Bluetooth Headset Question - Ornate TrueSmart

I have Jaybird Freedom Sprint Bluetooth headsets that I use to workout with. I tried pairing with them on my Omate. It will pair but the sound still comes out of the speaker on the watch. Is there something I can do to fix that as the headset works great. Thanks for any help!

I have have a pair of Jaybirds, and mine did the same thing. What worked was the Omate ran out of juice and after recharging and Turing back on it has worked perfectly every since. You may also need to to set the Jaybirds as default for miix and phone calls under Bluetooth settings.

Where the heck are the bluetooth settings, not quite in your face if you know what I mean.

Yeah, so I don't see in the watch where those Bluetooth settings are to set the Jaybird up as default. Maybe you can help guide me to where that is. Not sure if it matters but it is stock. I also drained the battery but it didn't do anything. If you have a speific process maybe you could lay it out for me and see what happens. Thanks again for the help!

Go to settings. Then wireless and networks. Then Bluetooth. Select Jaybird make sure phone and media audio are selected.

I found the options and it was set as you stated above. Still didn't connect. But, I did a hard reset and tried again and it wored fine, now the issue is that when I turn the headsets on they should connect to the watch but doesnt automatically and I have to re-pair each time.

Glad you got it to work. Not sure why you have to repair each time.

I have a bluetooth problem too. My 1/8 2100 (stock firmware) Truesmart pairs with my LogiLink BT0026 headset but i can play music only within a distance of about 10cm. It disconnects on a higher range. Same with the connection to my PC. The headset connects normally to my other devices. Any ideas???

I have the earlier 1/8 US firmware. I use the Altec Lansing Backbeat 903 Bluetooth(Also sold as Plantronics under same model name and number) headset that I picked up from a garage sale today. Great Bluetooth stereo sound! I absolutely get no sound cuts when worn on my wrist(Which is 2ft away when arm extended) no matter how I move my arms. Have you tried disabling the quickboot feature in Settings >> System >> Accessibility? That feature is causing problems with wifi and bluetooth due to the firmware from what I've been told before.

Thx for your reply! :good:
I tried disabling the quickboot feature and also flashed Loki's EnSec-firmware, but the problem is still the same. :crying:

I have come to the conclusion that we can't always blame the truesmart with the bluetooth issues. I have a bluetooth audio receiver plugged into my hifi system but I can only stream to it in very close contact i.e. about 10cm maxiumum. However same setup on watch connected to my August EP60 headphones (which are amazing btw) yielded very different results. After connectin established I started music streaming and took off my watch and leaving it downstairs went for a walk round my house including upstairs. No loss of connection with several meters distance and no dropouts at all. Happy because I bought the August EP60's specifically to use with Truesmart.
:good:

Hi,
I'm listening to music from my TS through my bluetooth earphones right now... apart from the occasional split second stutter, I'm very impressed.... I can see how this would be a killer device for the gym or joggers etc, I'm so impressed im going to try and find a smaller pair than my backbeats!

Good to hear this, so i still have hope.
What's about your WiFi connection... my maximum range is 3 to 5 meters away from the router (same room, no walls between).

With my stock TrueSmart I get Bluetooth solid from 3 rooms, 32 ft min before blittiness starts. WiFi is even farther.

My problem is finally solved.! I removed the pin of the wristband in which the antenna is located and found that both black wires were scratched. I isolated them with a small peace of tape and now it works great for me.

Just took mine apart for the second time and found the same connector lose again, hopefully sorted properly this time. How did you get the wristband pins out, mine don't seem to have screw heads.

Crap Bluetooth?

