This fix it will work only on rooted devices.

Unfortunately on android 4.4.2 greenify don't work to some devices.
And google+ it will reactivate by him self.
Is a common problem find it after updating to android 4.4.2

If you have Google+ as a system app, then you need to either remove it and install from the Play Store so Greenify can hibernate it best or get the Greenify Donation package that allows hibernation of /system apps.

Not every user has money, some of them are under 18 years, with no bank account and more. This is another free alternative.
PS if they are on xda, i almost sure everyone has rooted the phone/tablet

I gave a free and a paid solution. Not everyone has the ability or $ to buy apps, but sometimes, depending on your needs, it might be the only option to get everything working how you want / need. Just the way it works.
And no, not almost everyone has their device rooted here. It's pretty common, and probably a much higher % here vs other forums, but definitely not like as high as you are assuming.
Here's an even easier option if you don't use the app at all, aren't rooted. and are on anything that has JellyBean or higher - disable it in Settings / App Manager.

Also try clearing the cache of the app in the Application Manager in Settings. Some users say the cache can get out of hand and mess things up - like 100s of MBs. You can also try uninstalling any updates of the app as most people that report this problem only have it tied to certain updates and rolling back or installing a different version of it helps. Also, make sure the location reporting feature is unchecked if issues persist as that can be another thing.

My phone is very slow. Please help!!

Hi all,
I bought my neo v last week and it was brilliant for 4-5 days. But nowadays the phone response very slow. When I come out of any app the icons take time show up. Earlier it happened only when I came out of games like temple run. Now I've uninstalled it. Now even when I came out if messaging or camera, the icons take time to build.
Sometimes during a call incoming, it takes long time to show the contract details.
Should I do something to check if everything is fine with the phone. I really doubt it is the speed of a 1 ghz processor. Also the ram has only around 50 mb free even only music player is running.
I've installed avira, which I suspect could be the reason for this slowdown. Im unable to uninstall either.
Could someone please help me with these for a android new comer? Please let me know if u needed more details to help me out.
Sent from my MT11i using XDA
Avira could be the cause, is it installed from market?
Find it Play or the phone's manage application screen to uninstall.
If it is still that slow then try a master reset, anyway it is just 4-5 days' thing to lose.
use superchager v6

Thanks. Im thinking of the reset as the final option if nothing else works. Manage applications can't uninstall avira. It says uninstall faulted. Will try thru play and let you know soon.

Yes I've now uninstalled needless talk and power managers. It's getting better. But still I've only around 75 mb ram free. Most of the used part is occupied by system services and the software installed by se lyk liveware manager and data monitor. Any suggestion to stop them from unless needed? Anything other than rooting the device?

If you want to stop the bloatwares, you really need to root. You can freeze them or uninstall them permanently, just make some back ups. Have you tried resetting it? I mean factory settings reset? You should try it. Dont install battery savers, task killers and antivirus. It may slow down your phone and eats up your battery. Its better to restart your phone daily to free ram and reset it. If you have done everything but it still becomes slow, contact your phone dealer. You just might have yourself a factory defect phone
like what other said, root your phone or better yet, use custom roms. those bloatware is eating your ram thats why your phone is sluggish. as pandemic said use v6 supercharger to handle the memory.
It is a primitive sort of advice but if u don't want to root your phone...then try auto memory manager and set a parameter to autokill background processes...the processes u don't want to be killed can be whitelisted.
And try some kind of startup manager to prevent unwanted apps from launching by their own...but even then some of them would initialize bcoz of other events...that's where auto memory manager comes to play.
But last advice...its really a very good idea to root your phone to gain full control...service centres really don't care if you are rooted or not unless you unlock the bootloader.
Edit: am not sure if startup managers require root or not...it would have been stated in the app description.

