Flashed firmware of other phone on L7 II P715, bricked, KDZ/LGMST won't recover it - LG Optimus L3 II, L5 II, L7 II, L9 II

Using KDZ, a friend installed a P700/705 ROM in his L7 II P715 (/P710/P713/P714) by mistake, following an outdated tutorial that led him to believe the ROM would be compatible.
Result: it's bricked and other people in some Brazilian forums have done the same mistake. I'm trying to help them.
If turned on normally it gets stuck in LG's logo screen. Hard factory reset using buttons or USB cable method doesn't solve the issue.
The user says he tried many ROMs (probably also L7 I ICS ROMs :x) and after installed some ROMs make white stripes appear in the screen and others will make the LG logo screen to blink.
If turned on with the right buttons to enter emergency I think it does normally.
LG Mobile Support Tool isn't able to recover it. It gets stuck in % / says unknown error.
Tried KDZ with PhoneMode Diag, Emergency and CS_Emergency, nothing will recover it. Attached is a screen of a failed try of putting the correct stock L7 II P715 firmware on it.
My idea: maybe we can recover it by flashing a custom recovery (via adb or something else that works in emergency or download mode) then he could flash anything in his phone including the correct kernel and ROM and everything should be fixed, but since unlocking the bootloader is a requirement (please correct me if I'm wrong) and it seems the only method of doing so requires a phone working normally it seems there's no solution.
The technicians from repair centers are noobs, they were unable to recover it (I think they don't even have a BOX for this device model) and blame things like the motherboard or screen.
Any help would be appreciated.

ADB need that your phone is on, if you can go in bootloader mode you can use FASTBOOT.
with fastboot you can flash a recovery..
maybe it can help you

How Can I extract this file? Phone is still in Emergency mode now.
I've got also bin file from vygis support, mayby it is correct file for lgflashtool?
Also, this program ask me for some dll file, where I can search it?
Thx for replies.

These are the instructions for L3 II, you can do the same to extract the KDZ and obtain the dll in the process for L7 II then flash it. Follow the instructions, but use a KDZ meant for L7 II instead of the one provided in the instructions. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=51612244
Edit: correct link now.

*FOR DOWNLOAD MODE !!!!!!! NOTE !!!!!!!!! YOU MIGHT NEED TO PRESS VOL+ AND PLUG USB
OR VOL- AND VOL+ AND PLUG USB
if need to be i will guide you with kdz extraction (the .dll and .dz or .tot is inside kdz )
you don't need no mode for flashtool just phone off with the battery in and usb plugged in after you pressed start button
the tool takes the .dll and .dz or .tot depending on whats inside your kdz

Hi, i tried this guide, because my LG L7 II (P710) is bricked (blue stripes over the screen). How i must control the Software update? Phone mode EMERGENCY? Thanks guys.

Did you solve this problem ? I have made exactly same: flashed p705 ROM onto my P713 phone. I am having same error on 14% at KDZ. Nothing helping...
This is brick ? Service center LG may solve it ?

So, for those, who may encounter this error. I solved it by bringing my phone to Service Center. As a result it was very hard to bring it back. For my luck, master was good enough not to give up and get job done . He worked on my phone for more than a week, everyday, tried 2 different programmators. He flash 34% from original stock rom and that allowed him to get into recovery. After that he finished flashing.
I watched movie of repair process, that he showed me. It was crazy) phone was completly dissasembled and programmer was connected via very thin cables)

Did you flash your ROM via CWM (zip) or via KDZ? If it is the latter, it means that CWM is probably gone. Are you able to boot to recovery now?

I Flashed it using zip and after restart it bricked. Then I used every single method find in XDA forums like KDZ Updater, offline updater,LG Flash Tool etc.
I tried various roms too i.e. Official, custom, rooted but none worked. Only rom worked was P700 V20D, which flashes upto 99% . I am also unable to use ABD as it not shows in device list.

Avoid Brick(KDZ)

I'm writing this for all O1 users..
Avoid using kdz or the russian method for flashing official GB or a baseband(you can use V20c rom which was uploaded in .zip format) .. Avoid doing so as it is very dangerous,, it can make your phone dead.. But afterall nothing is possible without risk.. So, If you are using KDZ or russian method and got struck at emergency mode, never pull out the battery as it will make your phone dead. If you are stuck in emergency mode, try using recovery key combo or start the KDZ process again and remember to disable usb modem from device manager.
Hit thanks if you think that this information is useful.

yes but you cannot use V20c rom which was uploaded in .zip format if you are having v10 baseband you need to flash baseband using lgmdp as suggested in one thread in xda
if you need to remove recovery image you can't use zip format...and baseband is also a problem
I too was about to remove the battery when my phone got stuck in emergency mode while downgrading baseband
but decided to disconnect and reconnect the phone and this worked....

we can use zip format files to replace custom recovery with another custom or stock recovery and also we can use zip format to install rom but till now no method to change baseband using zip format files.
Im using kdz just like making love..
Almost 4 times for a month, still dont find any issue..
About Russian way, the topic has said about that... so do at your own risk, beside that if u follow step by step (how to) carefully its no problem to...
If u dont want your phone brick, dont do roots, dont install custom recovery, use all LGE sh*t and put your phone at locked underground room and at last dont use it.

Are you able to get into recovery mode still? For download mode make sure your holding down the correct key combination to get into download mode. You can also try using a USB Download jig which you can get from here, which when plugged into the phone will force the phone into download mode. As a fair warning the download jig's don't usually work with newer model phones but for a couple bucks it's worth a try. Let me know if you still have questions.
Motherboard dead?
Sorry to invade this post. I would just like to have confirmation on my device and it's pretty similar to what is found here. The only way I can access download mode is by pressing Q+Power and then adding the battery. Odin connects to everything, I can even flash the firmware from Bell for my Galaxy gt-i5510M and it PASS. But I can't still power it up, is the motherboard or something similar dead?
Thanks

If your device can still access download mode and Odin can successfully connect to your device an flash the firmware your device's motherboard is not dead. Try re-flashing the firmware to your device and checking auto-reboot option in Odin this way when the firmware finishes flashing the device will automatically reboot and hopefully power on then.
Thanks for the fast answer, you've been answering 3 people back on this thread, impressive.
Unfortunately I made sure of that, the auto reboot was checked but it doesn't reboot the device. I wanted to put a screenshot but I didn't realize you need around 10 posts to be able to post outside links. I've been looking through xda for a while but never posting.
I'm used to adb, so Odin is a bit new I have to admit. I've put the ops file, callisto in this case, in the appropriate ops , and then the One Package file I got from samfirmware "I5510UGKC5_I5510BMCKC5_BMC". Is there something else I could flash? It wouldn't be like some other phones where I could put down a Custom Recovery, go back to stock, etc. ?

To clarify did you put the firmware in the correct slot in Odin (PDA slot in this case) when flashing? Also double check your flashing the correct firmware for your device, as that could also be part of the problem.
Well you figured some things that were wrong. I was putting it in the one package slot. So I tried in the PDA slot, but it said "Invalid Image Type". From the sticker inside the battery compartment, it does say it's the GT-I5510M, so the 551 from Bell Canada it seems. But it's not easy to find a firmware for it, and the only one I found is at sammobile. There's plenty others under GT-I5510, but they're all European.
Any idea what I could use instead? The full name of the firmware I have is: "I5510UGKC5_BMCKC5_HOMEDOWNLOAD_TEST.tar" or "I5510UGKC5_I5510BMCKC5_BMC.zip" for the zip.
Thanks a lot for following this.

You can try ignoring the "Invalid Image Type" error and trying to flash anyway just don't unplug your phone from Odin until it fully completes the process.

