[Q] How to Root S3 I9300 - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Friends,
I am using Samsung Galaxy S3 (I-9300) in India. I am stuck on android 4.3 which is probably the last update for S3. I want to root my device and install cyanogenmod with android 4.4 on my S3.
I also downloaded official cyanogenmod exe but it requires PC to run at least Windows 7/vista/8 and i have Windows XP on my PC.
Searched google and also this Forum, found so many options, but i am confused now.
Can anyone please help me root my device and install cyanogenmod with android 4.4 in simple way?
I will be thankful to you guys.

[Q] [Question] How to root Galaxy Tab 10.1 Wifi Version easily without having a PC

Hi all, I got my Galaxy Tab 10.1 few days ago and I now want to root it so that i can have more things to play with. But is that anyway to root SGT10.1 without a PC?
Or is there anyway to root it using the Android System Recovery build in?
Please help.
I dont understand. Why not just use a PC?
The user may not have one?
If the user does not have a PC/MAC then I think their priorities are out of order. Besides, you can buy a PC for like $40 on craigslist.

If you have a Mac I believe there is a method to do it still. But if you have no computer at all then I think you are out of luck.

Why would you go through so much trouble when you can just follow the guide on my signature?
If u are on CM, s2e is your solution... If on stock, use link2sd. A2sd has problems with wifi.

[Q] Rooting Samsung Galaxy S II

Hello.
I need access to a file, but on several sites on google - all say that i need to root...
So i want to root my phone, but still keep the "official" android (dont want CyanogenMod etc.)
But im really insecure on how to root my phone - and how risky is it?
Can you please provide me with a guide (with pictures please) on how to root it.
PS: Can i still update my android, if i root the phone?
Will all the data on the phone be deleted? like reinstalling windows....

You should have posted in galaxy s2 section but:
You can keep stock android, just follow this link to root your S2 and it will be fine. There is also video tutorial in the link
You won't be able to update your phone with Software Update but you can always find the latest firmware for S2 from SamFirmware
The sam firmware website is where you can find all the stock firmware for the S2
Your files will be fine such as music pictures etc they will not be wiped and it's not risky to root your phone with the link above
If you have any other questions just ask

[Q] How do you root a 7D-501L Mediapad X1 in linux?

Hi Guys,
Newly bought this wonderful beast of a phone/tablet with a 7D-501L Build number.
I'm using Linux Mint 17, and I'm trying to find a way to root this device either by using adb or/and fastboot.
I've probably searched every "windows" solution out there, but so far no luck trying to understand their process to convert it to an adb/fastboot process.
Hope you guys can point me in the right direction

i rooted my 503L (EMUI 3.0 4.4.2 C208B009) using rootgenius app from the phone directly.
the phone was rooted initially when I flashed the KangVIP mod, but root was lost subsequently (cause unknown), upon recommendation from Chinese users, i re-rooted it successfully via the above mentioned app.
due to the KangVIP mod, Kinguser su management app was already the default su manager, i didnt change it, for 501L on international rom, you can download supersu from Play store after rooting to manage root access.
click on the dark green rectangle (with android logo) from the link below to download the latest apk

First of all, search for "root Samsung Galaxy S3 i9300" either on XDA or on Google. Make yourself familiar with the risks and advantages of rooting your phone. There are numerous tutorials available about how to root your device.
After rooting your device, enter this thread and download the latest TWRP recovery for your device. Installation instructions are given there.
Afterwards you are free to flash any Android 5.1.1 custom ROM for your device. You can find numerous ROMs here.

This is definitely the wrong thread. I'd familiarize yourself with what rooting and installing a custom recovery will actually do. If you think TWRP is an app than you have a lot more to learn. Going in blind without knowing what it actually does will leave you with a $400 paperweight
