether?
Also once I go, are there any negative reasons for me not to go from A to U?
Does this give me the current version of Nougat?
Do I get the upgrades from AT&T to keep up with future version of Nougat?
Also before proceeding to the U version MUST I first ROOT my phone?
Also MUST my phone be UNLOCKED?
Thanks in advance,

Yes to both

None, unless you like the ATT bloat.

No, you will get the U OTAs from now on.

Anyone else not able to update via OTA after unlocking and rooting? The updater just crashes on applying update step 3 of 4. And if so is there any way to get the updates back, even if it means losing root?

Ok thank you. I have been looking around and I have not yet found someone who has been successful in unlocking the bootloader on their Verizon Moto Edge+ in USA. I will keep searching.
Hope you find the solution to your problem.
Hmm, this looks promising. Just bought an unlocked S10 (Snapdragon) and will be returning it since it cannot be rooted. Thinking of grabbing the unlocked version of this phone to use on T mobile. It is the same price as what I paid for the S10, so I would only be out the $50 restocking fee. I need root, Adaway, and of course Viper4Android. As of right now, my old rooted Galaxy S4 with Viper4Android absolutely KILLS the S10 in the audio department.

Yes and yes, but there's an easier way.
When an OTA update arrives uninstall magisk (this is only temporary)
Install the OTA and make sure to not restart
Go back to magisk and install but select install to inactive slot (After OTA)
Now you can restart and you're done!
Here's the guide where I got this from
When I tried to restore the back up image for the uninstall step, it says "Stock backup does not exist". Where can I get a stock boot image? Does it have to be Racer xt2063-2 or can it be xt2063-3. This page has variants of xt2063-3, but the Google drives they're stored on have "reached their quotas" so you can't download the images. Those images being stored on a Google drive has me suspicious of motostockrom.com.
What are the variants about? That site not explaining that also makes me suspicious.
Edit: l found a stock boot image here. What is the name of the file Magisk needs to see and where do I put it?