I hope somebody can give me some advice on this cos it's driving me potty, I keep getting notifications on my phone and they are in chinese (see screenshots), clearing them is no problem but I'd like to know if there's any way of blocking them, it's not a text or email, just a notification and a little picture of a star at the top of my screen, any suggestions welcomed thanks

The notification appears because you have installed an app with airpush advertisements in your phone.
Install this and do a scan on your phone: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...DEsImNvbS5icm9zbWlrZS5haXJwdXNoZGV0ZWN0b3IiXQ..
Then uninstall the aplication that came out with the result and rate developer with 1 star on google play. (this usually gets the developer to react, if alot of 1 star ratings are received)

Try "addons detector". However that's not a generic ad so it may not detect anything. You just have to go through your recent installed apps and running processes to figure out which app is the culprit.

when you get the notification Spam don't remove it yet:
Settings > under system tap on {} Developer options > check USB Debugging
connect the phone using a usb to your computer
open adb shell
Code:
adb shell dumpsys notification
copy the output and save it to a text file, post it here
i'll tell you which app is spaming.
I FIXED MINE!!
the KEY: notification monitor function in addons detector
leave it on and wait a day or so till you get the notification
I used to get bunch of Chinese ads
addon detector showed me exactly which program caused it
it was a hacked version of game I have downloaded... got rid of it and the ad was gone...
thanks guys

Free up some memory till we get root

If anybody else is having issues running out of memory before we get root, here's what you can do.
Go to Settings>Apps, scroll to all, and see which ones you can Disable.
I haven't had any issues since I did that.
Also, ART has given me a lot of issues. If you don't know what it is then your fine.

Yeah, the Sprint stuff we're stuck with til we get root/unlock. If Sprint/LG stays true to form, we won't even be able to remove bloat until we get unlock.
I'm a minimalist as far as my phone, so I have very few apps and widgets. Im always modifying things to make stock better.
It amazes me though that we have 3gigs of memory and it easily goes down to 500mb. That's when I start having issues and why I posted this.
I don't even use FB or G+.
Can't wait for root/unlock to see what this phone is really capable of.

Actually I've gotta give it up to Sprint/lg for actually giving us the ability to remove about 95% of the bloat. The very few that I actually couldn't uninstall I just hid. May not be perfect, but an effort was made to allow us some control, and that's a great start. Hope to see more of this in the future. [emoji106]

I hadn't thought to run ART, but I decided to try it out. It's actually super smooth for me, no issues aside from Pandora, but I fixed that. No weird freezes or reboots like I had on my Note. The only thing that hangs slightly is Media Browser, but it's usable.
If only we had Xposed for ART. And root... good things come in time though.
I have been using an app for a few years now with some pretty good customization. Fast Reboot Pro. There is also a lite version. It works great for me. You can decide which apps it handles and if it will free memory when you unlock or lock your phone. Also a widget to free up memory when you need a quick boost, which is the way I use it.

I had no issues with ART for about 2 weeks. Then one night I went to sleep woke up and some apps as well as some games started to act very funny. They would load then crash out the Facebook app itself would hang forever and never work yet the night before everything was working fine. I went back to dalvik and I've had zero issues since that time. ART was nice minus the issues I had I would love to keep using it.

If you have the donate version, after installing it, go to Xposed/modules and click the checkbox for Greenify and reboot. Once rebooted, go to SETTINGS>SECURITY>Device Administrators and enable Greenify. Then go to SETTINGS>Accessibility and enable Greenify. If any other dialogs pop up asking for allowing Greenify, allow them also.
Then open Greenify, click the menu button and choose Experimental Features and enable greenifying system apps and any other options.
Then on the main screen, choose the apps you want to Greenify.
That is all.

I Don't have paid version. I am inquiring about the apps ability to hibernate system apps before I Buy it.
And I have a Galaxy S5 running lollipop so xposed is out of question since its requires deoxed rom (And I am running Stock ROM)
What I really want is an official explanation or confirmation from the developer himself, if his app is capable of hibernating system apps without Xposed or removing and installing system apps as user apps.
As someone else pointed that xposed is necessary to enable experimental features, i did not want all that stuff so I decided to uninstall system apps and install as user apps.

