[Q] Samsung Galaxy S2 cannot detect SIM card - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I always get that grey icon of a sim card with exclamation mark & cannot make any calls. Restarting the phone doesn't work, neither does removing the sim card & putting it back. But imei works and the sim card works aswell . Tested it in an other phone.
Is there any possible way to solve this?

Maybe your Sim-card slot is unclean? Try to clean out it by compressed air or degrease. And also try to wipe chip on your SIM card.

done
Try downloading hck tool

Try usin a small paper sheet on the sim to push it down.. It helped a fren o mine!

[Q] Anyone recognize this phone?

I am trying to fix this for a friend of mine, it is a clone of a Samsung Note 2. I know it is a chinese clone but I have no idea of the manufacturer or where to begin looking. My friend like a dumbass decided to try and flash a ROM to it and it semi-bricked the phone, it does connect to my PC for a few seconds and I have looked at the thread of how to unbrick a MTK 6598 chip phone but without knowing exactly which manufacturer this phone is from, I have no idea where to begin.
I think it might be a Star S7198 or something like that but I am not 100% sure. So, anybody have any ideas? If it helps, in the close up of the sim card and SD card slot, the sim card is on the left and SD card on the right. The sim card slots are stacked, it looks like a regular sim card on the bottom (#1) and a micro sim on top (#2). Other than the N7100 listed as a model number there is no identifying information anywhere that I can see.

Jiayu S2 Advanced, both SIM cards not detected?

Hi,
Believe me - I tried all the things I found searching the web - this is my last resort..
I have Jiayu S2 Advanced 2/32GB, It stopped detecting SIM cards after system update.
Original Adroid was in version 4.4.2,
After this happened I tried to change ROM with the ones available on needroom portal, as well as Jiayu website and Jiayu.es
Tried to upload ROM with SPflash and CWMRecovery - I went through different 4.4.2 version and 4.2.2 - everytime ROMs were working fine, but SIM cards are not detected.
At the same time I observed that all 4.4.2 Android version did not even notify about SIM cards missing - only 4.2.2 did it.
IMEI address is correct (the same for both SIM cards) - tried to overwrite it anyway with the same numbers - but still the same...
I'm not an expert, but I think radio file is included in ROM package when flashing with SPflash? If not - where can I get it and how to upload it to the phone? Any other ideas?
Attached screenshots from system set up and Mobileuncle Tools - on the SIM 1 I see some signal strength changing and Radio is ON, no matter if card is in or not - status of those doesn't change if I put SIM card in.
ONE MORE THING!! Just found out - when telephone starts up there's standard info 'Slot 1: No SIM card detected, Please check if SIM card is ready' and the same message for SIM2, but when I clear messages and then on working phone I take out SIM card from Slot 1 and put it back 1 second later I get the same message again 'Slot 1: No SIM card detected, Please check if SIM card is ready' - this make me believe that SIM actually is detected, but somehow not recognized! The same thing happens if I "play" with Slot 2. Please help!!
Did you manage to fix it? I am having trouble myself; The SIM cards are detected, but cannot connect to the network. The IMEI was blank after a couple of ROM flashes, but I have restored it. Still, no luck... Probably the efs folder or something like that is corrupted, but I have no backup.
Same issue in Jiayu S2

Can't Call after Installing CM 13 on Samsung Galaxy S3 SCH-i939

Hi,
I recently flashed CM 13 from 7-20-2016 onto a Samsung Galaxy S3 SCH-I939 and everything works great...except for calling. It shows "No SIM card" on the Settings. I tried several methods including:
Reinserting the SIM card
Cleaning the SIM card
Try the SIM card on another phone (without success)
Put a piece of paper on top of the SIM card to help connectivity
Use ADB to replace the nv_data.bin with nv_data.bak to (possibly) restore the old radio information
What can I do?
Thanks in advance

2nd sim not working~HTC

Hlo...I am having HTC Desire dual sim I was trying to add the "phone" apk to make it look like material designed so I changed it in the system partition but when I reboot my device I noticed that the app that I changed is only for single sim variant and then I replaced my old APK back but when I again restarted the phone I came to a problem that my both SIM were not working. then I factory reset my phone and after that only sim 1 is working and when I try to put SIM card in sim 2 it shows no sim... But when i take it out... It shows me the message says please insert the sim 2 properly which means the hardware is working fine... Any help would be appreciated...
