Help suggesting a new case. - Galaxy Note 3 Accessories

Hi everyone! Just recently got this behemoth of a phone, and it is just too beautiful to go naked bc if I dropped it, it's over. So that saying, my mom has a Galaxy note 2 and she has a case-mate POP case from AT&T on clearance for like $5, and it's a solid case. I want a case similar to this case, where if the phone landed on it's face, it won't be damaged a lot since there's enough lip on the case. This won't really be a major factor since I will be putting a tempered glass protector on it. The major thing I'm trying to find is a case where it won't eat a lot of lint if you do fit it in your pocket, and won't slip off at the corners if you do drop it! I have seen cases that is made out of just TPU claiming tight fit, but as soon as it lands, the phone goes one way and the case goes the other, and also the battery....
I have seen the spigen slim armor, and it looks solid compare to the neo-hybrid. All the other cases are too bulky, like the lovemei, or the ballistic series. Please list your suggestion, and real life photos of the case, including the lip clearance on the screen if you can so I can make my decisions Thanks a lot once again!:good::fingers-crossed:

Slim Armor is a good option if you don't want too much bulk. This case fits very snugly and won't come off unless you pill it off. It provides only modest drop protection though. If you want really good protection an Otterbox commuter or similar such as trident aegis would be better. Those cases make the phone significantly larger though.

I just got the spigen neo hybrid and it's a really nice slim case. I love the styling. Seems like it should be adequate protection for normal use. I just got it today though so not going to comment on the long term.

I've been using my note 3 naked till I got a rock joyful case. It increased the width but not the thickness of the overall feel and it's harder to remove the s-pen but it give me a safer feeling when using it without worrying if drop compared to naked!

Even I have that case it's pretty good but I don't like that plastic rim feels cheap, now using UAG navigator probably the best case for our device imo

thank you all for your answer! The urban armor looks decent but still pretty thick. The otterbox series I don't like since that's over bulking, the spigen slim armor is possibly the best case imo but I don't know how good it is until one of the guy here said it's pretty tight fit

I have one of these cases..probably the best things ever. Had one for my S4 previously, and it took so much damage! My phone is a big thicker now, but it's protected without being otterbox thick

I have both a UAG and otterbox commuter. Used to use those cheap tpu case and I thought it was fine until I dropped any bent my speaker grill.
Ever since then, I'm addicted to UAG. Beware of fakes though. I feel the otterbox a bit too heavy to use.

[Q] Nice case that DOESN'T stick like glue in pockets?

I have a casemate pop, which I happen to like everything about EXCEPT that in jean pockets, the rubber portion of it glues it into my pocket, making it impossible to pull out quickly. What's another good i777 case I could look at?
SGP cases... but expensive and lots of fake ones on eBay now.
Rearth Ringke (can't post a link because I don't have enough posts but it's rearthusa dot com)
Thin, good looking, and doesn't stick in your pocket.
Check out sgp cases, they are a little pricey but totally worth it and they keep the phone slim and keep the design... It's the only case i've liked to be honest because of the fact they dont really stick to your pockets

SGP Linear or Casemate Barely There Aluminum. The downside is that these cases are rather slick. Of course the flipside is that slide in and out of pants just fine.
I don't mind spending the money: I spend enough on this phone that a case to protect it is worth it
A lot of the SGP cases are i9100 formfactors... Do they have cutouts for the noice cancelling mics, or would I have to get crafty with a dremel?

The one I bought was for the att model, go to their site and you can find it all, I got the one that has the back cover exposed so that you can still see the galaxy SII logo and access the battery too. There was also a hole for the noise cancelling mic

I find it to be quite sticky, actually, but that's in comparison to the bare phone.
Personally, I use a generic hard-silicone/rubber case. Phone's light enough not to die upon falling and this keeps minor dings off of it. Screen's good w/ Invisible Shield. And did I mention these cover the whole back? I still don't understand why you guys leave that flimsy, plastic battery door to face the elements...
i use the casemate barely there aluminum, as far as cases go its pretty nice butat $40 its on the expensive side

Rearth cases are awesome.
I vote for the Otterbox case
I've been using ringke cases for a while and they are awesome. They do lose their firmness after maybe a year or so. But, they are cheap! Right now the Ringke slim case looks really attractive, but I don't think it would absorb the shock from bumps as well

