Yes and you will need to correct any *xml files you may have edited or it will fail. Must be completely Stock

If someone doesn't before I have a chance then yes I will. Busy this evening I am going to my grandsons concert, but after that I will start working on it.

That is awesome! I just switched to T-Mobile and got the M8 but I'm hanging onto my Max in hopes that I can get the LTE data working on T-Mobile. I already did the SIM unlock and I am able to use cellular service with my son's SIM card from his Xperia. But the SIM in the M8 is a nano and the Max has a micro, but I ordered an adapter which will be here tomorrow. So blah, blah, blah. Long story short, once I get my T-Mobile SIM into my Max I'm going to work on getting the LTE GSM data working.

I remember Infinite from the Hero days, good dude here, & yes fingerprint scanner should indeed work since it's an official ota.

I have my ota backup it doesn't have my account info on it because it's fresh as soon s I installed the ota I rooted phone backed it up and 're installed vipermax

Scroll all the way down to "All other supported models".
You can choose any phone you want to really. I chose Incredible (verizon) when i did mine.
yea just pick other, really only thing that matters is that unlock_bin code, once you have that, game on.
Anyone get the unlocking to work lately? Htc tells me unlock error.

was anyone able to unlock after the new 3.5 mb update from at&t? thanks in advance.
I unlocked after installing the update. No issues. Was able to flash Nottach's The Base ROM.

Oops after what u said I updated... hope it will still let me unlock. Anyway no worries if it won't.

Supposedly this update patches root and swaps the bootloader. Proceed at your own discretion.
Most recent VZW update that was discovered today.
I have not yet delved into the files to see exactly what this update updates. A few users have reported Apps2SD being included and a change in phone status that now displays a "Secure Boot Status Field" in addition to the SELinux Status field.

I dont think you really want to from what ive read today. It will unroot, and patch things so you can't odin the pre release kernel to root.

Only do this if you don't want to be rooted. You will not be able to flash any Loki kernel and will be stuck with stock until or if they crack this new bootloader

Safest way is through KIES or the Samsung/VZW updater app.

Thanks for this. I copied some bloat to a temp folder and then deleted the orig files. All works fine except adding new accounts to the blink feed. Went back to restore the HTC sync apk and my copies were gone. This dump helped me a lot.

Its very possible this could be turned into an update zip that could be flashed in fastboot similar to an ruu for s-off users.

yeah, exactly...the fix that has been released on other devices (Google & HTC) are still vulnerable...though I don't believe the stagefright scare is all that...

i cant get my phone to take the OTA. it does through like it is going to update that errors out and ends back in recovery mode.
i ran ruu 2.6.651.11 first then tried to take the update. i didnt fastboot oem lock . do i need to? im s-off