Android 4.4.2 rooted custom rom keeps crashing. Need help

To make typing easier, I will upload pictures for the specs.
I rooted my Samsung Galaxy tab 4 t230nu around a year ago, and I also put an overclock kernel on it. PLEASE note that the ROM and kernel I used to root this tablet was made specifically for the model tablet I am using. Note also because It worked great up until recently, when it has started to crash randomly, IMO suggest that it's not a compatibility issues with the Rom. It doesn't crash very frequently, i would say maybe once or twice a week. I am not sure if it is a out of memory issue or a background app causing it to crash. I will also upload the last kmsg. This last time it crashed, i was using Firefox beta. Thanks for taking the time to read this.
The custom rom and kernel I am using can be found via the below links.
ROM:

Overclock kernel:

Thanks again.
This might sound bad but i think your putting to much pressure on the cpu by overclocking it. To fix this go back to stock rom

I thought the same thing but this crashing issue has only started in last 4 months. I can stress test the heck out of cpu all night and it runs fine. I've tried several top cpu benchmark and stress test apps from the app store.
Might be malware. Try running a virus scan

Could be the rom is not compatible or wrong bootloader

Just to double check on the cpu stress theory, I let a stress test run all night, about 9 hours scaling test, and it did fine. See attached image.
Use malwarebytes

I scanned for malware and found nothing.

Not that i could tell but here is process list at the time of crash.

I couldn't tell directly which process is cause the issue but if you have titanium backup, backup your apps and data to a cloud storage
or a sd. Then perform a factory reset or flash the rom again

I still have a feeling that an app is eating my memory. Several of the times it crashed, i was using Firefox beta or it was on in the background. Is there any way to prove this or check memory logs? Or if there is a debugging app or something I can install that will provide more in depth logs?

Beta means the development stage. for people to try out the product and detect any bugs. Try using Firefox(not the beta version) or the development version just use the normal version or reinstall the app. Or you could try force stop. If none if this solutions work try to see if you can find a task manager or process Explorer to locate the app or disable it completely. Since you said something about crashing in the backgroud use a 3rd party app like nova launcher instead of the stock launcher. Post the results and press the thanks button if this helped ☺
Btw if you're up to it do a nandriod backup of of your device and go back to stock without root. See if that makes a difrence or you could delete root on your rooted tablet and see if it crashes. Since your running a modded rom it probably has some serious bugs in it.

Thanks I will give nova launcher a try. I have both versions of Firefox on my device. I've noticed issues with both. Also the rom I am using is mainly a debloated version of the stock rom. It actually runs and loads much faster than stock. Its also smaller by at least 800mb. Is there any app that i can use to monitor my ram so that i can tell if that is the problem? I have android assistant but its not what im needing.

Thanks, i installed it. Every so often, I have to go through my apps and force close many of them I'm not using. Need a way to force close using task manager. It seems to help when I keep apps closed.

Ok sorry you got dragged around. To find out what is causing it is a simple logcat. This will tell you just what is happening and is the go too tool for bug hunting.
As it is only a few times a week. I would put money on you being right. FF could easily. Be the cause as the mobile app is horrible. Worse then FB and that is saying alot. Lol.

Thanks. I've had a feeling it was a out of memory problem. I know Firefox and Firefox beta are huge memory hogs. I try to force close them when not in use. I just installed memory booster full and that tiny core app to monitor the ram. I do have alogcat installed and know how to use it to a point. Is there any way to have alogcat automatically save memory related logs to a file? That way I would be able to view the log from before it crashes and erases it.

Hey, lets please keep my thread friendly! Ive recieved help from both of you. I have the tinycore ram monitor going. I just need more options for pre crash ram logging. Then I can go back to hard core power using my tablet to see if I can crash it.

Dang it, it just crashed again. I was looking up a way to continously log memory to a file. I just selected the task manager key on my device to close an all storage search app and it locked up. Then i hit the power key to shut screen off and it rebooted.
I really need suggestions to log memory usage every few seconds to a file that will rewrite over itself. Like a security camera system.
Just looked at the kmsg log not sure what these error mean, or maybe they are normal for android.

Thanks, I just installed those and will test them tonight and in the morning. I've noticed random spikes in drop of performance (few times daily) could be memory related. I will give these a try. Mainly I feel that I am still troubleshooting the crashing. But hopefully I can pin point the problem with logging processes and memory.

This may be a new thread type thing but using adb terminal I am trying to output bugreport to file and i can do that but it times out. Anyone know how to bypass the timeout limit?
