LG Optimus G E975 Helpp - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi to all, i am using lg optimus g e975 Korean in Pakistan. android 4.1.2 installed on it. now i want to upgrade it to higher version. I tried LG Support Tools, it find an upgrade foe my cell phone but after downloading a large file when it start upgrading process and my phone goes into downloading mod it gave error that please remove your battery and then insert it again and then try again... i tried many time but same error.. i actually want to upgrade my android software to kitkat 4.4 is it possible? if possible then what is the best and safe way to upgrade my lg optimus g e975... thanks ..

There's no official Kit Kat for your phone. You would have to use a custom rom like CyanogenMod or something along those lines. The LG Support Tools sucks. You should try using this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2498102
I gave you the link to the latest KDZ (official firmware) for the Indian version in your other thread. I'm also not sure if many custom roms support the language you are looking for either. Basically you would want to root (Safe Root or Framaroot should work) then use FreeGee to unlock bootloader and install custom recovery. Then boot to recovery, backup rom, and wipe, and install new one.

If you already have CWM installed, then you're all set to install the custom ROM. Just make sure to run the Nandroid backup from CWM before the upgrade (better safe than sorry).

It means you have replaced the recovery to one that allows you to upgrade your ROM among other things (CWM that is).
Regarding custom ROMs - that's the big question: There are nearly no custom ROMs for this device, or rather to the L7 II series. If you browse the Android development section, you'll find some custom ROMs, but they are all based on the current 4.1.2 one. There's also an MIUI ROM for your device, about which you can read at the end of this thread. According to other threads here, LG has announced it would upgrade the L7 II series to KitKat somewhere round August (which should be any time now), so I guess the best thing to do would be to wait for it (as I do).

Lg g3 o/s deleted while using recovery mode

I need help dear developers.........
I have lg g3 d855 32 gb smartphone made in korea . Using recovery mode I was deleting my cache but also deleted my o/s . Now I have a blind g3 . I got help by seeing u r threads in lg g3 forum . So I downloaded European lg g3 32gb stock firmware and flash tool . When I tried all steps and at end when flash tool was ready it say different model or wrong .dll. now I don't understand which stock firmware is suitable for my d855 32gb made in korea . Could u please help ....? Thank in advance
Find a LG G3 rom for your variant which is D855 look at the index of roms if your having trouble, download it and flash using adb sideload, make sure you have the latest adb tools to flash.
You must have a custom recovery like TWRP if you managed to wipe your OS. Just download a compatible rom and put it on your SD card and use TWRP to flash.

The process involves rooting your phone, unlocking the bootloader, and installing a recovery. Once that is done you can install custom roms. I would recommend skipping cyanogenmod 11 and just jump to one of the Android 6 (marshmallow) roms that can be found here. Listed below are references that should help you accomplish your task.

The link below explains how to back up your EFS, which is something you definitely want to do.

Best of luck.

Marshmallow for the E970 is only for the adventuresome. The less adventurous should stick with a Lollipop ROM. I have only tried 3 or 4 but like Resurrection Remix v5.6.4 which can be found in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/optimus-g-att/development/rom-t2869745 .
Note: It is not the same as version v5.6.8 found in http://forum.xda-developers.com/opt...-resurrection-remix-updated-11-18-15-t3253357

You would have to use lg up and then find a kdz file for your variant of the g5. Then boot into download mode and select upgrade and then start