I purchased mine yesterday. Once the WOW effect wore off, came the disappointments..
The bluetooth is terrible. Lots of static in my Plantronics Voyager Pro, and also it pairs with my Nissan BT handsfree, but only connects the first time, afterwards its not possible to connect to it anymore.
Flashed to the latest KE7, factory reset, did not help at all.
How can such an expensive phone be like this? Bluetooth is one of the most important features in a phone...
I have the same pairing issue like you. Don´t get my Sony Bluetooth headset to work. Tested it with two devices.
I have car bt xplode System and i never had it so good. Always connects. It does skip if wifi is on though. I had the same issue with gs1.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA Premium App
Happily mine works nice, with SonyEricsson a2dp stereo headset, Belkin a2dp receiver, a nokia handsfree (not sure about the model), the file transfer is faaaaaast
It has paired everything I used it with and no problems so far.
The sound is even better than it is via my retired iphone.
does anyone tried working with SE LIVEVIEW.
My N1 had truble, and looking forword to SGS2 and don't know yet if it is OK.
Also have problem with a Plantronic Discovery 975. Statics and stuttering sound. No problem pairing though and it is the same (bad) sound quality if I'm near or 5 m away.
I'm on KE7 firmware.
Wow, should this be added to the official bug list?
For me, bluetooth intermittently skips if wifi is turned on. Once I turn wifi off, its crystal clear. This has happened on all my different bluetooth headsets so if other are experiencing the same thing, I think this is definitely an "official bug".
Mine skips, and randomly drops connection to my JVC car stereo requiring a reboot. Back and forward buttons don't work reliably either.
Anyone who says theirs is clear is wrong. They just don't have an ear for decent sound quality. The bitpool on every Android phone (including Cyanogen) is horribly low and it really shows in the mid-high tones (ie hi-hats). No-ones is different.
Worst of all, sometimes if I get out of my car, I'll get a 'hot' leg where the device is overheating from the bluetooth going nuts. I feel like it's damaging my SGS2.
Yapp, can confirm that turning of wifi stopped the stuttering. Sound isn't great but probably usable. Defenitly a bug?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA Premium App
Any progress on this yet? Mine drops the sound quite a lot. Remains connected but just no sound and does this about every 15 minutes, requiring bluetooth to be turned on and off.
First let me start off by saying, my bluetooth pairs well with my Motorola S7HD and the sound to ME is DECENT until you put it in your pocket and from there it gets "staticky" somewhat but not too bad.
As for the car, I have to manually pair the phone to the car stereo every time. Sometimes it would connect it to automatically. The sound to MOST of us in the car is fine. Keep in mind most of us aren't audiophiles. If it plays well, understandable, and without any static, it's a ok in my book.
The suckerpunch is that sometimes the bluetooth would drop connection now and then. I need to do a restart on the phone to get it flowing again. Meh.
If anyone finds a fix, please tell
i also get crappy sound quality, but whats worse is, that neither the mic nor the earplugs work on my BT headset when i try to answer a call! (sony ericsson mw600 headset)
only when i pause the call and resume it, the headset works!
did anyone experienced this?
solved it by disabling wifi....seems to be a common android issue
Any progress on this issue?
E.g. does 2.3.4 improve?
Hi @all,
I noticed a (bluetooth) headset issue while calling (not only in this rom, even in all roms i have tested): when wifi is on, crack sounds make every call inaudible.
It happens with plantronics voyager 520 and BMW professional (2011) car kit.
I can't believe having the best phone with such an error.
Suspending wifi, stops the crack sounds, but the quality of headset calls is much worse than with my "old" SGS1.
I use my phone two hours a day for calling. I'm not amused about this fact.

Bluetooth reception and range problems?

Hi everyone,
I searched the forums to see if anyone else was having bluetooth reception and range issues but came up short.
I'm having problems keeping my Plantronics Voyager Pro + headset connected to the phone. I usually have to have it within 3 feet of the phone, or I get a lot of static or BT disconnects completely. What's weird is I am able to stay connected up to 20 feet away with my Jabra bluetooth speaker. I recently bought a hard plastic case for the phone which made the problem a little worse, but not too much (5 feet range vs 3 or 4).
Anyone else having this issue? I just bought the phone on 12/17 and I think I have 30 days to exchange or return. Are there any fixes out there that have worked for anyone?
Thanks in advance for any comments or suggestions!
*** Update: I just re-paired my Voyager Pro + headset with my old HTC HD2 and was able to walk about 25 feet away from the phone (two walls in between) and had no static or disconnects. Must be the Amaze. ***
I've been using the Motorola S305, and I can be two rooms away, and still get good reception from the phone, so long as doors are open. Like every bluetooth headset I've used, getting my body between the phone and the headset is a problem (phone needs to be in a pocket on the same side of my body as the headset BT receiver). The quality of the bluetooth on this phone seems to be superior to that of my old N1. No complaints.
Thanks Dave. Are Bluetooth issues such as these hardware or software issues?
Get new earphones.

I called T-Mobile and they said the bluetooth connectivity/range problem is a known issue for the Amaze 4G. HTC is currently working on a solution that will likely be resolved on the next software update.
Off I go to buy a set of wired earphones until they release it.
Curious--I wonder why I'm having no difficulties, then. I've connected the Amaze to my N1, the amaze to my ASUS Transformer, and the Amaze to my S305 headset, all with no problems.
Not all the profiles I'd like to see supported necessarily are (Can't get DUN to work), but I'm puzzled that there's apparently some problem.
It's interesting that your Voyager worked so well with the HD2.
On the Tmobile forums, there's certainly discussion:

So far I have talked on BT with no issues. I set the phone on my desk and I walk around my room without issues, distance is no more than 10 feet, but works without issues.
Get the latest updates for you phone. Delete the pairing with your Bluetooth then pair again. I have a Jawbone Era and my reception was horrible. My reception is much better now after updating and pairing again, although I still have a long delay between phone and Bluetooth.
Only issue I have is delay when making call. Recieving the call is fine

[Q] Let's talk Bluetooth problems

Hey everyone,
Has anyone noticed bluetooth issues? I've pointed them out in other threads, but they seem to be glossed over. I hate to seem like a noob by creating new threads, but I fear that the issue is being looked over by most people. I've read a few reports of people having issues with their phones connecting to their cars or headsets automatically. Has anyone else faced these issues?
I specifically cannot get my BT headset to connect unless I unpair and repair it everytime I want to use it. Sometimes even during a phone call the headset will drop connection and wont reconnect unless i turn it off and on a few times. For reference, I've tried multiple BT headsets and they all behave the same way. These headset's also work just fine with my Galaxy S2, just not with my S3 (international on XLE8)
No problems with bluetooth here and I use it a lot (HS3000, Logitech Boombox, PS3 and Wii controllers too).
No issues here. Phone sometimes doesn't pair automatically with the BT kit in my work car, but I've had that issue with my S1 and S2 in the same car so I'd say it's a problem with the headunit.
Works perfectly with the Sony headunit in my own car, and connects to my mate's fine.
ok, what firmware rev are you guys running? im going nuts not being able to use bluetooth here!!
somewhat related.
i often leave my sgs3 connected to my laptop via usb when i fall asleep. at morning, battery's charged 100% obviously and phone isn't hot.
last time around, i was listening to music via hm3700 bluetooth headset. then later turned off the bluetooth headset. i forgot to turn off the bluetooth on sgs3 and again fell asleep while it's still connected via usb to laptop.
when i woke up at morning as usual battery's charged 100% but the sgs3 was hot, not so hot but isn't anywhere the normal hot we're accustomed to.
connects automatically to my car's BT built-in system. Only needed to pair once.
Works very well with my Sennheiser PXC 310 BT.
If I switch on the headphones the phone automatically connects to it.
can everyone please detail their firmware/kernel they are using?
i am on XXALE8, with the stock kernel
I have problems on XXLE8 as well connect it to my car head unit and it acrually crashes the headunit after 5 mins being connected . After the heaf unit crashes 3 times it requires a pin code. Iphone 4, 4s and gs2 connect no issues.

Oddly - my phone will automatically connect to my cars in-built BT system, but it won't auto connect to my Jawbone Era without switching BT of and back on....
I also have problems, with my build-in bt in my car. Have XXBLH3. Connect fine, but drop the connection 2-3min after. My SGSII have no problems
No Ringtone through Bluetooth
Okay here is my problem……I want my custom ringtones i have set for contact to play in my Bluetooth headset when a receive a call, not that dumb ring. That way I will know if I want to take the call or not because I can tell by the ringtone who is calling. Why would Samsung disable this feature. my iPhone 4s plays the ringtone I have setup when I get a call. Is there anyway to do this. I ride a motorcycle and I have a device called a Chatterbox that let’s me connect via Bluetooth to my phone so I can hear my music and talk and make calls while I am riding. On my iPhone 4s my music would pause my custom ringtone would play and I could decide it I wanted to take the call or send it to voicemail, then my music would start right back up from where it left off. Right now my Galaxy i717 and my Galaxy i747 (Note and S III) just play this annoying ring and I can’t tell who it is! Any have a fix or work around for this.
Hmmm, the sound on my cars bluetooth gets distorted and only a reconnect will fix, and more worringly sometimes the S3 will not wake up after disconnecting from my car and only a hard reset will solve it.
My S2 did pretty much the same thing.

[Q] Bluetooth poor connexion with wireless heaphones/speakers

Hello. I received my Omate US Version, 8Gb a few days ago, stock version of the system (reinstalled after trying the excellent Lokifish Marz firmware).
The Bluetooth connexion seems very poor for music transmission with Bluetooth headsets or speakers; when I move to watch more than 10 centimeters (about 4 inches) away from the Omate interference starts (the music "stutters") and connection stops completely (disconnects) at about 20-30 centimeters. Can't listen to music consistently while moving my arm (... when I walk).
Could there be an hardware issue with the Bluetooth antenna?
I tried rebooting, turning Bluetooth on and off multiple times, even reinstalling the firmware (the issue was present with the Lokifish Marz firmware).
I'm trying to listen simple 128 kbps mp3 (non VBR). (I discovered the issue while listening 192 kbps vbr, I taught it was the problem...).
The only way I manage to have a smooth playback is by putting the Omate in the same pocket as the receptor of the Bluetooth headset, or with a Bluetooth emitter clipped to the watchband (I tried with three different Bluetooth headsets and also a Bluetooth speaker that works perfectly with my other phones.
Thanks for your advices and suggestions.
Lose antenna connector. Request a replacement.
My bluetooth connection to my stereo in my car also stutters and disconnects. I also have a hard time connecting.
Just so folks will not get the wrong idea, on my stock 1/8/1900 TrueSmart with 20140120 firmware, the Bluetooth is excellent for music and phone both in my car or with BT headphones, and BT keyboard. It will also connect to the keyboard and another BT device at the same time. Range is excellent, 15 meters or more.
Lots of other Bluetooth issues, but these reports sound like antenna problems. Assembly on some TrueSmarts was very poorly done.

I've only tried to exercise with it once while using Bluetooth and the same thing happened (switched back to my iPod after 2 minutes). I am currently on stock and plan to go back to the newest patch. I will try on both stock and patch and see if it's still happening. I hope this is indeed not an issue of poor assembly.

Wow, okay just tested (both mp3 and movies stored on both internal and SD). When connect to Bluetooth, any movement causes stutter and pausing. When off bluetooth, no problems.
I've already removed the back cause went I flashed the ROM there were issues that require a battery pull and I installed an SD card. Not to mention, I emailed support over a week ago for another issue (now resolved) and no response.
Hope this can be fixed because this device is worthless if I can't run with it using Bluetooth!
I have a Jabra Sport BT headset. I've used it with 2 different MotoactV and now this TS. Same signal issue on all of them. So I dont think it's the TS. I always had to wear both my MA and now TS on my right hand when using the headset while running.

You have to open the back, remove the battery, unscrew two internal screws to remove a black plastic shield under the battery.
Then you peel a silver sticker off the shield and using a splooger carefully lift the black plastic shield out. The way they assembled the TrueSmart, there is probably areas where white sealant sloppily applied is going to need to be removed enough to get the black plastic out. It should just lift out, but don't count on that...be careful lifting off the charging connector ribbon cable.
Once you are under there, you will see all the antennas for all stuff, including Bluetooth. They pop onto connectors on the main board, like little ball and socket connectors. Your Bluetooth one might just be touching, not popped on - sounds like it. Has been seen before.
Voids all sorts of warranties, probably, but that's your call.

That sounds a little tricky. Everything else works well and I wouldn't want to break anything else. A video would be helpful and knowing exactly there the antenna is for Bluetooth.

Just did some more testing and it seems its not exactly just movement. Whenever the TS is within 1 foot of the Bluetooth device it works much better. 1-2 feet away and it comes and goes with movement. More than 2 feet and no sound. Could this still be a loose antenna?
I get 20-30ft with little issue so I would say yes.
I just want to say that I get stuttering issues in my car stereos connection, but when I connect my plantronics bluetooth headset, I can leave my watch in my room and walk 20 feet away and get perfect call clarity. My watch works perfectly with my bluetooth call headset, but will not work when I'm in my car connecting to my stereo. I would suggest trying to bluetooth connect with several devices, not just headphones, before messing with the antenna connections. At first, I thought it was faulty hardware, but after getting a perfect connection with my headset, I now think the connection on the board is solid, must be something else

I just removed everything and the connect seems to be solid tight. I made sure it was touching anything else and closed it back up very well. Still with the same Bluetooth issue. Funny thing is it works in the car bluetooth okay. I don't have another Bluetooth to test with music but my phone works with the headphones well. Not sure what next. I may install the patch and see if that makes any difference but I'm guessing not?

Bluetooth issue?

Quick question: is anyone having issues with Bluetooth stopping every so often while playing music? It does it on my Klipsch earphones & in my car (my only Bluetooth listening so far). What I've noticed is that it interrupts the music because it thinks it's in a call. If I press the button on my earphones that would end a call (or likewise in my car), the music starts right back up. It seems like an odd bug. Any thoughts?
Haven't seen anything wrong. I don't want to jinx myself but so far, it's actually working much better than my V20 was. Every day I'd have to turn my BT off and back on before starting my car or it might not connect the audio properly. Then, about once a week, a complete restart was needed. Haven't had to do either with the V30 yet.
V30 Bluetooth issues
I've had multiple issues with Bluetooth connectivity for a few of my devices come up recently.
For example, I'm getting delays in receiving notifications for both my smart watches, even though only one of them is active at any given time.
My Snap Spectacles was paid, but suddenly stopped transferring videos to the V30. I paired the glasses to my iPad, and videos transferred seamlessly.
The notification for WiFi Direct keeps popping up abet few minutes. Says something about running Bluetooth, wifi, and wifi direct at the same time can cause issues. Sadly, I couldn't find a toggle to turn wifi direct off. Even when I turn regular wifi off, it turns back on.
I have no issues with BT ... but, the sound issue is likely notifications.
Yup...Bluetooth Issues Here
So I finally have the LG V30. Generally a great phone. But I too have bluetooth issues. I hear static on calls made over bluetooth. Two phones, same issue. My G6 did not have this problem. When I (briefly) had the GS8 and Note8 this was not a problem. The funny thing is, when the phone is in my pocket with the screen off, there is no static. When I remove the phone from my pocket and wake the screen, the static returns. The bluetooth works fine for my podcasts and music. Weird. But reproducible. I use the BT in my car a lot (yes, I actually make phone calls on my phone )
So I was wondering if others have had any bluetooth issues.

Weird indeed. No problems here. I'm paired to a 2013 Audi, a 2013 Ford, and a 2017 Chevy, not to mention an older Plantronics earpiece. No problems -- all my calls sound normal, or even crystal clear in Verizon HD.
This is with screen on with Waze, Pandora, even Android Auto running.

I did this on my first V30. A factory data reset did not resolve the problem. I am not sure if a reset will help with this one either. But I will give it another try.
I am having similar issues with the Bluetooth on the LG V30. When the phone is too close to the built in navigation screen/Radio in my vehicle, I am getting a lot of static. Only when making/receiving phone calls. When I move the phone 1 foot or more away from the center counsel of the dashboard the static goes away.
Went to the TMobile store where I bought the phone. They produced another LG V30 and connected to my vehicle's bluetooth. Same issue.
No issues when connected to music players.
Quite frustrating as I really like the phone.
I'm having BT problems. Calling is pretty much useless in my car (2015 Subaru), but music works reasonably well.
I'm getting continuous toast notifications about the phone connecting/disconnecting every 30 seconds or so, no matter what device. Very, very frustrating.

I'm wondering if you have the cheaper stereo in the 2015? It's the one with a small monochrome screen and manual knobs?
My wife has issues in her 15 WRX with that stereo and her phones. As soon as my number ports, I'll try mine with my 16 WRX. I have the premium version with the smaller non navigation stereo.

Yup, its the stock version. My S6 Edge before the v30 didn't have any issues. The calling thing is awful on the v30, it's unusable.

Same issue. My S6 never had an issue, however my new LG v30 sounds crystal clear when streaming audio but when I connect to a call, the call is distorted, broken, and static filled. I tried force stopping and clear data & caches of both bluetooth services, but nothing worked.
I also have a 2014 Subaru Outback with the stock radio.
My car is also a subaru (2012 Legacy). Issue is static in calls, however.
I have no problems with BT on my JBL headphones or my 2014 Ford Focus bluetooth but with my motorcycle bluetooth comm (Scala Freerider 1) I get playback of audio at like 75% speed with a lot of crackling and popping. No BT issues on the motorcycle comm with my Pixel C or S8.
I have the same issue. When I connect with my Bluetooth on my car the music plays but it randomly stops in the middle of the song, then starts again. It's like it loses the connection then gets it back right away. Doesn't seem to do it when I use the headphone jack.
In my case something different has happened.
The audio quality for connection inside the car gives a lot to be desired compared to the Galaxy S8 plus. I listen to the music as if it were with some bad quality or grit.
If the bluetooth has apt-x quality, it seems to me that my terminal does not hear how well this compression codec contributes, which theoretically transmits more audio data than bluetooth without apt-x.
Is there someone else who has the same thing?

Guys I'm new to the v30 I came from g4, my issue is that in my yaris 2014 I've connected the v30 but it doesn't recognize the phone, but it pairs as "unregistered" even I've tried to pair it with passcode but the phone just connects, and doesn't ask for any passcode after it connects I can play music but when I turned the car off and then on again v30 doesn't connect back, I have to unpair the car audio system to pair it again with the same problem of the unregistered device thing...
Edit:
Guys I just fix my problem downloading an app from the store that connects the Bluetooth to my car sistem, it recognizes it and connects automatically now, what I believe it is a problem with Bluetooth app from the phone itself
