Where can I download stock recovery? Anyone know?
Never mind, just found it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2707877
Well never mind again.... it does not have stock recovery for 1.12.502.18 so if anyone has it, please post a link or reply. Thanks!

Wonder if they plugged any existing exploits (I guess firewater s-off would be the only one that matters)? AT&T likes to do that (plug previous exploits) with their updates. So if you haven't s-off'ed yet, and want to in the future, I would tread carefully before installing this OTA.

yea. uploading the ota now

Just upgraded....noticed that they have added Fitbit as a default application as well.

So let me make sure I have the process to install the OTA correct (I am S-OFF):
1. Make backups
2. Download the OTA, place in root dir of Internal Storage
3. Flash stock recovery
4. Relock Bootloader with All-In-One Toolkit
5. Enter stock recovery
6. Select "apply from phone storage" (may be different tho, that's what it was on the M7)
7. Follow onscreen instructions during installation, if any.
8. Reboot
9. Profit
Please, kindly correct anything I may have missed.

They probably added Extreme Powersaving too?

[CONFIRMED] Root after OTA

Just wanted to let you guys know that I still have root after I installed the OTA. I will give a few steps what I did in a few minutes.
These are the steps I used. Took a while (seemed like forever) but at least I am updated and with root. I originally came from an ICS rom then I had to flash a stock rom then RUU.
1. Flashed stock recovery (Link below)
2. Locked bootloader (fastboot oem lock)
3. Flashed RUU 1.02.605.6 (link below)
4. Installed OTA (check for new software updates when booted)
5. Unlocked bootloader (http://www.htcdev.com/)
6. Flashed RA recovery (found in forum)
7. Installed su and superuser under Developer menu under RA recovery
8. BAM!!!!!!!
The RUU I used was found at http://www.scottsroms.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=37
Thanks scrosler for having that available!
The stock recovery can be downloaded at http://db.tt/tw5m33ZG. Unzip and flash in Fastboot using command "fastboot flash recovery recovery_signed.img"
Can you post a link to the RUU and stock recovery you used ? Thanks.

So does it seem like it's worth it? How's reception and call quality with the new radios?
What radio versions does your phone list now?
I just rooted. I still have my original stock ruu. It's rooted though. Could I update with that or do I have to unroot?
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using Tapatalk
If it lets you update then go for it. Just make sure your bootloader is unlocked after the update then install su and superuser and you got root back basically.
So if I just uninstall su I can update? I have amon ra as my recovery. What about that??
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using Tapatalk
You would need the stock recovery. RA would cause it to fail.

If you are using Amon Ra recovery all you need to do is boot to recovery and use the superuser installation in the developers menu.
that didnt work. i install it... reboot and go to super user and try to update the bu or whatever and it says root fails.
I rooted the same way I did in GB.

ill try it again by re installed the leak completely. do you kno how to TEMP install a custom recovery so i can keep stock and recieve ota updates?
Try flashing the full SU located here
http://androidsu.com/superuser/
Then from the Play store, install Busybox installer and get the latest.
Regarding recovery, flash AmonRA 3.15 in fastboot with unlocked bootloader. "fastboot flash recovery **filename**.img" Your HBOOT will show **TAMPERED** but that is normal.

Just run the Verizon RUU executable -- it will flash your bootloader. You'll lose root, etc, and to get it back you'll have to flash a custom recovery.
I am also looking for the stock recovery to flash. I don't want to wipe my phone with the ruu, just need stock recovery to flash the ota.

Trying to update from stock 1.15 to an OTA. I think I misread something.. I was under the impression that I could just install a stock recovery, then accept the OTA, then reroot, and reflash a custom recovery. Hey, I do know that a stock recovery for the Droid DNA does not appear to exist anywhere online. I've been searching for months. A method you could use is to open the stock RUU wizard, continue the wizard, then find a folder called %temp% and the stock recovery img is on there somewhere. Flash it with fastboot.
wth do you even want stock recovery back?

A backup of...? Changed what apps and where? That sounds pretty irrelevant. How would it "not flash"? You would know if you RUU'd back to stock or not. You're also making it sound like you were S-OFF and now you're S-ON all of the sudden? That would be the result of an RUU route. Not sure why anything would prompt about being root or not while powering down a device.

S-OFF only goes back to S-ON through RUU. So I don't think you were S-OFF but then again I know nothing of that HBOOT version. Just download the latest CWM/SU, put it in storage, flash it, reboot to ensure root was gained and then try installing MB again.

Unless you manually toggled the security flag back to s-on, I'm pretty sure there is no way to go from s-off to s-on. Not even RUU (other than Viperuu) revert you to s-on.

[Guide] S-Off M9 SPR

quick instructions...
0. be dev unlocked (obviously) - thanks htc
1. twrp back up your system/data/boot (obviously) - thanks captain
2. in twrp, flash Bad Boys stock rooted rom here - thanks bad boyz
3. in the same twrp session, flash your stock 1.32.651.30 boot partition, or use this one here (unzip, and put the folder in your twrp backups folder)
4. reboot system and download sunshine s-off here - thanks jcase and beanups
5. after sunshine runs completely and system reboots, wait a minute, it will reboot again to finish, then POWER ITSELF OFF
6. reboot back to bootloader after the phone POWERS ITSELF OFF and see that you are s-off. now you can reboot recovery and wipe the stock rooted odex you are on and restore your current rom that you backed up in step 1
that is all.
edit: this guide assumes you have been unlocked, rooted, possibly running a custom rom already, and maybe don't have a stock backup. if you are bone stock: dev unlock, flash twrp, flash supersu, then sunshine s-off.
edit2: also, if you are on a custom rom that has the an untouched boot.img, you may be set to run sunshine already.
Thanks for this. Got a quick question. I'll be upgrading to the m9 soon, so I plan on getting s-off first thing.
Since the phone will be stock out of the box, could I just unlock bootloader, flash twrp, flash supersu to get root, and then do sunshine?
If not, then I'll follow your instructions. Just curious if it will work this way.
