First, That is not an Downgrade,it's an Update xD
Second: Yes,you can update your phone to Android 4.1.2 (or 4.3,4.4 etc. using the Various Guide you find in General or Developer Question)

I know what I wrote I am asking if I can downgrade to 4.0.4 from 4.1.2?
Means what I want to say is that is it possible to downgrade to ICS from 4.1.2 JB?

I believe you can but what's the point? More battery life isn't worth the risk of the insane chip sudden death syndrome.

Look I flashed 4.0.4 BTU on my phone but then I was getting no signal no gsm connectivity
I guess I had a corrupted IMEI

If you do weird things to your phone then you will break it. Efs v2 will not be read by 4.0 firmware, there is no way to downgrade.
Questions go in the q&a forum. Report your own post and ask a moderator to move it.

you have to flash 4.1.2 or newer to retreive your imei back

I think there is some way, but you would need a backup of EFS v1 (if im not mistaken). Basically its a long and tedious process and i know that JB is complete crap on the SIII and that ICS ran alot better, but i dont think its currently worth the effort to downgrade, just wait for KK.
Also sudden death only affects 16GB variants.

What about for example if I'm using slim kat 4.4.2 right now, is it possible to downgrade back to stock rom 4.3 by flashing it? I remember I did it before, is it risky like this scenario?

You can flash a 4.3 rom over slim kat. Just do a clean install. I have been hopping between cm11 and stock 4.3 for quite some time and have not had issues.

[Q] De-branding Polish T-mobile

Hi
I am a n00b in android (I used iOS devices since 2007).... So don't jump on me...
I bought White SGS 3 on free market. It has polish t-mobile branded ICS. Is there a way to update it to unbranded Jelly Bean without losing warranity?

No, anything you do will involve either flashing another ROM or rooting the phone, either of which will invalidate the warranty. The good news is you can unroot and flash back to the original ROM at any time if you need to return the phone.

OK. One more question then.
I found a wiki page dedicated to my model. Which guide should I follow taking under consideration than Poland got official Jelly Bean?

Still no jelly bean for me? :(

I have unbranded galaxy s3 i9300...
Still running android 4.0.4
baseband version: I9300XXLF
Any idea why there is no OTA jelly bean for me yet?
Also, any idea if it should be even available for me ?
Updates are dependent on many factors, including where you live.
Ask Samsung directly
Or root and take control.
Good luck
When it comes to rooting - I'm a total rookie..
Where I can ask samsung about it ?
It's not difficult to root s3
Take an hour, a pc
Search s3 thread for root kit, it's all explained and semi automatic there
Odin is included in above and will be used to root in seconds.
Make sure you understand what you will be doing, follow steps properly. An hour should be enough to read and do rooting
If you need to ask Samsung, go to their website, check contact us section for your country.

press thanks if I helped you
relatively, you can go to sammobile.com and download the latest official jb firmware..
but take not that the updates also depend on the region are currently in.. so if let's say you download the Polish JB firmware, and you are not from Poland... then you won't have to get OTA updates.. you have to update your phone manually
Cheers!
You don't have to root to flash the latest software version...

If you are rooted try this http://www.jayceooi.com/2012/06/11/...laxy-s3-with-clockworkmod-recovery-cwm-video/
Backup your apps using titanium backup. Save the file in your desktop. Upgrade to jellybean. Restore your apps.

You need to be rooted to use Titanium backup and as you said before you are not rooted.
lol ya guys are so hilarious! there are tons of custom Roms 99.9% bug free e.g Wanam Rom , Indie. Mike. I'm running the latest 4.1.2 Wanam rom. it's clean as a whistle no bugs what so ever. Try this mate rather trying something which isn't tried here.

He will be missing lots of things!!!!!!! If he keep himself restricted!
Conclusion everyone got their own choice
You have to remember that despite this being XDA Developers forum we have a lot of new users that are somewhat lost and think this is a Samsung update forum .

You have 3 options:
- stick with original roms updated through ota or kies. You keep your warranty
- use official rom's from other countries. Risk of problems is as low as sticking to original when reading carefully
- use aftermarket firmwares which have different features.
Now decide on that, then proceed =)

[Q] Can I revert to StockROM?

Hi everybody,
I want to know something.
I'm thinking about flashing Samsung's unofficial ROM with Android 4.2.1.
But, If I flash the 4.2.1-Firmware, can I revert to StockROM?
I heard many things about another Bootloader in this ROM, which is blocking a downgrade... Is it right??
Greeeetzz..

Lots of people have flashed the leak, then gone back to a 4.1 because the leak has too many problems. Yes you can go back to stock if you wish, read the sticky thread in general for guides and video on how to do it.
As always, backup everything first - especially your efs partition.
Asking which ROM is better will just get your thread locked, go try a few ROMs for yourself - keep the results secret.

Wow, is it really buggy? Then I would stay at CyanogenMod..

yeah its really buggy! alot of FC and battery life is not as good as the 4.1.2 official one!

Is this a possibility??

The Boost Mobile version of the Galaxy s2 has an official update to Android 4.1.2 Jellybean, is it possible to modify the tar file from that update package to be compatible with our AT&T SGH-i777 models?? The upgrade tool can be gotten from Samsung's website and then can be installed on the computer, during the install process it extracts the tar file update along with other needed stuff to install to the phone through Download Mode. I really hope this is possible as I would love to have a close-to-stock version of Android 4.1.2 Jellybean for our device, any help/feedback about this would be greatly appreciated...

This is the DEVELOPMENT forum. Not Q&A. Wrong forum. Plus, why would we want to use Boost's version off their S2, when we could grab 4.1.2 from the AOSP (already done) ? That makes no sense whatsoever.

To answer your question is because our device doesn't have an official update for Android 4.1.2 Jellybean, and this would be as close as we could get with some modifications to it, is it me or does it seem like people aren't interested in the question I asked, cause it seems like people are just being negative about it...
