i had a bootanimation in bin format and was easy to replace. when i type adb remount it shows a error, no such directory found. maybe i am doing a lot many things wrong.. so will be very thankfull for a details on how to change my bootanimation using ur zip files. thanks. and cool animations!

cp command output gives:
cp: not found. Is there no cp command in android?
Found it!
In linux you can also use "cat" command. It is almost the same.
One more thing. I thought it would eliminate the Samsung "galaxy" animation, but it's ok. Good Work!
OK. cp is from busybox then.
For disabling the stock logo, try to delete /system/bin/playlogo

ok so i was pretty bored so i just looked trough almost whole xda for nice boot animations... so heres some, btw i think some of these are too big to our screen so if somebody could resize them it would be nice (i dont even know if the rezising is possible... BUT anyway)

How to Install
1) Download the zip file for the animation you like (The attached zip files).
2) For any roms other than froyobread, rename the downloaded file to bootanimation.zip and copy it to your phone's sd card.
3) Now in your phone using some file explorers (which have root access, for example root explorer) copy the file from your sd card to system>media folder.
Note: There will be a file with name bootanimation in system>media folder, please replace this file in the previous step.
4) Now restart your phone and enjoy!!!!
For Froyobread users...
In step 2) you will have to rename the downloaded file to bootanimation_cm6 and then make a copy of this file and rename the new copy to bootanimation_cm7. Now copy these two file as explained in step 3
Now also if you are not able to use the animation please feel free to contact me....I will help you as far as I can !!!!

Rename it to bootanimation.zip, store it to sdcard, then use root manager and replace existing bootanimation.zip in system/media and set permission

Hmmm, did you overclock your phone? Anyways I resized the images to match the size of the original boot animation and used the desc.txt from it. Now it plays very smooth here. I have attached it, so you might give it a try.
Note: This is still the work of sandy4everyone, I'm not taking any credit I just resized the images a bit.

No they are 320X480....I was not knowing that size of mini was 240x320...was thinking it is same as my x8.....
Anyway I have attached a re sized file of clouds for mini.....Since I am not having a mini I haven't checked it in phone...but in animation preview software its working good....Hope it works fine for you.....

Hey guyz i have ported the Modern warfare 3 boot animation avalaible for various smartphones.Now you can have it on your galaxy 5 as well.
How to
1) Download the boot animation from this link (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=CT3ND1C8)
2) copy it to your SDCARD root (copy as it is please do not extract)
3) Use root explorer to paste this file in System/media folder (remember to mount as r/w)
4) reboot and enjoy.
I am willing to port many boot animations if my work gets acknowledged so please hit thanks button if u like my workd and do post with any requests of boot animations to be ported.

You need a custom rom to do this and also need to name it 'bootanimation' and rename the default one 'bootanimationOLD' (or similar) for it to use the custom one?

Yes it is. Its an aroma installer. Just read instructions when u flash it. Right now though apparent ly u guys have different mount points for ur boot ani so it might not work until I put out v6

If it freezes pull the battery. If ur phone doesnt have a battery then hold the opwer button for 20 seconds. Aroma freezes sometimes

hi i made my own boot animation (no sound) from a clip of superman... i think lol but im not sure how to get it onto my phone... any advice?
ive tried copying it to /system/media/ with a root explorer and with the note2 tool kit but nothing so far.
i figured maybe ask... i did email you earlier but am far too daft to wait lmao