Ultra Thin Translucent Skin

http://www.ebay.com/itm/190925052983?var=490194438302
Has anyone tried this for the Note 3? I bought something very similar in gray translucent color for my Note 2 which fit the job perfectly since I keep my phone in my front right pocket so don't need anything bulky and the design/color turned out nice. Just hoping the charger port is big enough for use with Smart Dock which was a little snug with the Note 2 one. $3.99 with shipping included from Asia.

old thread, but I came across it and figured i'd respond.
I had something just like this for my HTC One.
it was great in how thin it was. Obviously not much for drop protection, but it provided better grip and scratch protection without adding weight/size.
Only issue was that the fit was very tight, and the material is not elastic. As a result, i ended up stretching one of the cutouts slightly, and it never quite sat perfectly. I liked it anyway, and would try one again if i still had the phone. I might try one of these for my GN3.
These cases are superb. I bought several of these just in case I want to swap them out. So far though, I have only swapped it out once because of light scratches from a year of use on my S3. These cases are definitely not for drop protection. Strictly for scratch protection. They are the thinnest available. They are also not grippy. I like it because I personally hate the dust collecting silicone cases. At first I bought the black version for my black note 3, but then i bought the white/clear version of the case and I like the clear case more. The black case hides the silver accent edge of the note 3 while the white one allows that detailing to show. It also doesn't hurt that they're dirt cheap.
I bought one of these and they are super thin. I love that it barely adds bulk. But as windowmaker said, there's no grip what so ever. At least before you had some grip from the battery cover. I decided to trim out the back of mine so I have some grip at the back since the battery cover is now exposed. But still no side grip. Maybe put clear skinomi skin on the sides for better grip. But if you want thin, this is one of the thinnest out there.

I've got one. Not bad but not perfect. The fit wasn't good enough, it always looked like it was coming off on one side. Cutouts very good. Does not protect the screen or the camera in any way. I switched to Ringke Slim since and I think it's better and not much bulkier. But for the money - great buy. And the Note still looks like the Note. And the owner still looks like homo sapiens not some anal-retentive douche who spends a fortune on a lovely and stylish phone just to turn it into some Ninja-Turtle global destruction device
Does anyone have a picture of the note 3 with this case on?

I used to use these style of cases because I wanted absolute minimal size added to the phone while providing basic scratch protection.
Recently I moved to "skins"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TeStBNHqCZA
That's a skinomi wood one, and I much prefer it to those cheap 2mm cases. Not does it keep the phone slim, it provides the same type of protection. The cheap ebay cases werent going to provide any type of drop protection anyways.

Case Mate Naked Tough case

Got it when I purchased the phone. Really like it - dual layer clear case that doesn't add a lot of bulk. Let's the nice body of the Alpha show through and fits great. Will try to post some pics later.
are you thinking about this case

you say that that my case is good m8

Both cases are great. I prefer the one you posted because it's rubbery in the back and easier to hold on to. The Case Mate Naked Tough case is different. It's plastic and can easily slip out of my hands. It is sturdy; I just prefer a TPU one.
I have the extended battery kit from Samsung and have had trouble finding a case that will fit.
It looks like the bumper on the Case-Mate Naked Tough is on the inside. Can it be used indepedent of the back cover of the case? (Does the bumper fit well enough to stay on?).
Just looking for some glass and aluminium protection.
link frome ebay? thanks
I am wondering also.
I have the Charcoal Alpha with the Case Mate Naked and it's beautiful with case on.
Nice clear and clear Bumper nice buttons.
Want the 2500 mah battery but not sure if case will fit.
Will try to put 1.3 mm filler inside back of case to see.....
Maybe 4 quarters or 1.3 mm coins etc.
Let you know results.
Actually the Alpha with Extended Battery is about 8 mm thick I am told.
A dime is about 1.3 mm thick so if I can put
6 dimes in the back and still get the Casemate back and bumper to fit or stretch to fit we can be fairly certain it will work for Extended Version.
I don' t think the bumper fits too well by itself.
Edit: I do not think the Casemate Naked Tough will fit the extra 1.3 mm thickness from the Extended Battery.
I do not have the extended Battery but used a few dimes ( 1.3. mm thick lol) to see the effect;
The bumper remains in place but the clear backplate will not close completely.
This is a great case IMO not slippery and adds very little bulk to Alpha.
I wonder if this " rubbery" case Silicone I presume can s-t-r-e-t-c-h about 1.3 mm to
fit over extended battery Kit?