Which model number and carrier is your Galaxy S3? Fortunately if you can get into Download (Odin mode) mode your phone is only soft bricked. What you can do is first download and install the USB drivers for your device, these Samsung drivers should be compatible with your device http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2038555. Next, you can download and install the latest version of Odin from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2189539. After you have done that you can download the stock firmware for your Galaxy S3 by searching for it and downloading here http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/1/. Then you can boot your phone into Download mode and use Odin to flash the stock firmware you downloaded. This should successfully restore your device to working order. Let me know if you still have questions I'll be happy to help you out.

Even you have to put the phone in Download mode?
Edit: I tried the same and it still does not work :/
I tried again, but this time I ran the Odin as administrator. I passed thru NAND Write but in the end of all process it says FAIL and brick my phone.
I am trying to flash this file: G925IDVU1AOD1_G925IZTO1AOD1_G925IDVU1AOD1_HOME.tar.md5
You can see the issue attached:
you fail because you need a pit file..I can flash my normal firmware without a problem..but if I try a other one for example a provider one..it fails..for that we need the pit..and for that we need root..to extract it from the phone..and I don't won't to root ATM..
So how can I fix the device?

No, I just want to change the firmware version because the version that came with the phone does not have Portuguese as all language. The revice was 100% stock, just tried to flash another country firmware thru Odin and it has been bricked.

O.k the only way I know around this without finding your original firmware and flashing that, is to:
flash the firmware again, and wait until it fails again,
then hold vol down + power + home to get it to restart in to download mode again but keep odin open,
then flash CF autoroot .
then wait for the phone to reboot and it will install root then it will restart two more times on it own then should boot into the O.S.
(i take no responsibility if you mess up you device though but I have done this on more than one occasion and it always works for me)
I expect you could probably do this will another recovery(stock/twrp) instead of the CF autoroot one but have yet to try.
but you probably will be better off finding original firmware but you will not have Portuguese as you want.
Good luck with trying to fix your device

according to this you can use 925F version but I can not confirm my self as i don't have the device, If you don't mind rooting and tripping knox, I don't think you can do much more harm

Hey there, I had a similar problem, what I did was re-install the Samsung drivers and reboot the computer also I turned off my lock screen and activation on the phone. Between the two of those things it allowed ODIN to have success.

I also went through this problem too, and this helped thank you
But also for another phone I had to flash using a different computer for this to work.

Maybe you can try each of the stock versions until you get the right one for your particular device. Also maybe a model number would help someone on here to identify what version you have, I don't know just throwing that out there.
My phone is G925i, and in the back says that it is made in Yateley, UK
Wich firmware you think I can try to flash?
I was trying the G925IDVU1AOD1_G925IZTO1AOD1_G925IDVU1AOD1 and then the phone has bee bricked.

I can't link to the page I go to because of my noob post count but its samsung-updates in google. There is a whole section with various G925i versions I'm sure you'll find it there.

Am i hard bricked?

Am I hard bricked?
I accidently tried flashing the wrong rom onto my phone.
Now it says to use samsung emergency recovery, which doesnt work.
I lost the paper that had all the info about my phone on it..
Ive tried using ODIN to flash multiple different stock roms for the g925a and it always says FAIL.
Ive tried not flashing the boot loader.
Ive tried using the appropriate PIT
Tried different cables and usb ports as well.
edit: the phone was encrypted and had the reactivation lock on as well
Thanks for any replies

Oh, you have got the phone like that?
Mm... Use SamFirm to download a full-wipe firmware (binary nature ticked).
Flash firmware with your PIT with Repart and Nand Erase All ticked in Odin

SM-G925A bought in the US from the carrier "ATT".
Yes I tried SamFirm, it doesnt work for me. Unless I got the country code wrong.
Oh... If you have the AT&T version there's only the AT&T version.
Put "ATT" for the region.

You can boot into download mode on the phone?
Holding the volume down and power button at the same time? If so..
Use kies air, it will say that the phone is unsupported but still navigate to emergency firmware upgrade and put in the device model and S/N number located on the back of the phone or on the box, hope this works for you

I appreciate the help, but Ive tried that, and Smart Switch too. Just gives me an error after entering the serial number.
