[Q] Optimus L7 II Firmware question - LG Optimus L3 II, L5 II, L7 II, L9 II

Hello!
I was going to install a firmware for this phone (p712) with KDZ from this web.
I'm from Argentina, but I was just wondering what are the differences between the v10C and v10D.
I know the v10C comes with the knock application, but what about the v10D?
I got my phone with the v10B early this year, but I couldn't update with FOTA because it is rooted.
Thanks in advance.

I''ve updated my rooted LG OTA three times without any problem.

It tells me that the update couldn't be done because it found that it's rooted. Maybe it's my phone company that wont let me update.
I rooted it with framrooth 1.9.1.

I remember seeing a post here saying that even after unrooting, the update process noticed the rooting tracks so it didn't perform the update.
Maybe you'd better install CWM before unrooting.

George, you probably don't know this device. It doesn't have any custom ROM yet. Hence the OP's question.

I have already tried unroot and try to update, but doesn't work.
The CWM for this phone is very buggy and can cause soft brick sometimes.
There is no custom roms, only some mods or full KDZ update.
Seems that you are talking about a different phone, and new LGs can only update by FOTA (or kdz of course).

So don't update until you clean all of the root trace. For now, I think it doesn't have much different whether you update or not.
In case you are having problem with your device and want to do KDZ update with firmware stock, you can download here.
I know that your LG Optimus L7 II is newer than mine.
Just keep in touch with this site or you could search anywhere else so that you'd be able to update your device by FOTA.
GOOD LUCK.

have the same model, and currently in Stockholm, but I am unable to check for OTA... dont know why...
I also received the OTA update, however it won't install. After reboot I get a "Software update failed" message. Any ideas?
I don't know what's wrong with my Razr, but I can't get the update to install. I unrooted, no go. Wiped it, still no go. Wiped via recovery, the update is still failing. What the fark?
Downloaded and update the phone.
Firstly, I have noticed that the update is only downloading via Wifi and not via data network. Not clearly sure why.
Anyways, will post later on the new performance after this update. Hopefully the random reboot problem would be rectified(fingers crossed!!!!!)..

[Q] Simple root method for P769

I am trying to root my L9 (P769) since I cannot get the official 4.1.2 update. Called T-mobile and asked them to send me the email on how to do it and never got it. So I tried this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2173465 and this method http://www.androidrooting.com/how-to-root-lg-optimus-l9-p769/. Used "rootchecker" and got "Sorry! This device does not have proper root access". Any one have a video or a simple one click guide I can follow. Tried both methods and I am basically back to square one.

Don't be lazy. Look around this forum. There are 3 ways to root. 2 of them are very very easy.
@creepinm3
You should try to update to JB first (without root). And then try too root it with LGPwn.apk. It's very easy.
Upgrade by one of these methods
- offline flash kdz (no need to root, just flash kdz) or
- OTA or
- LG PC Suite to upgrade your phone firmware.
Don't know why you cannot get the official 4.1.2 update, t-mobile V20f is out a few days.

The thread flashtool 2014 easiest way to flash...those are the easiest directions to follow you are gonna find...if thats too hard for you to follow then my advice is for you to stay stock until you get some knowledge under your belt...not to be rude but this is the process you will have to follow if you brick your g2...so if you cant do it how are you going to fix after a bad flash?

Guys you will get a security or certification errror as bump is using the old signature. Bump may still work if we can grab the new signature. I hope that they didn't changed anything about the security. So till now you might have to downgrade bootloader but its risky.

Any idea on how to do it manually?i would be willing to risk my g2 as it is payed off and im getting g3 friday...will autorec still successfully downgrade bootloader?
can someone check the kernel source to see if the D801 kernel also has support for the D803 ? The D803 code has not be released at all, while this code has been up for weeks. Moreover, D803 has usually been referred to as D801.

You can see the G3 thread related to that. Autorec may still work but I cant guarantee anything. I will see it later when I have on my D802 the official lollipop kdz. But by then there might be already a good method to get succesfully into recovery with maybe updated signature for bump or something else without downgrading bootloader to kitkat.

that is what people pledged for root! and you did that! good job! that can be yours, not bad for some time spent doing what you love to do
Amazing! Success from this user!
Thank you so much!
Many thanks for this successful root of the VS990.
There could have been no better way to log in to XDA after what was the longest hiatus I've taken from checking in on root than to have immediately seen the "paying and praying" for root thread reopened and some 11+ pages of discourse including the unexpected announcement ( very humbly also) that root was achieved.
I almost shat, coming from a long year tied to the Verizon Note 4 which was a great phone except being tied to Verizon keeping it mostly locked up and with temp root not fully doing it for me making it frustrating. I moved on to the V10 thinking foolishly that root would be a lock being that I had seen many LG models rooted ( yes poor ASSumption I know this). Then when finding out that I was wrong, though not surprised, I was seriously disappointed and discouraged with the possible rooting of this phone.
Today however I am pleasantly surprised, very grateful, more than impressed and happy to follow through on my pledge for root.
PayPal money on its way to you tungkick. Thank you for sharing your hard work.

in order to permanent remove the message, go to root/cust folder and delete every file and folder from there (all content)
the message will disappear and wont ever come back after a reboot that is
please note that you need root permission for this so you either get the firmware rooted and use a file manage to delete content or delete it from TWRP file manage in recovery

I'm looking for exactly the same O2D KDZ as I did the same as OP and don't want to lose my guarantee by rooting.
Besides these annoying errors, 10b seems more stable than 10d.
How to find this KDZ on LG's servers?
Thanks!
I searched the web for a long time and tried some tools to find the v10b O2D Germany kdz but unfortunatly without success
I would be very happy if somebody could help us to find the kdz! :fingers-crossed:
