[MOD]Increase quick setting toggle access(swipe) - Galaxy S 5 Themes and Apps

I apologize in advance if this is a repost, but I haven't seen this anywhere.
Along with modifying your quick settings toggle, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2342370&nocache=1 you can increase the number of toggles accessible by swipe, default being 10 toggles.

How did you get rid of the S Finder / Quick connect buttons? Would be much appreciated

It's an option in AllianceROM's setting

You got a few options to remove those buttons:
1) Flash a custom ROM, from our lovely devs which include the mod to remove the S Finder and Quick connect buttons. (pref Allience ROM)
2) If you prefer keeping totally stock, you can do it yourself by rooting, deodexing the systemUI.apk, then decompile the systemUI.apk
modifying the status_bar_expanded.xml /res/layout/ adding android:visibility="gone" to the linearlayout.(line 14 in notepad++) then recompile.
Credits to Goldie for telling me how to do it!

If I was to change the icon of an app manually, would the app icon change back upon update of said app or do only the files that are newer get changed in the app? Hence technically the app icon, once changed will remain that way permanently?
Also, is there an easier way than using an apk editing tool to edit the app icons?

So basically you ressurected a dead thread because you don't pay attention to all these flashable mod zips or ask the devs behind the mods. Ppl edit the apks, repack the apks, and flash it to their device via cwm, and see the change that they made.
Download from source and edit prior to packing the apk?

Tip: how to change bottom docked apps on home screens

I didn't see this anywhere in the GS2 threads when I searched so perhaps this will help someone:
To change three of the four apps in the bottom home screen dock:
Tap applications - menu - view type - customizable grid - menu - edit - drag onto dock and it will replace whatever is there - tap home
PS you can't change "Applications"
Excellent information. After making changes to the dock you can switch back to alphabetical grid and the changes to the dock will remain.

Thanks I was hoping that there was a way to modify the dock apps. It wasn't as straight forward as launcher pro.

Where do you get information like that??? It was a great help. Certainly not easy to find with average exploring. Where did you find it? And thanks!

So is there also a way to edit or remove the icon labels? Without adding a launcher.

Like the name? I believe that's custom launcher territory

Right, the name, and removal of it. Want to use ics for a while before adding launcher to see if some of the customizations I want are already there (like changing the dock icons in this thread). Only got it less than 2 days ago.

I use Power Toggles, it is good to, and if you move the APK into /system/app it can also enable/disable GPS directly without showing parameter menu.

Thank's Orphée !
I'm twisted, I like my (old) system as widgets, lol
I use extended Controls. They are customisable, and I use only the toggles I need.
Here I am using 2 rows because the buttons are larger.

If your rooted just take the apk copy it into /system/apps/ and then change the permissions to match the other files...

Navigation Bar from Another Rom?

Hi guys, I am trying to take the navigation bar from another JB(4.1.1) and put it in my own Rom, I took the SystemUI.apk as well as the framework-res.apk file, but the 2 buttons on the navigation bar don't seem to work, can anyone give me some pointers on what to do?
What are the functions of the two buttons? If possible will you be able to pull a Logcat while pressing both buttons?

1 Button is a Power off button while the other hides the navigation bar. When I copy the SystemUI.apk over, the buttons do appear in the firmware after I flash, but like I said when you click on them, they don't actually do anything.
their function might be coded inside framework.jar , or one of those jar files as framework-res is just for resources

That screenshot shows that you may be using a stock kernel, and using an Xposed module to fake SELinux permissive status. To actually edit using SQLite, you shouldn't be on a stock kernel, but a modified kernel such as beast kernel...
The tutorial to which I originally linked is for adding a flashlight toggle, though a few posts afterwards shows the steps you wanted (a toggle for mobile data).
I've modified the tutorial to give you that which you desire, mobile data.
The 3 records must edited in a similar fashion to that which is displayed below, adding the MobileData text and semicolon in between each edit.
Your edited fields should be in the identical order sequence for each of the 3 records in the database.
The first 3 screenshots show the highlighted rows, while the last shows the edited record. All you will be doing is adding the text MobileData to each of the 3. Put them wherever you wish for the toggle to appear in your drop-down notification panel..
Good luck!

Do you know how many taps you need to do to get there? Why is it I can slide down the notification tray and easily toggle on and off Bluetooth and Wifi and GPS, etc. but to toggle on and off Mobile Data I have to tap 4 times?!?

OK this is what I found. Get the Wanam Xposed app from the market and download the exposed downlader.
Open Xposed Downloader and update framework until all the red text is gone. Then go to Downloads and look for
ADVANCED POWER MENU +
You can have a custom recovery reboot power menu with data toggle and anything you can think of