Two cases the best money can buy.
The one is ZIZO case from amazon, it looks awesome, very grippy and comfortable to hold.

The Spigen are nice.
im not advertising that, i have them both.
i dont know what kind of zizo case you had but my look and feel good quality, i guess we dont have the same taste
zizo is ugly as F***, u could always buy CAT phone if you want this military drop test bull****
like i said, everyone got his own taste.
i have bought this too, a glass protector (i recommend it)

I had the same ZIZO Bolt case you have pictured the for the LG V10 and I believe Note 5 and they were built with real cheap feeling materials. It's a cheap case and it feels like a cheap case (low quality).
Sporty looking, Yes. Cheap Feeling, Yes.
You may like it but I did not.
Damn that first case is ugly as heck lol.. I don't think I'll ever understand the appeal in cases with all sorts of designs and protruding pieces on them.. No offense OP but that first one reminds me of like a manly version of a womens phone case.. You know the ones with all those dumb rhinestones all over them xD
Then again im probably a boring old minimalist.. Id take these two cases any day. The only thing I dont like is the belt clip cases diamond pattern.

the otterbox case for thes7 is crap it just feels cheap and nasty.
i had a zerolemon case on my s3 and 5 and they were much better

SICK CASES! DAMN! I'll get these once my S7 arrives this week. I wonder where can I avail here in the Philippines. Pinoys? Any ideas?
have to agree with the majority. zizo case is a big thumbs down. the spigen is good i used that model on my nexus 6p. im more a fan of the ringke fusions. the front still has a raised lip but doesn't overlap the front edge as much so is more tempered glass screen protector friendly
Better change the name of this thread... I don't like it too. I'm happy with my UAG case

Review: SUPCASE Unicorn Beetle Series Premium Hybrid Protective Frost Clear Case

Let me introduce to you my absolute favorite case, not just for the S8, but for many Smartphones that I have owned over the years. Long before I became a fan of these cases I was in love with the (UAG) Urban Armor Gear cases, that was until they didn't support a new smartphone that I had purchased. Like many of you I went out seeking a case that I liked, often buying a dozen cases or more since they were relatively cheap and easy to return thanks to Amazon, but once I found this gem I knew my search was over.
Supcase is now the first brand I go to for a case whenever I get a new smartphone and I was devastated when they didn't make one for my HTC 10 so I was forced to pay more for a similar product, Incipio's Octane case. The main reasons for me choosing this case over other similar cases are the look and feel, but the price is very nice as well. Compared to other similar cases I find the grip to be perfect and it doesn't grip to your pocket either. It seemingly adds no bulk (probably the thickness of a nickel on both sides and back) and it literally kept me from taking my S8 back and exchanging it for the S8+ due to it feeling too skinny in my hand. With this case on it has a very ergonomic feel and fits perfect!
The buttons are not any more or less responsive than a naked S8 and are easily found... and so is the horrible Bixby button unfortunately lol. This is a hybrid-type case with the edges around the case consisting of a very durable shock-absorbing TPU that is molded to a hard polycarbonate backing. Drop protection is excellent and exceeds military shock standards which comes at no surprise. It has raised edges to protect your screen when placed on a flat surface and the cutouts are sizeable enough to fit any plug you may have.
Overall it's a very good case.
http://a.co/5ldVaTJ (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XHFP7P3)
EDIT: Just to clarify on the thickness because some people say it 'looks' bulky... It only adds roughly 2mm of thickness to the sides. Of course the corners are roughly 4mm, but that's where you want more protection anyway. This is FAR from a bulky case IMO. For those in the states, like myself, 2mm is almost halfway between 1/8th and 1/16 of an inch.

It's not bulky at all. Don't knock it til you try it. As I said in my review it only adds about the thickness of a nickel to the sides. It's only $12.99 on Amazon.
EDIT: I just measured the thickness and it's halfway between 1/8th and 1/16th of an inch or approximately 2mm of thickness that is added to the sides.
This is always what I start with as my go to case also. It may not look the best but the in hand feel and grip is perfect. Wish they had a clear back version.

They do, but the style is different I personally don't mind the frosted back and it's not a fingerprint magnet like the clear cases which would arguably look worse lol. It also does a great job covering up any scuffs and scratches that happen over time... something the clear ones simply can't do.
